About the DLRRD Bursary Programme 2026
The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) is offering comprehensive bursaries to students who wish to pursue studies in Geomatics, Town/Urban and Regional Planning, and related fields in 2026. This opportunity is aimed at previously disadvantaged individuals and those from rural communities. Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The bursary will cover the following study-related expenses:
- Full tuition fees
- Prescribed books
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Monthly living allowance

The following study programmes are eligible under the DLRRD bursary:

Who Should Apply?
To qualify for this bursary, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently in Grade 12 (Matric) or have already completed Matric
- Intend to study full-time in one of the listed fields at an accredited South African university or institution
- Meet the required NSC performance levels as listed above
- Be previously disadvantaged and from a rural background
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
