A HEARTLESS mum has allegedly abandoned her newborn baby to die in an airport toilet before attempting to board a flight home, a Turkish court has heard.
Russian tourist Ekaterina Burnazkina, 29, is accused of giving birth in a disabled toilet at Turkey’s Antalya Airport before leaving the minutes-old infant and heading for passport control.

NewsflashThe Russian mum denies the charge of attempted murder[/caption]
Prosecutors told Turkey’s High Criminal Court that the baby was found jammed in freezing water with her feet submerged.
She only survived because a cleaner discovered her 12 minutes later and raised the alarm.
Security footage shows Burnazkina entering the lavatory alone and later rejoining her family.
She and her mother were later stopped at passport control and arrested last October.
But in a shocking courtroom twist, the mum – who denies the charge of attempted murder – pleaded to have her child returned.
She told the court: “I want my daughter back.”
The infant, now recovering in a hospital in Antalya, is said to be in a stable condition.
Burnazkina’s own mother has claimed she had no idea her daughter was even pregnant.
2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Influencer’s bold ‘princess’ dress goes viral for all the wrong reasons but she insists it’s ‘gorgeous’
INFLUENCERS are known for making rather bold fashion statements.
However, one style lover, Cartia Mallan has taken the internet by storm for all the wrong reasons, after people pointed out a rather unfortunate optical illusion in her outfit.
INSTAGRAM/cartiamallanThe London-based Aussie influencer recently shared snaps of herself trying on a white and red ombre gown for a London Fashion Week fitting[/caption]
INSTAGRAM/cartiamallanPeople quickly pointed out that the dress’s colour placement strongly resembled ‘a period stain’[/caption]
The Aussie content creator, who lives in London and has a staggering 486k followers on Instagram, recently shared snaps of herself trying on a white and red ombre gown for a London Fashion Week fitting.
The Di Petsa maxi dress appears to be unreleased and may debut on the runway at the brand’s upcoming show this month.
Other similar gowns from the designer retail for over an eye-watering £5,000.
But despite the extortionate price tag and high fashion label, web users quickly pointed out that the colour placement strongly resembled something many fear during that time of the month – a period stain.
However, the influencer, 26, was seemingly unaware of the unfortunate fact, posting to her socials saying she thought it was “gorgeous” and that it made her “feel like a mermaid princess.”
One person immediately commented that it looked like a “period nightmare” while another said it reminded them of “when I have a leak”.
The quips kept on flowing, with someone else joking: ”Free bleed, but make it fashion.”
“Looks like your period has spread,” read another comment, as was, “Girl, do you need a tampon?”
“It’s giving … period,” chimed in an Instagram user.
After seeing the comments, the 26-year-old fashionista jumped in on the banter, responding to the tampon remark with the hashtag #freetheperiod.
Cartia – who appeared to not have realised this illusion up until now – also laughed off another fan’s comment, writing: “HAHAHAHHA, why is this so funny to me?”
It’s unknown whether the period design was intentional.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES
DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.
Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.
During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.
Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.
The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.
“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.
“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”
The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.
They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.
“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”
Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
All are available online and in storesGarrett White

A CANNABIS addict mum has been found guilty of murdering her two sons then leaving their bodies in a bunk bed for their dad to find.
Kara Alexander drowned or smothered two-year-old Elijah Thomas and Marley Thomas, five, at home in Dagenham, East London.
Central NewsMarley and Elijah Thomas were found dead by their dad[/caption]
Central NewsKara Alexander has been found guilty of murder[/caption]
The 47-year-old then barricaded the door to their bedroom using her sons’ toys.
When their dad Selvin Thomas came to pick up Elijah and Marley for a weekend visit, Alexander claimed they were sleeping.
The dad went to their bedroom to find the boys were both lying dead together on the lower bunk of their shared bed.
He ran downstairs screaming “Kara, Kara, Kara. What the f**k? You’ve killed my children.”
Alexander has now been found guilty of murder after just six hours and 54 minutes of jury deliberation.
Kingston Crown Court heard Selvin and Alexander had split up three months before the horror.
On December 16, 2022, he had gone to her home after growing concerned he had not heard from her.
Prosecutor Philip Evans KC said: “[Elijah and Marley] were bunched up together and it looked like they were asleep.
“They had the duvet up to their shoulders, only their faces were visible.
“He touched Marley’s face, on his right cheek, and he was freezing cold and hard. He knew immediately that they were dead and thought they had been dead for some time.”
Selvin called 999 to tell them “she killed my children” as Alexander fled the home through gardens on to a neighbouring street.
The dad continued: “I said ‘Where are the children?’ she said ‘They’re in bed’, so I’ve gone to check on my children.
“She’s run across, now she’s running to a neighbour’s house, jumped the fence, my children are dead, they’re dead. They’re both in the bottom bunk freezing cold.
“She’s lost her mind and I don’t know what she’s done, she’s killed both my little boys.”
There was no sign that anyone else other than her had entered or been in the house, the court heard.
Following her arrest, Alexander told police she had left the boys in the bath alone while she smoked cannabis.
Post mortems found traces of the drug in the blood of both Elijah and Marley.
The mum had been in contact with at least two dealers during this period, the court heard.
Mr Evans said: “Such exposure could have occurred from being in an enclosed space where cannabis was being smoked in the hours leading up to death.”
Alexander admitted two charges of gross negligence manslaughter by breaching the duty of care she owed her sons but the prosecution did not accept her pleas.
The mum will be sentenced on a later date.

Sarah Montague was forced to apologise on today’s showAlamyJohn used a racial slur live on airBBCHe is known for playing Dot Cotton’s son NickBBC
And John Altman, who starred as Nasty Nick Cotton, appeared on Radio 4 to reflect on his memories from the set.
Speaking to Sarah Montague about working with the late June Brown, who played Dot Cotton, he said: “During the early days with June it was really flexible.
“You didn’t have to ask permission to have a cigarette. You could just do it. June and I used to improvise…
“We knew our characters so well. We wouldn’t change it drastically. We’d put in words or a line here and there to make it comical. Just to liven it up a bit.”
John first appeared on the soap in 1985 and was last seen in Walford in 2015.
And he told how different filming is these days compared to the 80s, claiming EastEnders bosses once changed a racial slur in the script during a take.
Repeating the word, Nick said: “I suppose I can say it on air.”
But Sarah said: “No, I don’t think we can [say that].”
John insisted “people do unfortunately still say it these days” but she quipped: “They don’t.”
Sarah later said: “Can I apologise. It wasn’t appropriate in the old days, and it wasn’t appropriate now, for what John Altman said.”
EastEnders fans were treated to the return of some huge characters this week to tie in with the milestone anniversary.

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on I bought a £315 sofa off Temu and it arrived in two small boxes – but it’s HUGE, super sturdy & took minutes to assemble
A NEW sofa can cost thousands of pounds – especially if you’re looking for a particular size or one from a reputable brand.
But one woman has explained how she managed to get her dream sofa for just £315… by buying it on Temu.
Miiya took to TikTok to share a look at the sofa she’d bought on Temutiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaaShe spent £315 on the sofa, which arrived packed in two small boxestiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaaShe managed to undo the plastic – at which point the sofa started puffing uptiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaaAnd within minutes it was ready to usetiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaa
In a video on TikTok, Miiya admitted she was terrified the sofa was going to be more like a large dog bed – especially when she saw the size of the two boxes it arrived it.
But as she started unwrapping it, she realised her fears were actually unfounded, and it ended up being a “really big” sofa.
In the next video, Miiya showed what it looked like set up, as she said she can even jump on it without any concerns it’s going to fall apart.
“It was looking suspicious at first because it was like all wrinkly but it’s sturdy – it has a lot of support and it’s giving like cloud couch but on the low low, like cheap.“
In fact, the sofa is so comfy that every time Miiya gets on the sofa, she ends up falling asleep.
And as another bonus, Miiya’s cat hasn’t seemed interested in scratching the new couch like he would any other.
“I don’t know if it’s gets dirty easily,” she admitted, adding she doesn’t “want to test it out”.
But if it does get dirty, everything is “unzippable”, and “you can wash everything” too.
Miiya also splashed out on a new coffee table and a dresser from Temu, but said she was going to have to get a carpenter to assemble those and they need proper building.
“How much was it?” was, unsurprisingly, the first comment on the video.
To which Miiya replied that she’d paid £315 ($400), but the manufacturers had upper their price following the success of her video, which has been watched almost four million times.
“I am all Temu…but girl I never knew they had couches!” another person added in the comments.
“That couch is super cute and huge!”
“Yess girl, they have a lot of resale couches,” Miiya replied.
“Like they are from popular brands but sold cheaper.”
“My couch is from Temu and I am obsessed!” a third admitted.
Why is Temu so cheap?
TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices.
The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace – essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element.
The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.
According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.
The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs.
Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers.
It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe.
By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn’t marked up extra.
While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands.
“My whole apartment is Temu furniture including my couch,” someone else said.
“This is making me reconsider all previous Temu couch videos and now I want one,” another admitted.
As someone else added: “I wanna see all of the Temu furniture!
“Thank you so much for sharing.”
In the next video, Miiya showed the sofa after she’d had it set up for a few daystiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaatiktok.com/@miiiyaaaaaaHer cat was definitely enjoying the comfort of it too[/caption]

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Emmerdale fans spot huge clue which ‘reveals’ who really killed Nate after body discovered in icy limo crash
EMMERDALE fans spot have spotted a huge clue which ‘reveals’ who really killed Nate Robinson.
ITVsoap fanswere left open-mouthed earlier this week when it was confirmed there was another body left in the bottom of the icy lake after the horrifying limo smash.
ITVEmmerdale fans have spotted a huge clue which ‘reveals’ who killed Nate Robinson[/caption]
ITVITV viewers think John Sugden is hiding a dark secret and is actually a ‘serial killer’[/caption]
The arm of the body was wearing a bracelet identical to that of Nate Robinson’s that was made for him by daughter Frankie.
Last night viewers saw the body at the bottom of the lake wrapped in a tarpaulin and weighed down with chains.
Eagle-eyed fans are convinced there John Sugden murdered Nate after they spotted a very similar-looking tarpaulin used when he disposed of Anthony Fox’s body.
One viewer wrote: “Okay anyone thinking John had something to do with Nate? That tarp wrapping has got me thinking. Might have to go back and watch to see if I can spot the connection.”
A second pointed to this theory: “Nate was telling Mac to lay off and give him.a chance etc. Nate left when Moira trapped Ruby in the barn. Before those scenes that was the last we ever saw of Nate, because I remember thinking Nate was going to be found injured somewhere. Now hes been murdered and wrapped up and weighted down.”
This viewer said: “John was and he was the one who said Nate had left without saying goodbye. Hope we don’t just leave Nate there now.”
A fourth said: “Oh it’s going to get very interesting isn’t it. I mean John knew what to do with Anthony and I can’t remember if he used tarpe to cover him but I think the clues will be in how he dealt with Anthony.”
“It was John he’s not who he says he is and is a serial killer,” this viewer predicted.
Someone else suggested: “John is not actually John he killed the real John and is impersonating him.”
While another echoed: “I think John has a dark side to him and he’s a serial killer.”
During one shocking scene, viewers saw Amy Wyatt plunge through the ice as she attempted to move from the limo to safety.
Her body shot down into the icy waters as the lake above began to re-solidify meaning she was trapped.
The arm of the body was wearing a very similar bracelet that daughter Frankie gave him.
Later in the episode, having been rescued by Tracy, Amy could be seen staring at Tracy’s matching bracelet but unable to speak from the cold, she was left trapped with her thoughts.
With speculation mounting that Nate has been secretly murdered and his body plunged into the lake, the star who played him, Jurell Carter, has now added even more fuel to the fire.
In the wake of the episodes, Jurell took to Instagram to share a shirtless snap and accompanied it with a very cryptic quote.
The actor made reference to his “weird job” before adding the Italian pinched hands emoji after all eyes were on his character’s arm and bracelet.
Jurell’s caption read: “A weird job but I wouldn’t have it any other way [pinched hands emoji].”
Nate hasn’t been seen in the Dales since September last year, with his sudden and swift exit never quite sitting right with fans.
Since leaving the village, supposedly for Shetland, he has had little to no contact with his loved ones, only sending text messages.
He was last seen speaking to John Sugden, after being falsely accused of sleeping with Cain Dingle’s wife, Moira.
With the true fallout from the limo smash set to be uncovered later this week – only time will tell if the body really is Nate and questions are sure to be raised about just how his body ended up there.
So far, two deaths have been confirmed: Suzy died almost instantly, as well as another victim of the limo crash en route to hospital.
Soaps are no stranger to dramatic stunts in the storylines. Not only do these moments create a spectacle for viewers, they also fundamentally change characters’ lives.
Here is a look at some of the biggest soap stunts from over the years.
CORONATION STREET
Tram crash (2010): The ITV soap marked its 50th anniversary with a intense tram crash – and live episode to boot. Overall, the crash and its effects were broadcast across a week in December 2010. Its resulting chaos saw regular characters Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold) and Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) die.
Richard Hillman tries to kill the Platts (2003): Of all the men unlucky-in-love Gail tied the knot with, Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) is probably the one she regrets most in hindsight. In 2003, murderer Richard tried to kill his step-family: first by gassing them with car fumes and then driving Gail (Helen Worth), Sarah (Tina O’Brien), David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Bethany (Amy and Emily Walton) into a canal.
EASTENDERS
Queen Vic fire (2010): In September 2010, EastEnders bid farewell to matriarch Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) as a permanent fixture on the soap – she returned as a guest before the character’s death in 2016. In the build-up to her initial exit, Peggy had trapped crack cocaine-addicted son Phil (Steve McFadden) in the Queen Vic. However, he escaped and set the boozer on fire.
Bus crash (2017): In April 2017, a total of 11 Albert Square residents had their lives at risk in a terrifying bus crash. The stunt saw a double decker bus – the 764 to Barking – lose control and crash through the Albert Square market before hitting a low-level bridge. Notable passengers at the time included Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper).
EMMERDALE
James Barton’s death (2016): Interestingly about James’ (Bill Ward) death was that it came in a spiral of events. After wife Emma (Gillian Kearney) locked James up in a jealous rage, he escaped and they tussled on a bridge over the bypass. Emma pushed him and James fell into traffic, in turn causing a 12-vehicle pile up, As well as James dying, key characters including Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were injured.

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Meg to be axed by Netflix in heartbeat if she can’t deliver as she finally stops using Royals to cash in, expert claims
MEGHAN Markle will be axed by Netflix in a heartbeat if she can’t deliver – as she finally stops using the royals to cash in, an expert has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex’s new cookery show With Love, Meghan is set to launch on the streaming service next month – coinciding with her new lifestyle brand As Ever.
InstagramMeghan Markle announced the rebrand of American Riviera Orchard this week[/caption]
Instagram / meghanMeghan shared a look at a mood board to promote the new show[/caption]
NetflixMeghan’s new Netflix show airs next month[/caption]
Royal author Hugo Vickers said the reaction to the recent trademarking issues and plagiarism row sparked by the last minute re-brand from American Riviera Orchard exemplify the “hostility” Meghan attracts.
It comes after the mayor of Porreres in Majorca said she is considering legal action over the duchess’ new logo apparently copying the town’s centuries’ old coat of arms.
And the owner of family-run New York-based clothing brand As Ever appealed to Meg to change the name to avoid him losing business.
Mr Vickers said many new brands experience teething issues, adding that “there’s almost nothing in the world that’s new”.
But said the reaction to Meg’s U-turn highlights how polarising she can be.
He said: “She’s bound to be just being attacked because people want to attack her, and maybe actually, they’re also jumping on the bandwagon.”
Mr Vickers said such bad publicity isn’t likely to upset Netflix because it will “presumably like any amount of publicity that this engenders, because it’ll get people to watch the show”.
“A company like Netflix wants value for money… they have to deliver,” he continued.
“I suspect that if it doesn’t work, then it’ll get axed like everything else, because that’s what happens in the commercial world. You sink or swim. It’s a tough world out there.
“I think in the end you have to come up with substance, and it’ll be interesting to see what sort of substance is produced by this programme.”
Since stepping down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020, Meg and Prince Harry have been criticised for monetising their regal ties.
However, the duchess’ latest Instagram post, a mood board alluding to the new cookery show, ignores the royals completely – despite her adding: “From memory lane to the memories I’m making today…”
Instead it features old quotes from her now-defunct blog The Tig, as well as a drawing of her, Prince Harry and her late dog Guy.
Referring to the lack of mentions of the royals and Meg’s own family or childhood, Mr Vickers said it was “rather wise of her to do that”, because it could have “backfired”.
“We know perfectly well that she doesn’t get on with her own family…” he continued.
“As for the royal family, well, she has to be very careful about using them.
“We know that she has that connection, and she’s very wise not to push it any further, because I think that’s backfired.
“So you know, to be fair to her, she’s starting to branch out in a new direction.”
Mr Vickers added: “It’s reinventing herself. And that’s what people do, and that’s in a way, I suppose what you you have to do if you’re going to be a celebrity.”
Meghan Markle keeps 'reinventing' herself for cash while clinging to royal links AND using kids for clout
FICKLE Meghan Markle has to keep reinventing herself while clinging to her royal links – and she is shamelessly using her kids for clout, an expert claims.
Announced less than a year ago, the project is now called As Ever, ahead of its official launch to tie in with new Netflix cookery show With Love, Meghan next month.
In her Instagram announcement, the duchess, 43, said the change meant she was no longer “limited” to selling products from the part of Santa Barbara where she grew up.
But she failed to touch on the trademark issues that have dogged the launch, with officials saying she cannot have exclusive rights to “American Rivera” going forward.
Royal author Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “I think there’s a lot of sort of jumping in and then rethinking.”
He said this reflects much of the ventures Meghan and Harry, 40, have undertaken since stepping down as working royals in 2020.
“It’s always this sort of rebranding of themselves, and reinventing themselves so that they’re always in view of the public…” he explained.
“It does all seem a little bit…how do you put it? Incredibly commercial.
“It’s obviously aimed at marketing. But from what I read, all this has happened quite suddenly.
“There’s lots of applications being put in and things being registered, and so forth.
“I think it’s all a little bit sort of done on the hoof, to be honest.”
THe rebrand announcement video – filmed presumably in the Sussexes’ garden in Montecito – features Harry’s voice playfully telling his wife at the start “it’s recording” before she giggles.
Mr Vickers, pointing out the duke also featured briefly in the brand’s introductory video, said he’s still essentially the main draw.
“I was going to say ‘product placing’, but ‘Meghan placing’, I mean, we watch her because she’s married to Prince Harry,” he said.
“That’s the reason we watch her, and really the only reason, to be quite honest.”
He added: “I rather wonder what will happen if ever the day comes when she doesn’t need him. But that’s all in the future.
“I’ve said this a million times, but that is why we watch them – because he is Prince Harry…he’s put her on the map.
2She was quite well known before she got involved with him. But she’s extremely well known as a result of having married Prince Harry. That’s what it’s all about.”
The As Ever website also features a rare photo of their daughter Lilibet, and Mr Vickers said this, unfortunately, feels like a commercial decision as well.
“I’m personally rather against people using their children for advertising purposes, especially when their children are officially members of the Royal Family,” he said.
“They’ve been given princely titles. So, once again it’s exploiting the royal side, and also…we don’t often see the children.
“In fact, do we ever see them full on? We see the back of the head, occasionally, or we see a hand, or we see something. It’s all rather tantalising.
“It’s been like that right since the start. So I suppose that when they do appear it’s like gosh, there they are, they exist.”
