I turned FREE doors from Facebook into the perfect garden pergola to protect me from April showers, I saved £1.4k
A WOMAN has left people stunned after sharing how she turned six free doors from Facebook into a gorgeous garden pergola.
Kaz enlisted the help of a pal to knock together the DIY project, and he began by nailing together three of the doors, before then affixing them to the wall.

He then moved on to the next two glass and wood doors, which he used as the other side of the pergola.
“Garden shelter made from free doors got on Facebook Marketplace,” Kaz wrote in the caption of her TikTok video.
“Will be finished tomorrow. Well pleased!”
She added that once it was done, she was planning to paint it and make it “pretty”.
In the next TikTok, Kaz showed the timber being fixed onto the sides and top of the frame – after which corrugated plastic was put on to make a roof.
It was then painted white to match the colour of the doors, before a patterned film was added to the windows of the one of the sides of the pergola.
Kaz concluded the garden makeover by adding a corner sofa, mini table and some potted plants into the shelter.
“Shelter is finished, now to make pretty with some lights!” she said.
“Now it just needs another lick of paint and some solar lights,” she added in the video caption.
“Very happy with the result, let’s hope the wind doesn’t blow it down!”
After getting the doors for free, all Kaz had to pay out for was the timber, nails, plastic and paint.
And given that a similar pergola is on sale for a whopping £1,399, she ended up saving herself a good chunk of cash.
People quickly took to the comments section to praise the epic transformation, as one wrote: “This is brilliant!
“We just put new doors on in house I’ve 6 glass doors in garage waiting for the dump.
“But I reckon now my joiner hubby has a spring project to tackle! Thank you.”
“Really lovely job,” another said.
Garden features that add the most value to a house

A well-kept garden can add anywhere between 5-20% to the value of a property.
Sellhousefast.uk carried out a study and consulted 36 estate agents, garden designers and property professionals from across the UK.
And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed.
- Shed – 82%
- Patio or paving – 76%
- Secure fencing, walls or gates – 72%
- Outdoor lighting – 66%
- Sturdy decking – 62%
- Water features eg. fountain or pond – 58%
- Modern garden furniture – 54%
- Artificial lawn/grass – 40%
“Looks lovely. We can sit out there next time I come over,” a pal of Kaz’s added.
“Job well done, it’s given me an idea!” someone else admitted.
“Looks fab,” another praised.

Emma Raducanu to face world’s richest tennis star whose family is worth £7.7BILLION
EMMA RADUCANU will face the “world’s richest tennis star” in the next round of the Miami Open after her straight sets win over Amanda Anismova on Monday.
Raducanu, 22, is looking on hot form in the States and has booked herself a spot in the quarter-finals against world No.4 Jessica Pegula as a result.

Pegula may be the fourth best player in the world, but she’s number one when it comes to bank balance.
The American star, who has seven career titles, has been labelled as the “world’s richest tennis star” after it was revealed that her family is worth £7.7BILLION.
Pegula’s father Terry, 73, owns NFL giants the Buffalo Bills, as well as NHL franchise the Buffalo Sabres.
While Pegula herself has earned in excess of £13.5MILLION from prize money during her time on tour.
She’s not shy to share her wealth either, with the 31-year-old generously taking four fellow tennis stars on her private jet earlier this month.
The 2024 US Open finalist offered a seat on her jet to McCartney Kessler, Zhang Shuai, Anna Blinkova and Yuan Yue after the ATX Open in Texas.
Pergula will be favourite to beat Raducanu given the 56 place swing between the pair in the world rankings at the moment.
But it may not be as simple as that, with Raducanu returning to form in recent weeks.

While the pair also have an even record against one and other in their two previous meetings, with Pegula winning in straight sets on the hard courts of Cincinnati in 2022, and Raducanu coming out on top on grass at Eastbourne last year.
Raducanu, who axed her most recent coach after just ONE match last week, has said she has found her “competitive spirit” again after getting the better of world No.17 Anismova on Monday.
She said: “The biggest thing I’m proud of is just finding the competitive spirit and being there for every ball and drawing that out of myself.
“I think that’s kind of been missing in the last few months and even a few years at times.
“Just feeling a lot of hunger, feeling on the court competitive, wanting to run down every ball, and that’s the biggest win I would say from this week.
“I’m walking on to the court knowing that I’m going to be there for every point, every ball. So far that’s really worked.
“Also, I think on the match court now I’m just thinking less, which is probably a good thing, and trying to just let my creativity come out because I think that’s when I’m playing my best tennis.”

Major motorway used by thousands of drivers every day to close TONIGHT – check your journey
A MAJOR motorway used by thousands of drivers every day is set to close tonight.
Drivers travelling on the westbound carriageway of the M4 have been warned by National Highways that it will be closed.

It will shut each night between junction 15 at Swindon and junction 14 starting today until Friday, March 28..
These closures will be in place from 9pm until 6am while resurfacing work is completed.
Drivers ave been urged to find alternative routes during the closures.
And it is not the only update for motorists during this time period.
Throughout the week, there will also be overnight closures near Wiltshire between Bath and Bristol, National Highways has warned.
It comes after part of the M4 was closed due to the fire near Heathrow Airport last week.
All southbound traffic between the M4 and J4A junction was stopped due to the incident.
The blaze broke out at an electrical station on Nestles Avenue, in Hayes, West London, at around 11pm on Thursday night and sparked a major power outage.
Meanwhile, the M4 was also shut over the weekend after a fresh batch of scheduled roadworks came into effect.
The A432 Badminton Road bridge in South Gloucestershire, which crosses above the M4, has been closed since July 2023.
The overbridge on the popular motorway was demolished after being closed to the public for two years.
It comes after concrete on the bridge was found to be cracking and damage to the post-tensioning system was discovered.
The M4 was closed in both directions between junction 18 and junction 19 from 7pm on Friday until 6am on Monday.
From March 21 until March 24, motorists were affected by the construction works.
And Britain’s busiest motorway also closed again this weekend leaving thousands of drivers affected.
The closures were on junction 10 of the M25, near Wisley in Surrey where the motorway meets the A3, and junction 11, near Woking, in both directions.
The closures were part of a £317m improvement works to add extra lanes.
National Highways have said this set of M25 closures will be the final ones for this project.
Last year, National Highways closed part of the motorway three times as it undergoes the multi-million pound upgrade.
The infrastructure project began in 2022 but “extreme weather” has pushed back the expected completion date to spring 2026, said National Highways.
