Rangers icon Allan McGregor spotted at popular restaurant loved by Old Firm heroes as owner hails ‘dining with legends’

ALMOST two years after ending his playing career, Allan McGregor has been right back in the thick of things at Rangers.

Now, he’s been spotted getting acquainted with one a top Glasgow restaurant that’s loved by the city’s big football stars.

McGregor, 43, enjoyed a trophy-laden time of things at Rangers across two spells.

He won three league titles, three Scottish Cups and five League Cups during his first stint at Ibrox before returning to the club under Steven Gerrard in 2018.

McGregor would help the Gers to a first league title in a decade in 2021 and also added another Scottish Cup winner’s medal to his collection.

At the end of the 2022/23 season, it was confirmed the legendary goalkeeper would be one of the big names leaving Rangers at the end of their contracts.

McGregor enjoyed a testimonial against Newcastle at Ibrox in the weeks following his departure and little had been heard of him since.

Despite failing to join a new club, the former Scotland No1 never officially announced his retirement as a player.

Then, just a month ago, McGregor made a stunning return to Rangers.

He was announced as part of Barry Ferguson’s coaching staff after Philippe Clement’s dismissal as manager.

McGregor joined fellow teammates Neil McCann and Billy Dodds in assisting Ferguson, who landed the manager’s job on an interim basis until the end of the season.

In the last game before the international break, the new coaching team oversaw a 3-2 Old Firm triumph for Rangers over Celtic.

Hamza Igamane‘s late strike secured a first Light Blues win at Parkhead since 2020.

Now, McGregor has been spotted at a popular venue that’s become a hot spot for stars from BOTH sides of the Old Firm.

He popped in for a meal at La Lanterna West End.

The Italian eatery has become popular for both Celtic and Rangers stars who regularly flock to the Italian eatery on Great Western Road.

The restaurant posted a picture of McGregor alongside head chef Luca.

They said on Instagram: “What an exciting night at La Lanterna West End!

“We were thrilled to host Allan McGregor, the legendary ex-Rangers goalkeeper and now goalkeeping coach.

“We hope you enjoyed your dining experience with us and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon. #LaLanternaWestEnd #AllanMcGregor #DiningWithLegends”

Rangers star Ianis Hagi is among the other footie aces to have visited the restaurant.

Former Gers boss Clement and Alfredo Morelos also, separately, enjoyed a meal at the venue previously.

It was a favourite of Celtic keeper Joe Hart while Jota has also made multiple visits.

Inside Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes’ divorce as pals hope they’re not ‘heading for Brad & Angelina-style battle’

RUTH Langsford and Eamonn Holmes’ divorce could spiral into an increasingly drawn-out battle, with pals admitting they hope the pair will avoid a Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie-style showdown.

The former This Morning presenters, who announced their separation in May last year, remain entangled in legal wrangling following disputes over their finances and needing to finalise arrangements for their dog, Maggie.

Eamonn recently took a week off GB News to sort out the divorce after rows over who gets what[/caption]

Ownership of their dog Maggie is proving to be a stumbling block

The process is said to be frustrating not only for Ruth and Eamonn‘s new girlfriend Katie Alexander, but also those closest to the couple.

A family source told The Sun: “It’s been taking forever on sorting the divorce, and it’s frustrating everyone.

“Eamonn took a week off from GB News specifically to push things along.

“Ruth has been patient, but she’s now saying, ‘Come on, this needs to be sorted.’

“She wanted it done by her birthday [March 17], but here we are.”

One issue that both sides want to finalise is Maggie the dog.

It’s been over a year since Eamonn has seen her, which has been particularly painful as he considers her a second child.

They continued: “Eamonn posted a video of her recently, but it was actually from over a year ago.

“Everyone’s asking why the divorce isn’t done yet. It’s all tied up with finances.

“At this point, friends and family are hoping it doesn’t turn into a Brad and Angelina situation.”

Their divorce, marked by eight years of legal battles and disputes, stands as one of Hollywood’s most prolonged and controversial divorces.

Eamonn and Ruth, both 65, broke up last May.

The Sun on Sunday revealed how Eamonn was confronted by a devastated Ruth after she discovered him chatting on the phone to another woman in April last year at their Surrey home.

The pair had a showdown, but a few weeks later she found messages on his shared laptop — triggering their marriage split.

It was the first time Ruth found out Eamonn was secretly in contact with another woman.

A source said of the phone row: “Eamonn thought he was in the house alone while he was chatting on the phone.

“But Ruth could hear him from elsewhere in the house and was totally horrified.

“She confronted Eamonn.

“It was quite a shock — for both of them.

“Eamonn had no idea Ruth was in the house at the time.

“It was a huge blow to Ruth, particularly as she had been devoted to caring for Eamonn during his physical health issues.

“To discover he was sharing intimate chats with another woman was a real kick in the teeth for Ruth.”

Eamonn has since gone public about his romance with relationship counsellor Katie, who at 43 is 22 years his junior.

Friends say Eamonn, who has been seen using a wheelchair due to mobility issues, may soon propose.

Following the split, Ruth, who was with Eamonn for 27 years, said: “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it.

“I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.

“Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job.

“I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”

She also insisted it hasn’t put her off finding love again.

She told Woman & Home magazine: “I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever.

Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on.

“You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”

Ruth hosts Loose Women twice a week and covers Thursday on shopping channel QVC, banking £2.5million last year.

Ruth and Eamonn's relationship timeline

Before the shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on UK TV – even with their signature bickering style.

Here’s how their romance played out…

1997 – The couple first meet after being introduced by mutual friends, two years after Eamonn splits from his first wife, Gabrielle, with whom he has three children.

1997-2002 – To be respectful to Gabrielle, the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight. Ruth told Daily Mail: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”

2002 – Ruth and Eamonn welcome their son, Jack, to the family.

2005 – Eamonn finalises his divorce with Gabrielle.

2006 – The pair begin to host Friday episodes of This Morning together.

2010 – Eamonn proposes to Ruth while at the Cheltenham Races, after asking Ruth’s mother for her hand.

June 2010 – Eamonn and Ruth marry at Elvetham Hall, Hampshire.

2016 – Eamonn undergoes a double hip replacement in the first of many health battles.

June 2019 – On This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn say the secret to their happy marriage. Eamonn credits “compromise, consideration and lots of conjugal,” while Ruth said it was “laughter and an equal marriage”.

November 2020 – Ruth and Eamonn are replaced on their regular Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in a ‘show shake-up’.

December 2021 – After a year of being moved to the bank holiday presenting slot, both Eamonn and Ruth left This Morning.

January 2022 – Eamonn debuted on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV in her long-standing role on Loose Women.

September 2022 – Eamonn undergoes spinal surgery after years of back issues including a trapped sciatic nerve.

November 2022 – Eamonn falls down the stairs of his Surrey home with Ruth and breaks his shoulder, requiring a new operation.

September 2023 – Eamonn has a spine and neck stretching procedure as part of his year-long recovery.

May 2024 – Ruth and Eamonn announce they have split after 14 years of marriage and a 27-year relationship.

September 2024 – Eamonn was spotted on a luxury holiday in Barcelona with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander. Ruth calls in a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.

The 5 easiest ways to have better orgasms – and why faking it CAN help

THERE’S no worse feeling than lying on your bed for what feels like hours waiting for that fireworks moment – only for it to never come.

Unfortunately, difficulty reaching orgasm is a common problem, and can affect straight women in particular, who enjoy the lowest amount of orgasms out of anyone.

We reveal the five ways to ensure your orgasms are explosive[/caption]

Sex expert Gemma Nice revealed what to do if you struggle to climax[/caption]

Thankfully if it’s a problem you have there are ways to help get your orgasm count up – and make them more explosive.

Speaking to Fabulous, relationship and sex expert Gemma Nice says: “For many women, reaching orgasm can be challenging due to stress, anxiety, medication, hormonal changes, and a lack of confidence.

“Stress triggers the body’s fight-or-flight response, reducing blood flow to the genitals and making climax more difficult.

“Medications, such as antidepressants, can also dull nerve endings, while hormonal fluctuations during menopause or postpartum can lead to vaginal dryness. Additionally, societal shame can create subconscious blocks to pleasure.

“Practising these tips helps to improve sex with a partner because you are learning to communicate better with each other and building up the courage to ask for what you desire.

“You start to know your body inside and out, what feels good and what doesn’t, so this allows you to communicate easier and get more sexual satisfaction and gratification.

“You will be able to share your individual needs to each other and this allows you to keep the sexual communication going by actively listening to each other as you will both be invested.”

Here, Gemma reveals five reasons you might be struggling to orgasm alone or with a partner, and the steps you need to take to finish with fireworks…

1. Don’t be a stranger

Familiarising yourself with what you enjoy will make orgasms more intense[/caption]

Many women struggle with reaching an explosive orgasm because they spend very little time discovering their own bodies.

Exploring your body alone can help break the barrier to finding out exactly what you like and can also lead to more enjoyable sex, both with and without a partner.

How to fix it: Create a relaxing atmosphere with candles and music, wear something that makes you feel confident, and explore your body without judgment.

Try using a mirror to see what areas respond best to touch and experiment with different sensations using your fingers or sex toys.

Familiarising yourself with what you enjoy will make orgasms more intense and effortless.

Pay attention to how different types of pressure, circular motions, and rhythms affect your pleasure, and use this knowledge to enhance your solo and partnered experiences.

2. Time out

Making an event out of sex instead of rushing through it can help[/caption]

The modern world tells us we need to be in a rush for everything, including sex.

This can often mean we aren’t present in the moment and are unable to relax enough to finish off strong.

While the occasional quickie can be satisfying, there is a better way to reach peak pleasure that will leave you trembling.

How to fix it: Edging. The technique means bringing yourself close to orgasm and pulling back multiple times before climaxing.

By stopping just before the peak and restarting, you intensify sensations and prolong pleasure, allowing for an explosive finish when you finally let go.

For best results, incorporate deep breathing to stay connected to your body and explore different speeds and techniques to find what builds the most pleasure for you.

3. Hit the (right) spot

We are often told as women that we need to focus on clitoral stimulation to get an orgasm.

While it does work, women have consistently reported that vaginal and cervical orgasms are much more satisfying, even if it takes more work to get there.

This type of orgasm requires deep penetration which can sometimes be uncomfortable for women.

How to fix it: Positions like doggy style can help stimulate the cervix, but adequate lubrication and relaxation are key.

If cervical stimulation feels uncomfortable at first, go slow and focus on deep breathing to help your body adjust.

Over time, you may find that cervical pleasure creates a unique, deep-seated orgasm that spreads warmth and tingling sensations through your entire core.

4. Breathwork

Determination of whether you orgasm or not can start well before you even get into the bedroom.

A stressful day at work, lack of sleep or pressure can all put you off getting down and dirty.

How to fix it: Something as simple as breathing exercises can help get you in the mood and make sure you finish with a bang.

Start by lying down, contracting and releasing your pelvic floor muscles in rhythm with your breath.

This strengthens vaginal muscles and enhances pleasure.

Over time, this practice spreads arousal throughout your body, making orgasms more intense and deeply satisfying.

You can also experiment with slow, intentional breathing— inhale deeply through your nose, hold your breath for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth.

5. Fake it ’til you make it

Woman in black bra lying on her back, eyes closed, mouth open.

Making noise before you hit orgasm can make it come about much easier[/caption]

Sex is so much more than penetration, as we know, so adding other senses into the mix can be the key difference to achieve a happy ending.

We’ve often been told not to fake it, but keeping quiet could actually be making it harder to climax.

In fact, making noise before you hit orgasm can make it come about much easier – and your partner will love the nods of approval.

How to fix it: The throat and vulva share similar tissues, and vocalising during sex can stimulate the vagus nerve, helping the body relax into orgasm.

By breathing deeply, keeping your mouth open, and allowing natural moans to escape, you can enhance sensations and make climaxes more powerful.

Practising deep breathing and sound exercises outside the bedroom can help integrate this technique effortlessly.

If you’re not used to making noise during sex, try practicing in private—humming, sighing, or even simply exhaling with sound can help you become more comfortable expressing pleasure vocally.

Finally, OhMy!Gasm sex expert Gemma also adds the more we understand our bodies, the more fulfilling and empowering our experiences become.
