I’m a nan, 64, & I post bikini shots on Instagram…trolls say I’m ‘desperate for attention’ but lads, 18, DM me
A RIPPED nan who regularly posts jaw-dropping bikini shots on Instagram has revealed she has 18-year-olds messaging her online.
Lesley Maxwell, 64, from Melbourne, Australia, is a personal trainer and looks incredible thanks to her insane fitness regime.

The nan, who began working out at 50 after she split from her husband, said that not only has being active turned back time – but it’s also made her closer to her fitness-fanatic granddaughter Tia, 19.
The exercise-loving grandmother and granddaughter duo both have a large Instagram following, and receive a lot of attention from their photographs.
It’s not just men her age who compliment the nan – according to Lesley, she is constantly inundated with compliments from guys more than half her age – and some are as young as 18.
”If I want to show it [her body], then I can show it,” said the nan, who previously admitted she has no interest in dating blokes in their 60s.
“I have always been comfortable with my body but probably even more confident now that I’m feeling fitter and stronger.
“I love to encourage other women to be ageless and confident enough to wear what they want. Age is just a number.
“I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence but I’ve never dated a man my own age. Maybe because I’m young at heart plus having a fit, strong and toned body makes anyone feel ageless.”
The nan, who boasts more than 145k followers on her page, chuckled and said that sometimes the DMs [Direct Messaages] she receives are ”naughty” – which she doesn’t have an issue with.
”The guys are from 18, which is really funny. Sometimes they are really naughty and I’ll take everything as a compliment, and it’s really great that they even follow me.”
Although Lesley’s daughter Vanessa, 42, sometimes doesn’t feel comfortable with her 64-year-old mum sharing bikini shots online, Lesley said she’s not ”shy” about her body.
The grandma, who occasionally rummages through Tia’s wardrobe, said she didn’t like wearing ”clothes that are designed for a certain age”.
”People expect that they need to look and feel a certain way.”
It’s not just daughter Vanessa who doesn’t agree with her mum’s ”skimpy” snaps uploaded on Instagram – online, the nan has also faced criticism for her fashion choices.
One YouTube troll branded the 64-year-old ‘‘immature and desperate for attention”.
Another brutal viewer said: ”Sorry but she is not ‘hot’.”
Despite some of the harsh comments under a recent Truly video, it seems that Lesley has become a major inspiration for many.
One person hit back at the keyboard warriors and said: ”She does not look good for her age. She looks good for ANY age.”
”Amazing!! How she holds all that muscle at her age is great!” someone else was stunned.
”imagine being her husband you basically won life’s jackpot,” a third commented.
‘Health and fitness isn’t just a look’
Previously, the size 8 gran revealed her fitness regime and told fans can message her if they need tips.
Lesley said: “Health and fitness isn’t just a look.
“It’s a feeling… and there’s no better feeling than having a healthy strong body.
“The thing is, no one else can actually do the work for you. Even if you paid them to work out for you.”
How much exercise should you do and when?
There are guidelines issued by the NHS and the Government regarding how much exercise people should do each day.
People should be active daily, and avoid sitting for long periods.
The NHS recommends an adults – those aged 19 to 64 – should aim for 150 minutes of “moderate intensity activity” a week.
This works out to 21 minutes a day, or 30 minutes five days a week.
Or, they could do 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week, which could be less than 11 minutes per day or 25 minutes three days a week.
Adults should also aim to do strength exercises twice a week, at least.
Examples of moderate-intensity activities include brisk walking, water aerobics, riding a bike, dancing, doubles tennis, pushing a lawn mower, hiking or rollerblading.
Examples of vigorous activities include running, swimming, riding a bike fast or on hills, walking up the stairs, sports, like football, rugby, netball and hockey, skipping, aerobics, gymnastics or martial arts.
Things like lifting heavy weights, sprinting up hills, spin classes or circuit training are considered very vigorous.
What time should you exercise?
Getting exercise into your day, no matter what time is a good idea.
But you may want to be more selective depending on your goal.
A 2023 US study on 5,285 middle-aged adults showed exercising between 7 and 9 am was the best time if you’re looking to lose weight.
Researchers found that early-bird gym goers had a lower body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference than those working out later.
A 2022 study led by Prof Paul J Arciero, Skidmore College, New York, found that the optimal time of day to get your kit on might differ according to your gender.
Prof Arciero said women wanting to lose fat around their belly and hips would do better to hit the gym in the morning, but those seeking to gain upper body strength or simply improve their mood might see more results from evening exercise.
The results were the opposite for men.
If you struggle to get to sleep, it’s been found that exercise in the morning may help, but exercise in the evening may help you to stay asleep.
Exercise, generally, can improve sleep quality.
On another occasion, the grandmother shared a simple routine that involves six easy steps – and says anyone can “reverse the ageing process”.
Lesley explained: “I definitely think women come into their own as we become older – more confident and sexy, especially if we are fit and healthy.
“We can actually reverse the ageing process through clean eating plus effective exercise.
“Build the muscle and burn the fat and having a healthy lean body is up to us.
“There are two ways of ageing – one is chronological age which is from your birth date until now.
“And the other is biological age, which is more exciting! We can create a younger body – become leaner, stronger, healthier.
“This makes us more confident and sexy.”
Her trim physique also helps her stay confident in her love life, with the cougar revealing she is currently dating a younger man.
She said: “The man I’m seeing is younger than me but I never think about that.
“Confidence is a win for me.
“If a man is brave enough to walk straight up to me and stare me in the eyes and ask me out, he’s a pretty brave man.
“These days men are quite shy about approaching women as everything seems to be done online.
“Anyone can be romantic online but there’s nothing like the real thing.”
Three years on from invasion peace is no closer & ordinary people suffering – Ukraine’s needs now are as great as ever
IT is three years since the brutal escalation of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Tens of thousands of soldiers and Ukrainian civilians have been killed and cities across the country’s flattened, with millions forced to flee their homes.

European leaders have been left reeling by being cut out of peace talks that US President Donald Trump has started with Russia.
The new American administration has shifted position and started unilateral talks with Moscow — without Ukraine leader Volodymyr Zelensky as it demands a quick end to the war.
That’s left European leaders fuming given they have collectively backed Ukraine more than the US against the Russian invasion.
Here, Irish politicians and campaigners describe the impact the devastating conflict has had on the world over the past three years.

Irish Red Cross secretary general Deirdre Garvey says the devastating impact of war extends far beyond physical destruction.
She says targeted mental health supports, like those provided by the Irish Red Cross, have become crucial to address the widespread emotional toll and trauma needs of Ukrainian people.
She said: “The conflict in Ukraine has dramatically changed the lives of millions and has had a devastating impact on individual lives that we can never measure.
“Ireland has recognised this suffering and continues to respond generously. The Irish Red Cross has worked with the wider Red Cross Movement to provide humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and in the surrounding countries that have hosted most of those fleeing conflict in Ukraine.
“The needs now are as great as ever. Many of the millions who fled are unable to return home, and those who remain face dire conditions, with limited access to water, heat, healthcare and other essential services. Three years on, the mental health toll is huge for those who remain and those who fled to safety.”
Concern Worldwide programme manager in Ukraine, Erica Niel, told how the charity have assisted over 320,000 people there since the current phase of the conflict began in 2022.

She said: “2024 was the toughest year yet for ordinary people in Ukraine as the compound effects of multiple factors really took their toll. Take for example, women with children.
“They are dealing with the daily power cuts, children who cannot go to school or who are taking part in online learning from home, and the lack of livelihoods and income.
“On top of this, because of conscription, many men have been drafted and so they have nobody else in the house to help.
RECOVERY EFFORTS
“Elderly people living in high rise blocks of apartments are particularly affected because, in addition to having no heat, light or water, when the lifts are not working, they are dependent on others to bring them supplies to survive.
“We are focused on helping people recover from the immediate and long-term effects of the conflict on their livelihoods, their mental health and their lives.
“Every family that we help to get through the harsh winter, every person we support to bring food to their homes, every displaced person we help get a job or get their business back on its feet — that is the essence of our work in Ukraine.”

And Chernobyl Children International founder Adi Roche said humanity is faced with the devastating reality of an escalating conflict that continues to inflict immeasurable suffering on innocent civilians and poses an unprecedented threat to the environment.
She added: “This war has changed everything. The weaponising of nuclear power in Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhia signifies to the world that the nature of modern warfare has changed forever, and brings with it a sense of foreboding for future wars.
“My worst nightmare in this conflict is that the tragedy of a second Chernobyl would be unleashed on the world.
CONTAMINATION FEARS
“I fear that this area, a sacred area, an area of utter vulnerability and danger, a special area of human tragedy, could once again have deadly radioactive contamination released which would spread everywhere, like an uncontrollable monster.
“Today, we must unite to call for global recognition of the environmental destruction caused by war and to urge immediate action to safeguard our planet as well as our future generations.”
She added: “The catastrophic Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986 left an indelible mark on history, yet in February 2022, the world watched in horror as Russian troops recklessly advanced through the Chernobyl exclusion zone, reawakening deeply buried radioactive elements and contaminating the air, land, and water. This was not merely an act of war. It was an act of nuclear terrorism.”

Politicians are worried this war will not end any time soon.
For Labour foreign affairs spokesperson Duncan Smith, three years on from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, lasting peace seems further away than before.
Deputy Smith said: “Despite the talks of peace in recent weeks, it seems like we are in a more insecure place than ever before. Trump has effectively welcomed Putin in out of the cold. The damage that this will have done to achieving peace is immeasurable.
“The people of Ukraine must be assured that any peace negotiations are taking place through the multilateral framework of the UN. It is crucial that Europe, the United States and Russia agree to achieving peace through the UN.
‘MORE INSECURE’
“Worryingly, none of this seems to be on the table at the moment. Three years on from the invasion of Ukraine, it feels like we’re in a more insecure international world than before.
“For any peace to be sustainable, Russia must in the first instance withdraw the pre-invasion borders and return to Ukraine the territory that they have taken.
“Again, this does not seem likely under American-led so-called peace negotiations.”
He added: “Peace can and must be achieved for the people of Ukraine. The international frameworks that are in place are the best way of reaching that goal.”
Love Island All Stars finalists ‘in secret feud’ as Casey and Gabby hang out with islander who ‘sabotaged’ fellow stars
LOVE Island All Stars winners Casey O’Gorman and Gabby Allen have fuelled a secret feud involving their fellow finalists by going on ‘a double date’.
Casey and Gabby proudly posed for a picture with winning alumni Tom Clare and Molly Smith after finally getting together for a much-discussed dinner.

But they also asked along ex islander Mitchel Taylor and his girlfriend Hayley Griffin – and it has not gone down well with Luca Bish and Grace Jackson.
Mitch was accused of “sabotaging” Luca and Grace’s efforts to win Love Island All Stars by spreading so-called ‘texts from Grace’.
In an explosive on-screen clash, Liv Hawkins claimed Grace had messaged another islander before heading into the villa, saying she’d “do anything to win”.
Mitch – aka Messy Mitch – went on to circulate what appeared to be the Snapchat messages between Grace and a mystery pal.
The mystery friend said: “You’re my winner regardless.”
‘Grace’ replied: “Aww thank you babe. I will win this time. I’ll do anything.”
However, in a live with fans, Mitch later admitted the messages “could be fake”.
But the damage was done, with fans claiming Luca and Grace missed out on the £50,000 prize pot because of the controversy.
Casey and Gabby’s win came as a surprise to viewers of the ITV2 show and they have now met with Mitch at celebrity hangout Sheesh.
Despite calling it a “double date” with Love Island All Stars 2024 winners Tom and Molly, Mitch was also snapped with them at the London restaurant – along with a group of family and friends.
Sharing snaps and a video on Instagram, Tom said: “The double date happened… well kinda, surprised by their Family & Friends too, big love.”
Gabby replied: “Such a special night! Thank you Tom xx.”
Casey added: “A best friend anyone could ever dream of. Thanks for organising the best night ever.”
All fans wanted to discuss, however, was the fact Luca and Grace had not liked Tom’s social media post with Mitch in.
Sharing their opinion on the scandal, one follower said: “Hanging with the guy that sabotaged Grace .. so you’d win the show i see.. Grace & Luca are the real winners.”
Another added: “Obviously Mitch was there, he was the reason you won.”
And a third said: “He knew it was fake, he even said it on a live. That wasn’t fair.”
Luca was said to be “fuming” he and Grace had not won Love Island All Stars.

The couple finished in second place, despite bookies’ William Hill having them down as the front-runners.
Luca and Grace filmed a ‘thank you’ speech for the official Love Island social media accounts, but fans accused him of failing to hide his true feelings.
In the tense video, the runner-up said: “Honestly, it’s been the best journey and we couldn’t have done it without you guys.
“Thanks for voting, thanks for everything you guys have done.”
Picking up on his less than chipper attitude, one fan replied: “I’d be fuming too if i got second place twice.”
A second mused: “Luca looks FUMING,” as a third agreed and put: “I just know Grace and Luca are fuming they will be over before Easter.”
Luca and Grace shrugged off Casey and Gabby’s celebratory meal on by going on their own date elsewhere this week.
On Sunday night, the couple were snapped together looking cosy as they sipped on cocktails at a different restaurant.
