Haunting moment teen girl gives tearful funeral eulogy to mother and stepdad – before being charged with their murder

THIS is the haunting moment a teen gave a tearful funeral eulogy to her slain mother and stepdad – just months after allegedly killing them.

Sarah Grace Patrick, 17, now faces two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the shootings of Kristin Brock, 41, and James Brock, 45.

Patrick has now been arrested and charged[/caption]

The chilling video of Patrick’s eulogy shows the teen in a pale blue dress, standing before mourners at the lectern of the Catalyst Church in Carollton, Georgia.

She said:  “I just wanted to say goodbye to my mom and James since we never got the chance to.”

Patrick called her mother a “beautiful kind soul” and told mourners she’d always be her “sunshine.”

Now, the same speech that drew tears from the crowd is drawing scrutiny from law enforcement.

Carroll County Sherriff’s spokesperson Ashley Hulsey told NewsNation: “It seemed odd. It was more like a speech, and at the end she said, ‘I’m sorry.’

“Was that, ‘I’m sorry because I may have done this,’ or is it, ‘I’m sorry because I was upset during this eulogy’? We may never know.”

Patrick was 16 at the time of the February 20 murders.

She reportedly called 911 after her half-sister, aged five, discovered the couple’s bodies inside their Carrollton home, west of Atlanta.

Both had been shot multiple times.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared stolen.

In the weeks following the murders, Patrick posted emotional tributes to her parents on social media.

She even shared a TikTok montage, saying she’d “always think about how much I needed them”, NBC reports.

“From the very moment the 911 call was received, a relentless investigation began,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

That probe eventually zeroed in on Patrick’s so-called “digital footprint.”

“When you want to post your life online, it becomes fair game,” Hulsey said.

Family members say they grew uneasy with Patrick’s behaviour, especially at the funeral.

James Brock’s niece, Krysten Dowda, claims that Patrick’s online statements changed over time and that she “did a crying voice but never shed a single tear.”

She told the Daily Mail: “She fake cried at the funeral.

“The main thing… how do you not hear multiple gunshots in a small house?”

The niece also claimed she immediately saved a video of the eulogy, adding: “I knew one day everyone would get to see this for what it was.”

In the video, Patrick addressed the congregation with what appeared to be trembling sincerity.

“Your heart will be finally healed in heaven,” she said of her stepfather.

“Although that gives me so much comfort, your life was not supposed to end there.”

While Dowda has publicly condemned Patrick, her grandfather – Kristin Brock’s dad – is standing behind her.

“She swears her innocence,” Dennis Nolan told NewsNation.

“If they had something concrete, they would have arrested her a whole lot sooner.”

Patrick’s dad, Doniel Patrick, was by her side when she surrendered this week and has since posted online: “I’ll always be in your corner…

“You were sent here with purpose, wrapped in grace and born to shine in ways only your soul knows how.”

Authorities say they’re still searching for a motive.

Hulsey described the case as active and ongoing, warning that additional arrests could still be made.

The teen is being charged as an adult and is currently represented by a public defender.

“She’s 17. She’s kind of been out on her own. She’s lived with different family members and moved all over the place,” Hulsey said.

“We don’t know what goes through the mind of a child who wants to harm their parents.”

Why clothes pegs could be ruining your summer wardrobe and how to stop it

WHEN the sun finally shows its face, most of us race to hang our laundry outside but if you’re reaching for the pegs, you might want to think twice.

According to experts, those little plastic clips could be silently wreaking havoc on your favourite outfits, especially if you’re drying delicate fabrics.

Fashion brand Superdry have issued a warning to laundry lovers, urging Brits to take extra care when drying their clothes outdoors this summer.

Superdry said: “Take caution when using clothes pegs, as they can leave unsightly and potentially permanent pressure marks on delicate fabrics,” they said.

If you’ve ever pulled your favourite dress off the line only to find weird dents in the shoulders or waistband, pegs are likely the culprit.

The advice they gave was to skip the pegs altogether when it comes to delicate items, and if it’s breezy out, don’t risk your clothes flying away either.

Instead, pop them flat on an airer or dry them indoors where you can keep an eye on them.

There are plenty of ways to give your whites that sunshine-fresh feel without the side effects.

Superdry suggests spritzing your laundry with white vinegar before hanging it out, this boosts the sun’s natural whitening power without damaging fabrics.

But it’s not just about marks and dents.

Some natural fibres, like cotton and linen, can dry stiff and scratchy after baking outside all day.

To keep your clothes soft, try bringing them in while they’re still slightly damp and finish them off in the tumble dryer for a few minutes.

Cleaning expert Sarah Dempsey, from MyJobQuote, also warns that summer isn’t always the best drying weather, especially when it’s humid.

She said: “High levels of humidity in the air can result in longer drying times, so you may find that clothes dry much more quickly on a cold winter’s day than they would on a humid summer day.”

She also recommends ditching a full clothes line for a foldable airer outside, it is just as effective.

It saves space, prevents indoor damp, and won’t ruin your flowerbeds.

Experts also warn against the classic radiator-drying trick, which may seem convenient but can lead to mould and rising energy bills.

“Drying your clothes on radiators can increase the moisture in the air and cause health risks,” Sarah said.

“If you must use them, add a dehumidifier into the mix.”

And for the love of your clothes, don’t let them sit in the washing machine for hours.

Leaving damp laundry in the drum can cause nasty smells, mildew, and permanent damage.

Instead, get them straight out and onto a line or airer while they’re still fresh.

So ditch the pegs and treat your wardrobe to a bit of TLC this summer.

‘I’m a fan’ – Hamzah Sheeraz backs Jake Paul to fight for world title and face Anthony Joshua before Tyson Fury does

JAKE PAUL has received the backing of Hamzah Sheeraz to face Anthony Joshua AND fight for a world title.

Paul is now the No14th ranked cruiserweight with the WBA after victory over ex-middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

And afterwards, the 28-year-old included 6ft 6in heavyweight Joshua on his list of opponents he wants to fight.

But while others have laughed off his title ambitions and challenge to AJ – British star Sheeraz believes they are genuine.

He told Ariel Helwani: “I’m a fan. He could’ve chosen any other sport, but he chose boxing.

“You’re going in the ring, you’re risking your life, so there’s respect there for him.

“And he’s improving with every fight, and he’s stepping up in his fights as well.

“I get it, they’re tailoring the opponents to him, but that’s how every pro [boxer’s career works].

“I wouldn’t be surprised if, with the right world champion, he fights for a world title.

“I [also] wouldn’t be surprised [if Anthony Joshua vs. Paul happened before Joshua vs. Tyson Fury], especially with how Jake Paul is going, the trajectory that he’s on.”

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

Sheeraz, 26, drew to WBC middleweight champ Carlos Adames, 31, in February in Saudi Arabia.

Now he moves up to super-middleweight to face American Edgar Berlanga, 28, on Saturday in New York.

Joshua, 35, meanwhile is yet to return since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois, 27, in September.

And Fury, 36, is linked with a comeback following his retirement which he announced in the wake of his two losses to Oleksandr Usyk, 38.

Sheeraz said: “Everyone knows what Tyson Fury is like, everyone knows what he’s about.

“The dynamics of the sport of boxing right now, especially if you’re Tyson Fury, you wouldn’t be wise to walk away — even though he could, because he’s achieved it all. The space boxing is in now, it’s only right he stays.

“[Fury vs. Joshua is what I] want as well, but I think [the Usyk trilogy is] more for Tyson Fury himself. It’s more for him as a fighter.

“It’s for his ego — he needs to get that one back. If you look at the two fights [between Fury and Usyk], the first fight, alright, I thought Usyk won it.

“The second fight was a lot closer. If you’re going off that, I think, in his head, the third fight he’s going to dominate.

“I’d love to see [Fury vs. Joshua as well], I think we will see it. Maybe [at the] end of 2026.”

Justin Bieber drops surprise seventh album with son Jack Blues on the cover after concerns over erratic behaviour

JUSTIN Bieber has released his surprise seventh album – and it features young son, Jack Blues, on the cover.

The troubled pop star, 31, delighted fans when, out of the blue, he announced that new music was imminent earlier in the week.

It is his first album since 2001’s Justice.

Titled Swag, the record has been getting a lot of love from fans, who have already listened to all 21 of the tracks.

A deeply personal LP, the album’s song titles and lyrics lay bare his personal struggles over the years.

While the artwork sees a shirtless and heavily tattooed Justin sitting on a sofa while holding Jack by his legs above his head.

Among the tracks is Therapy Session, Forgiveness and Go Baby.

The latter is a tribute to wife Hailey and sees Justin croon, “That’s my baby, she’s iconic, iPhone case, lip gloss on it.

“When sunlight turns to shadows and it gets hard to face… nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break, don’t need to pretend you’re ok.”

The couple have faced split rumors in recent months but look in a good place in new snaps of them holidaying in Ibiza.

A number of loved-up pics show them cosying up by the water’s edge, having seemingly smoothed out any differences.

Justin has admitted he’s a flawed person and has made moves to straighten himself out, cutting ties with friends, an assistant and bodyguards.

However, there was concern about the public nature of one of the fallings out, with Justin sharing text messages online.

In one, an unnamed person said: “I’m not used to someone lashing out at me. It’s not that I don’t see and feel your anger.”

Justin replied “Ouch. This friendship is officially over.

“I will never accept a man calling my anger lashing out. I enjoyed our short lived relationship. I wasn’t kidding when I told u I didn’t need u as a friend.

“I have good friends. Who will respect these boundaries.”

The U.S. Sun revealed how Justin’s team has changed dramatically in recent months.

He worked with assistant Mateo Caldas, who was also an estate manager, since 2018 – but Mateo has moved on.

The star’s rep hit back at worrying rumors Justin’s health has declined, telling TMZ he’s in “one of the best places in his life.”

They said that the past year has been “very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”

However, Justin has long been open about his struggles.

He’s credited his Christian faith and his wife, Hailey Bieber, for helping him through dark times.

The couple married in 2018 and have been under public scrutiny ever since.

While they’ve often posted about their love, recent cryptic posts — including a plea for prayers from Hailey’s father last year— have fueled speculation about tension behind the scenes.

How to keep cool from day to night in the hot weather – from 5p hack to wool bedding

THERE’S no need to spend your night sweating and waking up tired.

Fabulous’ Rebecca Miller and Leanne Hall have tried all the latest gadgets, hacks, and old wives’ tales to battle the heat and keep cool as temperatures soar.

Rechargeable Handheld Fan – £12.99, Vonhaus

White handheld fan with digital display.
VONHAUS
Vonhaus fan is a lifesaver on public transport[/caption]

Handheld fans are the must-have summer accessory for Londoners on the tube, and Vonhaus’ rechargeable fan saved me on the hottest day of the year.

It’s small enough to fit in your bag, or hang it around your neck using the lanyard. With a long battery life, it survived my 45 minute commute each way, and a little cooling down at the desk during the day. It’s also quick to charge.

Pros: Five speed settings, neck loop, stand, quick to charge, cheap!

Areas to improve: None.

Keep cool score: 10/10

ONESIZE Mini Secure the Sweat Waterproof Primer – £15, Sephora

Rebecca’s makeup (right) after 12 hours and a sweaty tube ride home[/caption]

There’s nothing worse than your makeup melting when it’s hot. Luckily, that didn’t happen once when I wore ONESIZE’s Sweat Primer.

This beauty product is a game-changer. No sweaty upper lip, no beads forming on the nose. No need to fan my face or apply extra powder to mop up the perspiration.

I applied it after sun cream and before foundation. Then set about baking my face in golden hour at 32 degrees whilst sipping drinks with friends. Nothing happened.

Ok, let’s try a sweaty underground tube ride home! I applied it at 6:30am along with the rest of my makeup, endured a full day in the office under air con, before wrestling the rest of London onto the Piccadilly line home. Still no facial sweating.

Pros: Easy to use, incredibly effective, fragrance free, suitable for sensitive skin, doesn’t cause makeup to separate.

Areas to improve: It can pill if used as directed. Instead of patting the primer onto the skin, I found rubbing it in, then letting it dry before applying foundation worked best.

A Cup Of Tea – 5p, Yorkshire Tea

Man carrying many cups of coffee and tea.
Getty
A cup of tea can solve just about anything[/caption]

If you dare tell your nan or grandad you’re too hot, you can bet they’ll tell you to stick the kettle on.

I’ve always suspected it was an old wive’s tale, but I wasn’t going to argue with them, but as it turns out, there’s good reason to get a brew going.

A hot drink can help your body sweat faster, which will get rid of the excess heat, while a cold drink will make your body sweat more slowly.

So I sat down and made myself one in the sweltering heat and forced myself to drink it.

I did think it was a gimmick for the first 15 minutes, but then all of a sudden I realised I was feeling a lot more comfortable in the heat.

Pros: Tasty, cheap, enjoyable.

Areas to improve: None.

Cotton Rib Vest Short Set Pyjamas – £16, Next

Green tank top and colorful floral shorts.
NEXT
Next’s pjs are an instant winner in the hot weather[/caption]

While sleeping naked might seem like a good way to stay cool during a heatwave, wearing light pyjamas made from materials like cotton can help wick away sweat and keep you more comfortable throughout the night.

And Next’s pair did just the job.

At a bargain price of £16, the cotton rib vest short set comes in an array of colours and designs. They were extremely comfortable, great quality, and washed well.

Pros: Cheap, stylish.

Areas to improve: None.

MeacoFan Sefte® 8” Rechargeable Fan – £99.99, Amazon

Meaco black and white desk fan with digital display.
MEACO
The Sefte® 8” Rechargeable Fan is great for occasional use[/caption]

I’m completely biased when it comes to Meaco products; their dehumidifiers are incredible, so I had high expectations for the fan.

It arrived the next day (thanks, Amazon Prime Delivery), and I was instantly impressed; all the packaging was plastic-free and recyclable.

It comes with an already charged battery, so you can be cooling a room in seconds after unboxing, and because it’s cordless, it can be positioned anywhere.

I tested the fan in various scenarios; to keep me cool at night during the mini heatwave, and a quick cold blast when working at my desk. It was extremely effective.

However, it’s more of an occasional fan than a continuous fan. If you choose a high speed setting and want it blasting cold air at you all night, the battery quickly runs out. As a result, you end up having to charge it daily, sometimes twice a day during a heatwave.

On top of this, it’s not a fan you can just get out when the temperature hits 33 degrees for four days in the summer and expect it to work…Meaco recommends charging the battery for 1.5 hours during the winter when it’s not in use, or its efficiency reduces by 50%.

Pros: Easy to use, sleek design, quiet, brilliant functions, super cheap to run.

Areas to improve: Having a top handle would make it easier to carry from different rooms, alternative shape remote, and better battery life.

Keep cool score: 8/10

Deluxe Washable Wool Mattress Protector – £89.99, Woolroom

Deluxe washable wool mattress protector on a bed.
thewoolroom.com
The wool mattress protector is soft and comfortable[/caption]

The thought of using wool to keep cool may sound bonkers, but there is science behind it. Wool helps regulate temperature, which means it helps keep you cool when you’re hot and keeps you warm when it’s cold.

This mattress protector may be thin but adds a nice bounce to your bed. When I grab the sheets to get in, my bed is nice and cool even when it’s hot outside thanks to the mattress protector.

Pros: Comfortable, cooling, easy to wash.

Areas to improve: None.

Keep cool score: 9/10

Deluxe Washable Light Wool Duvet – £108.74, WoolRoom

Smart temperature cotton duvet on a bed.

Their wool duvet also helps regulate temperature[/caption]

The matching duvet works in the exact same way and has helped stop me overheating and waking up during the night.

While I like it, there isn’t much difference to a normal tog duvet, when it comes to keeping you cool, especially when you consider the price.

Pros: Comfortable and light-weight.

Areas to improve: High price point.

Keep cool score: 6/10

Silk Sleep Mask – £69, Drowsy

Drowsy branded mauve silk sleep mask.
Research suggests keeping your forehead cool helps you sleep better
DROWSY

I was sceptical about how a sleep mask would help me keep cool and have a restful night’s sleep, but research suggests a cool forehead reduces brain activity and helps you wind down. And since wearing Drowsy’s Silk Sleep Mask, I’ve been sleeping soundly.

It’s insanely comfy to wear – imagine having a tiny duvet wrapped over your eyes and ears – and so smooth, with the silk offering a cooling effect.

I am the lightest of sleepers, and this silk mask is not only blackout, but it doubles up as ear defenders. There’s a matching pillowcase, too, which can help regulate the rest of your body’s temperature.

Pros: Luxurious, anti-ageing, washable.

Areas to improve: High price point.

The cooling gel means you don’t have to hubnt for the cold side of the pillow anymore[/caption]

During the summer, I’m constantly turning my pillow around trying to find the cool side, but thanks to the cooling mat on this pillow, I slept soundly.

This Luff Sleep pillow keeps you cool all night thanks to the gel pad actively dispersing heat from it, and you can even add an ice pack on top before heading to bed to make it extra icy.

The memory foam perfectly forms to your head and neck so you instantly fall asleep.

It also comes with a pillow protector that can be put in the washing machine for easy cleaning.

Pros: Cooling, comfortable and easy to wash.

Areas to improve: None.

Daewoo 3-in-1 portable air conditioner with remote.
daewooelectricals.com
The air con unit was heavy but blasted cold air quickly[/caption]

I was very excited to get an air conditioner, especially as I had to sit waiting for it to arrive in 30 degrees heat.

I was shocked by just how big it was and how heavy but it did come with wheels to make it easier to move around.

Setting it up was relatively easy and the air conditioner instantly gave me some relief from the hot weather.

It was also really noisy when turned on so it’s not ideal for sleeping with but works great during the day.

Pros: Three settings, easy to use, breezy.

Areas to improve: Noisy and excessively large.

Cooling Bra Inserts – £14.99, Issviva

There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a heatwave and feeling sweat drip down your chest, especially if you’re wearing a bra. So I was eager to try these cooling bra inserts to keep me comfortable while running around central London.

They are super easy to slide into your bra and instantly give you relief and after a few minutes, you forget they are there.

My only problem is that they don’t stay cold for long so they aren’t great if you plan to be out all day.

Pros: Comfortable.

Areas to improve: Cooling effect could last longer.

Daewoo 3-in-1 tower air cooler, humidifier, and fan.

The air cooler looks sllek and offers relief in a heatwave[/caption]

This Air cooler fan has to be my favourite I’ve tried. While it is big, I like the fact it comes in a tower shape as it feels like it takes up less space in a room.

The fan comes with a water tank that you fill to help the air cool down.

My favourite thing is that it comes with two ice packs that you can add to the water tank and it instantly makes you feel like you’re in Antarctica.

While it is cheaper to buy than the other fan unit, we found that it costs £1.50 to put on for two hours so it’s not something to keep running all day.

Pros: Easy to use, breezy and instantly cools the room.

Areas to improve: Expensive to run.

‘Bucket list day’ – Sarah Lavin stuns at Wimbledon as she takes in tennis alongside Team GB star athlete

SARAH Lavin enjoyed a “bucket list day” alongside Dina Asher-Smith as the sun split the stones/grass at Wimbledon.

The Irish athletics ace watched many an ace of a different kind as they attended Centre Court at SW19.

Recapping the day as a whole on Instagram, she beamed: “Bucket list day with Dina Asher-Smith!”

The cross-country fraternity among athletics was plain to see among the replies as Dutch star Femke Bol and Scottish Olympian Jemma Reekie were among the many who gushed over her look.

Irish pentathlon world silver medallist Kate O’Connor similarly commented her adoration via a pair of love heart eye emojis.

Lavin and Asher-Smith’s stint at Centre Court was primarily been spent watching seven-time champion Novak Djokovic come back from a set down to beat Flavio Cobolli 6-7, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.

In doing so, the Serbian icon secured a spot in Friday’s semi-finals where he will face number one seed Jannik Sinner.

After Wednesday’s victory it emerged that the Queen had thanked the king of tennis Novak Djokovic for putting her up at one of his properties in Montenegro.

Camilla, 77, attended Wimbledon on the day and met the 38-year-old as part of a greeting ceremony at the All England Club.

She then watched from the royal box as Djokovic – who has never lost when the Queen has been watching him play – completed a four-set win.

After the match, Djokovic insisted his chat with the Queen, a tennis fan, was “private” and unrelated to the sport.

But they appeared to discuss a trip to the Balkans, where it is claimed she stayed at one of Djokovic’s properties.

A clip of the pair talking on the players’ lawn shows Djokovic saying: “Oh yes, the property in Montenegro. Wonderful. I hope you enjoyed it.”

The Queen, who was accompanied by her sister Annabel Elliot, responded: “Lovely. It was quite a long time ago. Very nice.”

Camilla also said she had her “fingers crossed” for the seven-time Wimbledon winner’s clash with Flavio Cobolli, which Djokovic took in four sets despite a nasty fall.

Djokovic later said it was an “honour” to once again meet the Queen, who has watched him six times in 14 years in West London. He told reporters: “We had a nice exchange.

@sarahlavin_
Limerick native Lavin shared this view of Cobolli mid-serve[/caption]

“I was actually surprised with her comment and a question that she asked. It was non-tennis related. She was very pleasant. Very, very pleasant.

“Of course, it’s a great honour and privilege for me to be able to shake hands with the Queen of England. I’ve had that honour, as well, in 2010 with the late Queen Elizabeth.

“It’s obviously a phenomenal occasion for Wimbledon to host the Royal Family.

“Wimbledon has been traditionally attracting the Royal Family. It’s beautiful to see there’s still an interest for our sport.”

Djokovic and Camilla are thought to be referencing the Queen’s trip to Serbia and Montenegro in 2016, where she spent time with representatives from the Novak Djokovic Foundation.

And now it has been revealed that he referred to women as “sexy” on social media over 100 times.

Not only this, but he called a former MasterChef winner and a BBC presenter a “sexy b***h” – with the post yet to be removed.

The TV host claims he was cleared of all the serious allegations, but was fired from MasterChef after a sexual misconduct probe.

The BBC have now received 50 new allegations with 11 women accusing him of inappropriate behaviour such as groping and touching.

There are dozens of occurrences on social media where Gregg posted sexualised comments on line.

He called 2012 MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo a “sexy b***h” and “sexy girl”.

In one exchange, he said: “hello mate, how you doing ? Sexy b***h !”

He also called former BBC Breakfast presenter Penny Haslam, whom he knows from them both being ambassadors for WeightWatchers, a “sexy b***h”.

In total, on his X page, Gregg calls people – men and women – “sexy” over 135 times.

This includes MasterChef finalist Angela Langford, MasterChef judge Monica Galetti, and interior designer Kelly Hoppen.

As well as This Morning’s Alison Hammond, Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood and former Page 3 model Linda Lusardi, whom he also called a “sexy girl”.

John Torode is constantly called “sexy” – and his wife Lisa Faulkner “hot point” and “pretty”.

Gregg has always claimed that his behaviour isn’t harassment, yet ex-Celebrity MasterChef contestant Aasmah Mir publicly called him out for saying “sexy b***h” to her face.

She said in a Tweet last year: “In 2017, I took part in Celebrity MasterChef.

“I put my first dish down in front of the judges and the cameras paused to reset.

“In front of everyone, Gregg Wallace told me to tell a colleague at the BBC ‘that she was a sexy b***h.’

“No-one said anything. And yes, I did complain.”

With Gregg’s sacking from the BBC revealed this week, he released a statement online.

He wrote: “After 21 years of loyal service to the BBC, I cannot sit in silence while my reputation is further damaged to protect others.

“I have now been cleared by the Silkins report of the most serious and sensational accusations made against me.

“I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate.

“For that, I apologise without reservation.”

He claims that the stress led to him being taken to hospital in Ashford, Kent, with a suspected heart attack after two days of agonising chest pains.
