AN Austrian football club plans to rock their league – after signing the son of music legend Phil Collins.
The former Genesis drummer and singer has five children including Matthew, whose mum is Collins’ Swiss ex-wife Oriane Cevey.

The 20-year-old has begun a football career, and has played for German club Hannover‘s youth team.
Midfielder Matthew is currently with Austrians WSG Tirol, but has only played in the fourth tier for their amateur side.
But second-division Austria Salzburg have handed Collins Jr a contract after he impressed on trial.
Salzburg coach Christian Schaider said: “Matthew has already trained with our first team.
“He has made a good impression.”
Club chairman Claus Salzmann added: “We are glad to be able to bring in a player like him.
“Although we haven’t yet drawn up a fixed contract for him, it should all be done quickly.”
Dad Phil, 74, whose hits include Against All Odds, has a home in Switzerland.

He reportedly went to watch Matthew play recently.
Coach Schaider will no doubt ask Collins to Turn It On Again following an impressive display – and ask him to be strong In The Air Tonight before midweek matches.
And Salzburg fans could develop a Groovy Kind Of Love for Matthew – providing he doesn’t channel his father’s song I Missed Again.
The city rivals of Red Bull Salzburg have just won promotion to the second division.
They begin their campaign in late July with an Austrian Cup tie against FC Oedt.
Schaider added: “We don’t have a lot of time.
“We have to make use of every training session to prepare for the second division.”

CRYSTAL PALACE could be cleared to play their first European campaign this week – as a direct consequence of Lyon’s shock relegation in France.
Uefa competitions chiefs will meet in Nyon on Friday to make a final decision on Palace’s eligibility to play in the Europa League.
GettyCrystal Palace are hoping to play in the Europa League after winning the FA Cup[/caption]
GettyLyon were relegated to the second tier by French football authorities[/caption]
Lyon are part of the Eagle Football group owned by US businessman John Textor, who had a 44.9 per cent stake in Palace despite being kept at arms length by Steve Parish and Americans Josh Harris and Dave Blitzer.
Despite his limited role at Selhurst Park, Uefa were concerned that Textor’s ownership stake breached those regulations.
However, the decision by the French authorities – Lyon announced they would appeal – is understood to be likely to ease Palace’s path.
Assuming the French Football Federation now withdraws its nomination of Lyon – all teams competing in Europe must be put forward officially by their national association – Nyon insiders expect the Club Financial Control Body will now rule in Palace’s favour.
A decision could come immediately after the meeting although Eagles fans may have to wait until the start of next week before confirmation as the Palace situation is among a number of decisions that are on the agenda.

It is understood that the official Uefa deadline for entry will be next week, following the eligibility rulings by the panel.
But if Lyon were to win their appeal after being excluded from the official entry list, Nyon chiefs anticipate they are likely to apply to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to be reinstated.
That would probably be at the expense of Strasbourg, part of the BlueCo group which owns Chelsea and who finished seventh in Ligue 1 and are expected to be nominated in Lyon’s place.
However, insiders anticipate that Palace would not be retrospectively prohibited from competing after the CFCB has cleared their entry.
Palace, though, did not make any changes to the ownership structure ahead of the Uefa deadline for next season – a situation complicated by Blitzer’s ownership of Danish side Brondby, who qualified for the Conference League.
That sale still has to be cleared by the Premier League, although it is not expected to be held up.
Lyon cited that deal as part of their official response to relegation – even if there was a danger that the agreement had been signed too late to allay Uefa’s concerns about Textor’s Palace role.
The club said: “Thanks to… the sale of Crystal Palace, our cash position has improved significantly, and we have more than sufficient resources for the 2025/26 season.
“With so much cash liquidity demonstrated, and sporting success which has earned European competition in two consecutive years, we sincerely do not understand how one administrative decision could relegate such a great French club.”

InstagramFans were in awe of Helen’s new snaps[/caption]
Donning green lingerie and suspenders, Helen looked more glamorous than ever as she showed off her incredible body in Nikki Intimates Lingerie.
The stylish mum wore her blonde locks in bouncy blow-dried curls and showed off a very glamorous makeup look.
The shoot took place at a beautiful country home, and the start of the video saw Helen strutting her stuff across a gravel driveway in the bold lingerie set.
“Step into summer with my @nikkiintimates lingerie collection Im sooo proud of this gorgeous range that truly embodies the essence of summer,” the former Corrie star penned.
She wore several different sets in the video, all displaying her beautiful curves and Helen could be seen laying across a picnic blanket, posing against the building and walking outside in the underwear sets.
Fans were in awe, as one person wrote: “Amazing body confidence, well done you is that Arley Hall in the background, love that place ”
A second penned: “Absolute knockout Helen, you look insane,” and a third echoed: “Stunning, such a real woman and looks incredible.”
The star posted a video of herself getting ready to go out to the theatre, and stripped out of her pyjamas to her underwear.
She captioned her clip: “Happy Friday Girls loving this weather GRWM.”
But while many were quick to comment on Helen’s stunning figure, Helen herself said she “lacked confidence.”
“My weight all kind of depends on my love life and how stressed I am,” the former Corrie star said, while showing off her stunning blow-dried hair and glam makeup look.
Standing in a blue bra, Helen continued to say how nice it was to be asked to help with the edit of the bra she was wearing.
“Even though sometimes you don’t feel so confident or toned, just go for it,” Helen said, adding: “Even though I’ve got cellulite and my body isn’t as toned as it used to be, I just thought ‘you know what Helen go for it,’ you only live once.”
Helen went on to show off the lingerie set, taking a step back from the camera and revealing her enviable physique.
The video comes after the former Coronation Street actress jetted to the White Isle with pals to enjoy a day of partying at Wayne Lineker‘s famed O Beach Ibiza club.

A MILLIONAIRE Aidan O’Brien horse has been labelled a ‘sorry sight’ – with the Classic-winning superstar reduced to being just a pacemaker at massive odds.
GettyRyan Moore was awesome on Continuous in the St Leger in 2023 – but less than two years on his role in races has been reduced to making the run at massive odds[/caption]
Classic winner Continuous, seen here at the back in the purple and white silks, was reduced to a supporting role in the Coronation Cup, won by stablemate Jan Brueghel
Ridden by Ryan Moore and watched by King Charles in the crowd, Continuous surged home by just under three lengths to claim the £421,000 first-place prize.
He then finished a very creditable fifth in the Arc de Triomphe on his next run, going down just over three lengths to unbeaten superstar Ace Impact.
There was another Group 3 win for Continuous in the 2024 season but, on his most recent three starts, he has been sent off 50-1, 66-1 and 100-1.
Continuous was never ridden to seriously contend the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last month.
Wayne Lordan rousted him along to the front at a mad pace after he was slowly away – paving the way for eventual winner and stablemate Los Angeles.
Continuous was again sent on to do all the running under Derby hero Lordan in the Coronation Cup at Epsom earlier this month.
He eventually finished fourth, losing two places in the final furlong, in a race won by stablemate Jan Brueghel.
Continuous hit triple-digit odds for his most recent run in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last week.
Los Angeles was sent off 13-8 fav for that blockbuster Group 1 but, for once, O’Brien, Moore and the Coolmore team got their tactics wrong.
Both Ballydoyle horses flopped in the race won by John & Thady Gosden’s 7-1 Ombudsman.
But while he will be back with the aim of winning the Arc in October, Continuous’ odds for upcoming contests suggest victory of any kind would be a miracle, despite the five-year-old gelding’s multiple entries.
He is in the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket’s July meeting in a fortnight’s time but is 20-1 for that.
He could run nine days later in the Curragh Cup – and does have an entry in the King George at Ascot but is 100-1 for that the following week.
While O’Brien did include him in the Goodwood Cup at the end of July he is also 100-1 there and would surely be used as a pacemaker again for Gold Cup second and 7-4 ante-post favourite Illinois.
One punter who watched Continuous at Ascot wrote on X: “Something very disappointing seeing a horse like Continuous being used as a pacemaker this season!
“With his pedigree and fine race record he really could have been a fine horse to stand at stud. Crazy what he’s being used for nowadays.”
Respected racing journalist Alistair Jones was another to notice the tactics and in the Racing Post wrote how Continuous was now a ‘sorry sight’ on the racecourse.
He wrote: “He has sacrificed his last three races for the benefit of others in the yard and it was a sorry sight to see such a talented individual trail home tailed off in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes.”

A huge probe was launched into Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull after a report of “concern for care of the deceased”.
Robert Bush was charged following a huge investigation into his funeral homePAPolice recovered human ashes and found 35 bodies that had been ‘left to rot’[/caption]
Robert Bush, 47, was charged with 63 offences in total – including 30 counts of preventing an unlawful and decent burial.
This relates to bodies recovered from the premises between April 23, 2023, and March 6, 2024.
He is also accused of 30 counts of fraud by false representation in relation to the “deceased” removed from the home.
The fraud charge related to human ashes between August 1, 2017, and March 6 last year involving 50 victims.
Bush appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Court today where he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
The names of the 30 alleged victims were read to the court as some of their families watched via video-link.
Bush was bailed on the condition he attend Bridlington Police Station every day from Monday to Friday.
He will next appear at Hull Crown Court on August 13.
Bush is also charged with theft from 12 charities; the Salvation Army, Macmillan Cancer Support, CHIEF, the Dogs Trust, Dove House, Help for Heroes, Maister Lodge, Oakwood Dog Rescue, RNLI, Sailors Children’s Charity, WISHH and Hull Fishing Heritage Charity.
He has also been charged with one count of fraud by false representation in relation to human ashes between August 2017 and March 2024, and one count of fraudulent trading in relation to funeral plans between May 2012 and March 2024.
Humberside Police previously said the charges came after a “complex, protracted and highly sensitive” 10-month investigation.
A month after the probe was launched in March last year, officers received more than 2,000 calls from families concerned about their loved ones’ ashes.
The force confirmed it was impossible to identify any of the human ashes using DNA profiles.
Deputy Chief Constable Dave Marshall confirmed there were 254 victims in total, of which 172 had been affected by fraudulent trading of funeral plans between May 23, 2012, and March 6, 2024.
He said: “We have updated the families of the 35 deceased with this development and we have made initial contact with additional victims who have been affected by the investigation and we will be personally in touch with them in the coming days.
“As the investigation now moves into the courts and judicial process, I would please ask people to refrain from any speculation or commenting that could prejudice or jeopardise the case, and to allow those affected to get the answers they desperately need and rightly deserve.
“My sincerest thanks go out to those affected for their patience and understanding.
“They have always been the priority and at the very heart of the entire investigation and this will remain, and we would please ask their privacy is continued to be respected.”

A ROAD in the heart of York gave way to a sinkhole and exposed a vital part of the city’s past.
Archaeologists have found the remains of one of England’s largest medieval hospitals buried beneath a bustling street.
GettyA sinkhole opened up in the road outside the 18th-century York Theatre Royal[/caption]
YouTube/York City CouncilBuried beneath the road, archaeologists uncovered remains of the 11th-century St Leonard’s Hospital[/caption]
The remains – dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries – are thought to belong to St Leonard’s Hospital.
The huge healthcare facility is said to have once stretched from the Museum Gardens to the Theatre Royal site.
Though built shortly after the Norman Conquest in the late 11th century, the site sits on top of even older Roman remains – at a time when York was a major Roman city and military base called Eboracum.
St Leonard’s Hospital played a vital role in the community of medieval York – not only as a healthcare centre but also as a charitable institution.
It ran an orphanage and provided food for prisoners at York Castle.
The hospital was destroyed during the 16th-century English Reformation, when Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church.
This brought an end to countless religious institutions across England.
The site then became home to the Royal Mint, earning the name Mint Yard.
It later transformed into the Georgian street that stands there today.
Incredibly, the hospital was excavated by chance earlier this month during emergency repairs to the road on St Leonard’s Place.
City of York Council officials said the sinkhole in the road outside the 18th-century theatre was made safe by contractors before archaeologists were called in.
Structural and stone masonry remains were unearthed by a team of archaeologists.
While the discovery has temporarily halted roadworks, city officials expect repairs to resume shortly.
The archaeological team has carefully documented every find, following the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists’ standards.
Further analysis of the remains is being conducted.
The settlements are thought to have been abandoned after the Black Death – the bubonic plague that swept through the UK between 1348 and 1350, killing an estimated 35 to 40 percent of the population.
Archaeologists made the discoveries during work to convert 5.5 miles of road between Easton and North Tuddenham into a dual carriageway.
Headland Archaeology also found 31kg of pottery.

The Athletic claim the Gunners have tabled an offer worth £9.3m for the 31-year-old.

Arsenal are looking at reinforcements in midfield after the exit of Jorginho on a free transfer to Flamengo.
While they are yet to reach an agreement with Thomas Partey over a new deal, with the Ghanaian’s current terms expiring next week.
As things stand, Partey will leave the Emirates on the expiration of his contract.
Norgaard played 34 times in the Premier League for Brentford last season, scoring five goals and registering four assists.
The Danish international has been a crucial part of the Bees setup since his arrival from Fiorentina in 2019.
Arsenal are hoping to add another midfielder in the coming days and weeks too.
Mikel Arteta and Co are on the brink of completing the signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Zubimendi, 26, was in London last week to finalise the deal and is expected to sign the dotted line and be announced as an Arsenal player in July.
Sociedad are thought to prefer the deal to go through next month for financial reasons.
Reports suggest Arsenal will pay slightly more than the Spaniard’s £51m release clause in order to split the cost over a number of instalments.
