Chris Taylor’s Dancing on Ice future revealed after pro partner Vanessa Bauer is forced to quit over nasty injury
CHRIS Taylor’s Dancing on Ice future has been revealed after his pro partner Vanessa Bauer was forced to quit the show over a nasty injury.
Vanessa took to her Instagram on Sunday to announce the sad news that she would be withdrawing from this year’s series after sustaining an injury before last Sunday’s live show.

The news came just hours before tonight’s live show is due to go ahead, and many Dancing on Ice fans will have been left wondering what that meant for Vanessa’s celeb partner, Love Island’s Chris Taylor.
Vanessa revealed in her video message that she had been training with Chris all week and skating through the pain she felt, not realising the seriousness of her injury.
It wasn’t until she went for an MRI that she learned she had “a completely torn ligament, grade three sprain injury and a major grade two sprain injury.”
She explained: “My pain threshold, I don’t trust it, I have been skating this whole week with a lot of pain but I just didn’t realise that it was such a significant injury so I didn’t voice my pain.
“I don’t want this injury that is already bad to get even worse and so the one sensible decision is to step away, do rehab, focus on my health – I guess mental health as well – because it’s really bad that I have to leave.”
But ITV confirmed to The Sun Online that Chris, 34, will remain in the competition with a new pro partner.
He has been paired up with Robin Johnstone and the duo will still skate in tonight’s live show.
Chris paid tribute to Vanessa on his Instagram Stories following her announcement.
Chris shared her video on his Instagram Stories and added: “While I’m here, let me tell you something about this woman.
“She is hands down the most committed, determined and inspirational woman I have ever met.
“She gives everything 2000% and it’s been an honour to be taught by her.
“Very, very sad we don’t get to finish this together, but you’ve got an annoying brother for life now.”
The latest series of Dancing on Ice has been plagued with injuries already.
Dame Sarah Storey was forced to withdraw weeks before the first live show after fracturing her ankle in training.
Then comedian Josh Jones sustained an injury in training after his first week skate and was also forced to exit the ITV competition.

‘No words to describe the heartbreak’ – Devastation as tributes pour in for man, 29, following tragic ski resort death
HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to a “bright” and “loving son” who tragically passed away after a horror ski resort accident.
Aidan Bergin, based in Waterford, tragically passed away this week from serious injuries he sustained after plunging from a height of 1,900 feet while taking a picture of the scenery at a mountain ski resort in Bulgaria.
Ivailo Lefterov of the Bulgarian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service told local news sites that the man fell down a gully on the side of Tordoka Peak.
An air ambulance was requested for rescue but it could not reach the Irishman and his recovery was part of an hour-long effort by the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
The 29-year-old was rushed to a hospital in the nearby town of Razlog with “multiple traumas” following his recovery from the mountain.
It is understood that Aidan was part of a group taking pictures of the surrounding scenery when he lost his balance and fell.
The full assessment of his injuries was carried out at the hospital and treatment was provided, but he sadly passed away on Wednesday, January 29.
A heartbreaking notice described the young man as a “gentle soul” who is “deeply missed by Niall, his parents Joe and Máire, brothers Patrick and Eoghan, sister Niamh and her fiancé David, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many many friends both at home and abroad.”
They added: “Aidan, taken so suddenly from us, will live in our hearts for ever.”
The funeral arrangements will be released later on the death notice page.
The family wishes to have no flowers but has encouraged people to donate to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust instead.
‘NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE HEARTBREAK’
Since the news of the tragic passing of Aidan, tributes have started to flood the condolences page, with one old classmate saying how he “will be always be remembered for his bright smile and caring nature”.
A mourner wrote: “Maire, Joe, Niall, Patrick, Niamh and Eoghan, there are no words to describe the heartbreak I am feeling for you all.
“Aidan was a kind, clever and fun soul even as a young child and it has always been evident that your family unit is full of love, strength and friendships.
“I hope this helps on the darkest of days. You are all in my thoughts and I will always remember Aidan with fond memories.”
A close friend added: “I am so desperately sorry to hear of Aidan’s far-too-untimely passing.. He was such a lovely person and I am glad to have known him..
“My deepest sympathies to Niall, and all the family. Ceol síorraí i measc na Naomh go raibh aige.”
‘KIND SOUL’
Another said: “Aidan was a credit to you all and lived life to the fullest albeit too short. As a child Aidan was a bright, clever and kind soul and it’s always been very evident that your family unit is one of love and friendship.
“I hope this gets you through the dark days. You are all in my thoughts and I will always remember Aidan with fond memories xxx.”
A mourner said: “I’m so sad for the awful loss of your beautiful and loving son and friend,Aidan. Thinking and praying for you at this desperately sad time.
“May he rest in peace. I am so sorry that you have to go through this very difficult time.”

I survived Laos alcohol poisoning that killed my pal Simone White & 5 others – I felt paralysed after drinking six shots
A WOMAN who survived the vodka poisoning in Laos that killed six people was left feeling paralysed after drinking shots.
Bethany Clarke was close pals with Simone White and met the lawyer in Southeast Asia to explore the country.
![Sue White and her daughter Simone.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/sue-white-took-two-flights-965552246.jpg?strip=all&w=960)

![Photos of six tourists who died from methanol poisoning in Laos.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image_3acd8b.png?strip=all&w=553)
But it all went horribly wrong, with Bethany telling 60 Minutes Australia they both unknowingly drank the methanol-laced shots that would kill Simone.
The pair were served the free drinks with pals at the Nana Backpackers Hostel in traveller hotspot Vang Vieng.
They each drank six shots, with Bethany saying she watched the bartender pour them and had no clue herself about the poison.
She said the pair woke up feeling incredibly lethargic and only slightly ill.
Bethany said she woke up feeling “not that bad, I didn’t think anything bad was going to happen”.
But now she thinks that was part of the methanol poisoning.
She said: “You just physically can’t move, you’re more or less paralysed.
“You can still walk but everything is much, much, much more difficult than it would be ordinarily.”
But her symptoms became worse and Bethany started feeling nauseous, incredibly fatigued, and she even feinted.
The pair were taken to hospital by other travellers, where Simone began to have seizures and could no longer breath on her own.
Simone would need brain seizure, a surgeon decided, and so Bethany called her friend’s mother Sue at 2am UK time.
Sue said: “It was dreadful it was probably the worst experience of my life, absolutely horrific.”
Bethany was alive for three days on life support in the Laos hospital.
Doctors refused to switch it off due to their religion but told Sue she could do it herself.
![Photo of Simone White, a British lawyer.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/2024-pa-photo-police-laos-951318855.jpg?strip=all&w=960)
Sue had to take a tube out of her dying daughter’s mouth and then make an incredibly painful and “traumatic” decision.
Simone’s inquest heard the tourist died of methanol toxicity and an intracranial haemorrhage.
Bethany has made a full recovery, despite drinking the same number of shots as Simone.
She said it has been difficult coming to terms that she survived while Simone died.
Bethany said: “I think we’ve just had to try and get through the funeral and obviously we want to try and spread awareness and make sure other people don’t have to go through this.
“And then I can sort of start on my own journey of trying to come to terms with it all.”
Eight employees at Nana Backpackers Hostel were arrested over the poisoning, but all were released from custody.
No charges have been laid for the six deaths.
One pal claimed staff refused to call an ambulance and a female worker massaged the toes and feet of one of the Danish women while she was having a seizure.
Danish friends Anne-Sofie Orkild Coyman, 20, and Freja Vennervald, 21, died after they were left vomiting blood for 13 hours.

Disgraced Love Island star Jack Fincham looks carefree as he hits the gym days after being released on bail
LOVE Island star Jack Fincham looked relaxed and carefree as he joined girlfriend Chloe Brockett to head to the gym, just days after being released on bail.
Jack Fincham, who won Love Island 2018 alongside former girlfriend Dani Dyer, was seen smiling as he carried his gym kit and boxing gloves after being freed on bail over a vicious dog attack.

Walking alongside girlfriend and The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Brockett, Jack smiled and looked happy just days after being released on bail.
The reality TV star, 32, is currently appealing a six-week prison sentence after his dog Elvis bit a jogger, leaving him facing potential jail time as well as another attack.
Fincham was sentenced for two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog earlier this year, following a shocking incident where his pet Elvis attacked a runner.
The TV personality has since launched an appeal, allowing him to remain free for now but it remains to be seen whether he will be called to prison for his sentence.
With a legal battle ahead, Jack appeared unbothered as he headed away from the gym where he’s been focusing on an intense training regime ahead of an upcoming boxing match next month.
The match is scheduled for March 1st but whether or not it takes place hangs in the balance, as the former Love Island winner could be back behind bars by the time he’s set to step into the ring.
Jack, who has had a turbulent few months, was seen laughing and joking with Chloe who sipped a coffee.
Chloe has stood by Jack throughout his legal troubles, including hitting back at online trolls who mocked her for her boyfriend’s conviction.
Chloe previously cried in the courtroom when Jack’s conviction and sentence was read out, but he was released just two hours later.
A pal told The Sun: “When the judge handed Jack a custodial sentence Chloe screamed out ‘no’. She was hysterical and had to be supported by family members as she repeatedly said ‘what am I going do without my best friend?’
“Jack tried to reassure Chloe by putting a thumbs up but that did nothing to calm Chloe as she was supported out of court.”
“People forget how young Chloe is because she’s been on our screens for so long but it’s a lot to deal with for a 24 year old girl,” they added.
“She was willing to pay anything to get Jack out on bail and home with her.
“The shock of thinking they would have to spend six weeks apart has brought them closer together.
“Chloe is Jack’s rock right now.”
Jack’s sog Elvis bit runner Robert Sudell in 2022 in Swanley, Kent, and attacked a woman in Grays, Essex, last June.
In court, he admitted two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog, with one of the incidents causing injury.
After the first incident in September 2022, Jack attended a dog behaviour course, and was given three rules to follow in order to avoid further trouble.
These were to always keep the dog on the lead, for the dog to wear a muzzle when outside and to not leave the animal alone with anyone under the age of 16.
His failure to comply led to the second incident in June 2024.
As part of the sentence, Jack was also ordered to pay £3,680 – including £200 compensation fee to Robert and a £50 compensation fee to the other victim.
