The venue has a modest capacity of 180 seats.

Despite its cosy setting, ticket sales for the preview performance on March 26 have reportedly been slow, with only 64 seats sold as of yesterday.

Tickets for the production range from £10 to £35.

Amanda, who shares two children with The Office and Sherlock star Martin Freeman, stars alongside Outlander actress Rosie Day, who also wrote the play.

The dark comedy has been described as “Saltburn meets Schitt’s Creek”.

A source told The Mail on Sunday, “You have to wonder if Amanda hadn’t got herself entangled in the whole row with Giovanni whether she might have something a little more high-profile and better paid.”

“It is such a shame they fell out. If they hadn’t, they could have won Strictly and Amanda would be the most sought-after woman in town.

“But she felt she needed to speak up for other women. Arguably, you have to wonder whether that came at a cost.”

Meanwhile, a police investigation into a death threat sent to Amanda has widened.

The actress received a chilling email earlier this year warning she would “die on stage” unless she retracted a complaint about her former Strictly partner, Giovanni Pernice.

Authorities have since traced the email to a computer at a London university building and are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify the sender.

A source close to Amanda told The Sun on Sunday: “She’s very relieved the police are continuing to try and find this person.

“Since leaving Strictly and making her complaint about what’s happened, Amanda’s received an absolute onslaught of threats and abuse.

“People have sent her rape threats and also threatened her children.

“But this one was particularly sinister and chilling. It left her totally terrified.

“Amanda just wants to make sure whoever sent it is caught so that nobody else has to go through what she has.”

The message was to the Park Theatre in north Finchley, London, in August where Amanda was performing in When It Happens To You At the time the BBC were coming towards the end of a complex probe into allegations she made about her former dance partner.

In their report – which was released in September – the BBC upheld six of the 17 complaints Amanda made and apologised publicly to her.

Their probe ruled that Giovanni had been guilty of bullying behaviour.

In an exclusive interview, she later told us how her stint on the show had been toxic.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers were still investigating an “alleged malicious communication”.

Giovanni Pernice Strictly scandal timeline

October 2023: Amanda abruptly withdraws from Strictly having already missed one live show. Her departure is announced in a vague BBC statement that ‘wishes her the best’.

Giovanni posts a short message on social media addressing the exit, which read: “Amanda… I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love.”

Amanda then shares her own farewell statement on Instagram thanking co-stars but failing to mention Gio.

Giovanni’s dad Piero insists there were no signs of a fall out and the pairing could have gone all the way. He praised his son as kind and polite.

November 2023: Giovanni is reportedly gutted by the situation and is considering his Strictly future as questions are raised about his conduct.

January 2024: Amanda’s PTSD diagnosis comes to light and she demands CCTV from rehearsals to prove that Giovanni’s training methods weren’t acceptable.

The BBC issues a statement defending its duty of care to contestants, insisting it takes any claims of wrongdoing very seriously.

The Corporation stands by its man after emergency meeting

March 2024: Giovanni publicly states he has no intention of leaving Strictly in a TV interview with close pal Anton du Beke.

Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore enter the picture. Allegedly the two celebs, who were both previously partnered with Giovanni on Strictly, didn’t feel the BBC took their issues with his methods seriously enough.

The pair have a closed meeting with Amanda where tears are said to be shed.

The BBC launches an internal investigation after three complainants instruct lawyers. A source describes it as a “nightmare situation”.

Legendary Mercedes driven by five-time F1 champion sold for £42.7MILLION – more than double previous record – at auction

AN ICONIC Mercedes Formula One car has made history by doubling the record for the most expensive Grand Prix car ever sold.

The striking silver Mercedes W196 R Stromlinienwage, chassis number 00009/54, was sold for a staggering £42.7million (€52.92m) by an unnamed buyer.

One of only four complete versions ever built, it is only one of the most famous racing cars ever made having been driven by five-time F1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio and British icon Sir Stirling Moss.

Boasting a top speed of 186mph, the remarkable machine that typifies the “Silver Arrows” nickname claimed victory on its debut in 1955 at the Buenos Aires Grand Prix, but with a cigar shaped open-wheel design.

It won five more races that season to win both the driver’s and constructors’ championship.

The car was sold by RM Sotheby’s on behalf of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

The previous record for the most expensive grand prix car sold also belongs to a Fangio-driver Mercedes, the 1954 Mercedes W196 which sold at Goodwood, England for £19.6m ($29.6m) in 2013.

However, it pales in comparison to the most expensive sports car ever sold.

That title belongs to 300SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe, which was sold in May 2022 for £113m ($140m).

The W196 R was donated to the IMS by Mercedes in 1965, and was held for almost 60 years before being auctioned off to raise funds for the museum’s restoration efforts.

IMS curator, Jason Vansickle, said: “It’s a beautiful car, it’s a very historic car, it’s just a little bit outside our scope window.

“We’ve been fortunate to be stewards of this vehicle for nearly 60 years and it has been a great piece in the museum but with this auction and the proceeds raised, it really will allow us… to be better in the future.”

Mercedes withdrew from the motorsport in 1955 following a Le Mans 24 Hours disaster which tragically killed 84 people.

They eventually returned in 2010, where they have since won eight constructors titles and seven drivers titles – six with Lewis Hamilton and one with Nico Rosberg.

Are We There Yet? was a family classic which featured rapper Ice Cube and Nia Long becoming a staple film in many childhoods.

Aleisha Allen played the character of Lindsey Kingston alongside her onscreen brother Kevin played by Phillip Bolden.

20 years later Aleisha looks as though she’s barely aged a day even though she’s ditched the braces.

Aleisha wore Lindsey’s iconic polka dot hat and even sporting the exact same backpack she wore in the film.

“As of TODAY, y’all have known this girl, “Lindsey”, for 20 YEARS!!!! “Are We There Yet?” premiered on January 21, 2005. So crazy!!! (How could that be, when I’m only 21?!)”

“Wow. “Lindsey” is dynamic, sharp, fearless, protective, funny, and steadfast. She’s the kind of character that has longevity, had a solid arc of character development for a preteen, and I am honored she was mine to play, in both films.

“Here’s a fun little recreation of “Lindsey” 20 years later (it was really trippy putting on this costume again lol)- with the SAME BACKPACK and MARKER! Lots of fond memories from this project.

“Thank you SO much for watching for all these, many, years and for sharing in the joys of this nostalgia with me. (Y’all getting old)”

Fans took to the comments in disbelief over the stars pic, one user said: “Not you looking the EXACT same!! I love it!”
