Future of hit Channel 4 series revealed after show star walked out and quit after three years

According to Channel 4‘s website, the search is currently underway for the next batch of contestants.

The deadline for applications is Monday, April 14 – with home potters encouraged to “showcase their talent”.

It comes as former judge Rose Schmits walked out on the show last October.

A post from the show’s official social media was the first to announce her exit.

However, Rose quickly swooped in to offer some clarification over her exit.

Writing online, a post from the show read: “A massive thank you to @RoseKilnWitch who is leaving the show after four series as our kiln tech.

“Rose has fired everything from jugs to loos and done her utmost to protect the potters from the kiln gods.

“We wish you and your bow ties the best for the future.”

However, Rose was quick to clarify that she wasn’t axed and admitted she quit after the show became “not worth it”.

The star said: “This was fully my decision by the way, they did want me back but it just wasn’t worth it for me anymore.”

Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney – aka Sister Michael – has served as host since 2021.

While Rose was ultimately replaced by returning show star Princess Fingall.

Princess was a formerly a contestant and had been chosen to join the line-up of experts full time.

Channel 4 said of Princess’ appointment: “We’re thrilled to welcome Princess back to The Great Pottery Throw Down as our new kiln technician.

“Princess joined us as a potter last series and has bags of experience as a studio technician and a very special way with clay.”

Irish and Welsh choirs surprise fans with national anthem showdown ahead of Six Nations Championship clash

WELSH and Irish fans were surprised a battling pair of choir singers ahead of last Saturday’s Six Nations clash in Cardiff.

Ahead of Ireland’s 28-17 win against Matt Sheratt’s side, guests at the Voco St David’s Cardiff hotel were left stunned.

Ireland went on to beat Wales in the game before claiming their 14th Triple Crown

It all took place when The Guinness Choir from Dublin squared off against Cardiff-based Ardwyn Singers in a surprise pre-match performance of both national anthems.

The sing-off, organised by IHG Hotels & Resorts, the official hotel partner of the Guinness Six Nations, set the tone for the day’s big clash at the Principality Stadium.

Ireland’s rugby team were also staying in the same hotel, and were given a rousing rendition of Ireland’s Call before they went onto win a 14th Triple Crown title.

Ciarán Kelly from The Guinness Choir was delighted with the special performance prior to the clash

He said: “To surprise the hotel guests with a taste of home in Cardiff before the big match was an absolute thrill. Seeing the passion and pride of fans, united by the sound of Ireland’s Call, was something special.”

Ardwyn Singers’ Musical Director David Leggett added: “With excitement already buzzing for the game, what a great way to kick off match day in Cardiff!

“The shared sense of national pride is what makes these occasions so memorable.”

But Ireland vs Wales wasn’t the only musical battle before the big games last weekend.

Ireland securing now host France in Dublin in two weeks as they hope to keep their Grand Slams dreams alive with two rounds of fixtures remaining in the 2025 Six Nations Championship.

Meanwhile, Ireland interim boss Simon Easterby admitted that Ireland dug themselves out of a hole during the Six Nations win over Wales.

But the visiting tournament champions had to do it the hard way after trailing to their under-fire Welsh hosts in Cardiff.

And they managed to show their grit at Principality Stadium to turn the result on its head.

Easterby, who is in charge of Ireland due to Andy Farrell taking the Lions job later this year, says his team should have performed better against the winless Welsh side.

He said: “Pleased with the result but lots of things in the game that we feel we could have done better.

“We go down in the game, we go down a man and then we go down on the scoreboard.

“We came in at half-time and felt like if we played in the right way and did things better our way then we felt we could dominate them.

“We had a lot of possession and territory for 30 minutes, just didn’t quite get our accuracy right in terms of scoring the points that we needed.

“We knew that Wales would come back into it if we gave them an opportunity and we did that.

“I was pleased that we responded to being in a bit of a hole and we dug ourselves out and took the game away from them in the last 20.”

Hernandez, 71, lost his focus on the match as the cameras cut away to a pickleball match in Florida during a break in the Mets action.

The match featured a man and a woman playing the racket sport.

The man was running without a shirt on and the woman was wearing a bikini top and compression shorts.

This seemed to distract two-time World Series champion Hernandez.

He asked: “What are they doing?”

His co-commentator Gary Cohen could be heard chuckling,

To which Hernandez then admitted: “I’m distracted.”

The moment was picked up on by fans as it was clipped and share on social media.

One fan described Hernandez as in “midseason form”.

A second wrote: “The day Keith Hernandez retires from the broadcast booth will be a National Day of Mourning.”

A third commented: “Never change Keith.”

A fourth said: “Keith is the best.”

Another added: “Keith is a national treasure.”

Meanwhile, the Mets will start the regular season on March 27.

They will begin their campaign with a three-game trip away at Houston.

Following that they will play the Marlins in Miami three times before returning to New York

Their first home match will come against the Blue Jays on April 4.

In December, former tennis pro Eugenie Bouchard was rushed to hospital while playing pickleball.

She suffered a freak eye injury during a training session which resulted in a scratched cornea.

‘This is comedy gold’ cry Vogue Williams fans after hubby Spencer Matthews ‘cracks up’ following ‘hilarious’ book prank

VOGUE Williams has left fans in stitches after she played a “mean” prank on her husband Spencer Matthews.

The Irish podcaster and her reality star hubby Spencer are renowned for poking fun at each other online – but it seems Vogue has taken it to the next level.

Vogue read a fake page from her brand-new book

Vogue recently announced that she is releasing an autobiography titled Big Mouth – and she’s leaving no stone unturned.

But before the highly-anticipated release, the 39-year-old decided to have some fun with her family members, who have yet to see a finished draft.

In a hilarious clip posted to her Instagram, Vogue read a fake excerpt from the book to Spencer.

Vogue prepped her husband before reading the paragraph aloud saying: “Please don’t be annoyed, it’s meant to be funny.”

Spencer sighed: “Oh god what is it?”

The Dublin model then began to read: “Spen is a great guy, but had really bad problems with body odour when we met, I thought it was just his armpits, but it was just his body in general.

“He also used to have snots all over his face and it was pretty grim but I love him regardless.”

Spencer immediately stood up in shock and voiced his fears that newspapers in the UK would write articles headlined: “Vogue Williams says Spencer Matthews stinks.”

Vogue hysterically responded: “But you did stink.”

A frustrated Spencer then highlighted: “No, but they’ll print that as current.”

Vogue gave a cheeky grin and reminded him: “Okay, but everything I write in the book is true, so.”

She then interrupted his worried state and continued to read more of the fake book segment.

The mum-of-three added: “I can’t say the stench has completely gone away, and showers aren’t his favourite thing, but he is getting better.”

    VERY VOGUE

Vogue burst into a fit of laughter, while Spencer stared at her with an annoyed expression.

The irritated star said: “Of course you’re going to find this funny, but they’ll all print this as a fact. Like I shower every day.

“You can write whatever the f*** you want.”

The TV star laughed in her caption: “I never thought I’d get Spenno! He’s actually not too worried about what’s in Big Mouth… my favourite line is, ‘They’ll write that as current’, that he currently smells.”

    ‘I NEEDED THIS’

And fans were left “howling” in the comment section as they reacted to the funny clip.

Shaun wrote: “This is comedy gold.”

Sharon said: “Bless him, he really thought you meant it. So mean.”

Ali added: “These pranks are too funny, mean, but funny.”

Anita remarked: “I love how much he is cracking up at you.”

While Rosie commented: “I’ve had a very stressful day, I needed this, hilarious.”
