Aldi Ireland is set to sell kettle and toaster sets for a bargain price this Thursday.

It reads on their website: “Add some style and functionality to your kitchen with these Textured Kettle & Toaster essentials.”

The bargain buy has a capacity of 1.7 litres, making it perfect for the whole family.

The toaster also comes with three features: reheat, defrost and a stop button.

And a detachable crumb tray is included in the price.

What’s more, the matching set comes in three different colours – blue, white or yellow.

The bargain buy is set to sell out fast, so shoppers must be quick.

The supermarket also has other kitchen staples for a bargain price.

The Ambiano Air Fryer With Windows is priced at €49.99 and is set to hit the stores nationwide from Thursday, February 6.

And it is €80 cheaper than the equivalent.

The air fryer has excellent benefits, such as creating healthy, low-fat alternatives to deep-fried food without losing flavour.

It cooks food like a traditional convection oven in a small machine with a window, allowing you to view the food while cooking and preventing heat loss when you open it.

The digital touch screen lets you control the air fryer based on its temperature, timer and cooking presets.

It features 12 cooking functions: cooking, frying, toasting, roasting, reheating, deep frying, baking, grilling, rotisserie chicken, dehydrating, defrosting and blast cooking.

It includes an extensive range of accessories, including two baking grid trays, an oil tray, a chicken rotisserie and a round rotating basket.

The air fryer’s capacity is 4.8 litres with a standard appliance interior.

It serves approximately 4-5 people, perfect for a large family.

For those who worry about the machine overheating, do not fret as it comes with overheating protection, meaning it is very unlikely for it to overheat.

The air fryer features a sleek design that can fit seamlessly into any kitchen decor – and it can be put away in the cupboard.

It also comes with a three-year guarantee.

Aldi Ireland’s air fryer is a cheaper alternative to the Ninja Deluxe Air Fryer MAX PRO, priced at €129.99 – making it €80 cheaper.

However, the cheaper alternative has a smaller capacity; the original offers 6.2 litres, which can fit up to four chicken breasts.

THE HISTORY OF ALDI

The German discount supermarket chain came to Ireland in 1999.

Aldi’s first few shops opened in November 1999, with locations in Sandyford, Dublin, and Ballincollig, Cork.

By the mid-2000s, Aldi bosses had opened numerous stores, focusing on providing high-quality products at low prices.

As the recession hit 2008-2012, Aldi’s popularity grew as consumers became more price-conscious.

The supermarket giant continued it’s expansion in Ireland between 2013-2018, while refurbishing existing stores.

By 2018, Aldi had over 130 shops throughout the country.

The chain began to focus on expanding its range of Irish-made products and supporting local producers.

In 2023, Aldi had over 140 stores in Ireland.

The store invested in sustainability initiatives, such as reducing plastic packaging and increasing the availability of organic and eco-friendly products.

Aldi chiefs said: “At Aldi we are committed to supporting Irish suppliers. Developed in partnership with Bord Bia, Grow with Aldi is designed to help the very best Irish suppliers develop their brand.

“To date, we’ve invested €10 million in our Grow with Aldi development programme in a bid to find the very best Irish suppliers.

“As a result, for a limited time only there are over 47 new products, from 27 Irish suppliers available in store.”

Aldi have introduced technological advancements with self-checkout systems and contactless payment options.

The sunshine spot with golden beaches, €2 pints, sunset cruises, cliff jumping, and €38 Ryanair flights

TAKE a look at the sunshine spot with golden beaches, €2 pints and cliff jumping – with Ryanair flights from just €38.

Naples is Italy’s third largest city after Rome and Milan, and is the capital of the Campania region.

Naples enjoys year round warm weather[/caption]

Located in the southwest of the country, Naples is a coastal area popular among tourists.

It offers all that you would need for a short getaway from stunning beaches and natural beauty to memorable culture and nightlife.

And the spot boasts year-round warm weather, with temperatures as high as 24°C even in the winter months.

It’s the perfect place for jetsetters to shake off dull winter weather and embrace the sun.

Not only that, but Naples Airport is only roughly three hours from Ireland.

Ryanair is offering flights to the city’s main airport for just €38 on selected dates.

The airline giant flies from Dublin Airport straight to Naples so holidaygoers can reach the sunny spot without travelling too far.

Once in Naples, the city has heaps to offer that can be packed into a weekend trip.

Most visitors would recommend spending at least three to four days in Naples, but if you have more time, you won’t be sorry.

Like any coastal European city, Naples offers miles of stunning beaches to soak up the sun.

The beautiful Bagno Elena is a favourite among families and children and is set against a backdrop of a stunning old world palace.

The beach is divided into three main areas – the first is the central pier, which is ideal for lounging on a sunbed.

It’s the perfect spot for holidaygoers to sit and relax with a cocktail or a good book and has a gorgeous view of the surrounding area.

On either side are the other parts of the beach, which have shallow water safe enough to swim in.

There are also plenty of sunbeds to rent and the delicious Il Ristorante located on the pier.

OPEN WATERS

For a more unique take on city swimming, head to Rocce Verdi, where although you have to pay a small entrance fee, there is plenty to do.

The rocky spot, known in English as Green Rocks for the colour the rocks turn when the tide comes in, is perfect for adventure lovers.

There, visitors can head to the top of a rocky cliff and dive into the saltwater pools below, or rent a kayak to head out into the open waters.

There are also more sunbeds available to rent, so no matter your speed, you’ll be comfortable.

After a day at the beach, there’s plenty more on offer in the stunning city.

DAY TRIP

An old world charm means the spot is filled with winding alleyways and cobbled streets.

And there are some beautiful must-see buildings, such as the San Carlo Theatre and the Royal Palace of Naples.

History buffs should plan a day trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, about an hour outside the city.

The famous city of Pompeii was preserved in 79 AD after the massive volcanic eruption, leaving it covered in ash.

Plenty of tours offer a half day or one day trip from the city to the historic site, and it’s a must see when in Naples.

NEW SIDE OF THE CITY

There are plenty of other exciting activities on offer including a cruise along the coastline.

Some of the trips include food and drinks, and others will take you out at sunset so you can enjoy a truly picturesque moment.

Another great activity is to take a tour of the famous underground caves which wind under the city.

Built during the Roman Empire, the tunnels offer a glimpse into the city’s fascinating past.

At night, there’s a whole other side to Naples that is well worth seeing.

From low-key, culture-focused nights to heart-pumping dance fun, the city offers all that you need for a great night.

And with a pint of beer costing just €2 in some places, it’s easy to make the most of a night out without breaking the bank.

One of the most popular areas among Neapolitan locals is Chiaia, an upmarket area filled with cocktail bars and delicious restaurants.

Shane Lowry makes touching gesture to ‘best friend’ Rory McIlroy after missing out on ‘my ultimate goal’ at Pebble Beach

SHANE LOWRY said it was “pretty cool” to see his “best friend” Rory McIlroy “in full flow” during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

McIlroy outlasted his Irish counterpart for his first PGA Tour win of 2025 last weekend in California.

Both men pocketed a cool seven-figure sum EACH for their efforts, but that did not dampen Lowry’s disappointment.

Taking to Instagram, he said: “Reflecting on my week at Pebble Beach.

“I’m disappointed to fall short of what my ultimate goal was on Sunday but all in all proud of how I fought, especially when the going got tough yesterday.”

The 2019 Open Champion made the point of praising McIlroy, adding: “To watch one of my good friends in full flight doing his thing was also pretty cool.

“Finally thanks to everyone at AT&T and Pebble Beach for a great week”.

Lowry can rest easy with the consolation that his performance and second placed finish saw him jump up the world rankings.

Lowry, whose best-ever world ranking came after he won the 2019 Open Championship, surged to number 16 that year.

Going into last week’s event in California at the iconic Pebble Beach, he was ranked number 28, but now he’s jumped ten places to 18 in the official world rankings.

He’s also leapt up to ninth on the FedEx Cup ladder after missing the cut two weeks ago at the Farmers Insurance Open.

He also gained vital Ryder Cup points as he shot up to fourth on the European qualifying table.

McIlroy leads the way ahead of Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard, and Shane Lowry.

The iconic team event gets underway in September at Bethpage Black GC in New York.

Rory McIlroy remains in third place in the world rankings but is hot on the heels of Xander Schauffele after his first PGA Tour win of the season.

Scottie Scheffler remains way out in front at the top of the rankings.

And, like McIlroy, the event was the American’s first PGA Tour start of the 2025 season.

The two-time major winner returned after a cooking accident that left him requiring surgery.

Scheffler finished T9 at the event, six shots behind McIlroy’s winning score.

The PGA Tour heads to Phoenix this week for the WM Open.

Major €96 TV & broadband price blow for 600,000 Irish as exact date of money change & people not impacted revealed

THOUSANDS of Irish households are set to see a major jump in the cost of TV and broadband.

Sky Ireland has raised the price of its broadband and TV subscription services – a move estimated to hit around 600,000 households.

Customers will see their bills increase by up to €96 a year from the start of April, with broadband products to rise by €4 a month – or €48 a year – with the exception of the Sky 1Gb Fibre option.

There will then be a €3 rise per month on TV base packs, with a €2 rise per month for Sky Kids.

However, customers could also see an increase of €8 per month, leading to a total rise of €96 per year, which the rises are capped at.

The move is expected to be followed by Eir, Vodafone and Three Ireland, as each have a set percentage increase every April.

The total price hike is set to work out at an average of 4.5 per cent a year.

The new increases will not impact those who are still subject to promotional introductory terms.

Sky Ireland said in a statement: “In the coming weeks, we will notify our TV and broadband customers regarding a price increase that will come into effect from April 1, 2025.

“This price increase will impact our TV and broadband customers, with the average bill to rise by 4.5pc.”

They added that the new price hikes reflect the investment it made to improve its products and services.

They also said the increase is to help ease the costs they continue to see heighten.

They added: “We know price increases are never welcome and have tried to keep this increase as low as possible by absorbing costs where we can, while still providing our customers with as much value as possible for the services and content they know and love.”

Sky Ireland noted that they had recently made investments in new content.

They have also confirmed they are extending their existing sports rights.

Last year, Sky Ireland made a similar move which saw hundreds of thousands hit with price hikes.

Customers were hit with increased of around €52 this time last year.

In separate money news, it was announced as part of Budget 2025 that every household in Ireland would be receiving two lump sums towards their electricity.

This payment is automatically applied to your energy bill in the form of two €250 amounts.

The first payment was made in the last few weeks of 2024.

The next lump sum amount will be paid out to Irish customers before the end of February.
