Many are excited to see the guest stars appear once more during the exciting finale.
“We have always tried to make ELSBETH a place for the best actors to come and play. We must be doing something right since so many of our special guest stars managed to clear their schedules and join us again. We couldn’t be more excited for this wild reunion between Elsbeth and some of her favorite suspects,” Jonathan Tolins, showrunner and executive producer of Elsbeth, said in a statement.
The season 2 finale episode is titled “Ramen Holiday.” It will air on Thursday, May 8, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
“When Elsbeth tries to solve a murder, she comes face to face with many familiar suspects, on the season two finale of the CBS Original series ELSBETH,” the logline says.
Star Carrie Preston previously opened up about playing the colorful titular character in the procedural comedy drama series.
“We like to say that Elsbeth is plopped down in the middle of a Law & Order episode or NYPD Blue or one of these traditional procedurals,” she told Parade about the unique character in February 2024. “She’s this very colorful, unconventional, interesting, quirky, comedic character. I think the tension between those things makes for something fun along the lines of, say, Monk or Sherlock, one of those types of characters that we’ve seen before. But Elsbeth has her own unique take on that situation.”
“I just try to play what is written on the page in the best way that I know how,” she added. “I am looking at this as a comedy. It might be under the auspices of an hour-long drama, but I think we’re all aware that we’re doing something light in the way that Only Murders in the Building is light. I think we’re all sort of in agreement on that.”
