2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Rangers boss Philippe Clement takes shock dig at Jose Mourinho’s ‘defensive style’ ahead of Fenerbahce clash
RANGERS boss Philippe Clement says he respects Jose Mourinho’s achievements – but ISN’T a massive fan of his favoured style of play.
It was a surprise comment from the under-fire Ibrox boss ahead of the Europa League last 16 ties which will pit the Gers against the Portuguese football legend for the first time in competitive battle.

Mourinho is universally recognised as one of the finest managers in the history of the sport with TWO Champions League wins with different teams under his belt on top of countless achievements with other clubs.
These of course include a Uefa Cup win against Celtic in Seville in 2003 which made him a hero for many Gers fans.
But it’s true that his teams don’t always play fluent attacking football – and are often masters of the dark arts.
Presumably that is what Clement was referring to when he said: “There are different managers with different styles.
“He won a lot of trophies in a certain style.
“I like even more managers with another style, but the respect is there.
“It’s about winning in the end.
“And winning the biggest trophies you can win in the world. It’s normal to respect someone who does it.
“He is somebody who is more in the defensive style. I prefer more the managers who go full in their attacking force.”
Mourinho, who memorably did his coaching badges with the SFA at Largs, has only ever taken a team to Ibrox once.
It was a 2007 pre-season friendly which saw them lose 2-0 to Walter Smith‘s side courtesy of goals from Nacho Novo and Filip Sebo.
And speaking the former Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham boss revealed that Rangers fans STILL thanked him for ensuring that Celtic didn’t win the UEFA Cup back in 2003.
His Porto side of course defeated Martin O’Neill‘s team in Seville.

Mourinho said: “I could feel it immediately because the week before the game Celtic fans were already in Porto trying to buy tickets from Porto fans.
“Now, what I find in the streets of London and other places I still have Rangers fans thanking me for that final.”
Speaking ahead of the draw, Mourinho said he wasn’t bothered whether he got Rangers or Olympiacos but admitted that Ibrox was a great stadium.
He said: “If we have to go to Scotland we will go. Rangers have a great stadium. It doesn’t matter to us. It doesn’t matter who our opponent is in the first match we will play in Istanbul.
“Fred will be an important absence for us there. We will forget about the Europa League now.”

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Apple shuts down iPhone privacy feature for ALL Brits after Government demands access to photos, texts and emails
BRITS will lose access to a powerful iPhone security feature designed to protect you from spying.
It comes after the UK government demanded access to the private data of iPhone owners.
AppleAll iPhones in Britain will lose access to an important safety feature[/caption]
The feature is called Advanced Data Protection, and it’s meant to keep your iCloud back-ups safe.
iCloud is where your photos, videos, and texts are stored as back-ups – so if you ever lose or upgrade your iPhone, you can restore them on the new one.
This is some of the most private info an iPhone owner can have, so protecting it is especially important.
With Advanced Data Protection switched on, the contents of your iCloud back-ups are encrypted.
That means no one else but you can see them. Even Apple can’t view them, which means it can’t share them with the police or spies.
Apple says that the feature is meant to protect you, and that building a backdoor into the setting would put users at risk from hackers.
Now to comply with the Government, Advanced Data Protection will have to be removed.
That means anything that you’ve got stored in iCloud will no longer be encrypted.
Any of the info can be accessible by Apple, and ultimately shared on to police with a warrant.
The tech giant says it’s “gravely disappointed” that the feature has been removed for Brits.
“Apple can no longer offer Advanced Data Protection (ADP) in the United Kingdom to new users and current UK users will eventually need to disable this security feature,” Apple explained in a statement.
“ADP protects iCloud data with end-to-end encryption, which means the data can only be decrypted by the user who owns it, and only on their trusted devices.
“We are gravely disappointed that the protections provided by ADP will not be available to our customers in the UK given the continuing rise of data breaches and other threats to customer privacy.
“Enhancing the security of cloud storage with end-to-end encryption is more urgent than ever before.
“Apple remains committed to offering our users the highest level of security for their personal data and are hopeful that we will be able to do so in the future in the United Kingdom.
“As we have said many times before, we have never built a backdoor or master key to any of our products or services and we never will.”

2 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Columbine-obsessed pro-Nazi teen planned chilling mass shooting at Scots school
A TEENAGER obsessed by murder wanted to carry-out a mass shooting at his own school.
The boy “idolised” the killers behind the Columbine High Schoolmassacre in Colorado in the United States in 1999, which saw 12 students and a teacher gunned down.

AP:Associated PressAt the time, Columbine was the deadliest shooting at a high school in US States history[/caption]
The teen repeatedly spoke about doing the same at his own Edinburgh secondary describing the “Doomsday” when he would “clear it out”.
He also held racist and pro-Nazi views.
The boy – who the court heard identified as trans – had already been referred to a UK-wide programmed designed to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.
Southport killer Axel Rudakubana, who stabbed three young girls to death last year, was previously referred to the same scheme.
A large-scale police probe was sparked in the summer of 2023 after a social media photo of him at school in full combat-gear and carrying an imitation gun caused panic among pupils and parents.
The now 17 year-old – who cannot be identified due to his age – appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow today.
He pleaded guilty – via his defence KC Shelagh McCall – to a breach of the peace and a charge under the Terrorism Act.
The crimes spanned between June 2022 and July 2023.
The teenager had his bail revoked by judge Lord Arthurson pending sentencing next month.
Prosecutor Greg Farrell told how, on June 20 2023, the boy had turned up at school wearing boots as well as cargo trousers and had brought with him a military tactical vest and helmet.
Mr Farrell: “He was later seen at the school carrying an imitation firearm while wearing the vest and helmet.
“A photograph was circulated on social media. It was taken and published without his knowledge.
“The image provoked a considerable degree of fear and alarm among pupils and parents.
“Police were advised by a parent who saw the image.”
Officers went on to discover that the boy had a TikTok account which had footage of him in black combat clothes as well as a skeleton mask.
Mr Farrell: “One piece of commentary referenced school shootings.”
The teenager was immediately suspended.
It emerged the vest and helmet were part of a costume for a short film he had been involved in for a drama class. He had been the “kidnapper” and had used a “prop gun”.
Police, however, went on take statements from other pupils who knew the boy.
Mr Farrell: “They provided information that the boy had exhibited a variety of alarming behaviours over a period of time.”
“The greatest concern was suggestion he had divulged to various people a desire to carry out a school shooting similar to that which had taken place in 1999 at Columbine High School in Colorado in the USA.”
Classmates recalled how the boy “spoke excitedly and with considerable enthusiasm” when he talked about Columbine and other school shootings.
One girl said he “idolised school shooters in America”.
Mr Farrell: “In November 2022, he told her how he would go about carrying out a school attack.
“He explained that he would start on the second floor and that he would ‘clear it out’ using guns.
“He would then move downstairs continuing to shoot until police arrived, at which point he would turn the gun on himself.”
The boy described a possible mass shooting at his school as “Doomsday”.
He said it would occur on April Fool’s Day or his last day of sixth year.
Mr Farrell: “He spoke about setting up trip wires at fire exits and of placing ‘pipe bombs’ at the school.”
The boy claimed he would buy a 3D printer to help construct a firearm.
He was said to be so “interested” in Columbine that he stated he wanted to change his name “in an act of homage” to Klebold.
Mr Farrell: “One pupil told police that the boy wore the same black trousers, trench coat, cap worn backwards and circular glasses as favoured by one of the Columbine pair.
“He often made comments that he “looked like a school shooter’.”
The boy told another classmate that he would “place a bomb in every second classroom”.
He would then shoot people as they fled the building.
The boy further openly chatted about the making of what were described as deadly “pressure cooker bombs”.
The court heard he wanted to get a job in a gun shop and steal firearm parts “one by one”.
The boy told one girl he met online that he wanted to carry out a shooting as he was being bullied and was “fed up” being there.
He had also told her that he wanted to “poison” people by getting them to drink something.
His phone was described as being “full” of photos and videos of shootings as well as others of Hitler and Nazi Germany.
The boy had further claimed “n*****s are good for nothing” and that they “should be wiped out”.
The teenager was stopped by police under the Terrorism Act as he returned from holiday with his family on July 9 2023.
A number of his electronic devices were seized. There were various files on a mobile phone including about ‘homemade’ firearms and poisons.
The court heard he had 65 videos of Columbine and had added music which appeared to “glamourise” the mass killing.
He had recorded another clip of him at his own school which seemed to “mimic the actions” of the American shooters.
Police also seized a journal in which the boy had made various sinister remarks.
One stated: “I can’t wait to hold my gun again in my gear. Hoping I’ll get a bomb…kills this time. Will be unstoppable.”
The hearing was told the boy had previously been referred to the Prevent counter-terrorism programme due to concerns.
The first – in November 2022 – was as a result of worries raised by fellow pupils.
The visit at the family home included a terrorism officer attending.
It was said this initial meeting appeared to “go well” and that the boy “engaged” with the police.
It was then decided at that time the involvement of Prevent would end.
However, the boy continued to openly discuss school shootings although no further action was taken.
The second referral was then made in June 2023 after the image of the boy in the combat gear at school was circulated online.
A probe – sparked by the deputy head teacher – had revealed “a catalogue of episodes” of the boy displaying “a variety of alarming behaviour”.
The court heard a more recent concern was flagged up by the college the boy now attends of him allegedly remarking that he was “annoyed at getting caught”.
Defence advocate Miss McCall had asked the teenager to remain on bail pending sentencing.
She described the accused as “vulnerable” with on-going issues.
But, Lord Arthurson did not continue bail. The boy instead is expected to be sent to a secure-unit for young people or what was described as a “place of safety”.
