Leanne and Steve got together in a shock move on Coronation Street[/caption]
He attempted to comfort her amid her downward spiral[/caption]
On tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, Steve (Simon Gregson) was seen to feel sorry for his former lover.
Leanne (Jan Danson) looked depressed in Roy’s Rolls before he invited her over to number one for a glass of red wine.
After she accepted the invite, the pair reflected on their friendship, and Leanne couldn’t help but get emotional.
She previously became pregnant with his baby after a one-night stand, only for their child Oliver to pass away at the age of three-years old following a mitochondrial disease diagnosis.
Leanne claimed that Steve has been the only one who was truly there for her, as Steve admitted that he was glad she was with Oliver in his final hours.
He admitted: “I couldn’t think of a better person to have a child with. I’ve always been in awe of your strength, I still am.”
She then leant on his shoulder as he held her in a warm and emotional embrace on the long-running ITV soap.
“Don’t start because you will have me going, then I’ll lose my manly cool,” Steve added.
With fire in her eyes, Leanne remarked: “You’ll never lose that,” before she leaned in.
The pair kissed tenderly on the sofa before moving the action upstairs to Steve’s bedroom.
However, he was left unaware that Amy (Elle Mulvaney) was trying to reach him after running into the father of her rapist.
Aaron Sandford (James Craven) was celebrating his stag night at the same nightclub she was attending for a birthday party.
He was revealed to be engaged and set to welcome a baby with his new fiancée, leaving Amy shocked and traumatised.
Steve and Leanne’s liaison comes after Leanne’s surprise romp with hunky toyboy lover Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).

The surprise love story came out of nowhere as the Weatherfieldresidents enjoyed a night of passion.

Viewers also saw Leanne attempt to make a pass at Ronnie Bailey as she got increasingly drunk.

1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on How Anna Kournikova went from tennis pin-up to recluse after retiring at 21 for quiet life with pop star heart-throb
ANNA KOURNIKOVA appeared to have it all.
The successful tennis career.
Anna Kournikova was one of the world’s biggest sporting superstars[/caption]
The Russian combined her tennis talent with dazzling glamour[/caption]
She was pictured for the first time in two years in January 2025 being pushed in a wheelchair[/caption]
The multi-million-pound sponsorship deals.
The dazzling supermodel good looks.
The perfect blonde hair to match.
And the pop-star partner.
She was, without doubt, one of the biggest stars in the world.
So much so that she was still the most Googled athlete on the planet five years after retiring.
But she traded in life in the public spotlight for a quiet one in private, perfectly content with her close network of friends and family – including her three children.
TEENAGE SENSATION
Born in Moscow in 1981, Kournikova did not take long to show potential and aged ten joined the prestigious Nick Bollettieri academy in Florida which boasts Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova and the Williams sisters among its star-studded alumni.

She turned pro at just 14 and made her Wimbledon debut in 1997, reaching the semi-finals on debut, losing to Martina Hingis.
That was her best Grand Slam result but she teamed up with Hingis to win two Australian Open doubles titles together in 1999 and 2002.

Kournikova hit the No1 ranking in doubles – and No8 in singles[/caption]
The superstar pairing were the darlings of their sport and were dubbed the ‘Spice Girls of tennis’.
Kournikova in particular proved a major smash hit with fans who clambered to watch her play – and not just for her forehands and backhands.
RICH & FAMOUS
The glamorous Russian – who reached No8 in the world in singles but No1 in doubles – was inundated with sponsorship deals with the likes of adidas, Omega and Berlei, for whom she became the face of the shock absorber sports bras.
It is telling that she is said to be worth £40million ($50m) – yet her on-court earnings amounted to £2.8m.
Her tennis career, many would accept, underdelivered compared to the hype and media attention she received leading to unwanted tags of “sport’s biggest flop” and “most overrated athlete”.
But Kournikova’s appeal far transcended tennis.
With her fame came a series of lucrative sponsorships[/caption]
Kournikova featured on the front of Sports Illustrated[/caption]
Her partnership with adidas was one of several big-money deals[/caption]
She was crowned the “hottest female athlete” by ESPN and came first in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World – beating Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears to top spot.
Photoshoots, catwalks and modelling became regular activities as she graced the front covers of various magazines, including FHM and a stunning Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
She enjoyed a cameo in iconic sitcom Friends plus appeared in Me, Myself and Irene alongside Jim Carrey.
And Anna Kournikova was so famous in culture that she had both a cocktail – a variation on a White Russian made with skimmed milk – and a computer virus named after her in 2001.
EARLY RETIREMENT
But the unrelenting, constant scrutiny and attention certainly took its toll.
As did injuries – a left foot stress fracture, abductor issues and back problems.
So much so that Kournikova made the shock decision to retire in May 2003, aged just 21 and after just eight years as a pro.
She hung up her racquet with 16 doubles titles to her name – plus finals in the French Open doubles and both Wimbledon and US Open mixed.
Kournikova, who played in some exhibitions and charity matches in the years soon after quitting, said: “Being in the spotlight since I was a child was really hard.

Kournikova wowed fans on and off the court[/caption]
Many believe she did not live up to the hype and expectation in her career[/caption]
Kournikova shied away from the public more and more after retiring[/caption]
“I did feel pressure when people were saying things like, ‘You’re too pretty, you can’t play,’ or whatever.
“I would get so nervous and get anxiety on the court, I wouldn’t be able to move.”
In 2005, two years after retiring, Kournikova was targeted in a “frightening and scary” ordeal which saw a stalker swim naked to what he thought was her Miami home in an attempt to get her to save him from drowning.
William Lepeska – who actually swam to the wrong house – had a tattoo of her on his arm and bombarded her with sexually explicit letters and emails.
Kournikova hired bodyguards and increased the security at her house and said in court: “I was absolutely shocked and fearful, and I was very much concerned for my safety.
“It was very frightening and scary… just knowing there is someone out there who’s obsessive.”
The tennis ace had previously been with Russian NHL ice hockey player Pavel Bure and reportedly went out with Bure’s team-mate Sergei Fodorov – despite a ten-year age gap.
Fedorov claimed he married Kournikova in 2001 and they divorced in 2003 – although that allegation has always been denied on her side.
Ironically, it remains unclear whether she has tied the knot with pop star Iglesias or not.
Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias started dating in late 2001[/caption]
The couple remain coy on whether they are married or not[/caption]
He revealed their sex life is even more active since having kids[/caption]
Kournikova had twins in December 2017[/caption]
Both are cryptically coy on the matter despite being happily together for more than 20 years, living in Miami.
Iglesias, son of Spanish musical icon Julio, said in 2022: “We haven’t gotten married in public, that doesn’t mean we are not married.
“We have been together for such a long time, for half of our lives.”
Kournikova, meanwhile, insists “marriage isn’t important to me” but now goes by Anna Kournikova Iglesias, wears a diamond ring and matching eternity band as of 2017 and has been introduced as his “wife” by Iglesias at a 2011 concert in Russia.
They welcomed twins Nicolas and Lucy in December 2017 before another daughter Mary arrived in January 2020.
The family live in a 20,000 sq ft beachfront Miami pad and had two dogs – a German Shepherd Max and a chocolate Labrador Chessie – plus a tennis court in the garden, showing Kournikova still loves the sport despite her premature retirement.
However, these have dried up almost completely now.
She has not posted a photo of herself online since May 2022 – an adorable family photo to mark Iglesias’ birthday – and her only upload since then was a Father’s Day message for him in June 2024.
I love being a mum, I love taking care of people – I want to devote all my time to children, being with them is happiness
Anna Kournikova
She said: “I love being a mum. I absolutely wanted to have children, whether I had my own or adopted. I love taking care of people.”
“When I got pregnant, I reduced the workload, and realised I want to devote all my time to children.
“Being with them is happiness, I am not ready to miss a single second.
“My typical day is getting up at 6.30am. We have breakfast, walk with a stroller. The twins have just started walking.
“While they sleep, I do yoga or Pilates.
“From noon housework begins and by 8pm I am usually exhausted on the sofa.”
But Iglesias suggested there is more activity later in the evening, candidly revealing: “It’s probably more sex now than ever. The sex has not diminished.”
The ex-tennis star – wearing a black hoody, black joggers and sunglasses – had a protective boot on her foot as she was joined by friends and her daughters at the Bal Harbour shopping centre.
The shock sighting and rare photograph was a far cry from the global superstar heartthrob who dominated screens, magazine covers and advertising promos at the peak of her heyday at the turn of the century.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES
DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.
Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.
During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.
Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.
The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.
“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.
“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”
The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.
They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.
“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”
Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on I was on Rich Kids Go Skint – the poor family weren’t rubbing pennies & hid their consoles, whilst I stayed in a hotel
A 25-YEAR-OLD who appeared on Rich Kids Go Skint four years ago has opened up on the real truth behind the show.
Sam Bills, who is from Worcestershire and is the son of a millionaire, appeared on the reality TV programme back in 2021, where he gave up his life of luxury to live with a family much less well off than he.
Sam Bills, 25, appeared on the show in 2021[/caption]
He filmed with Charlotte and her two children, Maisie and Malakei[/caption]
Sam claimed that he was treated to posh nights in a Hilton hotel[/caption]
But the influencer, who moved into a council flat with then-29-year-old Charlotte from Poplar, East London and her two children Maisie and Malakai, who were 11 and eight at the time, has now slammed the series for ‘demonising the rich’.
Years after the episode, which painted a picture of affluent young Sam swapping lifestyles and understanding people who live differently to him – the content creator has since claimed the show was ‘exaggerated’.
Taking to TikTok, the man opened up about his experiences on the show, as he revealed that he spent most nights kicking back in a Hilton hotel.
Not only this, but he also claimed that producers had encouraged the ‘skint’ family, who he is now ‘neighbours’ with, to ‘hide’ their expensive games consoles.
When he appeared on the Channel 5 show in 2021, Sam was portrayed as a super-rich kid who drove a £40,000 BMW and never wore the same outfit twice.
He arrived to meet the poor family wearing a wardrobe full of designer gear including a £500 MCM backpack, a £320 All Saints biker jacket and a £6,000 Rolex – which was a gift for his 18th birthday.
Explaining his top designer wardrobe, Sam said in the original episode: “With social media you have to keep up a level of appearance. If I’m going to a party or going abroad I need a new outfit, I can’t be wearing last week’s clothes.”
But the influencer – who then split his time between his father’s £2million country estate and his mother’s five bedroom, five bathroom sprawling mansion – insisted the Channel 5 show ‘exaggerated’ the divide.
Speaking recently on TikTok, the millionaire heir said: “I feel like the show has this pre-set narrative that they try to fit that there’s this super out of touch rich kid that needs to be brought back down to earth.
“I feel like in the process they exaggerated my situation to show more of a divide. But I do come from a wealthy family, I’m very lucky.
“But I was a student at the time and yes I was getting help from my parents but I wasn’t just this spoilt kid that was getting everything I want.
“They were also trying to make [the other family] out like they were literally in poverty – but they had a decent flat, multiple PlayStations, Nintendo Switches, a tortoise, a hamster.”
He also claimed the family were told to hide their consoles whilst camera crews were rolling[/caption]
Sam slammed the show which he insisted imposed a ‘moral’ hierarchy between the rich and poor[/caption]
Sam even admitted that his host mother, Charlotte, had removed consoles from view, to ‘look poor’.
Reflecting on his own financial situation, he insisted that his grandfather had built up the family business from ‘nothing’ and that their immense wealth was ‘not my fault’.
They had a decent flat, multiple PlayStations, Nintendo Switches, a tortoise, a hamster
Sam Bills
The influencer slammed the show which he insisted imposed a ‘moral’ hierarchy between the rich and poor.
He questioned: “Does it really help anyone to demonise the rich?” and continued: “I don’t like the way the show insinuates that there’s a moral superiority like the poorer people are morally superior to the rich kid that needs to be brought down to earth.”
The reality star claimed that he was first invited to go on the show after a producer sent him a direct message asking if was interested in appearing as the ‘rich kid’.
He accused the show of ‘demonising the rich’[/caption]
He thought it would be ‘hilarious’ to star on the show[/caption]
Sam swiftly agreed, telling his friends that it would be ‘hilarious’.
Filming then began just a matter of weeks later – with pandemic lockdown rules forcing production to start early.
Upon meeting the family, Sam said the entire encounter was ‘really awkward’, with producers pushing either party to ask each other questions regarding money.
Despite initially feeling ‘so nervous’, Sam quickly found his feet and ended up having ‘the best time’.

These individuals exemplify how familial connections can provide significant advantages in building wealth and achieving success.
After the first day of filming finished, Sam spent the night sleeping on the family’s sofa while they were sent to stay in a hotel in an effort to keep them separated in line with Coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
But for the remaining four days of filming, Sam rested his head in hotels. Whilst he first stayed in a budget Ibis, he was then treated to a much swankier two nights in a Hilton Hotel.
Not only was Sam not actually in the family’s tiny home, whilst he was instructed to do a £5 dinner challenge, grabbing ingredients from a local corner shop to rustle up a meal for the family of three, he claimed that he had actually asked producers to nip out and buy additional chicken breasts and parmesan.
He said the chicken he’d initially bought was ‘like a baby chicken bird thing’ that he ‘didn’t know what to do with’ – and so had ended up asking producers to pop out for a replacement, as he insisted: “We just swapped it out and used chicken breast… So it wasn’t really under £5 but the effort was there.”
It was ironic because I was supposed to be this rich kid and they were supposed to be skint but at the end of the day, we’re neighbours
Sam Bills
Despite his complaints about the show being ‘exaggerated’, Sam confessed that he had had the ‘best time filming’ and had exchanged heartfelt gifts with the family at the end.
Sam treated Charlotte to a bottle of wine along with glasses, after they had ‘wine from mugs’ on the first night.
Not only this, but he also purchased a Nintendo Switch game for Malakai and a clothes voucher for Maisie.
He said the experience made him ‘really think’ about his privilege but noted it was ‘a bit peak’ that the family didn’t benefit financially from going on the show.
In a separate clip, Sam explained that after moving to London, he had soon realised he was ‘neighbours’ with the family who had previously resided in Poplar, East London.
He said: “It was ironic because I was supposed to be this rich kid and they were supposed to be skint but at the end of the day, we’re neighbours, that’s cool.”
Fabulous has approached Channel 5 and Kalel Productions for comment.
1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on The 8 hottest interiors trends for 2025 have been revealed by pro it’s time your grey/beige home gets a revamp
WANT to spruce up your home but don’t know where to begin?
Interiors expert and former estate agent Laura Rich from the online store Furniturebox has revealed the eight hottest trends – and they could add thousands to the value of your home.
The hottest home trends have been revealed and could add thousands to your home’s vale[/caption]
Curves are in when it comes to furniture in 2025[/caption]
From rich and bold colours to sustainable choices, 2025 is all about making a statement.
Be prepared for rich and earthy tones, combining textures and patterns and embracing eco-design that blurs indoors and outdoor living.
RICH, EARTHY COLOURS
Say goodbye to muted tones and hello to sumptuous hues. Colours will be darker and bolder this year.
Think suede browns, deep emerald greens, dusky blues, striking rich burgundies and oxblood reds.
These colours can be used to create focal points in your rooms – whether it’s a feature wall, a statement piece of furniture, or even bold accessories.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match – the bolder, the better!
CURVES ARE IN
Curves were big in 2024 and they’re here to stay as a great way to soften the edges of your interiors.
This trend embraces rounded furniture, arched doorways, and circular décor elements.
Curved sofas, round coffee tables, and even circular mirrors can add a touch of elegance and fluidity to your space.
It’s all about creating a harmonious and inviting environment.
BLURRING INDOOR AND OUTDOOR
Bringing the outdoors in is a trend that continues to gain momentum.
Large windows, indoor plants, and natural materials like wood and stone help create a connection with nature.
Consider adding a cosy outdoor seating area that feels like an extension of your living room, or bringing some outdoor furniture into your conservatory, sun room or kitchen for a relaxed feel.
COLOUR DRENCHING
Colour drenching was another buzzword that started making waves in 2024.
This is all about committing to a single colour and using it throughout a room.
This monochromatic approach can make a bold statement and create a cohesive look.
Whether you choose a calming shade of blue or a vibrant yellow, drenching your space in one colour can be both dramatic and sophisticated.
BE SUSTAINABLE
There’s a focus on the sustainable materials in 2025[/caption]
Sustainability is not just a trend, it’s a lifestyle choice.
In 2025, there’s a strong focus on eco-friendly materials and sustainable practices.
From recycled furniture to energy-efficient lighting, there are many ways to make your home more sustainable.
Look for pieces made from reclaimed wood, organic fabrics, and low-VOC paints to reduce your environmental footprint.
ROCOCO RENAISSANCE
Rococo Renaissance is all about opulence[/caption]
The Rococo Renaissance is all about opulence and elegance.
This trend features asymmetrical designs, pastel colours, and ornate details.
It’s a celebration of all things lavish and feminine, perfect for adding a touch of glamour to your space.
TEXUTURE AND PATTERNS
Texture and pattern are key to adding depth and interest to your interiors.
From plush velvets and chunky knits to intricate patterns and geometric designs, layering different textures and patterns can transform a space from flat to fabulous.
Consider textured wallpapers, patterned rugs, and tactile cushions to bring this trend to life.
Princess Beatrice is now a stepmother to young Christopher.
Their third child was born on January 22, 2025.
Beatrice and Edoardo named their second daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, with her middle name being a reference to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
She weighed just 4lbs and 5oz when she was born, since she was born prematurely, but is “healthy”.
Announcing the birth, a post on the Royal Family’s social media said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, January 22, at 12:57pm.
“The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.
“The King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.
“Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.
“Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.”
Love at first sight
It is thought that the pair first met in September 2018, shortly before Beatrice’s sister Eugenie got married.
A friend told The Sun at the time: “Beatrice and Edo have the same circle of friends and were introduced through a mutual chum.

Royal wedding
As the daughter of Prince Andrew and granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo could have had a public royal wedding as enjoyed by her younger sister Eugenie.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony was postponed until July 17, 2020.
