Bayern Munich vs Celtic prediction: Free betting tips, as Hoops aim to overturn Champions League deficit

CELTIC have a monumental task on their hands to overcome a deficit when traveling to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Last week’s 2-1 home defeat at least keeps the Hoops in the tie heading to Germany but have to defy the odds to move into the Champions League round of 16.

SunSport betting experts have previewed the game and selected the best bets, tips and exclusive sign-up bonuses from our leading betting partners.

Bayern Munich vs Celtic preview

The bookmakers price Celtic up at 28/1 to progress beyond this play-off round. That just about tells the story.

Daizen Maeda’s late goal last week keeps them in it heading to Munich but even a slender lead might’ve been too difficult to hold onto.

It’ll take the performance of a lifetime to progress and also breaking a long-term record.

Celtic haven’t won any of their previous 15 visits to Germany and NO Scottish side has beaten Bayern on German soil.

But they might well take heart from Bayern’s toothless weekend display at Leverkusen.

They failed to register any shot in the first half and NO shots on target at all during the 90 minutes.

Celtic were comfortable 3-0 winners over Dundee United and had the luxury of resting a couple of key players too.

Bayern Munich vs Celtic predictions

Tough to keep out

Celtic defended superbly for the majority of last week’s first leg and struggled to create anything of note going the other way.

But Bayern have the ability to blow any side away with a quick start and there may well be a point to prove after their sluggish showing on Saturday.

Will be backs to the wall stuff early doors.

  • Bayern over 1.5 first half goals at 23/20 – CLAIM HERE

Happy Daiz

However Celtic will carry a threat on the counter attack and Daizen Maeda will lead that.

He scored the goal that has kept the tie alive and was rested from the start on Saturday so comes here reasonably fresh.

Has been to go-to man in Europe and probably Celtic’s best player this season. Pace will cause this Bayern back four issues and no surprises to see him add to this season’s tally.

‘I want to be in bed all day’ – Luke Littler gives rare insight into hectic darts schedule and reveals favourite venue

LUKE LITTLER has given a rare insight into life inside the hectic darts schedule.

The teenage darts sensation has been one of the most impressive players in the sport since his breakthrough in late 2023.

Luke Littler of England celebrates a darts victory.

Luke Littler has revealed his favourite destinations on the darts tour[/caption]

Littler, 18, won the World Darts Championship in January to add to his Premier League, Grand Slam of Darts and World Series titles.

However, all the action does take it out of the Warrington thrower as he admitted the late nights can take its toll.

The darts usually end late at night, which can lead Littler to want to spend his free time in bed.

This is the case even when travelling the world to compete in different tournaments.

He told the Daily Star: “The schedule is tight!

“So I just want to be in bed all day, but when we go out, we go and have a look around.”

Littler also revealed that Berlin, Germany, is one of his favourite destinations.

He continued: “I always say the best place is Berlin for the Premier League of Darts. And obviously visiting New York.”

The Premier League of darts is heading to Berlin on April 3, but Littler has admitted that he could struggle to see the sights.

He added: “It depends where we stay.

“Some places, we go to Germany quite a lot.

“But usually it’s hotel, food, and then you’re off to the venue to play darts… We finish very late.

“And then you can’t just go to a salad place, but most of the time I won’t eat because it’s not a good time to eat at 11pm/12am.

“Most of the time you just want to go to bed!”

Last week, Littler won his first Premier League night of the year as he beat Luke Humphries in Glasgow.

But his joy was short lived as his beloved Manchester United were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Matchwinner James Maddison celebrated with his trademark darts celebration.

The Spurs star posted a picture of the moment and tagged Littler in the post with an apology.

Bayern Munich vs Celtic preview

Defeat at Parkhead makes the task of progression to the round of 16 almost impossible for Celtic.

Even victory might not have been enough last week, given Bayern’s ability to blow sides away at home.

The Hoops defended well for the majority of the night before conceding to a stunning Michael Olise strike on the stroke of half time. A lapse in concentration allowed Harry Kane to add a second just minutes into the second half.

The tie has been just about kept alive by Daizen Maeda’s goal with 10 minutes to go.

Brendan Rodgers might want to take notice of Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen, who held Bayern to a goalless draw on Saturday and restricted them to NO shots of any description in the first half for the first time in decades and not a single shot on target in 90 minutes for only the second league match in 20 years.

Might it be the perfect time to play them? Time will tell.

Celts registered 21 efforts at goal beating Dundee United 3-0 at Celtic Park on Saturday, while being able to rest a couple of their key players in the process.

William Hill make them 28/1 to progress and Bayern 1/100. So fair to say them progressing is quite a stretch.

Bayern Munich vs Celtic predictions and tips

Blow away early

This tie could be put to bed early doors, with Bayern having the ability to blow Celtic away in the first half.

They HAVE to respond to the poor attacking showing from Saturday and actually had five shots – with two on target – in the opening 45 minutes last Wednesday.

Celtic will be trying to keep the tie alive in the early exchanges but that might prove tough.

  • Bayern -1 first half handicap at 8/5 – CLAIM HERE

Ol or nothing

Michael Olise scored the opening goal in the first leg and is one of the standouts to perform here.

That was his first goal since mid-January but can be the attacking force down their right.

  • Michael Olise shot on target in each half at 23/10 – CLAIM HERE

‘It’s a need,’ shoppers gushing over cute £5 Primark top which is making fashion fans wish it was already summer

IT may still be winter with snow falling in parts of the country – but the team at Primark are ‘manifesting summer’.

The fashion brand has dropped an adorable vest top which is sure to be a hit for the warmer seasons.

Fashion fans reckon the top is giving Madison Beer vibes

But despite the chilly conditions, shoppers are already snapping it up.

Staff at the Perth store shared the cute cream, lace trimmed top on social media.

One said: “Manifesting summer to wear this cute number.”

The off-white ribbed vest, which is priced at just £5, also has a pink bow detail.

Fashion fans reckon the top is giving superstar style.

One said: “Madison Beer vibes.”

Meanwhile, others are dashing to buy the garment.

Another said: “Omg, so cute.”

While a third added: “Omg, it’s a need.”

And it’s not the first time the high street favourite has caused a tizzy with its t-shirts recently.

Last week the retailer revealed new bridal tops with a very on-trend bow twist.

The £8 bridal-themed graphic tees come in a selection of styles – with options for both the bride and her friends.

For an understated look, there’s a simple white T-shirt with ‘bride’ embroidered across the front in blue writing.

But there are also cute options that incorporate the continuing bow trend.

For the bride, “I’m tying the knot” with a cute bow image. And pals can snap up a “Bestie’s tying the knot” version with a complementary bow and martini glass graphic.

The REAL winners & losers of Love Island All Stars 2025… including Ekin-Su’s ‘rehearsed’ theatrics & cringiest comeback

TWO Love Island All Stars contestants will tonight be crowned winners – and choose to split or steal £50,000.

After that, they can look forward to brand deals aplenty and, hopefully, a happily ever after.

Fans weren’t impressed that Casey was back again but he’s had the last laugh[/caption]

But before that, we’ve drawn up a list of who the real winners have been over a stellar series… and the ones who might be leaving with worse reputations than before they entered the villa.

Admittedly, it’s a constant game of snakes and ladders, so the Islanders’ popularity can change as dramatically as Maya Jama’s slo-mo strut.

Let’s see who’s ultimately bettered their standing and capitalised on this sun-kissed opportunity – and who’s scored an own goal

Winners

Casey O’Gorman

After two unsuccessful Love Island stints, we all groaned when Casey and his eyebrows stormed the villa yet again, declaring “I’m back!” in that maniacal way that sends shivers down your spine.

But while, in previous seasons, he’s seemed to lack emotional maturity and sticking power, that all changed when he laid eyes on Gabby Allen

The two have gone from strength to strength, fully committing to each in tender moments that warmed our icy hearts.

When they returned from their first solo date, Casey’s face said it all: totally besotted, he’s a man redeemed.

He also happens to be the only one saying the things we’re all thinking by rationally asking “WTF is going on?” during the more dramatic moments.

A true voice of the people.

Gabby Allen

Gabby Allen in a white one-piece swimsuit for Love Island: All Stars.
Rex
Gabby Allen has put a tricky start behind her[/caption]
Gabby Allen in a bikini on a beach.
Rex Features
She was horrified to be confronted with her ex Marcel when the show started[/caption]

It could have all gone wrong for Gabs. In she struts, only to be stunned by the sight of her ex-boyfriend, Marcel Somerville… who she hasn’t seen since he cheated on her seven years ago.

Then, the public pairs them together (the fact that she managed to sleep with her ex snoring next to her is prizeworthy in itself).

But not only did Gabby rise to the occasion, coming to terms with Marcel and finding closure, but she also found true love – with Casey, of all people.

As mentioned, Casey’s riding high, and that’s largely thanks to Gabs, who sticks up for him when needs be, tells him when he’s being an idiot, and truly seems to like (love?) him just as much as he does her.

On a professional note, you can totally see her flexing her post-villa muscles on next year’s Dancing on Ice or Celebrity SAS.

Grace Jackson

Rex
Grace returned to the show after her relationship with Joey hit the rocks[/caption]
Woman in pink bikini at Miami Beach lifeguard stand.
She got her man Luca despite competition from Samie
Instagram

After last year’s doomed relationship with Joey Essex – which ended when he jumped ship for bombshell Jessy – Grace was clearly bruised and wary when she re-entered proceedings.

So, it’s no surprise that, when bombshell Samie sauntered in with her eyes fully set on Luca, Grace was in no mood for games.

Luca may have briefly wavered, but Grace stayed strong – knowing her worth and making sure that he knew it too, keeping her frustrations set upon him, and never taking it out on “the other girl”. In the end, she got her man, and peace and love resumed.

That in itself makes her a winner – but then, maintaining composure when her dad, via video-link, joked “Was [Luca] in the boy scouts? He seems very good at doing duvet tents,” in reference to her and her paramour’s mid-night PDAs earned her extra points.

After all, it’s bad enough knowing your parents are watching you snuggle up on primetime TV – but then having them tease you about it for the world to see? Absolute warrior.

Scott Thomas

Rex
Scott opted to leave rather than lie about his feelings for Tina[/caption]

ITV
He did the noble thing and hung up his trunks[/caption]

Hear me out. We know he quit amid some drama and turbulence, after copping flak from his fellow Islanders for admitting he didn’t have the feels for his partner, Tina; but Scott did the noble thing when he hung up his trunks for good.

Acknowledging that he was unwilling to lead anyone on, he added, “I didn’t want to be the guy to upset anyone in here, and I’ll keep my head high because I know I’ve been honest and truthful,” in a moving display that seemed genuine, earned and truly emotional (take note, Ekin-Su).

His heart-rending departure made our eyes misty and left us all respecting Scott that bit more for staying honest and steadfast, whatever the cost.

Elma Pazar

Elma’s previous claim to fame was entering alongside Maura Higgins in 2019[/caption]
Woman in orange satin crop top and skirt.
instagram
Her to the point personality has won her legions of fans[/caption]

Yes, she can be polarising and reactive. Yes, she let the early glory of being voted favourite girl go to her head, proceeding to float around the villa with an air of self-righteousness that, ultimately, sparked backlash both inside and out.

However, Elma has always stuck to her guns, fought for her friends, called out the rabble rousers, and has worn that big heart of hers on her eBay-sponsored sleeve.

She’s also thrown caution to the wind with her smitten toyboy, Sammy.

You can see them potentially fronting their own TOWIE spin off – or, if things hit the proverbial, she’d be a cracker on Celebs Go Dating.

Not bad for a girl whose previous claim to Love Island fame was being the other girl in series five who entered alongside Maura Higgins

Losers

Curtis Pritchard

Curtis Pritchard in Love Island: All Stars, Series 2.
Rex
Unlucky Curtis hasn’t managed to shake off his 2019 performance[/caption]
Curtis Pritchard from Love Island, smiling and shirtless.
ITV
His makeover since 2019 hasn’t turned his fortunes round this series[/caption]

He’s had a steady career since his 2019 debut, but Curtis has never shaken the infamy of uttering the immortal line: “I also want to be the person that gets up and makes everyone a coffee so everyone is ready for the morning”.

So, you’d think he’d want to prove himself beyond the merits of brewing instant Nescafé. Unfortunately, his love connection with Ekin-Su – though strong – has proved to be divisive, with many viewers convinced it’s a showmance.

It certainly didn’t help when he “unclosed” their closed-off romance to have a flirt with Danielle, and engage in some much-scrutinised hand holding, before running back to Ekin-Su.

Cut to them having a very strange, made-for-TV moment – where, in the space of two minutes, they yelled, had a mutual weep about missing their mums, then launched into the kind of sloppy snog to make a slobbering mastiff on heat jealous.

Maybe they really do love each other, maybe it’s all an act.

Tina Stinnes

Rex
Tina has waiting nine years to get another crack in the villa[/caption]
Woman in green bikini on beach.
Instagram
Unfortunately her latest stint was no luckier than the first time[/caption]

Poor old Tina. She waited nine years for her big comeback – returning to the show where she first found fame (and rejection) in series two. This time, she had an agenda: to right some wrongs made almost a decade ago and make Scott her one and only.

For a minute, he was all for it and, after the first kiss, he even declared, “That was worth the nine-year wait” – much to Tina’s delight. This really was the stuff of fairytales.

Alas, fairytale endings don’t come easy, and Scott didn’t just realise, nine years after he’d first come to the same realisation, that he just wasn’t that into Tina. He then left her partner-less when he quit soon after.

She coasted by for a while, getting into a triangle that no one seemed to want to be in with Danielle and Chuggs, before being eliminated alongside the latter by the nonplussed public.

We’ll surely see her faring better on Made in Chelsea in no time, but as for her second go at villa life, this one was a fail.

Samie Elishi

Instagram
Arriving late in the show meant bombshell Samie had a hard task to find fans[/caption]
Samie Elishi, Love Island Series 9 contestant.
Could she be back for a third stint in the villa?
Rex

It’s almost impossible to enter as a bombshell so late in the game and make something stick, so kudos to Samie for at least getting grafting.

Her mistake was probably going for Luca, insisting she was more his type than Grace and pinching him from the latter during a recoupling, even though – by then – the coupling now known as Gruca was pretty solid.

Unfortunately for Samie, save for an ill-advised kiss during a challenge, Luca remained committed to his partner, and gave Samie the serious cold shoulder – cutting the South African heat with an icy chill.

Just a few days later, Samie was unceremoniously dumped, though it wouldn’t be surprising if she rocks up for a third stab of success in next year’s series.

Love Island All Stars 2025 official line-up

Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders who are in the villa so far.

Bombshells

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

Here’s who has joined the villa so far:

Chuggs Wallis

Rex

On the bright side, he outlasted his previous 48-hour stint in series seven by a whopping five more days. As Iain Stirling would say, “Huzzah!”

The bad news is, Chuggs still struggled to forge any real connections, hedging his bets with friends Danielle and Tina, before being consecutively rejected by both ladies when he puckered up for a smooch.

It’s safe to say he’s not living up to his nickname, which – for some reason that he hasn’t fulfilled on TV – is short for “cuddles and hugs”.

Maybe he’ll be given another cameo on Made in Chelsea, but perhaps the ski apparel entrepreneur, who’s clearly proven himself in business, should recognise his TV ambitions have gone off piste and move on.

Fans have accused her and Curtis of being in a showmance[/caption]

Listen, the woman is an icon, and one of the few former Love Islanders to have compounded her villa success with star turns on Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing on Ice, and The Traitors US

But there’s no denying that Ekin-Su’s been forced to eat a large slice of humble pie – both metaphorically and literally, after having the most cream pies stuffed in her face during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.

So what’s the verdict? She’s got too much in her own way, sometimes overplaying her hand with her seemingly well-rehearsed dramatics and so-called “crocodile tears” in her bid to fully embody that main character energy and “perform” the role of Ekin-Su.

Ironically, we’ve all preferred seeing flashes of that genuine vulnerability lurking below the surface.

Whether or not her tears were real, Ekin-Su can rise to greatness once more. But she’s certainly proved she’s not invincible.

In fact, she’s human, just like the rest of us. Now, that’s really something to cry about.

Maniac driver murdered man and left another victim in wheelchair after debt bust-up

A MANIAC driver who murdered a man and left another in a wheelchair after a horror hit-and-run is facing life in jail.

Michael Day, 24, mowed down Thomas Bowers, 33, and Stephen Byrne, 53, in Glasgow’s Springburn in the early hours of April 14, 2023.

The shocking crime is said to have been sparked after a bust-up over money at a nearby flat.

Day – said to only have a provisional licence at the time – drove to the scene in a Vauxhall Astra before hitting the men as they walked in the street.

Mr Bowers never recovered having suffered fatal injuries.

Day was convicted of murder and attempted murder today following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

Jurors watched CCTV of the attacks captured that morning.

Members of Mr Bowers distressed family left the courtroom before it was played.

The killing occurred in the city’s Petershill Road at its junction with Auchinloch Street.

The Astra hit both men before reversing, driving at them again and then fleeing the scene.

One police officer who examined the footage said it appeared others then seemingly were “rifling” the pockets of a stricken Mr Bowers.

Mr Byrne gave evidence during the trial. He remains in a wheelchair due to his injuries.

The witness said he had been at a nearby flat to speak to a man who owed him money.

He admitted there had been “raised voices” at the property, but denied there was any violence.

Both Mr Byrne and Mr Bowers were then struck shortly after leaving the flat.

Asked by prosecutor Greg Farrell what he recalled about the collision, Mr Byrne stated: “I heard the revving of an engine, the lights and that was it.

“I remember trying to jump as the car came towards me.”

The witness said he was drifting in and out of conscious as he lay stricken on the ground.

A number of people came up the street and he asked them to call an ambulance for them both.

Day was said to have made incriminating remarks after the attack to a man and also asked in vain for him to help torch the Astra.

The car was later discovered burnt-out in the city’s Riddrie.

Prosecutors said Day then fled to a caravan park in Ayrshire and also got rid of a sim card from a mobile phone he had been using.

Lord Harrower adjourned sentencing until next month for reports.

The judge told Day: “You have been found guilty of murder and attempted murder.

“There is only one sentence and that is one of life imprisonment.

“No sentence will alleviate the suffering from those closest to Thomas Bowers.

“You showed a callous disregard for human life.”

Tributes to mum, 43, shot dead at pub on Valentine’s Day ‘by gunman who jumped off QE2 bridge’ as she’s pictured

TRIBUTES have poured in for a mum-of-two who was shot dead at a pub on Valentine’s Day by a gunman who reportedly “jumped off the QE2 bridge”.

Lisa Smith, 43, was shot dead by a man “known to her” at the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent, on Friday evening.

Cops are now scouring the River Thames for the gunman who is thought to have jumped from the QE2 bridge.

A car and a firearm were found abandoned nearby at 7pm on Saturday.

One source said Lisa – also known as Lisa Stockings – had been in the pub with a female friend before she was pronounced dead at the scene following the tragedy.

Tributes have now poured in for mum-of-two Lisa as she was pictured for the first time.

Grieving Teejay Smith paid tribute to his murdered mother Lisa following the horror shooting.

The 19-year-old posted one of him and his mum, writing: “My mum, the best woman to walk in two shoes.”

Teejay posted a number of snaps of his mum and one picture showed Lisa posing next to an Amy Winehouse statue.

Another showed her dolled up in a sparkly dress at a glitzy dinner event.

Posting a video of floral tributes left at the scene, Donna Kidd said: “Taken way too soon, our lady Lisa girl loved forever and always never be another Lisa.

“Girl love from all your girls.”

Marylou Tom Harber added: “No words so sad RIP Lisa girl to beautiful for this earth.”

Meanwhile tributes were left at the scene, with flowers and balloons, placed on a nearby section of grass.

One touching card read: “Our love and prayers are with your family, especially your boys and granddaughter.

“May they continue to frown knowing the love you always showed them.

“May your light continue to shine as bright as it always has.”

Two other cards read: “Dear Lisa, rest in peace.”

Many people had left Red Bull along with their written tributes.

Balloons with the words ‘a wonderful mum’ had also been left tied to a brick near the flowers.

Another balloon had the Disney mermaid Ariel.

One source said Lisa had been in the pub with a female friend before she was pronounced dead at the scene following the tragedy.

Kent Police have been undertaking an extensive manhunt to find her killer, with the latest being they found a vehicle linked to the shooting on the Queen Elizabeth II bridge in Dartford.

The suspect, named as Edvard Stockings, was later seen on the wrong side of the barrier 17 miles away at Dartford Crossing and is thought to have jumped.

Kent Police say a firearm, thought to be linked to him, was later recovered.

Detective Chief Inspector David Higham said he is “not ruling out the possibility that he may have entered the water.”

He added: “We are currently only looking for one suspect and do not believe there to be an ongoing risk to the public.

“Specialist officers continue to work with the families of both parties involved to support them following this tragic incident.”

The pub’s landlady Michelle Thomas described how the tragedy unfolded while she was printing off menus for Valentine’s Day dinner service.

Michelle says she heard two bangs as Lisa was shot, with the mum-of-two later being pronounced dead at the scene.

She told Sky News: “There was so much commotion – screaming, shouting, crying. People were outside, on their phones.

“We tried to get people inside the pub to consolidate them. People were only just starting to sit down, it was early on in the evening.”

As 30 people were seated for dinner, another 20 were situated in the bar as the shocking shooting began.

The landlady described the community as experiencing “absolute shock” as the pub reopened for the first time on Sunday following the tragedy.

‘SCARY AND DISTRESSING’

Terrified locals claimed they heard “three loud bangs” after the woman was shot dead outside the pub on Friday night.

Another revealed how petrified couples were “locked in” the pub for their own safety.

The villager, who lives close to the pub, said: “I heard three loud bangs and a bit of commotion.”

Zack Warne, 19, added: “It is shocking, this is Knockholt, not south London.

“The helicopter was up all night.”

Joyce Betts, 82, who lives nearby, continued: “My granddaughter called me and said ‘make sure your windows and doors are locked’.

“I could see lights outside but I couldn’t tell what was going on it was coming through that someone had been shot, I thought oh my God that’s all we need in our sleepy little village.”

One villager, who would only give her name as Julie, said armed police swooped on the pub.

She said: “My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were in the pub for valentines dinner. They were locked in.

“I was texting them making sure they were okay. There were armed police all over the pub.

“When they were told to come home they had to have their picture taken and they were escorted home by the police.

“It is scary. It was really distressing for them.”

Ray Picot, 70, said: “Just after 7pm I heard the shots. Bang, bang. I thought it was a road traffic collision at first.

“I thought ‘oh no not another accident’. The helicopter was buzzing around for hours.

“I’ve lived here 30 years and it’s a real shock. It’s such a quiet area.”

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics had rushed to the pub in the quiet village after reports of a disturbance at the Three Horseshoes pub.

There, they discovered Lisa who had suffered injuries “consistent with gunshot wounds” and she was declared deceased at the scene shortly after 7pm on Friday.

Following the horrific shooting, the pub released a statement that read: “Following the official press release of the tragic incident that happened on the premises last night – all of us at the Three Horseshoes want to send our sincere condolences to the victim’s family and friends.

“We also want to send our support to anyone else in the local and surrounding community who have been impacted by this.

“Please be respectful of everyone involved at this difficult time, thank you.”

The 54-year-old actor has played the role of Paddy Kirk in the long-running ITV soap since 1997.

Dominic has been a mainstay in front of the camera on Emmerdale for nearly three decades.

From various affairs to the utterly devastating loss of a child, Paddy has been at the centre of some of the most notable storylines.

However, fans of the ITV soap were left absolutely shocked to discover that he calls fellow soap star Joanne Mitchell, 53, his wife.

She has held a number of roles on the soap, the first of which came in 2003 when she played DS Karen Barnborough in two episodes.

She later made two more appearances as a midwife called Yeo, and later as CAFCASS officer Susan Davies across four episodes in 2009.

Her most notable role came in 2016 after she replaced Janet Bamford in the role of Sandra Flaherty.

This is the mum of Liv (Isobel Steele) and the step-mother of Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

The actress played the character for six years before stepping away from the soap in 2022.

She’s also had multiple roles on Coronation Street, which include the character Marsha Westbrook in 2018.

After meeting at drama school in Bristol, Dominic and Joanne decided to get married in 2003.

They share two children: sons Mickey-Joe and Danny Lee.

In a 2022 interview with Inside Soap, Joanne spoke about working alongside her husband on the Dales.

She said: “I haven’t seen Dominic at the studios yet since I’ve been back this time.

“It’s fun to be on the same show but I’ve not actually worked with him yet. We haven’t had any scenes together as our characters live separate lives in the village.”

I helped build F1 car driver tragically died in – I wasn’t prepared for that and it broke me, says Drive to Survive star

F1 ENGINEER Calum Nicholas says he was left “broken” by the death of Jules Bianchi after his Japanese Grand Prix crash.

The Red Bull engineer worked with the French F1 driver at Marussia as a mechanic back in 2011 – his first job in the paddock.

Nicholas worked at Marussia with Jules Bianchi at the time of his Japanese Grand Prix crash in 2014[/caption]

During the 2014 Japanese GP, Bianchi lost control of his Marussia and clashed with a recovery vehicle.

The weather conditions in Japan at the time were treacherous and delayed the race from getting underway.

Following the collision, Bianchi suffered a diffuse axonal injury which is caused by severe damage to the head.

Bianchi spent nine months in a coma before tragically passing away in 2015.

He was the first F1 driver to die from injuries that occurred during a Grand Prix since Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna.

Safety in the sport has come on leaps and bounds since then, with the introduction of the halo and clearer communication when a recovery vehicle is used.

That hasn’t helped Nicholas shake Bianchi’s death from his memory though.

Nicholas collected the wreckage of the car from the FIA garage and broke down in tears.

In his book, Life in the Pitlane, he writes: “I was not in any way prepared, at the age of 24, to have been responsible for building a car that somebody later died in.

“Regardless of the cause of the crash not being a mechanical fault, the guilt of having been one of the mechanics responsible for that car broke me for a little while.”

Since leaving Marussia at the end of that season Nicholas has become a familiar face on Netflix’s hit show Drive to Survive as a key engineer in Max Verstappen’s pit crew.

As part of the Red Bull driver’s team, Nicholas has helped propel Verstappen to four straight F1 world titles.

The Brit has also worked with Lewis Hamilton on the Hamilton Comission, a research project into diversity in motorsport conducted by the seven-time world champion.
