Mrs Hinch cleaning fans reveal £1 hack to banish tough stains around your sink – and it’s really simple
MOST people are all too familiar with the effort it takes to tackle stubborn stains around the sink.
Whether you’ve just moved into a new home and inherited a well-used sink, or your own sink has developed tough stains over time, sometimes soap and a sponge simply aren’t enough.

Fortunately, cleaning enthusiasts have created a Facebook group inspired by Mrs Hinch – the cleaning guru famous for her savvy hacks.
Posting in the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook group, one person shared how they had recently moved into their new home but were unhappy with the stains left on the sink.
They asked the group, which boasts 1.8 million members: “How can I clean this sink? Just moved in.”
The picture showed a white sink covered in brown marks, including stains around the drain.
The post received plenty of responses, with members sharing their top cleaning tips.
One professional cleaner commented: “I’m a cleaner.
“Bar Keepers Friend, a scrubber, and a pumice piece work like magic – only takes a few minutes, added bonus!”
Bar Keepers Friend, which is available on Amazon for £5.37 for a 250g tub of powder, is designed to restore and polish bathroom and kitchen surfaces, and also tackle limescale.
Several other members recommended the same product, with one saying: “Bar Keepers powder or cream and a green pad to scrub it.”
Another added: “Bar Keepers Friend powder is amazing for removing stains on a white sink.”
Others suggested different methods, with one person advising: “Fill the sink with water and bleach, leave it to soak, then give it a good scrub with Cif cream cleaner.
“Follow up with another soak and bleach. Pop the plug in a tub of bleach water while you scrub it.”
Another member shared: “Pour boiling water and white Harpic toilet cleaner into the sink.”
We previously revealed how Mrs Hinch cleaning fans also shared a clever and cost-effective solution to tackle mould.
And surprisingly, all you need to use is Listerine mouthwash to eliminate mildew.
One group member shared: “I found advice for my mum, and it said to use mouthwash because she had really bad mould on the walls.

“She tried it at the end of last year, and it hasn’t come back.”
Depending on which store you buy it from, Listerine can cost anywhere between 99p to £5.
The hack is done by simply mixing one part ethanol-based mouthwash and three parts water in a spray bottle.
Then lightly spray the solution onto the affected area and leave it to sit for around five to ten minutes.
Then wipe the mould away with a clean cloth.

‘Distorted’ Trump portrait to be taken down after president slams picture & claims artist lost talent as she got older
A PRESIDENTIAL portrait of Donald Trump will be removed from a US state capitol – just a day after the president blasted the work.
Trump railed against the picture in a Truth Social rant, claiming it was “purposefully distorted” and berated the artist behind the portrait.

Amid the outcry, Republican lawmakers in the Colorado House of Representatives requested the painting to be removed.
“If the GOP wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump hangs in the Capitol, then that’s up to them,” Democrats said.
Visitors to the Colorado State Capitol admitted the president looked chubby in the picture.
“Honestly he looks a little chubby,” Aaron Howe, a tourist from Wyoming, told Politico.
Trump lashed out at the artist behind the portrait, claiming she lost talent as she got older.
“The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst,” Trump said.
“She must have lost her talent as she got older.”
He also lashed out at Colorado governor Jared Polis, claiming he should be ashamed.
