Right-wing priest Calvin Robinson breaks silence after he’s booted out of church for ‘copying’ Musk’s ‘salute’ at rally

A RIGHT-WING priest has strongly denied claims he is a Nazi after appearing to copy a salute that was made by Elon Musk at Donald Trump’s inauguration celebrations.

Calvin Robinson made the gesture at the end of his address at the National Pro-Life summit in Washington DC on Friday, causing a stir online.

The event was held just days after Musk came under fire for making what looked like a stiff-armed Roman salute at Trump’s inaugural parade held at Capital One Arena.

In his remarks, he claimed the old world is “crumbling” and only America is “fighting for life.”

He told event goers that his heart went out to them before he thumped his chest and made a gesture resembling a Roman salute.

In an X post, he claimed that he’s received hundreds of “nasty” calls and messages.

“I am not a Nazi,” he vowed.

In a subsequent statement, he claimed that he was “mocking hysterical liberals” who accused Elon Musk of being a Nazi.

“Context is key, but sometimes people ignore context to confirm their own prejudices,” he said.

“People see what they want to see.”

Robinson denied any suggestions he was making light of World War II.

Robinson was a priest with the Anglican Church in the UK and a representative issued a statement after the footage surfaced on social media.

“While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition,” the spokesperson said.

The church confirmed his license has been revoked.

“He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC,” the spokesperson said.

Musk made the gesture at the parade after reveling in the thought that America could land a man on Mars.

“It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured,” he told the supporters in attendance.

Musk’s salute sparked a flurry of discussion online.

The Tesla and SpaceX mogul was widely condemned by prominent Democrats including firebrand left-wing congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

GESTURE STORM

Musk lashed out at Wikipedia after a screenshot from the website was shared on X.

It claimed he made a gesture that had been “compared” to a far-right salute.

A representative for the Anti-Defamation League described Musk’s gesture as “awkward.”

“This is a delicate moment,” it wrote on X.

“It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge.

“Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety.”

‘FALSELY SMEARED’

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Musk was being “falsely smeared.”

Defending Musk, Netanyahu said the entrepreneur is a friend of Israel.

Musk visited Israel just weeks after Hamas carried out the deadly October 7 terror attacks.

Nazi salutes were used as greetings in Germany under the Third Reich.

But, it is illegal to make Nazi-style salutes in countries such as Germanyand Austria.

Austria was under Nazi occupation during World War II.

EastEnders fans uncover actress’ FOUR forgotten roles on the BBC soap spanning more than three decades

AN EAGLE eyed soap fan has spotted that one member of the EastEnders cast has played four different characters in the soap.

Actress Ellen Thomas is best known for her most recent role as Claudette Hubbard, but that isn’t her first role in the BBC soap.

Her most well known role is as Claudette Hubbard, which she began playing in 2015[/caption]

An EastEnders fan has pointed out the star has appeared as a resident of Albert Square four times across 35 years.

The actress first appeared in the BBC soap as Pearl Chadwick from November to December 1990, meaning her EastEnders debut was 35 years ago.

Pearl the mother of Abigail Chadwick, who had been killed in a motor accident and left behind a son.

After Abigail’s death, Pearl and her husband Henry took care of the boy with plans to emigrate, until his father stepped in.

The Sierra Leonean-English actress then moved into other TV roles before she later returned to the soap twelve years later as she played Estella Hulton in June 2002.

Estella’s brief appearance came as she is Pearl’s mother, and helped her to escape Watford in a taxi.

Eight years later Ellen returned as Grace Olubunmi from June 2010 to September 2011.

Grace, the grandmother of Mercy and Faith Olubunmi, wasn’t a prominent character but one that made things difficult for Mercy’s romance with FatBoy.

The character also appeared in a spin off from EastEnders, called E20.

Finally her most recent role was as Claudette Hubbard from March 2015 to November 2016.

Claudette Hubbard is the ex wife of Henry Hubbard and the mother of Vincent Hubbard, foster mother of Donna, Glen and Linford and grandmother of Pearl and Mica.

Involved in major storylines, Claudette was involved in Henry’s murder as well as attempting to murder Gavin Sullivan by hitting him over the head with a candlestick

Outside of EastEnders, Ellen has appeared in various TV programmes including Grange Hill, The Bill, Doctors, Holby City, Casualty, Doctor Who, Outnumbered, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise and Silent Witness.

The new reboot will also be keeping true to its roots with one of the show’s executive producers, Trip Friendly, being the son of Ed Friendly, the exec producer on the original 70s incarnation.

He will work alongside Rebecca Sonnenshine who will be the show runner as well as exec producer.

She said of the show’s reboot: “I fell deeply in love with these books when I was five years old.

“They inspired me to become a writer and a filmmaker, and I am honored and thrilled to be adapting these stories for a new global audience with Netflix.”

Revealing their decision to acquire the iconic show, Netflix’s vice president for drama, Jimmy Howe, said: “’Little House on the Prairie’ has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many fans around the world, and we’re excited to share its enduring themes of hope and optimism with a fresh take on this iconic story.

“Rebecca’s vision threads the needle with an emotional depth that will delight both new and existing fans of this beloved classic.”

A further teaser for the impending series read: “Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical ‘Little House’ books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”

The show’s original run lasted for nine years and aired between 1974 and 1983.

It featured more than 200 episodes and was based on Laura’s books which were published in the 30s and 40s.

Over 73 million copies of the original books were sold and were based on her life growing up in the Midwest of America.

When the original series was uploaded to US streaming site Peacock last year, it was reported to be one of the most viewed programmes on the network with over 13 billion minutes streamed.

Details on casting and release date are expected to be announced in due course.

Met Office reveals where SNOW will fall this week as ice weather warnings issued & temps dip to -3

THE Met Office has revealed where snow is set to strike in the UK as 12-hour ice warnings remain in place – after three named storms struck in six days.

Temperatures plummeted to -3C last night as a fresh cold snap takes hold with two 12-hour ice warnings in place in Scotland and Northern Ireland until 10am.

The Met Office has two warnings in place for ice today

More snow is also expected by the end of today and into tomorrow after wintry showers struck in parts of the country last night.

Parts of Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Staffordshire are among spots forecast to see snow by the early hours of Friday.

The Met Office said in a post on X today: “A cold start on Thursday, with frost and patchy fog in places, and some icy stretches in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

“A bright morning to come though, with plenty of sunshine around, and any showers remaining confined to northern coasts.”

A yellow ice warning, put in place for 12 hours from 10pm on Wednesday states: “Icy patches may lead to some travel disruption on Thursday morning.”

It adds: “Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.”

It comes after Britain was battered by Storm Eowyn – which brought winds over 100mph and torrential downpours.

More than 130,000 people were left without power and two people died, as a result.

This was followed by Storm Herminia, arriving earlier this week from Spain before the south coast was hit by 60mph gusts from Storm Ivo, careening in from Portugal.

Met Office meteorologist Jeff Knight said: “An outlook for increased storminess carries a risk of storm clustering, meaning multiple storms could affect the UK in quick succession, like we have already seen for storms Eowyn and Herminia.

“Although the outlook can’t give any indication of the severity of specific events and therefore if any particular system will be named, the chance of impacts from wet and windy weather, particularly during February and March, are higher than to normal.”

The Environment Agency has issued 118 flood alerts and 14 warnings across England – while Natural Resources Wales has issued two further alerts.

Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Chris Almond said: “Most areas will be dry with sunny spells on Thursday, although there’s the risk of some freezing fog patches at first.

“Cloud, outbreaks of rain and hill snow will spread to the northwest by the end of the day, and Friday will see a cloudy day in the south, with some sunshine further north, before the next band of cloud and rain arrives in the northwest later.

“Overall though, rainfall amounts will be lower than of late.”

The forecaster had said yesterday: “Showers on Wednesday night will lead to a risk of icy patches.

“Showers will be wintry over high ground across Northern Ireland, and to lower levels across northern Scotland with a slight covering of snow possible in places, mainly above 200 metres.”

Kacper Dudek, 20, and Calum Carmichael, 19, died in separate incidents after trees fell on their cars during Storm Eowyn last weekend.

Winds reached 114mph in Mace Head, County Galway, Ireland, on Friday (January 24).

5-day weather forecast

Today:
Most areas will have a dry day with early frost and mist clearing to leave plenty of sunshine, with a gentle breeze. However, it will be windier in the far northeast with blustery showers, and isolated showers in the west.

Tonight:
Fine at first with clear periods. However, thickening cloud and rain moving south and east across the UK overnight, giving some hill snow. Patchy frost ahead, and following the rain.

Friday:
Rather cloudy across central, southern and eastern areas with rain and hill snow slowly dying out. Some hill fog. Mostly fine further north and west with bright or sunny spells.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mostly dry though rather cloudy on Saturday. Turning wet and windy in the northwest. Rain edging southeast and easing on Sunday. Further wind and rain in northwest Monday. Fine elsewhere.

I nearly died 4 times AND got struck by lightning while on the phone – here’s what happens when you ‘die’ & why I’m back

A WOMAN has claimed to have visited heaven after a bout of bad luck which saw her have four near-death experiences.

Sharon Milliman believes it’s a “miracle” that she’s still here today and reveals that she won’t be scared when her time finally comes.

Now she’s seen death four times she’s no longer afraid and knows what to expect in heaven[/caption]

The published author says she has suffered two life-threatening health complications as well as being seconds away from drowning and being struck by lightning while on the phone with a friend.

Though it appears death can’t wait to pay her a visit, the 62-year-old has fought back each time.

Now, she’s sharing her experience of the “other side” and what heaven is really like.

Pearly Gates

“I felt my spirit leave my body and [suddenly] I was hovering over it,” the public speaker told NeedToKnow.

“Then, I saw a beautiful, radiant light descending towards me; it enveloped me in a warm, comforting embrace.

“As [the light] approached, it seemed to expand, and in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, compelling me to surrender to it.

“I was swept through clouds of pink and gold, before entering a garden.

“There, to my astonishment, stood my two younger brothers who had passed.”

She claims her brothers walked her through a city made of marble and gold before she got to a podium on which rested a giant gold book titled ‘The Book of Life’ with an ancient language written inside.

Recalling her experience in ‘heaven’ Sharon said: “All the colours were rich, the sounds of laughter were vibrant and the smell of wildflowers was intense; it left me in a state of awe.”

Sharon, from West Virginia, US, says there were halls filled with mentors and teachers guiding souls on their spiritual quests; along with a banquet of luxurious foods. But there was an important message waiting for her.

“It’s such a beautiful thing and when the time does come, I’ll be ready and waiting to finally embrace the other side fully,” she continued.

Near-Death Experiences

The public speaker was just 13 when she had her first near-death experience.

“I was with my mum who had taken me to swimming lessons,” she said. “But suddenly, I forgot how to swim and started sinking deeper into the bottom of the pool.

“Panic set in as I struggled against the surface, quickly sinking and inhaling water. I remember the reaction around me was total chaos as I lay 10ft underwater.

“I felt neither pain, nor fear, as I lay there quiet, unmoving, and no longer breathing. I was able to see and hear everything happening around the pool, though, through my spirit floating above me.

“Lifeguards jumped in and pulled me to the side, while others lifted me out and started performing CPR. It was very touch-and-go, but then I regained my breath.”

The public speaker never went swimming again and 30 years later she had another encounter with death himself.

At the age of 43, she was struck by lightening when she was chatting on her phone on her front porch. “I saw a lightning flash and suddenly, a silver bolt snaked down from the sky and hit my right arm,” she said.

“I screamed as I felt an agonising burning and searing pain while my heart stopped, before my spirit, once again, was peeled from my body. My body was lying dead at the base of the charred stairs and as I floated, I found myself back in heaven.

“My daughter arrived right after the strike and brought me back to consciousness. I was so confused as I tried to figure out my surroundings, but then I spotted the phone, which was burnt and blackened.

“Drenched in sweat and unable to move, paramedics soon arrived and I was rushed to hospital, where extensive tests were carried out. It was found I had a right blockage in my heart and due to being struck, had developed a seizure disorder. I thought the worst had happened, but I was totally wrong.”

Sharon had cheated death once more and the third occasion came in November 2016, when she underwent emergency surgery following a bowel obstruction. She ended up aspirating on the breathing tube and found herself in the realms of heaven.

Exactly how it feels as you die

YOU wouldn't be alone in pondering what it feels like when you die.

Death is something we will all experience some day, but for many of us it feels like the great unknown.

Now, a doctor has shared exactly what happens to your body as you edge slowly towards death.

1. Your heart slows

Firstly, your heart will begin to beat more slowly – in turn, your blood will be pumped around your body more slowly and your blood pressure will fall, palliative medicine specialist Dr Kathryn Mannix wrote in Science Focus.

2. Your breathing changes

Your breathing will follow automatic patterns generated by the respiratory centre in the brain stem, Dr Kathryn wrote.

It could get heavier and noisier – some people lose the sense of their mouth and throat. But this happens without apparent distress, the doctor said.

You may also start to breath more slowly and shallowly. Your breath could move from deep to shallow and from fast to slow in repeating cycles.

There might be pauses and, eventually, it will come to a halt. Your heart will stop after a few minutes, as it is no longer being supplied with oxygen.

3. Dipping in and out of consciousness

You’ll spend progressively less time awake, Dr Kathryn said.

It might look like sleep from the outside, but you’ll gradually drift into consciousness for longer periods of time as you near the end, maybe without noticing it.

Dr Kathryn wrote: “On waking, people report having slept peacefully, with no sense of having been unconscious.”

Research published earlier this year indicates that you could even enter a meditative state.

Scientists accidentally captured our most complex organ as it shut down, showing an astonishing snapshot into death.

A patient with epilepsy was hooked up to an electroencephalogram (EEG) before having a heart attack.

This meant the 15 minutes around his death was recorded on the EEG.

In the 30 seconds either side of the patient’s final heartbeat, an increase in very specific brain waves were spotted.

These waves, known as gamma oscillations, are linked to things like memory retrieval, meditation and dreaming.

This could mean – although many more studies would need to take place – we might see a sort of film reel of our best memories as we die.

The parts of the brain that were activated in this study also suggests we could enter a peaceful dreamlike state that feels similar to meditation.

4. You might respond to sound

Researchers think you might still be able to hear sounds in your final moments, despite seeming unresponsive.

Looking at brain activity in coma patients in 2019, they predicted that some form of awareness could be possible at the end.

While you might be able to hear, you may not necessarily be able to make sense of what is going on.

But Dr Kathryn said: “We have no proven way to investigate what people experience during dying.

“Recent research shows that, even close to death, the unconscious brain responds to noises in the room.

“We don’t know how much sense music or voices make to a dying person, however.”

A year later, the public speaker had an adverse reaction to her seizure medication, which caused her to stop breathing. She says she rose up out of her body and found herself among the stars and planets, where there was no sense of time.

“I believe each near-death experience was an act of God,” said Sharon. “Because of this, I have been given the strength and the understanding of why things happen in my life.”

“During my times in heaven, I was also greeted by a beagle puppy, whom I didn’t recognise,” she added. “As I returned and told my daughter about the experience, she said that the very same day, a beagle had died on our road – and this answered the question as to whether our pets go to heaven; they most certainly do.

“I’ve also had visits from Jesus on multiple occasions, who comes to remind me that I’m never alone and that I don’t need to be afraid. They’ve absolutely helped me with my life overall and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
