A ONE-legged amputee cricketer says he has lost his disability benefits after being filmed playing for his local club.
Shaun Rigby, 37, said the Department for Work and Pensions claimed it showed he “wasn’t disabled enough”.

The sheet metal worker, who lost his right leg in a tractor accident when he was two, has played cricket since the age of seven and has represented England’s disabled team.
He regularly played for Allscott Heath in Shropshire with the aid of a runner — taking extra medication to cope with pain.
But he came under investigation by the DWP — leading to his Personal Independence Payment benefits he has received since 2016 being axed and his mobility car being withdrawn.
Shaun said: “I play cricket — it doesn’t mean my leg has suddenly grown back.”
The dad of four, of Telford, Shrops, added: “They are basically saying I am mobile enough and accusing me of lying on the application.
“But when I ticked I couldn’t walk without being in pain, I wasn’t lying, I just carry on through the pain.”
He has 30 days to appeal and is now £500 worse off a month.
Shaun added: “It is so unfair just because I play cricket.
” Are disabled people not allowed to take part in sport?
“Everyone’s telling me to appeal but it has all taken so much out of me, I don’t think I can face it.”
The DWP declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.

KATE Moss’s stunning daughter Lila was a chip off the old block as she went braless at Paris Fashion Week.
The 22-year-old model replicated her catwalk queen mum’s penchant for see-through tops as she attended the Saint Laurent menswear show in the French capital.

BackGridThe model, 22, ditched her bra in a see-through top[/caption]
She was pictured leaving her hotel in a long-sleeved sheer top and ruffled pinkmini skirt that morphed into a flowing train.
Tying the pieces together was a simple leather belt fastened at her navel.
The blonde beauty gave the camera a sultry stare as she made her way into the sunshine in a pair of teetering heels.
Mum Kate, 51, has been photographed many times over the years in see-through outfits.
One of the most recent was at the Saint Laurent Womenswear Fall/Winter show in Paris back in March.
On that occasion she ditched her bra in a floaty polka dot blouse.
Last month Lila, whose dad is media mogul Jefferson Hack, 52, admitted that she’ll be raiding her supermodel mum’s wardrobe to find outfits to wear at Glastonbury Festival.
Nineties hellraiser Kate has mellowed after decades of wild parties and doesn’t attend the festival as regularly as she used to.
She was last seen at Glastonbury back in 2023 when she was pictured watching Primal Scream from the side of the Pyramid Stage.
Lila said: “I’ll find something in my mum’s wardrobe — borrowing a T-shirt — then I’ll see something, and say, ‘Wait, can I borrow that for Glastonbury?’ months in advance.”
Kate’s garments often proved a fashion talking point at the festival — including wearing a waistcoat and wellies combination in the mud in 2005.
Lila acknowledged that she also puts lots of thought and care into the attire she will be taking to Somerset.
She added: “I’ll go through my whole closet of fun things that I wouldn’t usually wear, and I’ll put stuff together.
“At Glastonbury I have a lot of fun because there’s that British energy and it’s exciting and it’s just more people I know.”
Opening up about heading to the event, which starts tomorrow, Lila told Vogue Australia: “Glastonbury is all about the crowds, there’s nothing like it so I’m always out front.
“I’ve actually never experienced a super-muddy Glastonbury.
“I’m praying I don’t this year because it seems like it adds a lot of stress.”
She said: “I’m really excited for Neil Young this year.
“It’s a very good line-up.
“One of my friend’s boyfriends is in Inhaler and they’re playing, so that’s exciting. Love Fontaines DC, too.
“They’re great.”

AN AMERICAN B-2 stealth bomber pilot has revealed what it’s like inside the world’s most inconspicuous jet.

David Bohrer/ Wikimedia CommonsThe cockpit is very small and can barely accommodate three people[/caption]
pbs.orgThe aircrafts have long been riddled in mystery[/caption]
But despite their military prowess, very little is known about the powerful jets.
One pilot, Neal, who was part of a small crew sent to Afghanistan after 9/11, has lifted the lid on what it’s really like inside the $2 million aircraft.
According to Neal the planes are very small and can barely accommodate three people.
And with such long journeys, getting a good night’s sleep is rarely on the cards.
Pilots are often given a stimulant by flight surgeons to help stay awake, known informally as a “go pill”, he said.
But despite the cramped space, the planes come equipped with a microwave and cooler “filled with snacks” to ensure crew are fed and alert during long trips.
A toilet can also be found onboard as well as a “cot” where pilots take it in turns to have a lie down.
Neal told Business Insider: “When the ladder comes up and you enter the cockpit, there is a flat spot on the floor that is about a little over 6 feet long.
“And so I think over the two days that I was in that little space, I spent about five hours in that cot total.”
“You’re young, and you’re doing something that you’re trained to do, and there’s a bit of excitement and a lot of adrenaline.”
This comes as Operation Midnightsaw the US blitz three of Iran’s key nuclear facilities in an attack Trump has called a “spectacular success”.
The “prime” target was Iran’s mountain-fortress nuclear site Fordow, buried beneath 300ft of rock and steel, which only the US had the firepower to eliminate.
The uranium enrichment plant was pounded by an unprecedented blitz of 14 30,000lb bunker-buster bombs – called GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOP).
They were dropped from six B-2 bombers flying high in the atmosphere for 37 hours all the way from Missouri.
Also hit were the nuclear plants at Natanz and Isfahan, which Israel had already targeted with its own missiles.
The aircraft took off from the Whiteman Air Force Base outside Kansas City, Missouri – the home of the B-2 fleet.
Satellite imagery of the destroyed bases has since revealed the extent of the damage.
Two clusters of at least six holes are seen at the Fordow nuclear site, where the massive 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs were dropped.
Bombs of this kind are believed to be able to penetrate about 200 feet below the surface before exploding.
Following the bombing, Sir Keir Starmer reinstated his commitment to making Iran nuke-free.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Operation Midnight Hammer was “an incredible and overwhelming success” that took months and weeks of planning.
He added that Trump has been clear that “any retaliation by Iran” against the US would be “met with force far greater” than what was seen on Saturday night.
Hegseth said: “Iran would be smart to heed those words. He’s said it before, and he means it.”

The Defence Secretary went on to praise the US leader, calling it “bold and brilliant, showing the world that American deterrence is back”.
He urged: “When this President speaks, the world should listen.”
Fears loom that the conflict could spiral into a world war, with Putin puppet Dmitry Medvedev making a veiled threat to supply Iran with nuclear weapons.
He said: “A number of countries are ready to supply Iran directly with their nuclear weapons.”
After declaring the US strikes as being a success, Trump warned that further action could be taken if Tehran doesn’t agree to an adequate peace deal.

JEREMY Clarkson is rightly proud of the huge success of Clarkson’s Farm, but even he could not have seen its latest accolade coming.

And that wasn’t the only upset at the Television and Radio Industries Club’s celebration of telly, radio and online shows, hosted by Dan Walker at London’s Grosvenor Hotel.
Bradley Walsh beat serial winners Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond and Martin Lewis to TV Personality.
GB News Breakfast scooped the News category over Good Morning Britain, ITV and BBC’s evening news, and also won best News Presenter for Charlie Peters over Fiona Bruce, Susanna Reid and host Dan.
‘Funny memes’
This Morning star Sam Thompson was thrilled to pick up the Podcast honour with pal Pete Wicks for Staying Relevant after a number of nominations since it began.
A grinning Sam said: “We’ve never won one and we turn up every time.
“It always goes to Peter Crouch, who doesn’t even turn up!”
A win also came as a surprise to the cast of Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off, who told me they failed to write an acceptance speech as they didn’t expect to take home the Best Food gong ahead of BBC favourite MasterChef.
Christiaan de Vries, who was a finalist last year, joked: “I should’ve used ChatGPT! Bake Off is such a legacy, isn’t it?”
Last year’s winner Georgie Grasso added: “It’s such a great show and everyone works so hard, so an award is the icing on the cake.”

PICKING a name for your little one can feel like an impossible task during pregnancy.
You want to make sure you choose something fairly unique, but not so out there that your child gets picked on.
GettyThe ‘normal’ baby names people hate and legally change have been revealed[/caption]
Some people opt to name their baby after a family member, whilst others take inspiration from a favourite book, celebrity or film character.
And your kid is stuck with this decision for life, so it’s important you get it right.
Unless, that is, they decide they hate the name so much that they legally change it when they hit adulthood.
New analysis of more than 14,000 name changes through Deed Poll has revealed the first names Brits have fallen out of love with – and the new ones they are embracing.
It turns out men named James are most likely to seek a rebrand, with more guys ditching this name than any other in the past five years.
Elizabeth is the UK’s second most commonly changed given name, with Michael, Susan, and Andrew following closely behind.
The analysis, which is the largest study of Deed Poll data of all time, was conducted by name label manufacturer mynametags.com.
It shows that Britain’s most changed names are surprisingly all traditional ones, with Rebecca, Thomas, Muhammad, and David also featuring in the top 10 most changed names.
By contrast, there is a rise in Brits opting for abbreviated versions of classic names.
Alex takes the top spot as the most adopted name since 2020, while Charlie, Ellie, and Jay also feature in the top 10.
“We’ve been analysing baby name trends for over 20 years, tracking how they emerge and evolve,” says Lars B. Andersen, Managing Director at mynametags.com.
“Our analysis of Deed Poll data shows the other side of the coin, the names that people are actively changing.
“What’s particularly striking is the shift towards abbreviated names, such as Alex, Charlie, and Ellie. This mirrors a broader societal trend we’re seeing in baby naming.
“Whilst traditional names still have their place, parents are increasingly opting for shorter, more contemporary versions of classic names for their newborns, prioritising ease and perhaps a touch of individuality.

“It seems that whether Brits are welcoming a new life or embracing a new chapter, the appeal of a concise and current name is a powerful force across generations.”
The name controversy comes after a new study revealed the monikers that are quickly becoming favourites and topping the 2025 name charts already.
The research was put together using internal data from My 1st Years, the UK’s leading personalised baby gift brand, and revealed that Luca, Teddy and Jude are some of the most popular of the year.
According to the study, personalised gift orders using the name Luca are up a whopping 21 per cent,
“When it comes to real-time baby name trends, gift sales often beat the birth certificate,” Molly Ejdowski, spokesperson at My 1st Years, said.
“Luca’s rise is especially interesting, it’s stylish, pan-European, and growing fast.”
On the girl front, Isla remains one of the favourites.
News Group Newspapers LtdDani Dyer is set to join Celebrity SAS to show fans a tougher side of herself[/caption]
GettyA pal said that while many see dad Danny as the ‘hardman’ of the Dyer clan, they’ll be surprised when seeing what Dani is capable of[/caption]
Dani recently married West Ham’s Jarrod BowenInstagram
A source added: “Dani may be small in stature but she is incredibly tough.
“Any woman who can juggle working while being a mum to three children under four is impressive — and that’s the woman Dani’s friends and family see on a daily basis.
“Celebrity SAS is a really difficult show, both mentally and physically.
“It will push her to her limits but she can’t wait to get started.
“If people thought her dad Danny was the hardman of the family, wait until they see what Dani’s capable of.”
The 28-year-old is being lined up to start filming the gruelling Channel 4 show alongside fellow Love Island star Gabby Allen.
They will follow in the footsteps of last year’s celebs including Paul Gascoigne’s model daughter Bianca and TV presenter Cherry Healey.
This year’s series will be filmed in Marrakech, Morocco, with competitors expected to fly out soon.
Dani is also hotly tipped to appear on Strictly. The Sun On Sunday revealed she had signed a pre-contract, with her team in the process of sealing a deal.
It means she could be on Channel 4 and the BBC at the same time this autumn — like Pete Wicks last year.
