Jet2 launches more flights to two Greek holiday hotspots next summer due to soaring demand
BRITS are battling January blues by booking their summer getaways forcing airlines to extend their summer season.
Greece is top of the list for summer holidays with the city of Kalamata and Chania on the island of Crete being hugely popular locations.
Brits are increasingly looking at spending spring and early summer at two Greek locations[/caption] More Jet2 flights will be operating between the UK and Kalamata[/caption] Flights to Chania on the island of Crete will start in April 2026[/caption]Soaring demand has already seen UK airline Jet2.com and tour operator Jet2holidays increase flights to the two Greek hotspots for summer 2026.
The move will see the summer season start earlier than ever before.
Jet2 flights to Kalamata and Chania will begin at the start of April as Brits look to get some sun months before summer.
Others may be looking to work on their tans for Easter.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays told GTP: “Kalamata and Crete (Chania) are enormously popular destinations, and we continue to see strong demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to book or travel earlier in the summer season or for Easter.
“As ever, we have reacted quickly to that demand by extending the Summer 26 seasons to Kalamata and Chania, providing customers with the holiday choices that they want.”
Jet2 flights from the UK to Chania will begin on April 3 and flights to Kalamata on April 5.
This extended summer season will benefit flyers departing from Manchester Airport and London Stansted.
There will also be more flights to the two islands over summer 2026 from Birmingham Airport, as well as Manchester and Stansted.
Jet2 is promising holidaymakers and independent travel agents many more options and flexibility in 2026.
Flyers departing from Birmingham currently see twice-weekly services to Chania from May to October 30.
With the new changes there will be additional flights on Fridays from April 3 to 24, 2026.
At Manchester Airport, Jet2 currently runs up to three weekly flights to Chania between May and October.
There are also up to two weekly flights to Kalamata from May to early November.
The summer 2026 extension will add twice weekly flights to Chania on Tuesdays and Fridays between April 3 and April 28, 2026, as well as extra flights on Sundays to Kalamata from April 5 to 26.
Meanwhile, Jet2 will add more flights to Chania on Tuesdays from April 7 to 28, 2026 as well as Sunday flights to Kalamata from April 5 to 26, 2026.
This will be in addition to the current schedule of up to three weekly flights to Chania between May and October and up to two weekly flights to Kalamata from May to November.
For those who don’t want to fly, The Sun previously reported on the four cruises on offer for the whole family including sailing the Greek Islands.
Marella Cruises will be running a trip sailing from Limassol in Cyprus on May 21.
It will call at Kusadasi, Turkey; Mykonos; Piraeus for Athens; Souda for Chania, Crete and Rhodes before returning to Limassol.

LAST Sunday night, Vicky Pattison sat alone and uploaded her own deepfake sex tape to Twitter.
It was an incredibly brave move to immerse herself entirely into the terrifying world of AI image abuse for a hard-hitting TV documentary.
But it sparked a backlash from victims who criticised the “PR stunt” as “deeply disrespectful”.
It’s left the I’m A Celeb winner in bits — because the horrifying rise in online attacks of women is something she cares about deeply.
Speaking for the first time about the project, Vicky, 37, told the Sun on Sunday: “The video itself has always been the part of the documentary I’ve wrestled with the most.
“So it isn’t a decision I made lightly, and it is one that I struggled with right until the end.
“Like, right until Sunday night I was asking — am I doing the right thing?
“I completely understand some people might be angry and upset about what we’ve done and I in no way want to diminish that.
“I’d never want to trivialise victims’ feelings.
Image abuse
“I had the privilege of speaking to brave survivors and a lot of them felt that creating the mock deepfake sex tape was a bold way to shine a much-needed spotlight on the issue.
“This form of abuse — it’s not slowing down.
“It’s just finding its feet.
“I’ve made my peace with the way we’ve chosen to tackle this problem.”
Vicky had been married to businessman Ercan Ramadan, 31, for just a month when she told him about the gritty documentary she was hoping to make with Channel 4.
Off the back of her campaigning for women’s rights, including tackling poverty and reproductive health, the reality star was asked if she was prepared to put her face to a sex tape to investigate explicit deepfake abuse.
It involved her directing actors to simulate a sex scene, then allowing AI to add her face to the footage.
The 45-second clip appeared to show Vicky engaged in a sex act — first wearing a bra then, later, topless.
When it went online on X/Twitter at 8pm last Sunday, Vicky couldn’t bring herself to ask Ercan to be with her.
She said: “I know the sex tape is getting a lot of the focus right now, because it’s very shocking.
“I understand that — this hasn’t been very nice for my family.
“I don’t think this is how we pictured the first six months of our marriage.
“Ercan was there for me a lot.
“He features in the documentary but he had his limits, so I was mindful of that.
“This was my decision alone.
I know the sex tape is getting a lot of the focus right now, because it’s very shocking. I understand that — this hasn’t been very nice for my family. I don’t think this is how we pictured the first six months of our marriage
Vicky Pattison
“I was aware there’s only so much I can ask the people who love me to do. So I sat there by myself.”
Normally bright and bubbly, it’s clear that the impact of making the documentary has hit Vicky hard, and her emotion is beyond that of just a celebrity caught on the hop.
She is at pains to explain her actions to deepfake victims, such as one who spoke to The Sun using the campaign name Jodie.
Jodie said she was “deeply offended, let down and disappointed” by Vicky’s move, which would fuel “harmful narratives” and was “disrespectful” to those who had endured the “torture” of sexual image abuse.
Vicky said: “I can’t compare my experience to what the victims of this go through, I really can’t.
“My heart goes out to them.
“I want to assure them that their feelings are valid and that I in no way want to diminish that.
Vicky with supportive husband Ercan Ramadan[/caption] Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape is on Channel 4 on Tuesday at 10pm[/caption]“But I would like to say that, if it’s not too distressing, I hope they can watch the documentary and see that there is so much more to this than a deepfake sex tape that we’ve created.”
A big driver for Vicky in this project has been her desire to become a mum.
In 2023, she shared her journey to freeze her eggs after struggling with her reproductive health due to premenstrual dysphoric disorder — an extreme form of PMS.
Vicky said: “Ercan and I are planning on starting a family really soon and you are just terrified about the world you’re bringing kids up in.”
So how does she feel about the fact that one day any children she has could find Mum’s “sex tape”, I ask.
Vicky thinks for a minute.
The arrival of the internet means things do live forever. But a huge part of why those who create sexually explicit deepfakes get away with what they do is because of the feeling of shame the victims have
Vicky Pattison
She says: “The arrival of the internet means things do live forever.
“But a huge part of why those who create sexually explicit deepfakes get away with what they do is because of the feeling of shame the victims have.
“One of the big goals for us when we made this documentary was to help remove that feeling of shame, that stigma, and to help women stand with the brave women who are reclaiming their lives.
“So I won’t shy away from what I’ve done.
“Whether I have girls or boys, I will teach them about the pitfalls of AI.”
And, to ask bluntly, how does the future father of her kids really feel about her “appearing naked” online?
Vicky said: “Ercan has been really supportive.
“But if he’s said it once, he must have said it a million times — ‘It’s not you’. ‘It’s not you, though, is it?’
“But if we were going to give this the gravity it deserved, this is how it had to be done, I think.”
Sex tape journey
The fallout of Vicky’s tape going live will feature in the documentary and, as such, the project is still being filmed.
Viewers will watch her go through the near-impossible task of trying to erase the footage, and the many copies spawned, from the internet.
It is the final step in Vicky’s deepfake sex tape journey, which begins with her speaking to victims and campaigners.
She meets politician Cara Hunter and C4 News presenter Cathy Newman, both victims of deepfake abuse, who have campaigned for a change in legislation — and both backed Vicky’s sex tape “stunt”.
She also meets Baroness Charlotte Owen, who is leading the charge in England and begs Vicky to reconsider.
In addition, earlier this week campaigner Jodie told The Sun: “It could compromise her safety, increase traffic to the websites profiting from non-consensual abuse, and undermine the fight for survivor-centred legislation.”
But Vicky’s mind was made up after he spent time with another victim called Sophie.
The 31-year-old mum-of-two was the subject of extensive image abuse by her brother-in-law.
Vicky left the woman’s house in tears.
She said: “I met a lot of victims and survivors of this.
I met a lot of victims and survivors of this. And seeing how these incredibly strong women have dealt with it and put their lives back together was just heartbreaking
Vicky Pattison
“And seeing how these incredibly strong women have dealt with it and put their lives back together was just heartbreaking.
“We’ve had survivor-led testimony throughout this documentary from women who wanted their stories out there, wanted us to raise awareness, wanted us to advocate for change.
“A big concern for me throughout filming was that I wasn’t strong enough or wasn’t going to be able to stop crying.
“I did let myself down at moments, I think, and cry a bit much.
“But that is who I am and I do really care.
“I think I ended up a bit overwhelmed.
“I want this to go well.
“I want it to have the effect women desperately need.
“Fundamentally I was in control — and that is something they don’t have.”
The Government has announced plans to criminalise the creation of sexually explicit deepfakes but, as it stands, the law has not yet been passed.
A 2024 C4 News probe found that nearly 4,000 celebrities have been the victims of deepfake pornography.
Without people speaking up and using their voices to advocate for change, we are not going to get ironclad legislation. You haven’t seen the last of me. I intend to make myself a real nuisance until we get stuff done
Vicky Pattison
The biggest deepfake site, which this newspaper is choosing not to name, gets more than 13million hits a month.
It is this that Vicky is keen for her critics focus on.
She said: “Without people speaking up and using their voices to advocate for change, we are not going to get ironclad legislation.
“We’re not going to get better education for young boys.
“We’re not going to get better victim support.
“We’re not going to get the big tech companies to step up and make changes to shut down these sites.
“For me, this is not something I’m just going to make a one-off documentary about then walk away.
“For the victims, this has a long tail and for me, being involved will have a long tail too.”
This isn’t the first time Vicky has campaigned about womens’ issues, either.
Last year she spoke at the Houses of Parliament about female reproductive health and just last week she attended the Women’s March in London.
Vicky added: “I’m a tiny cog in a massive machine but I think you owe it to yourself if you have a platform or a voice to use it.
“Ultimately, I have faith in what we’ve done and I will continue to have confidence and pride in it.
“You haven’t seen the last of me.
“I intend to make myself a real nuisance until we get stuff done.”

Masked Singer Wolf’s identity ‘revealed’ as fans spot telling clue
THE Masked Singer fans are convinced they have worked out who the Wolf is.
On tonight’s show, Wolf took to the stage to perform The Candy Man, after it was revealed that song choices are also clues.
Wolf took to the stage with a rendition of Candy Man tonight[/caption] Fans are sure it is Marti Pellow[/caption]And viewers think the hit was a nod to Wet, Wet, Wet’s song Sweet Little Mystery – and that the main behind the mask in none other than singer Marti Pellow.
Taking to social media to discuss it, one person wrote: “Wolf is 10000000% Marti Pellow.”
A second commented: “#maskedsingeruk wolf marti pellow. The umbrellas, wet wet wet and the candy man song, sweet little mystery.”
While a third said: “Marti Pellow is Wolf #maskedsingeruk candy is sweet…sweet little mystery??”
Last week viewers were convinced it was lead vocalist band of Duran Duran Simon Le Bon.
Marti enjoyed great success with Wet Wet Wet throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Hits included Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes and Good Night Girl.
Their greatest hit to date was Love Is All Around which featured on the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral.
It was a huge international success and spent 15 weeks at the top the British charts.
Marti left Wet Wet Wet in May 1999, effectively disbanding the group.
They reformed in March 2004.
However in 2018, Marti quit the group as was replaced by former Liberty X star Kevin Simm.
Storm Eowyn leaves trail of destruction as man killed after tree fell on car named & 402,000 homes without electricity
THE first victim of Storm Eowyn has been named as emergency services battle desperately to get the country back on its feet.
Kacper Dudek, 20, tragically died after a tree fell on his car at Feddyglass on the Lifford to Letterkenny road on Friday.
His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary in Letterkenny University Hospital.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
As locals struggled to come to terms with the tragedy, major clean-up efforts were underway following the record-breaking storm which hit on Friday.
Storm Eowyn caused devastation nationwide as it ripped through buildings, trees and power lines and left a trail of destruction in its path.
Record 183kph winds battered the country, leaving thousands of homes across the country without electricity this weekend.
Some 402,000 homes are still without power as ESB crews work tirelessly to restore lines.
They said roughly 366,000 homes, farms and businesses had their power restored so far, but warned that others could be left waiting for several days.
ESB Networks acknowledged that “the impact on customers and damage to the electricity network nationwide is unprecedented”.
Siobhan Wynne of ESB Networks told RTE radio earlier: “Our crews are out on the ground. They’ve been out all morning, restoring power and assessing the damage out on site.
“We would be hoping to get a large numbers of customers restored over the course of this weekend, but for the really badly impacted areas, we will be looking at over a week for those customers.
“We are aware that there is further impending weather on the horizon. We’re monitoring it, and we will assess whether that’s going to impact us. It may hamper our restoration effort, but we will continue and we just assess it as we go along.
“We have been in contact with other utilities in both the UK and in other European utilities, so we’re just awaiting to hear back from them in terms of their own damage and whether they’re going to be able to release crews to us.”
The National Emergency Co-ordination Group (NECG) met today and are due to meet again as clean-up efforts progress.
But they warned that full restoration could take up to a week in the worst affected areas.
Keith Leonard, Chair of the NECG said: “Although the recovery stage is now well underway, the damage caused by Storm Éowyn will still present hazards on our roads, so I’m asking drivers to continue taking extra care this weekend.
“In particular, please heed the advice from the ESB – never approach fallen power lines and report such cases to ESB Emergency Services.
“Major clean-up and road clearance operations should also be left to the emergency services and professional operators who are trained to do such work safely.
“The NECG continues to focus on co-ordinating efforts to restore power, water, telecommunications and other services to the many homes, farms and businesses affected by this storm.
“A whole of Government effort is underway to ensure we get the right resources to the right places and get the country back to normal as soon as possible, with the Defence Forces and many state agencies, including the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Coillte, providing manpower, resources and assistance to clear obstructions and to help ESB Networks to restore connection to those still without power.
“There will continue to be significant impacts to services across all sectors in the coming days due the severity of the impact to the power distribution network, but every effort is being made to restore power and services as fast as humanly possible.”
Newly elected Taoiseach Michael Martin thanked all those helping in the effort to respond to the ferocious storm, and echoed the warnings of the NECG.
He said: “The destruction caused by some of the strongest winds on record has been unprecedented, and there is still a huge amount of work needed in the days ahead to restore electricity, water and communications to hundreds of thousands of people.
“I’m grateful for the efforts of multiple state agencies to help those most in need, and we understand how difficult it is for homes and businesses across the island.
“This is a whole of Government effort including ESB, EirGrid, Irish Water, Local Authorities, the Defence Forces, Civil Defence, the NPWS, Coillte and others.
“I’ve been briefed by the Chair of the National Emergency Coordination Group, which will meet again today, and every effort is being made to get high voltage transmission lines up and running, homes reconnected and water supplies secured.”
He urged that every effort was being made to get high voltage transmission lines up and running, homes reconnected and water supplies secured.
Mr Martin added: “My Government will fully assess the situation in the coming days to see what supports we can offer people and businesses caught up in the aftermath of this storm.”
More than 120,000 people were also still without water, Irish Water confirmed as they explained that crews were working overtime.
Head of water operations at Irish Water, Margaret Attridge, told RTE One O’Clock News: “Over the course of today, we will be continuing to get generators out to site, to get treatment plants back into production.
“Where we cannot connect up a generator now, we have alternative water supplies in the form of tankers going out, situated in locations in communities like church, car parks, GAA pitch grounds. Information of where those locations are can be found on our website.”
As the massive Storm Eowyn clean-up operation continues, weather chiefs have warned of another storm brewing.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather said Storm Herminia is set to hit Spain, but it will bring us wet and windy weather tomorrow and on Monday.
Masked Singer in fakery row as fans accuse judges of pretending not to know ‘obvious’ voice
FANS of The Masked Singer UK are accusing the hit show of being fake after spotting a clue as to why.
The hit show aired once again this evening on ITV, with the cute little Bush as the first character to croon a song.
Fans are convinced they’ve figured out the identity of Bush[/caption] Bush performed Our House by Madness this evening[/caption] Fans have slammed the judges for ‘pretending’ not to know the celebrity behind the Bush costume[/caption]Fans of the show are convinced that after a few clues – and an unmistakable voice – they have rumbled the identity of Bush.
And many fans are sure that the judges are pretending to not know who is the celebrity behind the mask is, on purpose.
Viewers think that EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy is the celebrity behind the disguise of Bush after they performed a rendition of Our House by Madness.
“That is SO obviously Natalie Cassidy,” one person penned before adding how they think the judges “must be pretending if they’re saying it might be somebody else”.
They concluded: “The show is a joke #maskedsingeruk.”
Another added: “Everyone in the UK knows that Bush is Natalie Cassidy, except these judges apparently.”
While a third penned: “How do they not hear that it’s Natalie Cassidy?! Especially now with the Dean clue ..Dean Gaffney, come on people! #MaskedSingerUK.”
MAJOR CLUES SPOTTED
Meanwhile, another viewer detailed each of the clues that point towards Bush being Natalie.
“Bush is such a cute character and fun performer,” penned the X user, adding: “Letter of acceptance from the Dean… Gaffney?
“Our House in the middle of Albert Square?
“More references to Australia – ‘Roo’, ‘wild’, ‘koala’ – who did a show called Wild In Australia? Natalie Cassidy! @ThisisDavina #MaskedSingerUK.”
And many other fans are in agreement.
“If Bush isn’t Natalie Cassidy I’d be stunned,” penned one fan after Bush’s performance on Saturday night.
“Has to be Natalie Cassidy from EastEnders as the Bush on. That voice is so distinctive,” said another.
Who has left The Masked Singer 2025 so far?
Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.
Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.
Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.
Here’s who has been unmasked so far:
Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks
Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray
Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity
Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.
Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.
While a third added: “I’m thinking Bush is Natalie Cassidy AKA Sonia from Eastenders judging by the voice.”
And a fourth said: “Bush is Natalie Cassidy AKA Sonia Fowler and I will be not be convinced or told otherwise.”
Husband’s heartbreaking words after wife is jailed for abusing him ‘night after night’ and ‘making his life misery’
A CRUEL wife has been jailed for making her husband’s life a complete misery through a campaign of violence.
Helen Thornton, 45, stabbed him with the sharp point of an electric toothbrush and repeatedly hit him with a rolling pin.
Helen Thornton was jailed for two years and given a 10-year restraining order[/caption]The former telephonist, from Grimsby, was also controlling and intimidating, a court heard.
She repaid his “love and support” in a “most grotesque way” through her sadistic behaviour towards him over a long period of time.
Thornton denied two offences of assaulting her husband, causing actual bodily harm, and another of controlling and coercive behaviour.
She was convicted after a trial at Grimsby Crown Court that finished on November 29.
She had been remanded in custody since well before the trial after repeatedly breaching her bail.
Judge John Thackray KC told a sentencing hearing at Hull Crown Court about Thornton “instilling fear” in her husband.
“You made his life a misery,” said Judge Thackray.
Thornton’s husband would suffer abuse and attacks “almost night after night”.
On one occasion in 2018 the police were called about an assault and a stabbing matter but he declined to take the matter further.
That incident involved Thornton stabbing him with the metal and sharp point of an electric toothbrush causing at least one puncture wound.
In February last year she repeatedly attacked her husband with a rolling pin causing serious bruising to him.
Thornton threatened to report him for matters that could have damaged him in his job.
He started making recordings of things so that he could protect himself from any malicious allegations by her.
John Dunning, mitigating, said that alcoholism had played a part in the offences being committed.
I just don’t want her to hurt anyone else.
Thornton, who had been in custody at New Hall Prison, near Wakefield, was jailed for two years and given a 10-year restraining order.
After the hearing, Thornton’s husband told GrimsbyLive: “I just don’t want her to hurt anyone else.”
He said that they had been married for 19 years and they were still married although he had started divorce proceedings.
He said that she had previously been a telephonist for BT but she had not worked for about 15 years.
He said that he did not want to comment further on his ordeal but added that he wanted the case to be made public.
The former telephonist, 45, made her husband’s life a complete misery[/caption]Chelsea player ratings: Robert Sanchez given just ONE out of ten for disastrous performance as Madueke a rare positive
CHELSEA capitulated again after scoring first, this time in a 3-1 loss away to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Three minutes is all it took for the deadlock to be broken, as City new boy Abdukodir Khusanov header was cut out by Nicolas Jackson, who squared it for Noni Madueke to tap into an empty net.
Noni Madueke tapped home Chelsea’s only goal[/caption] Pressure mounts on Robert Sanchez after another unconvincing display[/caption]A competitive first-half unfolded as big chances fell to Jackson and Josko Gvardiol, both of whom couldn’t convert from close range.
But it didn’t take long for the hosts to level the scoring before half-time, Marc Cucurella and Sanchez couldn’t clear a long ball between them and Gvardiol made up for his two big missed chances with an easy finish into a gaping goal.
A cagey second-half followed, until Erling Haaland sat down Trevoh Chalobah and curled the ball over Sanchez who was well out of position to give City a well deserved lead.
Haaland shrugged off Levi Colwill and tapped the ball onto Phil Foden who pranced past the Chelsea defence and slotted to the left of the Chelsea goalkeeper.
This is how SunSport’s Lloyd Canfield rated the players…
Robert Sanchez – 1
It was much the same as what we have seen from Robert Sanchez for Chelsea this evening.
Not commanding in his area, poor distribution, and was more out of place than a penguin in the desert when Erling Haaland lobbed him to give City the lead.
The sentiment of the travelling fans is that they are utterly sick of him.
Reece James – 6
Looked strong at the back and did his defensive duties well for the Blues for the most part.
It would’ve been nice to see him more involved in an attacking sense, prancing down the right-hand side like we saw him do against Forest in the final game of last season.
Trevoh Chalobah – 6
His long ball upfield caused havoc for Khusanov on his debut and led to the opening goal after he stepped in to stop a Man City passage of play.
Did well for large parts of the game, but Erling Haaland sat him down 1v1 before giving his side the lead in the second half.
Levi Colwill – 4
Was booked for time wasting at a goal kick after just 25 minutes, and the home crowd were onto him after that.
It was a tough evening for him against Erling Haaland and the Norwegian’s relentless strength and power got the better of him at times, particularly for City’s third.
Marc Cucurella – 4
Wasn’t strong enough to get the better of Matheus Nunes who went on to set up Josko Gvardiol for Man City’s leveller.
Also failed to offer anything going forwards for his side.
Moises Caicedo – 6
A decent display against two of the strongest dribblers in the league in Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.
Composed on the ball and a leader in this team, but looks far more comfortable with Romeo Lavia alongside him in midfield.
Enzo Fernandez (c) – 5
Tried his best to get the team going and be a leader in this side, and progressed the ball well at times too.
Not the game changing performance we saw from him against the likes of Spurs, but not bad by any means.
Noni Madueke – 7
Tapped home into an empty net with ease to open the scoring a couple of minutes into the game before troubling Man City’s left side on numerous occasions.
Had bags of defensive work to do which is not his forte, and was caused major problems on the back foot by Josko Gvardiol rampaging down City’s left-hand side.
Cole Palmer – 5
Looked a shadow of the player who had such an impact in this very fixture last season.
Should’ve done better with a pass for Nicolas Jackson in the first half to make it 2-0, and generally didn’t have the impact we have seen from him so often this season.
Jadon Sancho – 5
A few nice runs and touches, but no end product of any meaning which is something Enzo Maresca is desperate to see from his wingers.
Worked hard defensively down the left hand side, but could soon have Alejandro Garnacho breathing down his neck for a starting spot.
Nicolas Jackson – 6
Played a vital part in Noni Madueke’s opening goal after just two minutes, latching onto a loose header and calmly tapping it across for the winger to finish.
Had a chance of his own a matter of moments later after a ball across the box from Cole Palmer, but opted to look for Jadon Sancho instead – a confident striker probably scores that.
Faded as the game went on and City started to dominate before he was subbed for Christopher Nkunku.
SUBS:
Christopher Nkunku (Nicolas Jackson, 61) – 5
Was given 30 minutes to prove he’s worthy of a starting spot, or put himself in the shop window against City, and failed to do either.
A severe lack of service doesn’t help that, but he looked invisible out there nonetheless.
Pedro Neto (Jadon Sancho, 73) – 5
Pretty much a like-for-like replacement for Sancho tonight.
A few nice touches but no end product.
Malo Gusto (Reece James, 73) – 5
Not bad, but not as impressive as Reece James.
Looks a shadow of the player he was last season so far in this campaign.
