Rory McIlroy joins Scottie Scheffler in field for Texas Children’s Houston Open in penultimate event ahead of Masters
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER and Rory McIlroy headline the 156-man field at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
World number two Rory McIlroy joins the top ranked player in the field for the penultimate tournament prior to the Masters.

The Northern Irishman confirmed after his 2025 Players Championship win that he’d play one of the two events before the opening major of the year.
Four-time major winner McIlroy has opted to play at Memorial Park Golf Course instead of the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio – which is the last event ahead of the Masters.
Scheffler returns to Houston after narrowly missing out on victory last year.
The two-time Masters winner missed a five-foot putt that denied him a spot in a playoff with eventual winner Stephan Jaeger.
It was one of two runner-up finishes for the Texan at this event over the past three years.
McIlroy, fresh off his win at The Players Championship, will tee it up in Houston for the first time since 2014.
The event marks the final outing for both players before the Masters at Augusta National (April 10–13), where Scheffler will look to defend his green jacket.
Padraig Harrington and Seamus Power will also play in the event, all the action gets underway on Thursday, and is live on Sky Sports.
Elsewhere, Shane Lowry is on the cusp of the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking after Sunday’s final round at the Valspar Championship.
The 2019 Open champion’s putter went cold once again but he stayed cool from tee-to-green as he bagged his third top 10 of the PGA Tour season.
Clara ace Lowry bagged a T8 place finish the Valspar Championship on the final leg of the 2025 Florida Swing.
And there’s more good news for the Irishman as he once again surpassed his best ever position on the OWGR ladder.
The 37-year-old now finds himself just top sports off the top-12 after the tournament at Innisbrook Golf Resort.
He sits in a career-best position of 12th on the ranking ladder, just two weeks out from the 2025 Masters
Love Island star Tina Stinnes sparks concern with video of herself in tears after Scott starts dating Jessy Potts
LOVE Island Tina Stinnes has sparked concern after she posted a tearful video after ex Scott Thomas moves on with Jessy Potts.
Tina, who was coupled up with Scott on spin-off show All Stars, before he suddenly quit, admitted she had woken up feeling low.

The Made In Chelsea star, 30, shared a TikTok clip of her looking emotional and sad as she wiped tears from her eyes.
Tina told her fans: “I wasn’t feeling too happy, I woke up not feeling myself and not feeling me.”
In a bid to cheer herself up, she headed to a coffee shop for a matcha and a day out with a pal.
She went on to say: “I went to Selfridges for a bit of retail therapy, it always seems to cheer me up when I’m having one of those days.”
After enjoying some pizza and wine at a London restaurant, Tina added: “My day ended very well considered to how it started and what a way to cheer myself up.”
But some fans were left concerned, especially after the star posted a snap of her wrapped up in a pink fluffy jumper looking tearful.
One wrote: “I hope you are doing ok?” with a red heart emoji.
A second posted: “Honest and vulnerable and ALWAYS beautiful love you loads.”
The Sun revealed a few days ago that Tina’s ex Scott has a new love interest.
Last Friday Scott and Jessy Potts were seen checking out of The Londoner in the West End this morning after a romantic night in the capital watching Back To The Future the musical.
A source told The Sun: “It’s very early days but they enjoyed a fun night out together in the capital.
“Jessy is so his type and they would make a gorgeous couple. They both deserve some fun after tough times in the villa.”
It comes after Scott, 36, failed to find love in All Stars and quit the Cape Town villa early after struggling to feel a connection with Tina.
Jessy – who is strikingly similar to Tina in looks – has been single since her break up with Joey Essex in September.
Scott’s new romance comes not long after Tina revealed at the All Stars final that she was still in communication with him.

Man Utd target Jarrad Branthwaite ‘considering Everton future’ after being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad
MANCHESTER UNITED target Jarrad Branthwaite is said to be considering his future after being snubbed for Thomas Tuchel’s maiden England squad.
Branthwaite, 22, made his one and only Three Lions cap to date in international friendlies last March under Gareth Southgate.

The Everton centre-back was a surprise omission from England‘s Euro 2024 squad and had to watch from home as the squad limped its way to the final before being beaten by Spain.
Branthwaite had then missed the Autumn Uefa Nations League fixtures under interim boss Lee Carsley due to a groin injury.
He said his exclusion last summer had given him motivation to get back into the senior team.
However, new boss Tuchel did not name him for World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia, instead being picked by Carsley in the Under-21s.
The exclusion has prompted Branthwaite to further consider his future with Everton, according to Sky Sports.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United are all keen on his signature.
But SunSport’s Man Utd files revealed the Red Devils will only make a move for him if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
The only realistic route into the competition for Ruben Amorim‘s side will be through winning the Europa League.

Branthwaite is valued at more than £50million by the Toffees, and he is understood to be determined to pursue any move that would allow him to play in the Champions League.
This would in turn further add to his case to return to the England senior team.
He confirmed to BBC Sport that he was one of 55 individual players Tuchel had spoken to on the phone.
On the ex-Chelsea boss, Branthwaite said: “It is nice to have that connection with the new manager and to know he is watching you play and lets you know how you have done.”
England ratings vs Albania as Lewis-Skelly enjoys dream debut but Tuchel fails to solve Foden issue

By Tom Barclay
MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY made history and Harry Kane extended his own record-breaking as England sunk Albania in Thomas Tuchel’s first game.
Lewis-Skelly became the youngest player to score on his Three Lions debut and top goal-getter Kane notched his 70th international strike as Tuchel began his World Cup qualifying campaign with a modest 2-0 win.
New boy Dan Burn partnered Ezri Konsa in central defence at Wembley, while Marcus Rashford and Curtis Jones were also handed starts.
Meanwhile, Tuchel wrestled with the same issue faced by predecessor Sir Gareth Southgate – deciding where to fit in Phil Foden.
Left-back Lewis-Skelly, 18, slotted home on 20 minutes following a delightful turn and even better pass from Jude Bellingham.
But England stuttered after the break – until skipper Kane classily took down a Declan Rice pass and curved home the clincher.
Here’s how SunSport’s Tom Barclay rated the Three Lions in German manager Tuchel’s opening match…
