‘Very strange’ – Nick Kyrgios lets slip who BBC have replaced him with for Wimbledon and immediately fires dig at him
NICK KYRGIOS has revealed that world No108 Christopher Eubanks will replace him on the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage this year.
Kyrgios, 30, worked for the Beeb during last year’s Championships, providing a fresh voice and perspective alongside usual suspects John McEnroe and Tim Henman.

Despite generally going down well with viewers, Kyrgios has not been signed up by the BBC for this year’s tournament.
The Aussie is set to miss his third Wimbledon in a row, having struggled with persistent knee and wrist injuries.
Kyrgios’ last match at the All-England Club was the 2022 final, in which he lost to Novak Djokovic in four sets.
Eubanks’ best run at Wimbledon came in the following year, when he stunned the likes of Cameron Norrie and Stefanos Tsitsipas before losing in five sets to Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals.
On not being selected by the Beeb this year, Kyrgios told The Guardian: “It’s unfortunate but it’s probably their loss more than mine.
“I understand they’ve got Chris Eubanks but he hasn’t beaten the greatest of all time multiple times.
“When someone’s beaten Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic and has incredible insights, it’s very strange you wouldn’t want that person adding knowledge to tennis fans.”
In addition to working for the BBC at Wimbledon, Kyrgios has also appeared on Tennis Channel’s coverage of the sport in the United States.

American Eubanks, meanwhile, has been juggling his playing career with plenty of punditry.
The former world No29 has also worked on Tennis Channel, as well as ESPN and most recently TNT Sports during Roland Garros.
Kyrgios has not shut the door on working for the BBC again in future.
The former Australian Open men’s doubles champion said: “I’m sure our paths will cross again. I only ever want to add humour, some knowledge and some great atmosphere.”
Due to injuries, Kyrgios has played just six singles matches since October 2022.
The crowd entertainer last played in Miami in March, losing to Karen Khachanov in the second round.
Despite his uncertain status, having since pulled out of Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Kyrgios is determined to resume playing during the US hard court swing, culminating in a first appearance at Flushing Meadows in three years.
He added: “Yes, for sure. I’m definitely playing the US swing and I’ll take it one day at a time.”

Hit Fantasy game played by 40 million people warned it will close down in DAYS on some consoles
A FANTASY massively multiplayer online role-playing game is set to wind down on two consoles next week.
At its peak, the title reached some 40million players.

But it’s the end of the road for anyone still playing on a PS4 or Xbox One.
From June 26, Black Desert Online will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Other game studios are gradually doing the same, as they put all their energy into the latest devices and shift away from the old.
A couple of days ago, online shooter The First Descendant went dark on PS4 and Xbox One.
In Black Desert Online’s case, developers apparently made the decision due to hardware limitations that make it difficult to introduce new content smoothly.
“We understand that this news may be disappointing for our longtime Adventurers on these platforms,” makers Pearl Abyss said.
“Please know that this decision was made after careful consideration, with the goal of ensuring the future growth and evolution of Black Desert Console.
“We remain fully committed to delivering you the best possible adventures in Black Desert.”
So, if you don’t currently own a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S you’ll have to dig deep and buy a brand new console if you want to keep playing the game.
However, for those who do own one, the upgraded game will be available at no extra cost.
OTHER GAME CLOSURES COMING UP

Here's what to watch out for...
- Resident Evil ReVerse – June 29
- Madden NFL 21 – June 30
- Arizona Sunshine – July 1
- Skyworld – July 1
- Danmachi Battle Chronicle – September 29

- Madden NFL 22 – October 20

WHY DO GAMES NEED TO CLOSE DOWN?

By Jamie Harris, Assistant Technology and Science Editor at The Sun
With most games online these days, tech companies need to maintain quite hefty servers to manage everything.
It’s no cheap business to operate with millions of gamers across the world.
Naturally, people move on, leaving older games behind in the process.
There comes a point where it’s no longer viable to continue offering server access so studios shut them down.
For some games that are entirely online this can render it completely useless.
But others may have a way for you to continue playing solo still.
You should usually see a prominent notification in the game warning you with instructions on what to do – provided you’re still playing the game of course.
Noel Gallagher and Pete Doherty are ego-free and fantastic – it’s crap rockers who are c***s’, says Britpop legend
THEY were both notorious hellraisers with prickly reputations in their 20s as they embraced rock ‘n’ roll debauchery.
But, now in middle age and their reputations as great songwriters secured, Oasis’s Noel Gallagher and The Libertines’ Pete Doherty are ego-free, according to Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Cradock.

Guitarist Cradock, 55, who has also played with Paul Weller since the early 90s, is pals with both musicians and lifted the lid on what they’re really like behind the headlines.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun from his home ahead of the band’s performance at Godiva Festival, he said: ” He [Noel] plays guitar on a track on Find El Dorado actually – Paul’s covers album – so I saw him there. We text occasionally. It’s lovely. I love Noel. He’s an incredible writer. I can’t say that enough, he’s fantastic.”
Cradock will be heading to see Oasis this summer with his sons, Sunny and Cass, and feels like the newly-reformed group “deserve to be the biggest band in the world again”.
Even though Ocean Colour Scene knocked Oasis’s Be Here Now off the top of the UK album chart in 1997 with their third album Marchin’ Already, Cradock acknowledges his band didn’t have the same cultural impact as the Gallagher brothers.
“Oasis changed the whole country,” says Cradock. “The Beatles did that. I think maybe The Jam did that. Maybe the two-tone label did that. Maybe Arctic Monkeys had done that. We’re just a group from Birmingham who were around at that time.
“Oasis changed the way people dressed and they had such incredible characters, you know, Noel and Liam. Liam was just a one-off and they broke the f**king mold, I think. And, you know, good on them.”
Meanwhile Doherty, who now lives a quiet life in a small French seaside town with his wife Katia de Vidas and their daughter Billie Mae, two, recently joined Ocean Colour Scene on stage to sing backing vocals.
“He’s always lovely, Pete Doherty,” says Cradock. “I like him a lot and he seems to be a fan of the group and always has been apparently.
“He’s just lovely, and I’m pleased he’s managed to get himself straight, you know.
“It’s the people who are no good who end up being c**ts to me because they have to be, don’t they? They’ve got to have it. I don’t know, I don’t want to get into psychology or anything but most people I meet are really lovely people, really nice.”
Though he was immersed in the raucous Britpop scene that preceded Doherty’s rise to indie stardom in the early noughties, Cradock managed to come through the wild parties relatively unscathed.
He admits he was never on “Pete’s level” but says “the 90s were very hedonistic so we’ve all had our moments. But that sort of bullsh*t, when you see people who pass through all that rock and roll death, it’s all just bullsh*t man.”
When asked if the pair have big egos, Cradock delivered an emphatic no, saying: “No I don’t think there is. Most people are really lovely.”
Classic rock fans can also breathe a sigh of relief that Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is another music hero with no airs or graces.
The Whole Lotta Love singer features on Weller’s upcoming album and Cradock says he turned up ready and willing to work like a regular session musician.
“He was prepared for it, like a working musician, not a rock god,” he says.
“He was humbling and he played some beautiful harp. Then we asked if he would sing and he sang and it was just like, ‘wow’.”
Mod fan Cradock rejoiced in hearing Plant’s tales from his days before superstardom, particularly how he played a role in a notorious battle between two subcultures on the south coast.

“He told me he left the Black Country in ’64 on his hand-painted Lambretta, went down to Hastings and got involved in the mods and rockers fight and then drove back on his Lambretta.
“It blew my mind the fact that you’ve got this sort of rock icon who was originally a mod fighting the rockers.
“He was a gentleman and he’s a great singer and he’s really tuned in to what’s happening in that moment you know, a true professional, a G. He’s a f***ing G.”
Music fans can hear Plant do his thing when the record is released on July 25.

Glamorous racegoers brave soaring temperatures in sky-high head-gear and bold colours at final day of Ascot
STYLE met SPF at Ascot today as racegoers braved sky-high temperatures for the final day of the festival.
However, the hot weather certainly hadn’t prevented attendees from putting their best foot forward in the fashion stakes.

Day five saw guests arriving in a wash of rainbow brights with subtlety ditched in favour of bold and daring ensembles.
Naturally head-gear was the focal point of many of the ladies’ outfits with the woman showcasing an impressive display of hats, fascinators and headpieces.
Keen to keep their cool, many racegoers came prepared for the hot weather, armed with hand-held fans and parasols.
And of course plenty of sunglasses were seen perched on the noses of the well-heeled attendees today as squinting is hardly stylish.
The famous event attracts plenty of famous faces, including celebrities, sports personalities and of course royalty.
Each year the royal family flocks to Ascot to witness the action.
However, on Thursday the Princess of Wales pulled out of Royal Ascot at the last minute as she continues her cancer recovery.
It is understood that Kate, 43, was “disappointed” that she wasn’t going but “has to find the right balance” on returning to full time duty.
She attended Trooping the Colour and Order of the Garter in recent days plus a visit to V&A East Storehouse last week.
Known as the pinnacle of British horse racing, Royal Ascot is not just about the thrilling sport but also a celebration of style, tradition, and culinary indulgence.
Each year, this iconic event attracts over 250,000 visitors across five days, offering an unforgettable experience steeped in history and glamour.
Dress to Impress
Fashion takes centre stage at Royal Ascot, with each enclosure offering its unique sartorial expectations.
The prestigious Royal Enclosure demands the highest level of formality.
Gentlemen are required to don morning suits complete with top hats, while ladies must adhere to a refined dress code: dresses or skirts that fall just above the knee or longer, straps of at least one inch in width, and, of course, a statement hat is non-negotiable.
For those in the Queen Anne Enclosure, the dress code is still elegant but slightly more relaxed, allowing for a touch of personal flair.
Meanwhile, the Windsor Enclosure is the most informal of the three.
Although there’s no strict dress code here, smart attire is encouraged to maintain the event’s sophisticated atmosphere.
A Historic Beginning
Royal Ascot has a fascinating history that dates back to 1711.

It all began when Queen Anne, during a ride from Windsor Castle, came across a piece of land she thought was perfect for horse racing, describing it as “ideal for horses to gallop at full stretch.”
This marked the birth of Ascot Racecourse.
The first Royal Meeting was held in 1768, and over the years, it has grown into Britain’s most iconic racing event, blending centuries-old tradition with the excitement and glamour of the modern day.
The Daily Schedule
Each day at Royal Ascot is meticulously planned to ensure a seamless blend of racing and pageantry.
Gates open at 10:30am, with the much-anticipated royal procession taking place at 2pm, a moment that sets the tone for the day’s festivities.
Racing enthusiasts can look forward to seven nail-biting races, starting at 2:30pm and concluding at 6:10pm.
Beyond the Racing: A Feast for the Senses
Royal Ascot is not just a sporting event; it’s a feast for the senses. Culinary excellence is a hallmark of the occasion, with 350 chefs crafting an array of exquisite dishes.

The Queen Anne Enclosure, in particular, offers a gastronomic treat at the 1768 Grill, where the renowned Argentinian restaurant Gaucho serves up mouthwatering steaks.
As for beverages, the statistics are as impressive as the event itself.
An estimated 65,000 bottles of Champagne and 100,000 bottles of wine are consumed, ensuring the celebrations flow as freely as the bubbly.
A Grand Affair
The scale of Royal Ascot is nothing short of extraordinary. In 2023, the event saw approximately 400 helicopters and 1,000 luxury cars ferrying guests to the racecourse.
On average, 60,000 attendees graced the grounds each day, making it a true highlight of Britain’s social calendar.

Love Island fans ‘work out’ why Tommy kisses Shakira and Emily in dramatic spin the bottle game
LOVE Island fans reckon they have Tommy Bradley’s game plan sussed after he is seen snogging Shakira Khan and newbie Emily Moran.
Viewers of the ITV2 series were left open-mouthed when the Londoner, 22 – who has been strong with partner Megan Forte Clarke, 24, since day one – locked lips with the duo in a new show challenge.

In the teaser clip’s edit which previewed Sunday’s episode, it seemed as though the Islanders were asked to snog who they’d most like to be coupled up with.
Yet everything kicked off and heated up between the singles as a result.
Playing the iconic game of Spin the Bottle, the Islanders could be seen donning their bikinis and Speedos as they took turns in spinning the giant bottle.
In the brief clip, it was clear that Tommy snogged Welsh beauty Emily as Irish beauty Megan looked on in horror.
Tommy is coupled with Megan, but now it looks like there might be tension between the two.
He then sensationally smooched Shakira as well.
The full extent of the drama will play out on Sunday’s episode, yet fans have already suspected they know the catty reason Tommy picked the duo to snog.
They claim he chose Emily as her show partner Conor pulled Megan for a chat.
One fan took to Reddit to quiz: “Is that Emily kissing Tommy?”
Another replied: “Low key ridiculous to do it just bc Conor pulled Megan for a chat.”
Another mused: “I think he [Tommy] may have chosen Emily, because Conor pulled Megan for a chat. Could be the reverse of course.
“But I wonder if Harry chose Shakira and Shakira picked Tommy. Then again, would Harry play it safe with his choice and choose Yasmin.
“What a tangled web. Is it Sunday yet?”

In a fresh twist for 2025’s opening episode, the girls picked their partners based on blind dating profiles, with no idea what the boys looked like.
Rushing to comment on the potential new romances at the time, viewers insisted that Megan and Tommy are the only couple who are actually into each other.
One said: “I think only Megan and Tommy may actually make sense.”
Someone else commented: “The only couple vibing are Tommy and Megan.”
Ahead of his villa debut north London lad Tommy revealed the awkward chat he had with his mum about having sex on the show.
He told The Sun and other press: “I don’t really know if I’ll have sex in the villa.
“My mum has actually brought it up to me. She was like, ‘Oh my God, have you thought about it – like, if you do have sex with someone in the villa I’m going to be watching.’
“She said, ‘I don’t know if I can watch.’ So I don’t really know.”

Royal Ascot punters win ‘life-changing’ sum from £1 stake after run of freak results ‘not seen in years’
SEVERAL Royal Ascot punters were celebrating winning ‘life-changing’ sums from a £1 stake – after a run of freak results not seen in years.
Those who took on and conquered the Tote Placepot on Friday were duly rewarded with a colossal payout.

If you managed to pick a horse to place in the first six races and stuck a quid on it, you’d have won £26,424.30.
Bookies were laughing as huge outsiders such as 33-1 Cercene won the Coronation Stakes.
While 25-1 roughie Time For Sandals nabbed the Commonwealth Cup ahead of the likes of the well-fancied Shadow Of Light, Jonquil and Babouche.
Favourite backers were licking their wounds after getting one over the layers on Thursday.
But it was definitely 1-0 to the bookies on day four after just two favourites – Ethical Diamond and Amiloc – won.
There were just 18.15 winning units on the Placepot.
And the £26,000 dividend was one of the biggest seen in years.
However, the benchmark was set in 2022 when, on one day there, the dividend was £79,125.50 to a £1 stake.
Kev Matthews, Head of Racing at Tote, said: “Days like this are what the Tote Placepot is all about – a small stake can lead to a life-changing return.
“Friday’s dividend of over £26,000 is a perfect example.
“We saw plenty of favourites turned over and a real mix of results, which gave Placepot players a rollercoaster ride all the way through to the final leg.
“Huge congratulations to those who landed it.”
The Placepot, which requires punters to pick a placed horse in each of the first six races, remains one of the most popular bets in British racing.
With tens of thousands playing every day at Royal Ascot, today’s results demonstrate the unique excitement and potential rewards of pool betting.

The Spanish love these three drinks to keep them cool in summer – here’s how to find them in the UK
WHILE the UK is set to hit 30C this week, us Brits are still not as good at coping with hot weather as Spaniards.
And when it comes to drinks, Sangria might seem as Spanish as a siesta when it comes to beating the heat,

But there are three drinks that are little known here that Spaniards favour to keep hydrated when the sun is out.
The most family-friendly of the three is the non-alcoholic horchata de chufa, which has a creamy consistency like a milkshake, but is made from chufas or tiger nuts, which are a root.
It’s packed with iron, potassium and antioxidants and often flavoured with cinnamon or lemon.
I first encountered it when I visited relatives living in Alboraya, on the outskirts of Valencia, where tiger nuts are grown in the fields and where the most popular horchata parlours, known as horchateria, are based.
My grandma took one mouthful and declared that it was a drink that could send you mad, so I think it’s fair to say that it might be a bit of an acquired taste.
But for many Valencians, it’s up there with paella as giving a little taste of their city.
A lovely spot to enjoy it is at the Mercat Colon near the Turia, which is a gorgeous 100-year-old art nouveau market hall in the city centre, renovated and now used to house bars and shops.
Orxata Daniel, one of the most popular horchaterias, has a base there so you don’t need to catch the metro out of the city centre if you want to try the drink the Spanish go mad for.
You can also buy it pre-bottled in the UK now (£14.95 for two on Amazon) although it’s not a patch on the freshly made drink.
If you’re after a thirst-quencher that includes something a bit stronger, then Agua de Valencia is a potent cocktail that’s fairly easy to knock up at home, with ingredients easily bought at supermarkets here.
It’s another drink that uses what the Valencians find in abundance in their lands, but this time the key ingredient is orange juice. Oh, and cava, gin and vodka, of course.
When I first tried this delicious cocktail on a bar crawl through the bohemian district of Rusafa, next to the main city train station, I had no idea quite how much booze it contained, thanks to the fresh orange juice used as a mixer.
Safe to say, I certainly discovered just how alcoholic it was when it came to the next day’s hangover.
I even had it as a signature drink at my hen do as it’s a real crowd-pleaser and one that suits most people’s taste buds, if not their tolerance of alcohol!
To find it in the UK, restaurants like Bar + Block or Iberica, which have a number of eateries across the country.

One drink that really is a taste of summer for Spaniards across the country is tinto de verano.
In the same way that we might enjoy a white wine spritzer on a sunny day, this is their equivalent, but with red wine.
It’s often made with either gaseosa soda or lemonade and the name translated means summer red wine.
This is probably the closest to the sangria that we Brits know and love when we head abroad, but a little bit less alcoholic and so better for keeping hydrated in the heat without risking a hangover.
Most Spanish restaurants will serve it, including popular ones like Al-Andalus Tapas Bar in Oxford or The Ginger Pig in London.
Hopefully the warm weather is here to stay for a while now it’s finally arrived, so you can’t really go wrong with trying out Spain’s top tipples to find your favourite.
It’s a little taste of the Med but without even leaving your own back garden.
In the mean time, we’ve found the cheapest places for an Aperol Spritz in Europe.
