Ferne McCann cruelly mum-shamed for breastfeeding her two-year-old daughter & others also spot ‘massive choking hazard’

FERNE McCann has been cruelly mum-shamed for breastfeeding her two-year-old daughter.

Not only this, but others also spotted a “massive choking hazard” as the Dancing On Ice and TOWIE star shared what her daughter eats on a typical day.

Posting on social media, alongside a clip of her breastfeeding Finty, who she shares with her fiancé Lorri Haines and was born in July 2023, the 34-year-old shared: “So we always start our day off with some breast milk.”

Following this, Ferne explained: “Then she had a breakfast bagel with cheese and egg.

“She didn’t wanna sit in her chair today, so here she is, lady of leisure, just chilling, watching TV.

“I’m gonna be honest, we don’t usually make a habit of her sitting on the sofa, but you know, sometimes you just wanna get them to eat and this was what happened this morning.”

Later in the morning, Ferne shared: “So she’s having a decaf tea, then she had a little breakfast bar.”

As Finty strolled around their home, Ferne recognised: “She had a banana, just waltzing around – she shoved the whole thing in her mouth and then asked for more more.”

For Finty’s lunch, Ferne served up her “favourite” dish – a macaroni cheese made with broccoli, alongside a side of hummus and carrots and cucumber.

To this, Ferne acknowledged: “She wasn’t really into the little baby crudite, she prefers red pepper.

“More interested in just licking off the hummus, although she did prefer the cucumber.

“She absolutely smashed all of the broccoli cheesy mac.”

After lunch, for snacks, Finty tucked into some melon and blueberries, and then for dinner, Ferne made sweet and sour chicken with red pepper, chunky onions and cashew nuts.

Ferne then added: “Served it with rice and then she had grapes to accompany and she absolutely loved it.

“And then more berries al fresco with her sister [Sunday] to finish off the day.”

The star later wrote: “Also she has another breastfeed before bed but forgot to film.”

Social media users react

Ferne’s TikTok clip has clearly left many open-mouthed as it was shared just two days ago but has quickly racked up 158,400 views, 4,476 likes and 96 comments.

But trolls were out in full force and questioned Ferne’s decision to continue breastfeeding her daughter.

Please watch your children while they eat and get them to sit down – massive choking hazard to let them walk around

TikTok user

One person said: “Two is far too old to be breastfeeding, this is more a mum not wanting to let go.”

To this, someone else replied and claimed: “Agree! It’s strange.”

Different parenting styles explained

There are four recognised styles of parenting explained below:

Authoritarian Parenting

What some might describe as “regimental” or “strict” parenting.

Parents with this style focus on strict rules, obedience, and discipline.

Authoritarian parents take over the decision-making power, rarely giving children any input in the matter.

When it comes to rules, you believe it’s “my way or the highway”.

Permissive Parenting

Often referred to as “soft parenting” or “yes mums/dads”.

Permissive parents are lenient, only stepping in when there’s a serious problem.

They’re quite forgiving and they adopt an attitude of “kids will be kids”.

Oftentimes they act more like friends than authoritative figures.

Authoritative Parenting

Authoritative parents provide their children with rules and boundaries, but they also give them the freedom to make decisions.

With an authoritative parenting style, parents validate their children’s feelings while also making it clear that the adults are ultimately in charge.

They use positive reinforcement techniques, like praise and reward systems, as opposed to harsh punishments.

Neglectful or Uninvolved Parenting

Essentially, neglectful parents ignore their children, who receive little guidance, nurturing, and parental attention.

They don’t set rules or expectations, and they tend to have minimal knowledge about what their children are doing.

Uninvolved parents expect children to raise themselves. They don’t devote much time or energy to meeting children’s basic needs.

Uninvolved parents may be neglectful but it’s not always intentional.

A parent with mental health issues or substance abuse problems, for example, may not be able to care for a child’s physical or emotional needs consistently.

Another added: “My god. Give her a cup of milk.”

Whilst a third gasped: “Breastfeeding and a nappy at two years of age!!!”

Not only this, but others spotted a “massive choking hazard” as one user advised: “Please watch your children while they eat and get them to sit down – massive choking hazard to let them walk around.”

Ferne’s breastfeeding journey

But this isn’t the first time Ferne has been shamed for breastfeeding Finty.

Earlier this year, the reality TV star explained: “Haven’t posted about my breastfeeding journey in a while, but I still get a lot of people asking if I’m still doing it.

“In complete honesty, I’ve been a bit nervous to share about it lately. Even though I’m such a big advocate for breastfeeding, the truth is, I’ve been afraid of what people might think or say now that Finty is 20 months old.

To me it feels like the most natural thing in the world

Ferne McCann

“I’m sharing this because if you’re like me and still feeding, and you’re feeling pressure to stop or wondering if it’s ‘not the norm’ to breastfeed past one, I just want you to know…there are plenty of mums still doing it. Keep going, mamma.

“However it looks, do your normal. 🤎”

Not only this, but also on social media, Ferne previously wrote: “I get asked all the time “Are you STILL breastfeeding?””

To this, the mum-of-two confirmed: “To me it feels like the most natural thing in the world. And I wonder when the question changed from “are you breastfeeding?” To “are you still breastfeeding?”

“There’s so much misinformation about how long breastfeeding is “appropriate.””

When to stop breastfeeding?

The NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively (feeding them breast milk only) for the first six months, but it’s completely up to you to decide when you want to bring it to an end – and there’s really no right or wrong way to do it.

The NHS says stopping breastfeeding often happens gradually as your baby begins to eat more solid foods.

They note that solid food shouldn’t replace breast milk, as there is evidence to suggest breast milk helps a baby’s digestive system when processing solid food for the first time.

“Once they are eating solids, your baby will still need to have breast milk or formula as their main drink up to at least their first birthday.

“Cows’ milk isn’t suitable as a main drink for babies under one, although it can be added to foods, such as mashed potatoes,” recommends the NHS.

You can also combine breastfeeding with formula and the NHS claims “phasing out” of breastfeeding is often the easiest way – for example, dropping one feed in the day or at night time.

After around one week, you can begin to think about dropping another.

The NHS advises: “If your baby is younger than one year, you’ll need to replace the dropped breastfeed with a formula feed from a bottle or (if they are over six months) a cup or beaker, instead.”

What’s the average age to stop?

You can breastfeed your baby for as long as you want and while the NHS recommends breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months, you shouldn’t feel like you cannot continue for longer.

The World Health Organisation explains: “Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to six months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.”

RTE delight GAA supporters with welcome broadcast change around draw for All-Ireland semi-finals

THE draw for football’s All-Ireland semi-finals will take place live on TV straight after Kerry’s tussle with Armagh concludes.

This is in stark contrast to the quarter-final draw which once again was held on RTE Radio One the morning after the last day of the group stages took place.

As usual, that draw being reserved for the less spectacular setting of Morning Ireland drew widespread ire from fans nationwide.

The GAA have confirmed that the semi-final pairings will be structured so as to avoid repeat match-ups from this year’s Championship from occurring.

For example, Dublin cannot play Meath given they clashed in the Leinster Championship in April.

Armagh would also be precluded from squaring off against Tyrone since the neighbours faced off in an Ulster Championship semi-final.

Holders Armagh’s renewal of acquaintances with Kerry looks to be the pick of an admittedly stacked bunch of fixtures this weekend.

Kingdom boss Jack O’Connor has already suffered a blow ahead of Sunday’s 4pm throw-in as his side will be without injured quartet Mike Breen, Tony Brosnan, Diarmuid O’Connor and Tadhg Morley

However, Paul Geaney has returned to the bench after not featuring since sustaining a shoulder injury in the win over Cork four weeks ago.

Paudie Clifford is held in reserve again after being introduced as a second-half sub in last weekend’s win over Cavan.

Breen and Brosnan missed the preliminary quarter-final against the Breffni. O’Connor and Morley, who are replaced by Micheál Burns and Dylan Casey, were both injured during the nine-point win in Killarney.

Ben Crealey, Rory Grugan and Oisín Conaty have been named to start for Armagh. Oisín O’Neill remains sidelined and Stefan Campbell also misses out through injury.

Conor Flaherty retains his place in goal for Galway, who are unchanged for their last-eight meeting with Meath on Sunday.

The side announced by Monaghan boss Gabriel Bannigan for tomorrow’s meeting with Donegal shows two changes from their win against Down.

Stephen Mooney and Killian Lavelle make way for Jack McCarron and Gavin McPhillips. Gary Mohan is a sub after limping off against Clare.

Brit branded ‘6ft 6in bully built like a brick’ by Kian Harratt hits back at EFL star over Ibiza chair-hurling brawl

A “6’6 bully” Brit accused of sparking the Ibiza pool fight where Kian Harratt lobbed a chair into a woman has hit back and claimed the player was the key troublemaker.

Shocking footage showed the 23-year-old Oldham Athletic striker launching a plastic chair during a bust-up at the Marco Polo Hotel in San Antonio on Saturday afternoon.

The four-legged missile clobbered the lady on the back of the head

It decked a middle-aged woman who was trying to break up the ruckus.

The striker broke his silence last night, admitting he feels “terrible” and “very apologetic” – but also levelled the blame at a poolside “bully”.

Kian said: “He was the worst man you could ever come across and a bully! He was 6’6 and built like a brick!”

Now, that man – Brandon Watkins, 31 – has hit back at Kian, blasting: “I’m 6ft 4 for a start and I’m not a bully.”

Brandon told MailOnline that the footballer had “provoked” his friends and the whole group were “looking for a fight”.

He claimed all had been peaceful during the five days of their stay before Kian and his gang rocked up.

The new arrivals were lobbing balls around causing trouble from the moment they arrived, Brandon claimed.

He continued: “‘They were just being a nightmare. One lad was winding us up. Kian was sat right next to him and if anything Kian was provoking him.

“Next thing I knew Kian picked up a chair and threw it.”

Brandon went on to claim that Kian appeared drunk, and that other guests congratulated his group for seeing off the disruptive bunch.

He said: “It’s just outrageous for a footballer to behave like he did.”

Two videos captured the brawl, including one which appears to show the striker – wearing black shorts and with his distinctive goatee – launching the chair.

Another Brit holidaymaker, Kyle Crawford, witnessed the bust-up and told The Sun the striker and three of his pals were “being horrible”.

Kyle didn’t recognise 23-year-old EFL star Harratt at the time of the altercation – but confirmed his identity after watching the footage back.

A second source who was caught up in the fight told The Sun: “It was Kian Harratt. He was bothering these girls.”

Kyle said Harratt and his friends were “throwing little rugby balls” at the female tourists inside the pool, one of which being the woman who was struck by a chair later on.

“They were just in the pool splashing them and throwing balls at them – being proper immature,” he explained.

Kyle claimed he and his mate stepped in to stand up for the women.

“Me and my mates stuck up for them, and then in the end, they’d come to attack my mate,” he said.

He alleged that there was an altercation, and his mate was punched first during the ruckus.

He said his pal hit back, and the whole confrontation “calmed down” for a bit.

But shortly after, the player and his pals started hurling chairs towards Kyle and his mates, with one of the women who was initially being disturbed getting caught in the crossfire.

“They start throwing chairs – they threw a chair at a woman,” he said.

And a second clip, moments after the initial throw, shows another man hurling a second chair, which knocked the other men into the pool.

The Brit tourist explained: “We just stuck up for her, the lads were just being idiots, immature.

“This video doesn’t do us justice for actually being gentlemen and looking after these women.”

He detailed that after the altercation, the men “all got kicked out”, while Kyle says he and his mates were praised by staff for standing up to them.

“All the staff around the pool said thanks and what gentlemen we were,” he said.

“The women thought they were idiots, immature and stupid.”

Dad reveals hallucinating son’s disturbing final words before he walked off 120ft cliff as boy saw ‘snowmen & Kermit’

A DAD has revealed the disturbing final words his son said to him before walking off a 120-foot cliff during a mountain hike.

Zane Wach, 14, was on his way back after summiting California’s Mount Whitney with his dad Ryan when he began saying alarming things.

Mr Ryan revealed that his son started to feel the effects of altitude sickness and started hallucinating.

He added that Zane, who now remains in a coma, said “he couldn’t tell if he was dreaming or not” and said he could see “snowmen” and “Kermit the frog”.

It all began on June 10 when the father-son duo reached the 14,505-foot peak of California‘s Mount Whitney – the tallest in the continental US.

But as they both began descending, Zane started feeling sick and began saying alarming things before walking off the cliff.

Dad Ryan told SFGate: “[Zane] started to experience some hallucinations.

“He said there was a snowman down there, and that he could see Kermit the Frog near a green lake in the distance.”

As Zane’s mental state got worse, he could not distinguish between dream and reality, the dad said.

Mr Ryan added: “I’ve never seen anything like it.

“He wasn’t making sudden movements, but it was like he was sleepwalking. I didn’t trust what he might do.

“He told me he couldn’t tell if he was dreaming.

“He’d shake his head and say, ‘This isn’t real… I don’t think this is really happening.’

“Like he was stuck in the movie Inception.”

Zane then wandered off the trail and plummeted over the side of the steep granite cliff.

And the tragic fall left Zane with a traumatic brain injury.

Mr Ryan said he could not stop his son from walking off the cliff as he was out of his reach.

He said: “It was in the direction of the ledge. He thought it was right there, like the hike was over.

“I wiped my eyes for a second, and when I looked up, he was already 10 feet away.

“I reached out – but I couldn’t get to him. And then he was gone.”

What is altitude sickness

Altitude sickness, also known as mountain sickness, is an illness that can affect individuals who travel to high elevations too quickly.

It is caused by the lower oxygen levels and reduced air pressure at high altitudes, which the body has not had time to adjust to.

The symptoms of altitude sickness can range from mild to severe and often resemble a hangover.

Common initial symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, shortness of breath, and difficulty sleeping. T

These symptoms typically appear within a day of being at a high altitude.

Doctors suspect that aside from altitude sickness, Zane was also suffering from a dangerous combination of dehydration and sleep deprivation, DailyMail reports.

Even during the summit, Zane said, claiming they had already finished the hike “multiple times” and appeared unable to distinguish dreams from reality.

Dad Ryan said: “He was aware of it, which of course worried me, but he was still able to explain what was happening,

“I thought it’ll pass.”

He revealed that his 5’9′ son was in peak physical condition before the summit – and had no history of mental health issues.

After the tragic fall, Ryan rushed to the bottom of the cliff, fearing his son may have died from the impact.

He said: “I didn’t see how there would be a way for him to survive it.  I thought he was gone.”

But the dad felt relieved when he realised his son showed signs of life.

An emergency helicopter was scrambled and Zane was rushed to the hospital, where he now remains in medical-induced coma.

Doctors say his only other injuries were a broken ankle, a fractured finger, and a fractured section of his pelvis.

Ryan said: “It is a miracle, it could have been so much worse.”

The dad launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the cost of Zane’s medical expenses. He has so far raised $21,000.

He added: “He’s improving, but he still has a long way to go.

“This is a survival story and not a tragedy.”

Emmerdale star returning after five years – with explosive consequences

She will join Tracy in mourning for Nate despite her being under suspicion[/caption]

Actress Carryl Thomas is reprising her role as Nate Robinson’s mum Cara for her on-screen son’s funeral.

A source said: “Nate’s death has been heartbreaking for his family and with the truth hidden the Dingles and Tracy are more divided than ever.

“Cara returns to say goodbye to her son and walks straight into the middle of it all.

“She’s going to have a few choice words for her ex Cain as she tries to understand what really happened to Nate.

“Carryl jumped at the chance to reprise her role after five years to do justice to the storyline.”

Viewers know that John Sugden killed Nate last year and then dumped his body in a lake.

Now Nate’s wife Tracy has come under suspicion for the crime with the Dingles convinced her suspicious behaviour after his disappearance means she is responsible for his death.

She had opened a credit card in Nate’s name, and gave up on looking for him, as well as being the only one who interacted with the removal men who took his belongings away.

Meanwhile she is convinced Cain killed Nate after brutally beating him the day before he disappeared.

However The Sun can also reveal that the pair will soon realise they are both wrong and join forces to hunt down the real killer.

But will they discover the truth about John Sugden? Or is there another twist on the horizon?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.

Leicester finally announce Ruud van Nistelrooy is LEAVING 34 days after season ended with cult boss favourite for job

LEICESTER CITY have finally announced Ruud van Nistelrooy is LEAVING the club 34 days after the end of the season.

The Dutch manager oversaw the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League after replacing Steve Cooper in December.

The Foxes were relegated back to the Championship after just one season[/caption]

Van Nistelrooy, 48, has been expected to leave the King Power Stadium after the club’s relegation was confirmed.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the delay was due to Leicester wanting to wait for the next football “accounting” period.

His exit was confirmed by the club, which stated they had “mutually agreed” to terminate his contract.

Van Nistelrooy said: “I would like to personally thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club and to thank the fans for their support, and take this opportunity to wish the club well for the future.”

Nistelrooy’s time in charge in the East Midlands was less than inspiring as the team returned to the second tier with a whimper.

He only managed four wins in 25 Premier League games and racked up 18 defeats.

The club even lost 15 league games between December 14 and April 12, with only one win to add some cheer, which came against Tottenham on January 26.

As a result, the club finished the season in 18th place – 13 points adrift from 17th-placed Spurs.

Sean Dyche is the favourite to take up the hot seat at the King Power Stadium.

The English manager has been out of work since he was sacked by Everton in January.

Ruud's shocking record

Here is a look at Ruud van Nistelrooy's record at Leicester City...

Matches – 27

Wins – 5

Draws – 3

Losses – 19

Goals scored – 24

Goals conceded – 57

The former Burnley man was in charge of the Toffees for less than two years before David Moyes replaced him.

Dyche will not have far to travel as he currently lives up the M1 in Nottingham.

Meanwhile, Leicester are still anxiously waiting on the points penalty they will pick up for past financial offences.

This could see the club start the new season on negative points if they are docked any.

If appointed, Dyche could also have to manage with a restricted budget – something he is accustomed to at his previous clubs.

Leicester had previously been linked with former Southampton manager Russell Martin but he has since taken the Rangers job.
