PRINCE Andrew could face an FBI probe after the man set to be its new boss vowed to “do everything” to expose those who worked with the Duke’s pal Jeffrey Epstein.

The bombshell came as newly published emails suggested Andy was in contact with Epstein longer than he has claimed, with one note telling the financier: “We’ll play some more soon.”

And in a third blow, new details emerged of the Duke’s relationship with alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo — with an aide admitting to him the 2019 BBC Newsnight interview had been “ill-advised”.

Donald Trump’s pick for FBI head, Kash Patel, has Andrew in his sights after telling a Senate hearing he is ready to investigate anyone connected to convicted paedophile Epstein, who died in 2019.

Mr Patel vowed: “Child sex trafficking has no place in the US. I will do everything to make sure the American public knows the full weight of what happened.”

Andrew, 64, paid millions to Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in an out-of-court settlement three years ago, while denying sexual assault accusations.

He stayed at Epstein’s New York home, and was accused of taking part in an “underage orgy” on Epstein’s Caribbean island.

In 2020, the FBI asked the Home Office for help to quiz Andrew. That investigation was paused last year.

An Epstein victim told The Sun last night: “The FBI should reopen its investigation.

“Andrew has to face justice. He was friends with Epstein for years and has never answered for it. Kash Patel should release all the FBI’s files immediately.”

It comes as emails unearthed in a UK court case revealed how “a member of the British Royal Family” — believed to be Andrew — told Epstein: “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!”

The email was sent in February 2011. In his BBC Newsnight interview Andrew said he ceased contact with Epstein in December 2010 after they were pictured in New York.

The email was revealed as the Financial Conduct Authority defends an appeal by ex-Barclays Bank boss Jes Staley.

Exchanges show Epstein invited Andrew out with Mr Staley in June 2010. He referred to them being joined by “Vera”, whom he described as “my future ex-wife”.

Andrew replied he had previously met Mr Staley in a Mayfair bar and sent a later message saying he was having “dinner with Jes tomorrow”.

Then on February 27, 2011, Epstein emailed: “Jes staley will be in London on next tue afternoon, if you have time.”

Andrew responded to clarify the date. The documents say there was then a “discussion of press articles”, and the message: “We’ll play some more soon!!!!”

Separate documents released yesterday show how Andrew’s chief aide Dominic Hampshire thanked Chinese buinessman and alleged spy Yang for standing by the Duke after Newsnight.

Writing on Buckingham Palace notepaper in March 2020, Mr Hampshire told Yang: “We have dealt with the aftermath of a hugely ill-advised and unsuccessful television interview.”

He added how much his “principal” (Andrew) appreciated his (Yang’s) loyalty.

The letter, revealed as part of a UK hearing into Yang, shows he was invited to the Prince’s 60th birthday party in February 2020.

In a second letter, that October, Mr Hampshire authorised Yang to act for Andrew in China to find investors for a financial scheme.

But he added: “I ask that this relationship remains confidential and this letter is not circulated digitally. I also ask that a record be kept of who has been informed privately of this arrangement.”

On Yang’s relationship with Andrew, Mr Hampshire said: “Outside of his closest internal confidants, you sit at the very top of a tree that many, many people would like to be on.”

PRINCE Andrew was hit by a string of fresh humiliations yesterday — as his portrait was stripped from a historic pub.

The shamed Duke of York is also facing a possible new FBI probe into his relationship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

New emails between the pair emerged yesterday from February 2011, two months after the Duke claimed they had ceased contact.

In one, Andrew, 64, wrote: “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon.”

It was also revealed that one of Andrew’s closest aides privately admitted to an alleged Chinese spy that his notorious BBC Newsnight interview was “hugely ill-advised and unsuccessful”.

Meanwhile, to cap it all, Andrew faced last orders at The Duke of York pub in Fitzrovia, central London, where signs with his portrait were pulled down.

Andrew had given permission for the boozer to use his ­likeness in 2014 — with American artist Igor Babailov commissioned to paint him in his Royal Navy uniform.

Landlady Debi Sickelmore and her partner Alan Monks kept the signs up, even when the late Queen stripped her son of his military titles and royal patronages in 2022.

However, they are now retiring after running the pub for 20 years, and all trace of Andrew is being removed.

Its new owners, Hertford-based brewery McMullen and Sons, said the name remains but the Duke’s portraits will not.

The pub’s swing sign was stuffed into the back of a van yesterday as Debi and Alan want to hang it in their garden.

A vast corner sign featuring the Duke’s image still remains in place for now.

It was thought to be the only pub in the world featuring a likeness of a living royal.

KING Charles is to star in a feature-length documentary for Amazon Prime focusing on his charity work and environmentalism.

It began shooting last month and will aim to “show, not tell” how to “transform people, places and ultimately the planet”.

Sources said it will explore the philosophy of his 2010 book Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World, including climate change, architecture and agriculture.

A Palace source said: “The King is looking forward to seeing how the Harmony concept can be communicated to a new and international audience.”

Filming began at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, and it is due to air on Prime at the end of 2025 or start of 2026.

Rival Netflix has a multi­million-pound deal with Charles’ son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.

In 2022 the Sussexes made a six-part docuseries with Netflix called Harry & Meghan, which looked at their exit from royal life.

Harry has also released a series about polo and Meghan’s lifestyle programme, With love, Meghan, is due to be released in March.

LOVE Island All Stars turned explosive as Ekin-Su flung her drink over Curtis before storming off in dramatic scenes.

The fiery moment came after Curtis admitted he had led her on following the recoupling shake-up, where Danielle picked him.

Sitting down for a tense chat, Curtis confessed: “I’ll be completely honest with you. I lied to you.”

Ekin-Su was left fuming, feeling played after Curtis revealed he hadn’t been “1000% honest” and admitted that he should never have told her he was closed off.

He explained that Danielle’s decision caught him off guard, leaving him feeling pressured and confused.

But Ekin-Su wasn’t having any of it.

Furious at his admission, she chucked her drink at him before storming off, declaring: “You don’t exist to me. You’re done. Dusted.”

She then turned her sights on Danielle, sarcastically wishing her “good luck” with Curtis.

The drama kicked off when Danielle shocked the villa by choosing Curtis in the latest recoupling.

The boys later called Curtis out for not sticking to his word, after he had previously told them he planned to have a conversation with Danielle but never did.

After the fallout with Ekin-Su, Curtis pulled Danielle aside to explain himself.

He admitted that he was originally going to tell her he was closed off, but decided he didn’t want to.

THE Sun tracked down university lecturer David Armitage to his remote Thai home to ask if he had any part in his wife’s suspicious death – and he dodged the question.

Instead, he hid behind the advice of British Embassy staff not to comment about the intriguing mystery of his Thai wife Lamduan’s murder.

So I went for the blunter approach: “Let me put it another way, David. Did you kill Lamduan?”

Only then did he ignore Embassy officials and protest his innocence.

The portly English lecturer, now 62, said: “Absolutely not. No, absolutely not. I know the inferences are there but I am just getting on with my life here.”

He promised to answer the rest of my questions about the Lady of the Hills case — named after the unidentified, partially-clothed body was found in a mountain stream in the Yorkshire Dales in 2004 — once the dust had settled.

And he said he was happy to speak to cold-case detectives who were taking a fresh look at the discovery of what turned out to be Lamduan’s body.

That was six years ago, and Armitage has evaded every attempt to quiz him since — by me and the police.

But all that could now change after Thai immigration officials decided to deport him.

He was detained last week at the same house where I confronted him, and was taken to a detention centre in Bangkok, where he is now contemplating his future behind 20ft fences topped with barbed wire.

According to immigration sources who have spoken to him, that future involves the dramatic plan to return home in a bid to clear his name.

He is free to go anywhere once he leaves Thailand.

But his current Thai girlfriend and his son George, a 32-year-old teacher, are said to have persuaded him to return to the UK so he can tell police he had nothing to do with Lamduan’s murder.

A source told The Sun: “George is obviously aware of everything that has happened over the last few years and everything that has been said — as is David’s girlfriend.

“They have persuaded him to go back to the UK to clear his name.

“He is free to go anywhere when he leaves Thailand, but in reality he only has one option — back to Britain.

“He had the choice of appealing the decision to revoke his visa within 48 hours but he did not take it.”

If Armitage does return and speaks to police it may finally shed some light on a case which has baffled them for more than two decades.

It began on September 20, 2004, when hikers doing the 24-mile Three Peaks walk stopped for a photo by a stream near one of the peaks, Pen-y-ghent, where the partially clothed body of a woman lay in the water — which was shown in their picture.

A post-mortem failed to establish a cause of death, although she had not been shot, stabbed or drowned.

Police were unable to identify her and she was dubbed the Lady of the Hills by locals, who arranged for her funeral in the nearby village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

A cold-case review finally led to her identification in 2019 when a relative living in the UK saw an artist’s impression in a police appeal and alerted detectives.

As officers were waiting for test results on DNA samples taken from her parents Buasa and Joomsri, I travelled to Thailand to speak to her Yorkshire-born husband.

He married Lamduan in 1991 after they met in the Thai city of Chiang Mai, and they moved to Portsmouth, where Armitage taught at a further education college and Lamduan washed dishes at a Thai restaurant.

They later moved to Rugby, Warwickshire, and by the summer of 2004 were staying with Armitage’s parents in Cumbria.

Lamduan’s mum Joomsri told how her daughter had reported difficulties in the marriage, but after a final phone call in 2004 she never heard from her again.

She recalled: “She said she missed home so much.

“It was a very short call. We’ve not heard from her since.”

Armitage moved back to Thailand with their two children shortly after Lamduan vanished.

When I caught up with him 15 years later he was working as a university lecturer in Kanchanaburi, the town where 1957 war movie The Bridge On The River Kwai was set.

He had never reported his wife missing, and according to Lamduan’s parents, he had told their children that she had left them to go back to Thailand to marry another man.

When Armitage answered the door at his whitewashed bungalow next to a banana plantation, he said there had been a whispering campaign against him in the Thai media, but insisted he was innocent.

He said: “There is all this innuendo and I’ve got no comeback on it in a country which is not mine. I do feel for the parents.

“I would want to know, in their situation.”

Armitage said he would be happy to speak to North Yorkshire Police, and added: “I made that point to the Embassy. No problem, I actually made that offer.”

In fact he had that opportunity when British detectives flew to Thailand in February 2023, but despite arranging a meeting with them, he cancelled at the last minute.

A spokesman for the Thai police’s Department of Special Investigation said at the time: “He said he didn’t feel well and also had some personal issues.”

Masking what must have been a huge irritation after officers flew 6,000 miles for the interview, cold-case manager Adam Harland said it was “unfortunate” that the meeting had not gone ahead.

But his team may finally get the chance to speak to Armitage if he keeps his pledge to return to the UK following his deportation.

His residency visa was revoked after Interpol issued a Blue Notice against him.

It is not an arrest warrant, but an order that enables police to obtain information about a crime from witnesses and potential suspects living abroad.

Yet the Thai authorities still decided to deport him, under laws which bar foreigners from remaining in Thailand if they are subject to an arrest warrant.

North Yorkshire Police said the decision was an issue for the Thai authorities, and Armitage was free to travel and live anywhere he chose.

He has not been arrested and is not being extradited to the UK, but if he was to return here a force spokesman said officers would “make every effort to speak to him about the investigation”.

As for Lamduan, she remains buried in the graveyard in North Yorkshire.

Her parents have begged for her to be returned home so they can have a Buddhist funeral.

But she can only be exhumed with the consent of her next of kin — her husband.

Joomsri, who is 80 and frail, has given up hope of ever seeing her daughter’s killer brought to justice.

She shed more tears this week when news of the latest development brought the heartache flooding back.

She said: “If my daughter’s spirit can hear me, I want to tell her to rest in peace.”
