Aldi launches Nando’s dupe range – it’s over £53 cheaper than at the restaurant & feeds a family of 4
TREATING your family to a tasty takeaway seems to be getting more and more expensive.
That’s why so many Brits across the nation try their hand at perfecting the fakeaway – saving cash on expensive restaurant bills.

Now Nando’s fans can get their peri peri fix at home for a fraction of the price, thanks to Aldi‘s new Roosters range.
The German retailer has got a whole load of mouth-watering food available, with a familiar chilli-shaped spice chart to help you choose.
Whether you’re a lemon and herb lover, medium spice fan or prefer your spice-levels hot, there’s something for everyone.
The range, which uses 100% British chicken, hits Aldi stores April 3.
Aldi says: “No need to wing it – your fakeaway feast is here!
“Snap up our tasty British chicken and sides before they fly off the shelves.”
Aldi is known for its pocket-friendly pricing, and with their new range you can feed a family of four for £32.16, that’s £53.04 less than the Nando’s equivalent.

The new range has got a massive variety of menu classics, including a half chicken (£3.99), chicken breast sizzlers (£3.69) or chicken thigh fillets (3.29).
Shoppers are spoilt for choice with sides too – able to choose from rainbow slaw (79p), spicy corn on the cob (£1.99), peri-peri fries (£1.49) and more.
There are even yummy appetisers, like spicy mixed olives (£1.69) or halloumi sticks with chilli jam (£2.49) to choose from.
And it doesn’t matter if the family is divided on their preferred level of spice.
As you can choose the level of heat you’d like using the handy spice meter.
If you’d consider yourself a daring diner, the wing roulette (£4.99) will be right up your street – it’s potluck which spice level you’ll get, so it’s not for the faint hearted.
The range was last seen in stores last year, with customers rushing to stores to snap it up.
They raved about it online, with one shopper taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to tell people: “Don’t walk bloody run!! ‘Nando’s’ has come to Aldi.”
The happy customer had bought so much of the dupe dining range she’d managed to completely cover her kitchen counter.
Again, chicken lovers will need to be quick if they want to get their hands on the latest drop.
As with all Aldi Specialbuys, once it’s gone it’s gone.
The Wanted’s Max George returns to the stage for the first time since his heart op alongside girlfriend Maisie Smith
THE Wanted’s Max George has returned to the stage for the first time since his heart operation.
Taking to the stage alongside his girlfriend Maisie Smith, Max shared a backstage snap on Instagram and said: “Stage time…”

The member of The Wanted is currently starring in Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds, which is touring the UK and Europe.
In the show, he plays the role of Parson Nathaniel alongside his girlfriend Maisie Smith as his on-stage wife Beth.
Max, 36, was admitted to A&E last December and had heart surgery and a pacemaker fitted after doctors discovered a heart block, which caused his heart to beat abnormally.
He then recently revealed he had to undergo a secret second heart operation after his pacemaker wires were inserted too deeply.
But despite having to postpone The Wanted 2.0’s Manchester Cathedral concert in February, Max seems to have recovered.
He was originally announced for the 2025 tour of Jeff Wayne’s musical back in April 2024.

A week ago he spoke out about his recovery ahead of the tour, confirming he would be heading on the road.
“It’s been a long road trip since December.. but we got here!
“Currently in rehearsals for Jeff Wayne’s ‘The War of The Worlds’ and it’s gonna be EPIC. Another arena tour to tick off the bucket list.. including the Co op Live Arena in my hometown for the first time!
“I’m playing Parson Nathaniel, Maisie is playing Beth (my wife) and Liam Neeson has a great right hook .. SPOILER ALERT.
“Genuinely can’t wait to do this… starting the 28th March,” he penned on Instagram.
Max also recently said: “Hey everyone! I’m absolutely buzzing that I’m still able to perform as Parson Nathaniel in The War Of The Worlds.
“Obviously, the last few months have been rough, but after a lot of hard work and rehabilitation, I’m back to my best and I’ll be performing throughout the whole tour.
“Getting to do this with Maisie is an experience I’m sure I’ll never forget.”
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday recently, Max opened up about his health and scary second operation.
“I was trying to get back to good health but was still having a flickering sensation for weeks after I had my pacemaker fitted and it was gradually getting worse and worse.
“When my heart rate went up, it was causing a shock in my heart which was making me jump all the time.
“My chest was shaking,” he added.
After several visits to the hospital, it was only when a representative from Max’s pacemaker company Medtronic was visiting the ward by chance, that they were able to get to the bottom of his discomfort.
He was booked in for his second operation straight away, on January 15, but was warned that the rare situation could cause a dangerous bleed on his heart.
He said: “The night before, I was really nervous, I didn’t sleep much.
“I was worried it could go wrong again and felt anxious that it could bleed out.”
But the operation went well and he was “pleased it had gone successfully”.

‘The value is crazy’ – RTE star Maggie Molloy gushes over fairytale properties on new season of fan fave show
WHO hasn’t daydreamed about packing up, leaving behind drizzly Ireland, and starting afresh in a cosy cottage in Tuscany or a sun-soaked villa in the south of France?
It’s wishful thinking for most, but for those meeting presenter Maggie Molloy on the new series of Cheap European Homes, it’s not a dream – it’s a reality.

And it’s not just the house hunters who are the envy of the nation.
Maggie told The Irish Sun“It’s so funny, I was actually on the Today Show one time and Maura Derrane was saying to me, ‘You know, if you ever need a week off now, I’ll happily sign in for you’.
“I was looking at her thinking she has my dream job. The fact that I was so new, this was in season one, it was such a compliment.
“And I know it is; it’s a cool job. I mean it’s tiring, it’s hard work.
“You’re not getting days off at the end of it to kind of hang around on the beach. I was filming this one during the same time as Cheap Irish Houses. So it was literally back-to-back.”
She added: “But I am very grateful for it. It’s definitely a great job. I absolutely love it.”
Former graphic designer Maggie, originally from Wexford, first landed on our screens back in 2020 as a presenter of RTE One’s Cheap Irish Homes, after her Instagram account with a similar name, Cheap Irish Houses, exploded in popularity.
In it, she helped people to get on the property ladder by showing them affordable, often fixer uppers, around rural Ireland.
And with affordability at an all-time low, it’s an essential programme for offering viewers a glimmer of hope for finding their dream home without breaking the bank.
Its glamorous spin-off show, Cheap European Homes, which is now an hour long, has a slightly lighter touch, giving viewers the chance to swoon over some pretty incredible properties, with affordable prices.
And Maggie says viewers are in for a treat for season two.
The property guru said: “We’ve been to France, we’ve been to Spain, we’ve been to Portugal and we got to go to Italy this year, which we didn’t do last time.
“There’s some great value up in Northern Italy, and the people who are on the show are always shocked what their money can get them.”
Reflecting on the housing crisis that’s left many families feeling hopeless, Maggie explained: “Irish people have been conditioned from day one to expect nothing.”
Talking about the price of homes abroad, the TV star added: “We go out there and every single person I bring in is shocked about what their budget can buy. They’re already conditioned that they deserve nothing. And that’s heartbreaking.
“But I think the European one just gives us a little bit of hope that maybe, look, worst case scenario, you can always go here. The last thing we want is people leaving Ireland. We’re not trying to encourage that.
NEW PARTNER
“But I think there’s still this thing in people to just even own something, just something that’s their own, and we have lots of people on the show who just wanted to look a bit further afield for that.”
The show’s second season doesn’t just focus on bricks and mortar.
Maggie is now joined by Republic of Telly comedian Kevin McGahern who shows house hunters the cultural side of the area to get an idea of what their lifestyle might be like abroad.
Maggie gushed: “He’s brilliant at helping house hunters relax and really think about how their lives would be abroad,”
“It’s not just about buying a house—it’s about embracing a new culture, a new way of life.”
FAIRYTALE HOMES
Maggie’s enthusiasm for European homes is infectious.
Recounting jaw-dropping deals like a five-bedroom townhouse in the idyllic French village of Puy-l’Évêque for just €30,000, she added: “The value out there is just crazy.
“It’s like something out of Beauty and the Beast, a medieval village along a river. You’ve got cafes in the square, a bakery, heating, running water—it’s crazy!
“So, if someone comes to me with over 150,000 euro for housing in Europe, I’m like, you’re sorted. There’s not a bother on you getting a house.”
For Maggie, it’s all about showing people the possibilities.
The RTE presenter said: “It’s inspiring to see how brave people can be, especially retirees.
“They’re out there in their camper vans, looking for new houses, with the sun on their faces—and they look 10, 15 years younger! It’s lovely to see them being that brave.”
So, is she ever tempted by some of the jaw-dropping properties herself?
“I think in the past maybe I was just caught up in the Irish housing market and you know cottages and farmhouses and stuff like that. I probably would have said no.
“But now I mean the value that is out there is just amazing. I think I would be a retire to the south of France kind of a girl. Fabulous.”
Cheap European Homes will air this Sunday, March 30 on RTE Two.
Jeremy Kyle reveals how he really feels about controversial show axe as he bares his soul to Kate Garraway
“And that’s what I did. It was a mask, really.”
A life-insurance salesman and recruitment consultant before becoming a highly regarded broadcaster, Jeremy credits his career success to the work ethic he inherited from his parents.
“You have to get off your backside and go and do something,” he says.
He concludes: “People always said when we were doing the show: ‘You’re really lucky.’ And I always used to fire back and go: ‘It’s funny, the harder I work the luckier I seem to get.’”
