Emma Raducanu spotted in Wimbledon crowd watching men’s semi-final as rumoured love interest Carlos Alcaraz wins

EMMA Raducanu was in the crowd for the Wimbledon men’s semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner.

The British No1 and 2021 US Open champion has been endlessly rumoured to be romantically connected with 2024 Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz, who advanced to the SW19 final earlier on Friday after beating Taylor Fritz 4-6 7-5 3-6 6-7.

However, Raducanu has always poured water on the rumours, previously stating: “We’re just good friends.”

On Friday, the 22-year-old was spotted by TV cameras in attendance on centre court for the showdown between Alcaraz’s rivals as they fought to face the Spaniard in the final.

She was seen beaming as she sat and laughed alongside her coach, who had a handy mini fan out for the pair to share in the sweltering London heat.

The BBC’s commentator for the semi-final said: “Emma Raducanu in the house watching this one.

“There’s Mark Petchey alongside her with a fan. That’s what good coaches do, provide coolants!”

Raducanu and Alcaraz have partnered up for the US Open mixed doubles new format in August, so rumours surrounding the pair aren’t likely to die down anytime soon.

British tennis star Cam Norrie was recently left looking uncomfortable when he was quizzed by a reporter on Raducanu’s love life and whether he was dating her in his press conference.

He replied: “You can ask her. I don’t know.”

Raducanu played down their possible relationship by giggling “we’re just good friends” before Wimbledon started.

The tennis star – who was told she was banned from having a boyfriend by her parents growing up – previously went out with billionaire heir Carlo Agostinelli, a former Harrow School head boy.

Ex-Tottenham academy footballer Carlo is the son of tycoon Robert Agostinelli.

The couple got together in May 2023 and were arm-in-arm at Paris Fashion Week as well as enjoying luxury holidays together in Greece and Mexico.

But after they split up, they unfollowed each other on social media.

On her relationship with Alcaraz and how they became friends, Raducanu said: “I’ve known him for years.

“Wimbledon 2021 was the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021.

“We have a good relationship still. He’s obviously overtaken me a lot, but it’s nice that we have that from a while ago.”

Raducanu had a strong start to Wimbledon this year, winning her first two matches in straight sets before being beaten 7-6 6-4 by world No1 Aryna Sabalenka.

She brought in over five millions viewers for her defeat to Sabalenka – the third-highest ratings for any non-final contest in the last three years.

The audience peaked at a figure of 5.32 million.
