CORK CITY starlet David Dunne has signed for French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.
Dunne, 16, turned down a professional deal at City to instead move abroad where he will join the Monaco academy that has nurtured the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Thierry Henry.

As he was on amateur, City are entitled to FIFA stipulated compensation – a five-figure sum – while Dunne’s schoolboy club Rockmount will also receive payment.
Dunne joined City’s academy in 2023 from Rockmount and has been in and around the first team this season making three substitute appearances.
Cork City Head of Academy, Liam Kearney, said: “David is a very exciting young player with a bright future ahead of him, which is underlined by the fact that he has already got first team minutes at such a young age.
“Of course, we would love to have kept him at the club, but he has decided to make the move to Monaco and we wish him every success.”
