‘Failed miserably’ – James Wade reveals where it all went wrong at World Darts Championship
JAMES WADE admits he’s “failed miserably” to get himself back among the big boys of darts.
The Aldershot hotshot defiantly vowed to recapture his form of old and return to the top ten in November 2023.
After a thrilling 10-8 win over Chris Dobey, he roared: “I’ll be back in the top ten.
“Everyone else, worry about themselves and I’ll worry about myself – and I will be.”
Things, however, haven’t gone quite to plan for the former World No.2, who crashed out of the 2025 World Championships in the second round.
Reflecting on the last year, the 41-year-old fan favourite said: “I failed miserably, you know.
“I didn’t didn’t get to that point, which is really frustrating.
“I think I lost for 98-ish in the World Championships. [It was] really, really frustrating.
“But you know it is what it is. [I wasn’t] good enough [and I didn’t do enough.
“A couple little bit of turns and tides would have been enough, but I think 30 other players could have said the same thing.”

Wade, however, isn’t giving up hope of making good on his vow to get back to in amongst the thick of things and compete for trophies.
He continued: “I believe I’m good enough and I believe that with a little bit of luck, the tide will turn.”
He later said: “I still think it’s laughable that people don’t think I can win things, what will be will be.
“I still think I’ll win TV majors and I don’t see any reason why not.”
Wade booked his place in the last 16 of the Winmau World Masters on Friday night with a 3-2 win over World Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker.
His reward for beating De Decker is a quarter-final clash with 2025 World Championship winner Luke Littler.

A MUM who built her 12-year-old daughter her own apartment has hit back at trolls slamming her for “leaving her on her own”.
Audrey found herself at the centre of backlash after sharing a video of herself cleaning the palatial space on her TikTok page.
With trolls almost immediately attacking her for her decision to allow her daughter to stay in the premises “on her own”.
However, in an explanation video, Audrey said that the “apartment” is actually just the upstairs of their garage which has been converted to give the pre-teen her own space.
And she doesn’t even call it an apartment herself – that’s just what people on social media have been calling it.
Explaining how they came up with the idea to create places for their daughter and son to live, Audrey said it was after their house was destroyed in a fire that they started thinking about it.
“We were very disheartened when we lost our house in the fire and had to start over, so we thought to ourselves, how can we turn this into a blessing?” she said.
“And we started thinking about generational wealth and our kids.
“So we thought one thing we could do for them was to create places for them to live in our house so that they can save up for their own house and they’re not ever going to waste their money on rent.
“We are not millionaires but we can create generational wealth by allowing our kids to live with us as long as possible.”
The build cost the couple around £20,000 ($25,000) and comes complete with a bathroom, kitchenette and its own heating and cooling system.
Despite Audrey’s explanation, she was still targeted by trolls in the comments section, one of whom wrote: “What I don’t understand is that a 12-year-old child has an apartment, isn’t it illegal for them to live alone?”
“Alone?? It’s upstairs in our home,” Audrey hit back.
“I don’t understand the question. Our garage is attached to our home!”
“Why don’t your children have bedrooms in the actual house?” another responded.
“I think 12 years old is too young to be separated from the house like that.”
However, speaking to Fabulous Online, Audrey said that the “apartment” isn’t actually separate from their home, and you even have to access it through their house.
“I see a lot of confusion online about that,” she sighed.

“I love to see a parent that actually understands the seriousness of having a child and how to teach them how to succeed in life and not how to please the adults in their life!!” one wrote.
“You are doing more for her than you will ever know!! I wish someone did this for me!”
“It gives her independence, the space to live in her own space and take care of herself which is something she would’ve learned now or later on in her teen years so this is really helping her,” another pointed out.
“It provides autonomy, which adolescents need. But her mother is still there to provide guidance,” a third said.

MARCUS RASHFORD and Ruben Amorim fell out just days into the Manchester United manager’s reign.
Rashford is looking to leave the club before Monday’s transfer deadline, having not played in any of their last 12 games.
The Sun can exclusively reveal that Amorim’s sour relationship with the England star can be traced back to before his third game in charge against Everton on December 1.
Rashford scored twice in a 4-0 win, but he has been named in just one starting line-up since then.
A problem came to a head prior to the Everton game when he was accused of going on a night out by Amorim.
The pair had a heated conversation and the manager questioned his professionalism.
A source told The Sun: “Marcus got called in by Amorim who said he believed he had breached discipline by going out.
“Marcus denied it and was adamant he had done nothing wrong. He asked the manager to show him the proof he’d been out and said something along the lines of, ‘Are you calling me a liar?’
“Their relationship has never recovered, and it’s hard to see how it ever will now.”
It is not the first time partying has been an issue, as last year previous boss Erik ten Hag fined him two weeks’ wages for calling in sick to training after a booze-fuelled bender in Belfast.

Rashford featured briefly in the next three games after the Everton win before being dropped from the squad for the trip to Manchester City and he has not played since.
Amorim explained his decision to leave him out, citing his “performance in training, the way you eat, the way you push your team-mates”.
Two days later, Rashford caught United off guard with a bombshell interview in which he claimed he was “ready for a new challenge”.
The player feels he has been treated unfairly by Amorim on orders from owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who wants his staggering £325,000-a-week wages off the books.
A source told The Sun: “Marcus thinks Sir Jim wants him out of the club and has basically told head coach Ruben Amorim to get him out.
“He might just have met his match with Sir Jim.
“Marcus feels like he is being picked on.
“In the early days of training under Amorim, he was trying to learn new systems and other players were also struggling — but he was the one who was getting more vocal criticism.
“He knows he needs to leave but he’s shocked that no big team has pulled out all the stops to get him.
“There’s been interest but financially it’s a complicated deal and that’s put quite a few teams off.
“Marcus has been left bewildered by how quickly his relationship with Amorim has disintegrated.”
When asked about his Rashford’s exile last week, the Portuguese boss said he would rather put his 63- year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vita on the pitch instead of “a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day”.
It leaves the forward desperately searching for a new club and Aston Villa could reportedly make a late loan offer.
Moves to Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Barcelona have already collapsed due to his £325,000 weekly wage packet proving a stumbling block.
