Jackiey Budden made chilling threat to Jeff Brazier 2 years before he took legal bid to stop son Freddy from seeing nan

JACKIEY Budden made a chilling threat to Jeff Brazier two years before taking legal action to ban her from seeing his son Freddy.

The Sun revealed yesterday that This Morning star launched a legal bid to stop the model, 20, from seeing his own gran, 68.

Jeff has launched legal action to stop the Freddy from seeing his own gran[/caption]

Jeff, who shares Freddy and Bobby, 21, with late Big Brother star Jade Goody, has previously opened up about not seeing his youngest a lot – saying he often “storms out of the house” after huge rows and goes to stay with his nan in southeast London.

It looks like Jackiey and Jeff’s feud has been a ongoing for years.

Back in 2023, The Sun revealed the moment Jackiey branded Jeff a “c**k” after she sneaked in to watch grandson Bobby win his first National Television Award for EastEnders.

At the time she told fans outside the event how she had got audience tickets to watch his winning moment.

She is claimed to have alluded to a row with Jeff, who had the boys with Jade during their two-year-relationship.

Speaking to fans, Jackiey was heard saying: “I’m so proud of him [Bobby].

“He’s incredible. They didn’t know I was there. I didn’t allow them to know I was there.

“I didn’t want to see their dad. He’s a c**k.

“But I’m going to wait until they’re older before I let rip.”

Bobby triumphed on the evening and won the Rising Star award for his role as Freddie Slater in EastEnders.

He paid tribute to Jeff on stage and said: “This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my Dad.

“Over the course of the last 20 years, I’ve consistently heard him say ‘because I can’.

“It was a mantra, or a motto of his. And him just saying that – because I can! Why not?”

Big Brother star Jade died aged 27 in March 2009 after getting diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Jeff previously hit out at Jackiey and claimed she “overstated” how much time she spent with his sons.

In 2021 Bobby revealed he was back in touch with Jackiey after they lost contact.

Speaking to his fans on Instagram, Bobby said: “I didn’t see her for ages – for way too long – but I went to see her twice recently.

“And honestly if there’s one woman you shouldn’t underestimate it’s my nan.

“Honestly, she’s like a wizard! It’s nuts.”

But Jeff has now hired a leading barrister for the upcoming hearing.

A source close to the Brazier family has said of Jeff’s action: “This is something Jeff and anyone who cares about Freddy hopes will help keep Freddy safe from a relationship that has been incredibly detrimental to his well being for a long time now.

“The fact that he is going down this route shows how concerned we all our and how our efforts to keep Fred safe are being grossly undermined by other people.’’

During last year’s BBC show Celebrity Race Across The World Freddy spoke openly about his challenges with mental health and his relationship with his father who brought him up since losing Mum in 2009.

He said of his relationship with his Dad on the programme: “At times where I’ve pushed him away he has pulled even harder to pull me back in.

“I don’t think I praise my dad enough for everything he has done for me but he knows the love.”

Freddy regularly stays with gran Jackiey in South East London and has posted a video on TikTok of himself openly taking drugs at her flat in Bermondsey.

Three injured in bus crash at London tourist hotspot as double decker seen crushed at scene sparking traffic chaos

THREE people have been injured after a double decker bus crashed outside a London tourist hotspot.

Emergency services rushed to the crash site near St Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of the city at around 2.30pm today.

Video footage shared online shows the giant bus crushed against a flower bed outside a Co-op supermarket next to the popular tourist attraction.

Three people were treated by the ambulance service at the crash site, with one even being taken to hospital.

The crash also sparked traffic chaos as the road briefly closed, sending drivers on diversion, according to the AA.

Chief Inspector James Minney, City of London Police, said: “City of London Police officers were at the scene of a road traffic collision on 24 March 2025 at around 2:26pm on Cheapside.

“Three people were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service; one person was taken to hospital.

“The road heading northbound reopened at 3:30pm.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

‘It had eaten away at me’ – Franck Ribery reveals he nearly lost his LEG after horrific infection left him in A&E

FRANCK RIBERY feared losing his leg as he lay in hospital during the 12 “scariest” days of his career.

Footballers often speak of painful moments in terms of missed chances, failed transfers or unfulfilled dreams.

Ribery’s peak years came at Bayern, including 2013 Champions League joy[/caption]

And yes, they sometimes also speak of frustration over injuries when pondering their low points.

But for French legend Ribery there is no doubt what counts as the worst time of his two decades at the very top.

It came as he wound his career down at Salernitana, with a particularly unlucky end to his 13 months at the Italian club in 2022.

Ribery had what should have been a pretty routine operation to insert a metal plate into his knee.

But although it went well, he told L’Équipe his knee then “had no more cartilage”

And his situation then plunged perilously.

The former Bayern Munich winger, 41, went back to have the plate taken out about five months after his initial surgery.

But Ribery had picked up an infection and soon discovered how frightening the scenario had become.

The ex-Marseille and Fiorentina hero explained: “I took tablets for two months, the plate was removed but the infection had eaten away at me.

“It was so bad that I had holes in my leg. I had contracted Staphylococcus Aureus.

“I was in the emergency department in the hospital in Austria for twelve days.

“I was really scared. They could have cut off my leg.”

In the end, Ribery recovered well enough to continue life as normal.

And the traumatic time surely put into perspective the only sadness over the whole matter – confirmation that his playing days were over at the age of 39.

In all, Ribery won a then-record nine Bundesliga titles in 12 years at Bayern, also lifting the Champions League in 2013.

He also picked up 81 caps and a runners-up medal at the 2006 World Cup.

And how about these for individual stats – 176 goals and 211 assists in 784 matches.

‘Significant change & volatility’ alert issued by top Irish bank boss as ‘extremely concerning’ US/EU trade war looms

A LOOMING trade war between the US and the EU is “extremely concerning”, the governor of the Central Bank of Ireland said.

Gabriel Makhlouf warned the country is in a period of “significant change and volatility”.

He said forecasting in a time of “extreme uncertainty” is challenging, adding that he was reluctant to “speculate” on the impact of US tariffs on the Irish economy.

He said today that the views of the Central Bank are in line with those reflected in a report on the potential impact of tariffs from the Department of Finance and Ireland’s Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

It found that an intense trade dispute between the US and the EU would risk increased prices, fewer new jobs and slower growth in the economy.

Mr Makhlouf also said that the European Central Bank (ECB) must remain cautious about its next interest rate decision, despite inflation moving in the right direction.

He added: “I mean, as far as inflation is concerned, a lot will depend on exactly what is done, and not just what is done by the people imposing tariffs, but what is done in response to those, and not just by the authorities and how they respond, but also how businesses decide to respond.

“They may decide to change their supply chains. How consumers respond. Consumers may choose that they’re not going to buy particular products because of the price, there’s a lot of uncertainty in that.

“I think the job that we have to do… in terms of the ECB, is just being extremely vigilant as to what’s going on, try and understand what’s going on, try not to speculate about what might happen, and make decisions on the basis of speculation.

“I mean in terms of the economic impact on Ireland itself, I’ve seen the comments that the Minister for Finance has made in the last few days and the ESRI and the Department of Finance report.

“Our views are not inconsistent with those. We published our quarterly bulletin last week and basically gave a similar message.

“It is extremely concerning. My overall sense is that we’re living in a period of significant change, significant volatility, and the most important thing that we can do is keep a clear head, understand exactly what is happening, and then make a decision on how to respond and start talking about what our view is as to its impact.

“The last thing I’d want to do is to start speculating in a way that was just uncomfortable.”

Love Island star goes viral after explosive debate with Joe Rogan on his podcast and reinventing himself with new career

LOVE Island star Chris Williamson has gone viral almost a decade after he entered the villa – thanks to a theory about the Giza pyramids.

Chris, who also appeared on dating show Take Me Out, has completely reinvented himself following his reality star days and is now a millionaire.

The club promoter-turned-entrepreneur, 37, has earned the bulk of his fortune through his podcast, Modern Wisdom.

The podcast has a staggering 3.5million subscribers on YouTube alone, with millions more listeners on other streaming services, and it has seen Chris interview more than 100 New York Times bestsellers.

But Chris has now been propelled to an even wider audience following a debate about the ancient Egyptian pyramids.

Swapping sides, Chris appeared on Joe Rogan‘s hugely successful podcast – The Joe Rogan Experience – and they ended up chatting about a new and wild debate.

It has been claimed in a bombshell study that an ancient city is lying underneath the Pyramids of Giza.

Researchers claimed to have made the “groundbreaking” discovery  after using Synthetic Aperture Radar technology to explore what lies below them.

However, one of Egypt‘s top ancient history experts has slammed the underground city claims as “fake news”.

Chris said to US podcaster Joe: “Talking of pyramids, this new pyramid s*** that’s come out is insane.”

Joe replied: “This is insane. So apparently, through the use of radar, they have discovered that there are enormous structures underneath the Great Pyramid that go kilometres deep into the earth with coils.

“So enormous pillars and these coils. They don’t understand what it is. But whatever this is, it is a uniform structure.

“There are several pillars and all of this is very, very, very, weird.

Chris chipped in: “They are 600m descending down, there’s cylinders and there’s more stuff below it.

“And then there’s additional structures inside of it. Yeah, that was crazy.”

Chris’ chat with Joe has now been viewed more than 1.6million times on YouTube in less than three days.

Commenting on the podcast, one fan said: “Chris Williamson is a top-tier guest who really brings out the best from Joe.”

Another added: “Feels like Chris is interviewing Joe. His tact of reversing the questions and listening to Joe give his opinion is absolutely brilliant.”

The Sun told last month about Chris’ incredible transformation from reality star club promoter to a successful millionaire and interviewer.

Chris appeared in the first series of Love Island, starring alongside Josh Ritchie, Hannah Elizabeth and Luis Morrison, in 2015.

He coupled up with three women in two weeks but, ultimately, it didn’t work out for them and he was dumped from the villa.

Chris does not look back fondly on his time on Love Island, stating in a chat with Saida Khan he was “pretty bored” and having an ‘”existential crisis” while in the villa.

He told the BBC: “I was living this persona of the professional party boy – the big name on campus, the guy with the hair out front [of the club], that wanted people to need him, that thought he had found the culture and industry he belonged in.

“Then I got on to Love Island and had nowhere to hide from people who were the person I was pretending to be.

“I was there with people who were genuinely extroverted, outgoing, party people. And I was just playing a role…

“I’d convinced myself [Love Island] was something that made me finally belong. And I didn’t belong.”

The ‘trance-like’ eating disorder you’ve never heard of that affects 1 in 50 of us and 40 per cent of sufferers are men

WHEN you think of someone with an eating disorder, what comes to mind?

The eating disorder has different traits to bulimia and anorexia[/caption]

Around 40 per cent of those with the disorder are men[/caption]

This is the way eating disorders are often portrayed on TV, and it’s not exactly wrong.

Anorexia, when people try to keep their weight as low as possible, is most common in young women and typically starts in the mid-teens.

And a major part of bulimia is ridding your body of the extra food you’ve eaten by vomiting.

But these aren’t the only features of eating disorders, nor are they the only ones.

In fact, the most common – binge eating disorder (BED) – doesn’t usually present either of these traits and is rarely spoken about at all.

It’s characterised by eating very large amounts of food in short periods of time, with sufferers feeling like they’re not in control of what they’re doing.

Unlike bulimia, these bursts of overeating are not followed by compensatory behaviours, like being sick or excessive exercise

It’s also more associated with being overweight or obese

BED affects one in 50 people in the UK, according to Action Mental Health.

That’s three times the number of people diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia combined.

And it’s not just women; around 40 per cent of those with BED are men.

In the short term, it can lead to feelings of distress and self-loathing.

But according to the charity Beat, BED can have serious long-term effects too, including obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, difficulty conceiving, infertility, arthritis and gallbladder disease.

The condition can become so severe that one in three people affected have considered taking their own life.

It’s therefore vital to recognise the symptoms early and get treatment as soon as possible.

How is binge eating disorder different from overeating?

You may overindulge at Christmas or Easter, but this is different to BED.

Umairah Malik, Beat’s clinical manager, tells Sun Health: “Choosing to eat a bigger meal or snacking more than usual is a completely normal thing to do.

“If it only happens from time to time, this is nothing to worry about.”

People with BED, however, frequently eat very large quantities of food over short periods of time, without feeling like they’re in control of what they’re doing.

Sufferers don’t typically engage in compensatory behaviours, such as bulimia.

People often talk of entering a trance-like state when bingeing, or becoming preoccupied with planning their binges as they go about their everyday lives

Dr Joanna Silver psychologist

Bulimia is identified as uncontrolled episodes of bingeing followed by purging, like vomiting, excessive exercise or the misuse of laxatives.

“Despite how it can seem, like other eating disorders, binge eating disorder is not about food,” says Umairah.

“Often there are underlying emotional factors that cause someone to seek soothing and solace through a preoccupation with eating.”

Dr Joanna Silver, a psychologist at an eating disorder treatment clinic, Orri, adds: “Individuals with BED often find themselves caught in a relentless and emotionally distressing pattern of bingeing and subsequent food restriction, driven by a constant battle to control their behaviours with food, body weight and shape.”

How common are eating disorders in the UK?

BETWEEN 1.25million and 3.4million people in the UK have an eating disorder, research suggests.

Around 25 per cent of those affected are male.

Most eating disorders develop during adolescence and are most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 16 and 40, though they can affect anyone at any age.

Around 10 per cent of people with an eating disorder have anorexia, and about 40 per cent have bulimia.

The rest of sufferers have binge eating disorder or OSFED (other specified feeding or eating disorder).

Eating disorders have the highest mortality rates among psychiatric disorders.

The earlier someone gets help, the better their chances of recovery.

Hospital admissions for eating disorders have increased 84 per cent in the last five years, according to The Royal College of Psychiatrists.

The signs you may be suffering

While physical signs of BED can include weight gain, bloating, stomach issues, tiredness, sleep problems and poor skin, there are also many psychological symptoms which may show up beforehand…

1. Eating very quickly

Whether it’s in yourself or someone else, the first warning signs will often be changes in behaviour, rather than changes in appearance.

“These can include eating very rapidly and until uncomfortably full, and eating when not hungry,” Umairah says.

You may even struggle to remember what you ate during your binge.

Dr Silver adds: “People often talk of entering a trance-like state when bingeing, or becoming preoccupied with planning their binges as they go about their everyday lives in work or education.”

2. A loss of control

Feeling powerless or lacking the ability to stop eating during a binge is another sign you may be suffering from BED.

“Binge eating starts to become a concern when you experience a loss of control when it happens, and you feel that it is starting to take over your life,” says Umairah.

Bingeing can lead to self-loathing and have long-term effects[/caption]

3. Thinking about food all the time

Are you planning your binges? Are you spending a lot, or even most of your time thinking about food? Do you want to be alone in the house to binge?

Organising your life around bingeing episodes is another red flag, Umairah says.

You may go to extreme lengths to access food, perhaps even eating food that has been thrown away. You may also hoard lots of food to binge on.

In a 2020 study, 54 per cent of BED patients admitted to secretly eating, “concealing the act or evidence”.

4. Guilt or shame

Do you feel guilt or shame after a binge? Umairah says that this could be a sign of BED.

These feelings might be heightened if the binge episode led you to act out of character, such as by eating someone else’s food. You may also feel moody or irritable.

Dr Silver adds that these emotions can have a profound impact on self-esteem

“Individuals may develop a highly negative self-image, engage in self-judgement, or even feel disgust toward their actions,” she says.

5. Avoid eating out

If you suffer from BED, eating out can be a real challenge.

“Individuals often grapple with heightened anxiety and fear surrounding food, especially when eating in front of others, which can undermine their ability to engage in social eating situations,” says Dr Silver.

“Certain foods may trigger anxiety due to previous binge episodes, leading individuals to adopt restrictive eating habits as a way to regain control.”

This can make spontaneous dining experiences particularly difficult.

You may also find that you restrict yourself at dinner with the intention to binge privately later on.

Withdrawing socially and becoming increasingly isolated is also common.

'I didn’t feel the food going in until I was disgustingly full'

By Julia Sidwell

WHEN Stefanie Daniels, from Bushey, Hertfordshire, noticed extra weight around her middle at the age of 37, her confidence took a nosedive.

She was experiencing one of the most common symptoms of menopause – weight gain.

Stefanie had gone into menopause much younger than the UK average age of 51, after having her ovaries removed to prevent ovarian cancer when she tested positive for the BRCA2 gene, which increases the risk.

“It wasn’t just physical changes,” recalls Stefanie, now 44. “It was the mental exhaustion of fighting against my self-worth every day.

“My inner dialogue was so harsh and critical.”

In hindsight, Stefanie, now 44, recognises that she had undiagnosed binge eating disorder.

“I didn’t feel when I was binge eating,” Stefanie recalls. “You want to eat – it doesn’t matter what it is.

“For me, though, food had to be dry, crunchy and sweet all at the same time. I didn’t feel the food going in until I was disgustingly full – that’s when I would feel.”

Slowly, guilt would wash over Stefanie and she’d start the restriction process again.

“Bingeing became a vicious cycle of feeling out of control, eating for comfort, and then spiralling into utter frustration,” she says.

Stefanie says she always had a “love-hate relationship with food,” but the menopause exacerbated it.

How to get help

Someone who experiences at least one distressing binge eating episode a week for at least three months is likely to be diagnosed with BED, according to Beat.

“While it can feel upsetting and overwhelming to experience eating disorder symptoms, it’s important to remember that there’s nothing to be ashamed of and it’s completely possible to make a full recovery,” says Umairah.

“The first step would be to make a GP appointment as soon as you can.

“If you don’t feel comfortable going alone, you could ask a loved one to go with you.”

Beat also has a leaflet which offers guidance on what you should say to your doctor.

You may be referred to a specialist eating disorder unit, where you’ll be further assessed for treatment.

“This could take several forms, such as guided self-help, CBT or other kinds of talking therapy,” Umairah says.

“But in most cases, this will be on an outpatient basis so you can remain at home while being treated.”

'I was suicidal after binge eating until I was unconcious'

By Mary Gallagher, Senior Digital Showbiz Reporter

MEL C has previously told how her past struggles with eating disorders and depression led her to feeling suicidal while in the Spice Girls.

The 51-year-old singer said she would binge until she was unconscious, and scrutiny around how she looked made her feel “embarrassed and ashamed”.

In her autobiography, Who I Am, she said: “I would eat cereal and bread to the point of sedation, I would binge until I was unconscious.

“I never, ever made myself sick, but I tried. I felt so disgusting.”

Mel said she struggled to confront her problems and was “afraid” going so “far down that road” she would take her own life.

Mel, who joined the group along with Melanie Brown (Scary), Emma Bunton (Baby), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Victoria Adams (Posh) in 1994, added that comments from the public about how she looked and the size of her thighs made her also fear food.

“I was quite unwell for a few years, when I look back,” she said.

“I don’t know physically how I did it; when you consider how little I lived on and how much exercise I was doing alongside a brutal schedule.

“I was embarrassed and ashamed of it. I had to keep it a secret because even though you’re in denial about it, there’s still that tiny little voice going: ‘This isn’t right, you can’t continue like this.'”

Dr Silver adds that it’s important to be kind to yourself during this time.

“The last thing anyone needs when living with an eating disorder is judgement, impatience or hostility,” she says.

“Kindness and self-compassion is vital for recovering from an eating disorder.

“See moments of challenge as an opportunity to really rally around yourself and develop an inner, compassionate voice that cheerleads for something better for you.”

Remember, the sooner you get help for binge eating disorder, the better your chances of making a full recovery.

You're Not Alone

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

He wrote: “Around a couple of months ago, after a routine trip to my local doctors, I found out I have Testicular Cancer.

“I had surgery pretty quickly and have been off the radio/ podcasts the last couple of weeks having chemotherapy to best prevent anything from coming back.

“The reason I want to share this is that I feel like an idiot that I didn’t spot this sooner. And although I’m effectively cured and it was caught early, my hope is any bloke reading this will perhaps think to check themselves today. Or go to a doctor if not sure about any possible symptoms.

“Caught early, this cancer is so so treatable. It is most common in men aged 18-49.

“I also think it’s a tricky subject matter to talk about, but I’m willing to put my now one ball on the line here if it helps make that conversation less tricky for guys, encourages someone to check themselves and potentially saves a life.”

I partied with White Lotus’ Patrick Schwarzenegger & Sam Nivola in Thailand – their sex scene reaction was a surprise

BANGKOK certainly isn’t populated by prudes, but while I was there last month, a single sex act sent shockwaves through the city.

I attended the lavish premiere party for the third season of The White Lotus which took over the entire Four Seasons hotel in the Thai capital, attended by its famous cast and its creator, Mike White.

Man in pinstripe suit and woman in black dress at an event.
Ashleigh Rainbird with Patrick Schwarzenegger at the lavish premiere party for the third season of White Lotus
Two people posing for a photo.
Ashleigh with Sam Nivola, who plays Lochlan in the hit series

It was an otherwise classy and swish event – except all anybody could talk about was incest.

Rumours spread among guests that the upcoming series would feature unsettling scenes of an incestuous tryst, so I obviously had to ask the actors involved how they felt about the scandal they were about to create.

Stop scrolling immediately if you haven’t seen episode six – or if an act of intimate brotherly bonding is a step too far for your stomach like it was for poor Saxon Ratliff.

The third season of The White Lotus is set in Thailand, where the formerly sex-crazed predator Saxon vomits at the mere memory of his drug-fuelled full moon party exploits – apparently Patrick Schwarzenegger, who perfectly portrays the toxic figure, felt nauseous on set too.

Last week’s episode saw him strip shirtless and snog his little brother Lochlan, played by Sam Nivola, having been egged on by Chloe, played by Charlotte Le Bon – a scene some viewers branded “disgusting” and “a step too far”.

This week went many steps further, flashing back to the trio engaged in a threesome, with Lochlan performing a sex act on a delirious Saxon. There hasn’t been this much gratuitous incest in a TV series since Game of Thrones, and the topic is extremely taboo.

So how were they preparing for the inevitable backlash? Well, Sam might still not have experienced any of it, as he said he sensibly planned to avoid any reaction at all as we chatted over canapés of lychee roast duck curry and drank White Lotus-themed coconut cocktails at the Four Seasons bash.

Patrick, the 31-year-old son of Terminator star Arnie, grimaced at the thought. “I think it will be mixed,” he winced, slightly pleadingly, and perhaps a little optimistically.

Sam was nervously anticipating a furore. “Luckily, I’m going to be away filming when it airs,” he laughed. “I’m just going to switch my phone off and ignore everything.”

Sam, 21, is currently filming Driver’s Ed with There’s Something About Mary director Bobby Farrelly in Delaware.

While it certainly seems wise to wait until the shock has settled, the fallout on-screen is palpable.

Aimee Lou Wood’s character Chelsea spoke on behalf of viewers when she announced: “God, I don’t think there’s a drug in the world that would make me get with my brother.”

Saxon, of course, attempts to deny anything happened and dismiss it as a joke, before claiming he blacked out after swallowing the pill he had been peer-pressured into taking.

“We both blacked out,” he informs his blissfully unaware little bro who cannot remember the incident at all.

With credit to Patrick’s acting, Saxon visibly shrinks as his towering ego comes tumbling down, and his swagger turns to sweaty sheepishness as he becomes a laughing stock in front of the women he objectified.

The horror of the memory floods back to poor Lochlan during a meditation class after they arrive back at the White Lotus in Koh Samui, filmed at the Four Seasons resort on the island, and we will clearly see more of their excruciatingly awkward shame as the series continues for two more episodes.

Actress Chloe, 38, has previously laughed that Patrick – an ex-boyfriend of Miley Cyrus – was as grossed out by the act as Saxon, saying: “Patrick’s reaction in the episode is his genuine reaction. We all thought he was going to throw up.”

He has, however, since seen the funny side and laughed at the memes that the scene has already sparked, particularly amused by the brothers being labelled ‘Call Me By Our Same Last Name’, in reference to the homo-erotic film Call Me By Your Name.

Viewers were clearly forewarned about the characters’ incestuous storyline throughout the series.

In the first episode, Saxon reprimanded his brother Lochlan for offering to share a room with sister Piper, played by Sarah Catherine Hook.

Describing his sister as “pretty hot”, Saxon went on to say that an adult brother and sister sharing a room would be “weird” as they have “full-grown genitals”.

He then strutted around the boys’ shared bedroom naked as his brother gazed at his bare buttocks, seemingly awestruck.

The series also caused a stir when Jason Isaacs, who plays the trio’s father, accidentally flashed his penis to his family.

Isaacs believes the series is “trying to right the balance of how many naked women I’ve seen growing up on every television show and film” – the shock value is just an added bonus.

But amid the backlash, the show’s producer David Bernad has defended creator Mike White for including such a deeply controversial topic.

“Those big story turns are not just for shock,” said David.

“There’s a specific reason in terms of the narrative storytelling, and the larger thematic idea Mike is trying to get across.”

He added, perhaps choosing his words deliberately, that the storyline “culminates in a very satisfying way” – in which case, good for the brothers.

Patrick has since said the “outrageous” incident changes Saxon as a person and teases an upcoming change in his mentality.

“What is that going to do to who he thinks he is?” hints the actor.

“His thoughts on, what is it like to be a man? What is a man? What makes all these different things that he thought he stood for in the episode and the days before?”

Patrick continued to The Hollywood Reporter that the scene is not just “sensationalism” and will add to the characters’ story arcs.

“There’s always more than what just meets the eye of the shock value on the screen,” he insists.

Sam told Vanity Fair: “This is the defining pivot point for me and Saxon’s characters in the show. It really shakes up the dynamic of our whole family.”

Though he also tells them the scenes have already had an odd impact: “I have a lot of creepy old men DMing me.”

Both actors certainly seemed braced for the impact of the storyline, which Mike had warned would be “much, much darker” than previous series – though it would have been impossible to anticipate just how much of a stir it would cause.
