Following the arrest, Kirsten disclosed on her Twitter account that she had joined NXIVM believing it was a “self-help” group but left in 2014, and had not witnessed any illegal or nefarious activities during her time in the group.

MOURNERS were told “his love is stronger than his death” at the funeral of a young man who died in a Storm Eowyn crash – as his heartbroken girlfriend paid and emotional tribute.
Hundreds of mourners crammed into St Patrick’s Church in Lifford in Co Donegal for the funeral of tragic Kacper Dudek who made his home amongst them.
Although born in Poland, Kacper Dudek and his loving family had made their new home in the border town when Kacper was just a toddler.
Kacper had been educated locally, played sport and had settled into a job with a company in Letterkenny.
But his life came to a tragic end aged just 20 years when a tree fell on his car during the early hours of Friday morning last as the most vicious of storms in living memory began to take hold.
The heartbreaking mass was said in both Polish and English in honour of Kacper of Beechwood Park, Lifford and formerly of Brody, Poland.
Mourners gathered long before the cortege arrived with a guard of honour formed by Kacper’s work colleagues from Zeus Industrial Products in Letterkenny as well as schoolchildren from his former secondary secondary school Holy Cross College in Strabane as well as members of Sion Sifts Football Club.
Many of those attending the mass brought white roses in Kacper’s memory while his heartbroken family handed out memorial cards in his honour which read ‘With Love We Remember Kacper Dudek, Forever In Our Hearts.’
Chief celebrant Fr Ignacy Saniuta, a Polish priest in the Derry Diocese, said Kacper’s death raised many questions.
Fr Saniuta in his bilingual homily asked: “Why did such a young person with so much life ahead of him have to leave in such a tragic way?
“We do not know the answers, but we know one thing, Kacper has gone to God and his love is stronger than death.”
He added that Kacper will be remembered as a young man full of joy, passion and love for others.
LOVE FOR FAMILY
Fr Saniuta said: “Many of us will remember him as a young man who truly enjoyed life. Kacper loved to spend time with his family and his special relationship with his younger brother and sister were very important to him.”
Kacper taught his brother Karol how to play football and he was always protective of his younger sister Weronika, he added.
One of the most important loves in his life was his girlfriend Molly, who he truly loved and treated with care and affection.
Mourners were told: “She was very special to him, their relationship was full of tenderness and love.”
Kacper was proud of his heritage, having moved from Brody in Poland to Ireland with his parents Artur and Katarzyna Dudek when he was two and a half years old.
Fr Saniuta said: “He was interested in the history of Poland and proud of who he was.”
Fr Saniuta was assisted by Fr Michael Gallagher and Fr Pat O’Kane.
The offertory gifts represented Kacper’s life’s passions and personality traits. A Barcelona FC shirt showcased his love of football, especially Lionel Messi.
‘FULL OF ENERGY’
Aftershave was presented as part of his beloved cologne collection, symbolising his attention to detail and love of the little things in life. Kacper’s beloved childhood toy, a plush dog teddy, was held up to represent his tenderness and care.
Fr Saniuta said Kacper loved working and was always true to himself.
Fr Saniuta said: “He was happy to have secured a job in Zeus and was proud of his achievements.
“Kacper was full of energy, passion and joy. He knew how to enjoy life and was not afraid to be himself, sometimes breaking the rules and never ashamed to be different.”
Fr Saniuta delivered comforting words to mourners that Kacper had faith in his heart.
Fr Saniuta said: “In the last month of his life, he visited this local church on his way to work, praying to God, seeking answers to questions of life, faith and purpose. Kacper wanted to understand what it meant to believe and live by faith.
“One day in the quiet of the church he found a prayer that someone had left behind the pews. In that prayer, God answers him – ‘Just be with me’.
“This was the answer he had been searching for.”
Fr Saniuta pointed out that Kacper’s sudden departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of family and friends who knew him, but he will never be forgotten.
Fr Saniuta said: “Kacper was a young man, full of life, passion, love and faith.
“Although he is no longer with us, he will remain in our hearts forever, let us remember his joy in life, his love for family and friends and his faith in God, which guided him in his search for meaning in life.”
The shock felt by the local community at Kacper’s tragic death has been reflected in the reaction to a Go Fund Me page set up by a family friend to help offset funeral and family expenses.
GIRLFRIEND’S TRIBUTE
More than €15,000 was raised in just a couple of days, a reflection of the respect in which Kacper and his family were held.
That family held eachother tight in the front rows of St Patrick’s Church in Murlog in the disbelief of Kacper’s sudden passing.
Among them was Kacper’s heartbroken girlfriend on whose behalf a touching letter was read out to mourners.
Kacper and Molly met just a few months ago and were already planning their future together.
In a love letter read aloud, Molly said: “I am content knowing I’ve met the love of my life, the man I am going to marry and have our babies with and grow old with.”
In the letter, written prior to Kacper’s tragic death, Molly said that her partner made her the happiest girl alive.
She said: “I promise I will always be with you and if I had my way I would live in your pocket so I could be with you at all times.
“I am so privileged to call you my boyfriend, you always make me feel like the prettiest girl alive. You deserve the world. I love you forever and always.”
A lone violinist led Kacper’s remains out of the church as children released red and white balloons into the freezing January skyline, the frost still thick on local rooftops.
Mr Dudek’s remains were brought to Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan for cremation.

A VERY rare Ferrari that’s one of just 17 that exists in the world is ready to sell for a hefty sum at an upcoming auction.
The brilliantly named Ferrari Superamerica 400 SWB coupe Aerodinamico, finished in royal blue – contrasting the typical red Rosso Corsa finish – is up for £2.5 million.
The car has undergone an £80,000 cosmetic refresh, conducted in mid-2023[/caption]
It’s won numerous awards, including a score of 99.5 points awarded by judges at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance[/caption]
The eye-catching motor, which features open headlamps and a groundbreaking aerodynamic style, including a tapered nose, delicate fender curves, and a sloping rear fastback, was built in 1961.
It was designed specifically for the American market – embodying the ultimate driving luxury and exceptional performance for the time thanks to its Colombo-designed V-12 engine that produces 340 bhp.
It’s to be sold in exceptional condition, both inside and out, as interior shots show the car’s round dials and gauges, as well as its wooden steering wheel and a black and tan leather cabin.
Renowned auction house RM Sotheby’s, who are dealing with the car’s sale, say it’s undergone a recent cosmetic refresh that cost £80,000.
Widely known across Ferrari circles, this prime example won its class at the 2001 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance.
It was then treated to a thorough restoration in 2003, when its original Grigio Fumo paint was repainted in Blu Sera.
At the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, it scored an impressive 99.5 points by judges.
Five months later, it won a Platinum Award at the Cavallino Classic.
It will be part of RM Sotheby’s upcoming Miami Auction, at the Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables, from February 27 to 28.
The listing said: “This car is the 7th of 17 series short-wheelbase examples bodied by Pininfarina and was exhibited at the 1961 Paris Salon.
“This model is Ferrari Classiche Red Book certified and additionally documented with factory build sheet copies, Ferrari technical characteristic sheets, manufacturer’s Certificate of Authenticity, history report by Marcel Massini, and restoration invoices.
“It was comprehensively restored in the mid-2000s, with a £80,000 cosmetic refresh conducted in mid-2023.
“It has a stellar record of awards at major concours d’elegance, including numerous FCA Platinum awards, class wins at Amelia Island and Salon Privé, class awards at three different Pebble Beach appearances, and Best of Show at the 2024 Cavallino Classic Middle East.
“The car is also accompanied by toolkit and fitted luggage.
“It is arguably the most finely restored example of the sublime short wheelbase Coupe Aerodinamico.”
It isn’t the only high-priced Ferrari set to sell at the auction either, as a seldom-seen Ferrari F50 boasting a top speed of 202mph has been listed for £5million.
The iconic 1996 supercar was produced to celebrate Ferrari’s 50th anniversary.
This mid-nineties classic forms part of the Ferrari ‘Big Six’, including the 288 GTO, F40, Enzo, LaFerrari and F80.
Images show this super-sleek Ferrari finished in Rosso Corsa over a Nero interior.
And the cabin and seats are leather-trimmed with Rosso red seat bolsters.
A removable Targa top allows for either a Barchetta-style open-top or Berlinetta saloon appearance, depending on your mood.

THE future of long-running reality TV series TOWIE has been confirmed by ITVBe bosses.
It comes after the Essex-based programme has dominated screens for a whopping 15 years.
The future of ITVBe reality series has been confirmed[/caption]
ITVBe bosses have confirmed two separate TOWIE seasons will air in 2025[/caption]
The TOWIE action – including Dan and Ella’s love story and split – has been streamed an impressive 45million times on ITVX during the past 12 months[/caption]
ITV bosses have now let slip the BAFTA-Award winning show will air two separate instalments this year.
It comes after the TOWIE action has been streamed an impressive 45million times on ITVX during the past 12 months.
TOWIE loyals will also appreciate a spin off series featuring show OGs Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou, with a transmission name yet to be confirmed.
The pair – who share two kids – first met and found love on TOWIE back in 2014 will finally say I Do in a three part special produced by Objective Entertainment.
This follows on from the success of their Baby Steps series.
Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions at ITV, said “We are delighted to be celebrating two of our longest running reality franchises as they enter exciting milestone years, whilst also expanding both series, following the ever popular Tommy and Georgia as they embark upon new chapters.”
SHOW MUST GO ON
The news comes after the TOWIE cast were seen hitting the bars in Bali on the first night of their away trip.
Roman Hackett was also seen heading out but was not joined by his Love Island star girlfriend Matilda Draper after The Sun revealed she didn’t get her via in time.
A source told The Sun: “It was one of those logistical problems.
“Matilda had hoped all the travel paperwork would be done on time but she only signed onto the show the day before she began filming last week so there just wasn’t time to get everything ironed out.”
They continued: “She’ll still bring the drama back in Essex.”
Matilda isn’t the only star not joining the Bali trip for the new series.
In a surprise move, TV favourites Lauren Goodger and Amy Childs have decided not to team up with the rest of their co-stars on the sunkissed holiday.
WITH the announcement TOWIE will return in 2025 for two new series, it's good news for some former ITVBE stars, too
TWO of the show’s best loved former stars will celebrate their own big life moments with a spin off series featuring Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou.
Their new show title is currently unconfirmed.
The pair, who first met and found love on TOWIE back in 2014, finally say ‘I Do’ in a three part special produced by Objective Entertainment.
The show will follow on from the success of their Baby Steps series.
A show source told The Sun: “Lauren and Amy aren’t going on the trip with the cast to Bali.
“With the trips it’s always storyline dependent, so not everyone will go as it’s about getting the right mix of people with interacting plots.
“Amy and Lauren will be staying in Essex, where filming will continue simultaneously, as there is always plenty of drama on home turf.”
The source added: “Both Amy and Lauren were invited on the overseas jaunt but chose to stay behind. They’re both busy mums and didn’t want to leave their kids, and it would have been stressful to take them along.”
The sisters are reuniting for a fresh format that will focus on their lives as entrepreneurs.
A source said: “ITVBe viewers absolutely love Billie and Sam — there’s a reason The Mummy Diaries ran for nine series, then Billie’s Family Diaries for six.
“The new series, which will air later this year, will look at motherhood from a different angle and be less about the kids and more about their careers and juggling their businesses.
“It’s now a whole new chapter for the Faiers girls and they are back together, better than ever.”
Some of the cast have headed to Bali for fiming[/caption]
TOWIE alum Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou have also scooped a fresh spin off show[/caption]
1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on Does Cold Weather Make You Sick? It Might All Come Down to Your Nose, Doctors Say
Everyone’s winter wellness routine looks a little different. However, common practices you may adopt to prevent illness include taking vitamin C supplements, drinking herbal tea, getting enough sleep, and frequently washing your hands. You might also wear extra layers and bundle up outside because otherwise, as a parent or grandparent probably told you many times, "you'll catch a cold." But does being cold actually mean you'll get a cold or the flu?
Cold weather can weaken your immune system and make it easier for germs to get into your nose.
While cold weather itself doesn’t make you sick, it can weaken your immune system as your body works harder to stay warm. This can, in turn, make you more susceptible to respiratory illnesses, such as the common cold, COVID-19, flu, asthma, pneumonia, and bronchitis.
It’s not unusual to experience difficulty breathing or a runny nose in frigid temps, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re sick.
"The cold air, particularly cold, dry air, can cause your airways to constrict and can be irritable to your airways," emergency medicine physician Chidinma Nwakanma, MD, told CBS News Philadelphia. "Which is why we recommend that if you are outside for these prolonged periods of time, you're covering your nose, you're covering your mouth, you're warming up the air that your lungs are taking in."
To this point, when you breathe in cold, dry air outside, your nasal passages have a harder time expelling viruses.
Peter Hwang, MD, head of the Stanford Sinus Center, told HuffPost that this is because your nose needs a "well-hydrated mucus layer" to act as a "physical blockade for viruses and bacteria to enter the tissue and as an active immunologic organ."
Moreover, a 2023 study published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI) found that when your nose gets cold, it produces fewer extra-cellular vesicles or EVs, microscopic sacs that work to kill bacteria before it enters your nasal passageway.
"A decrease of just 9 degrees Fahrenheit in the tissue temperature of the nasal passages cut the number of EVs available to respond to a threat by more than 40%. The colder temperature also caused changes to the composition of the EVs that reduced their efficacy," explained UCLA Health. "The researchers theorize that all of this hampers the body’s ability to fight off respiratory viruses."
Cold temperatures can also affect your body in other ways.
Studies have also shown a correlation between cold weather and high blood pressure or cardiac events. Exerting energy in bone-chilling temperatures, like when shoveling snow or scraping ice off your car, has been known to provoke “chest pain or angina,” added Steve Dorsey, MD, assistant medical director at the Cleveland Clinic emergency department.
Frostbite and hypothermia are also of concern. In the right conditions, Arctic winds and subzero temperatures can damage the skin (frostbite) and result in a drop in body temperature (hypothermia).
With hypothermia, “the body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature,” Mayo Clinic. A healthy body temperature is around 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and anything below 95 degrees is considered a medical emergency.
“At those temperatures, it makes it very hard for the body to do its normal functioning, such as brain function, heart function, lung function," said Nwakanma.
Meanwhile, frostbite causes the skin and underlying tissue to go numb. If prolonged, it can cause skin to become discolored and hardened. Other tell-tale signs of frostbite include tingling, pain, joint stiffness, waxy-looking skin, and patches of red, white, blue, gray, purple, or brown skin, notes Mayo Clinic.
With frostbite, the best thing you can do, “particularly for the fingers or toes would be to run them under warm, not hot, but warm water," Dorsey told CBS News.
"Then it's a matter of taking a look at the skin and seeing is there are their coloration changes? Is there's dustiness at the tips or are there blisters, those are signs of deeper skin injury that need to be seen by a physician promptly,” he continued.
Nwakanma said your best defense against getting sick, whether respiratory or physical numbness, is to “make sure to cover your ears and hands and keep your feet warm.”
