Celtic break silence over Rangers stars’ water spray with fans and Green Brigade police complaints

CELTIC have ‘raised concerns’ over Vaclav Cerny and Nedim Bajrami’s water spray celebrations in the wake of Rangers’ Old Firm winner in the weekend SPFL clash.

Fans behind the away dugout and in the front of the main stand were enraged when the Gers players raced from the dugout to hail Hamza Igamane’s 87th minute winner.

As the pair ran along to join the celebrations in front of the away support they were spotted spraying water bottles which hit supproters at the front of the stand.

It led to angry confrontations around Barry Ferguson’s dugout as police and stewards moved in.

We exclusively revealed police WERE probing the actions of Czechia international Cerny – which was spotted on Sky Sports’ coverage of the game.

And subsequent clips of Bajrami being pelted with missiles and firing water back at the home end were circulated on social media.

Hoops officials have now broken their silence over the incident and also reacted to complaints from ultras group The Green Brigade over the policing procedures at the game.

The Hoops statement said: “

Celtic Football Club has received complaints regarding the policing operation concerning yesterday’s match, specifically events away from Celtic Park.

We are reviewing our supporters’ concerns and will be looking into these issues.

It is important that these matters are addressed and the Club will be engaging in discussions with supporters and Police Scotland to understand the circumstances and events.

With regards to the match at Celtic Park, we can also confirm that the Club has raised concerns regarding members of the away team engaging with Celtic supporters with the relevant authorities. “

Earlier the ultras group blasted their pre-match treatment and complained over kettling tactics from cops in the vicinity of the stadium.

Some were licked out of the Sunday lunchtime clash – which Rangers won 3-2.
