‘DREAMS have been dashed’ with 11 horses removed from the Grand National – including hot favourite Inothewayurthinkin.
The Gold Cup hero and ten others were pulled from the world’s most famous race at today’s scratching stage.

The field for this year’s Grand National is really starting to take shape[/caption]
One of the biggest names to miss out was last year’s fourth Galvin, who was pulled up in last week’s Cheltenham Cross Country race.
Other top runners to miss out were Gold Cup third and fourth Gentlemansgame and Monty’s Star, plus classy Grade 1 winner Envoi Allen.
While The Real Whacker, Trelawne, Limerick Lace, Pinkerton, Git Maker and Gericault Roque all failed to make the cut too.
But it was Inothewayurthinkin’s withdrawal that was the real gut punch for ante-post punters.
They had piling into the well-handicapped Gavin Cromwell star well before his Gold Cup heroics.
Tens of thousands went up in smoke on the Betfair Exchange while social media was littered with losing betslips that had the JP McManus-owned horse at big prices.
Bookies predicted he would go off the shortest Grand National price ever at 2-1 before Cromwell pulled the plug on his participation.
It means Tom Gibney’s 6-1 former Irish Grand National winner Intense Raffles is the new market leader of the 34-runner field.
He’s been smashed in alongside McManus’ other big National fancy Iroko, trained by Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Dreams of a first Gold Cup-Grand National double since 1934 have been dashed.
“News of Inothewayurthinkin’s withdrawal has naturally shaken up the market, with Intense Raffles favoured to follow I Am Maximus’ lead and follow up an Irish Grand National victory with success at Aintree.”
