Two beloved TV channels are closing down on Sky in just DAYS amid fresh schedule shake-up
SKY customers are days away from the permanent closure of two beloved TV channels.
It’s part of a massive TV guide shake-up that was rolled out throughout April.

India Today, available on Satellite channel 523 will end its broadcast permanently on July 1.
And Music India, which customers can access on channel 711, will also cease operations on the same day.
The former – a popular news channel – launched in May 2023 and coincided with the general election in India.
India Today’s sister channel, Aaj Tak, will continue to be available on Sky, channel 710.
BOLD PREDICTION
It comes after one TV expert said it is “unlikely” Sky will ever release a new satellite product.
Paolo Pescatore, an expert for PP Foresight, told The Sun it is “highly unlikely” Sky will ever release a new satellite box “given the investment and timescales with the TV switch off that’s around the corner”.
Last year, Sky signed a contract extension with satellite operator SES that takes the service up to 2029.
“Ultimately Sky would prefer to migrate all users onto its IP based products which in turn will lead to the end of Sky Q,” Paolo said.
“It is reliable, robust and serves customers needs.
“They do not want to buy another telly with Sky inside for now.”

Humiliation for Putin as £37m jets destroyed in strike before vengeful tyrant kills two in blitz on Ukraine tower block
UKRAINE has successfully blitzed a pair of Russia’s prized Su-34 fighter jets – costing a humiliated Vladimir Putin £74million.
Russia’s despot hit back with a terrifying revenge strike which killed a married couple in a deadly attack on a Ukrainian tower block.

The twisted tyrant decimated a 21-storey residential block in Odesa and left it up in flames as 14 others, including a child as young as 3, were rescued and rushed to hospital.
Two other children were also among the wounded in the overnight attack, regional Governor Oleh Kiper said.
Russia has drastically increased its drone and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities in recent weeks amid growing issues around securing a lasting ceasefire.
Kyiv has continued to defend themselves valiantly against enemy attacks with them landing a humiliating blow to the Kremlin.
They launched a tactical drone attack on Russia’s Marinovka military airfield in the Volgograd region in Friday.
Ukraine used long range drones to fly 200 miles to inflict millions of pounds worth of damage to Putin’s aerial firepower.
The blitz targeted a set of four Su-34 fighter jets which are each worth a reported £37million.
Furious Russian military analysts confirmed that two of the Su-34 multi-role fighters used on the frontline for bombing missions against Ukraine were destroyed.
The two others also suffered damage.
Pro-war Russian Telegram channel Fighterbomber raged that the hit “could and should have been prevented”.
The channel expressed fury at the “multi-billion dollar” losses Putin’s forces are suffering each week to their military arsenal.
Ukraine’s SBU security service also commented on the successful strikes as they said: “The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the SBU used long-range drones to attack Russian fighter jets.
“The attack also caused a fire in the technical and operational part of the enemy airfield, which is a critical infrastructure for a military facility.
“This is where the enemy prepares aircraft for flights, carries out their routine maintenance and repair work.”
It came less than a month after Russia supposedly tightened its military air base security after 40-plus strategic bombers and spy planes were hit in Kyiv’s audacious Operation Spiderweb.
In Operation Spiderweb – one of the most stunning attacks of the war – drones were launched from trucks positioned close to at least four Russian airfields.
It crippled much of Putin’s doomsday bomber flee with 41 of his most prized aircraft lying in smouldering wrecks on tarmac.
Ukraine said the sneak attack was worth $7bn (£5.2bn) in damage to Russia – caused by only 117 cheaply made drones.

Putin has launched countless revenge strikes since he was embarrassed by the attack.
Last week, he unleashed the deadliest Russian strike on Kyiv in 2025 as 28 people were killed in airstrikes.
Russia blasted 27 locations in Kyiv, with 440 drones and 32 missiles hammering the city for nine hours, according to Ukrainian officials.
Buildings and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it “one of the most terrible strikes on Kyiv”.
Days earlier, Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv was bombarded with 48 kamikaze drones, missiles and guided bombs.
The assault killed three people and injured 21.
Inside Russia's faltering war

By Sayan Bose, Foreign News Reporter
THE Russian invasion of Ukraine has been advancing at an incredibly slow pace – with Kyiv’s “dronegrinder” warfare miring Putin’s summer offensive.
The rate at which Moscow is capturing land has been dubbed “slower than a snail” – all while the human cost of Russian casualties is sky high.
After 448 days of fighting inside Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast, the Russians reportedly only managed to take control of 50 per cent of the city.
Which means the troops, on average, are only able to take 0.00629 square miles of land per day – which is a painfully low conversion rate.
Even snails, which have a speed of 0.03 miles per hour, can cover more land than what the Russians have gained in the region.
Meanwhile, Kyiv has ramped up its defences as it seeks to thwart Vladimir Putin’s final killer summer offensive, which military analysts say could start as early as July.
Ukraine’s fierce resistance forced Russian troops to stop in the Sumy region’s border area, Kyiv’s military Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky revealed.
The military boss said that the Ukrainian armed forces managed to tie down a 50,000-strong force and stabilise the frontlines “as of this week”.
But, some 125,000 Russian soldiers are reportedly now massing along the Sumy and Kharkiv frontiers, according to Ukraine’s military intelligence.
Ukrainians have tasked a special defence group to strengthen fortifications near the frontlines, build anti-drone corridors and “kill zones”
It comes amid fears that Vladimir Putin may launch a fresh summer offensive to try and take as much land as he can before agreeing to a ceasefire.

My sister wants to wear a Bridgerton-style dress to my wedding – I think it’s ‘too white’, others say I’m overreacting
YOUR wedding day is meant to be one of the biggest and happiest days of your life.
But things were left up in the air for one bride-to-be after her sister shared the dress she planned on wearing to the celebration.

Posting on Reddit, the bride explained that she had asked the female members of her family to wear blue, so they could collectively be her ‘something blue’.
But when her 19-year-old sister wanted to wear a pastel blue dress she wasn’t sure what to make of it.
“Am I being a bridezilla for thinking this is too bridal/not on the mark?” She asked fellow Reddit users after showing a picture of the garment.
Although the dress was pale blue, it could easily look white under certain light.
Not only that, but the dress featured a white strip down the front, which many thought pushed the boundaries.
“I thought this was a wedding dress at first,” one person commented on the post.
A second agreed: “It looks more white than blue. I would suggest a better colour, material, and style. The material looks heavy too.”
“That’s nuts, it’s obviously bridal, put your foot down,” a third wrote.
Another comment read: “Is she a Bridgerton? Yeah, I can see why you don’t like it is is very pale.” And someone replied with a reference to the hit Netflix show: “Scrolled way too far for this haha. Immediately when I saw it, in my head I heard “DAPHEEEEE, YOU MUST MAKE HASTE!”
Meanwhile, others were more concerned by the style of the dress than the colour, as some slammed the dress as “matronly.”
One joked: “Is she trying to look like she lives in 1800’s London?”
“It looks like a set piece from Downton Abbey or Bridgerton,” a second slammed.
“Tell her she can wear that dress on the prairie when she helps John-Boy with the potato crop,” someone else chimed in.
But others thought the dress was even worse than that.
“I think it looks like a panty liner, with the absorbent strip down the centre. What an unfortunate dress,” one said.
Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette
If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble.
- Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
- Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
- Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream – even if it’s not.
- Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
- Wearing white is a massive no-no if you’re not the bride.
And another thought it looked more like toilet paper as they commented: “I’m sorry but that’s the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen. It looks like crumpled up toilet paper. Tell her no.”
After the responses, the bride decided to confront her sister over the dress, and luckily she agreed to ditch it.
“I told her it would likely photograph super light during the day and offered to pay for another dress she would like to wear,” she explained.
The bride was praised for putting her foot down by many of the Reddit users.
One said: “Good for you, it’s your day and you shouldn’t have to compromise.”
“There are so many better dresses, help her pick something,” another suggested.
Wedding makeup do's and dont's
Paige Williams, Founder & CEO of the iconic P.Louise makeup brand shared her tips.
DO: Go timeless over trendy
We all love a trend babe, but for your wedding day? Let’s keep it classic. Think soft glam, radiant skin, neutral tones with a pop of sparkle – You want to look back in ten years and still be obsessed with your glam. Classic never goes out of style.
DON’T: Try something totally new
Your wedding day is not the time to switch it up with neon liner or completely new brows babe. You want to feel like you, just the most elevated, glowing version. Stick to what you know makes you feel confident and gorgeous.
DO: Prioritise long-wear formulas
Your wedding is a marathon, not a sprint. You’re not just walking down the aisle, you’re dancing, hugging, crying, and posing all day long. You need makeup that’s in it for the long haul. Go for waterproof, transfer-proof & cry-proof products. Your face needs to slay from ‘I do’ to the last dance and be able to handle those happy tears.
DON’T: Overload your base
Babes, less is more. You want coverage, not cake. Go for that breathable, buildable base that lets your real skin glow through. You’re aiming for flawless, not flat. Trust me, your photos will thank you.
DO: Book a trial
Non-negotiable. Whether you’re DIY-ing your glam or booking a MUA, a trial is your makeup dress rehearsal. Test it in daylight, take selfies, wear it for hours. It’s the only way to know it’ll hit just right on the day.
DON’T: Forget your neck & chest
Don’t stop the glam at your jawline, babe. Blend that foundation, bronzer and glow down to your neck and chest, we’re going for seamless, snatched and sculpted from every angle. You’re the main event, let it show.
Friends star’s nepo-baby son is following in their acting footsteps – but can you guess who his famous parent is?

THIS nepo-baby was born into television royalty, thanks to one of his parents being a cast member of Friends.
The rising star in question is now forging his own career as an actor, but can you guess which star of the famous sitcom he’s related to?

We are of course talking about Lisa Kudrow’s son, Julian Murray Stern, 27.
The actress, 61, is best known for playing Phoebe Buffay in Friends, alongside Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry.
Lisa was actually pregnant with Julian whilst she was filming the show.
Her pregnancy was written into the fourth season of Friends in 1998, when Phoebe was carrying her brother’s triplets.
Lisa previously recalled some fond memories of this time on the set of the famous sitcom.
“The six of us would do a huddle backstage and just say, ‘All right, have a good show, love you love you love you love you.,'” she told People.
“And when I was pregnant, then they would say, ‘Have a great show, love you love you — love you, little Julian!’
“This was because we knew it was a boy and that was his name.
She then added how “sweet” she found this gesture from her famous co-stars.
Lisa shares Julian with her French husband Michael Stern, who she wed in 1995.
Following in his famous mom’s footsteps, Julian is forging a career in acting and has starred in the TV series, That’s Hollywood, Baby, and the short film. Big City Boy.
He has also got a number credits for editing.
Lisa would often bring Julian to work with her when she filmed Friends, so he grew up on the set.

However, her son hasn’t always a fan of his mother’s work.
During an interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Lisa revealed how her Julian only recently watched the first few episode of Friends, and was surprised at how “impressive” it was.
“He called me up and said, ‘So I just watched the first two episodes. It’s really good, Mom,’ ” she revealed. “I said, ‘Thanks.’ He said, ‘Can I ask you some questions about that?’ I’m like, ‘Yes!’ I almost started crying. I didn’t think that anyone in my family liked that show.”
She continued, “He was 5 when we were finished … but he did start watching when his friends at school started watching.
“[But when] he watched it and he was impressed.”
Lisa is incredibly proud of her son, and told OK! magazine in 2020: “He’s unbelievably great. We lucked out.”
She added: “I try to advise him about girls, then I realise I probably don’t know what I’m talking about.”

GAA manager exodus continues as top boss steps down after ‘three years of ups and downs’ following All-Ireland exit
ROSCOMMON are the latest county on the look-out for a new manager after Davy Burke stepped down.
Burke leaves the job after three years at the helm, having guided the Rossies back to Division 1 of the National League in his final campaign.

He is the latest inter-county managerial departure, following Kevin McStay’s controversial axing from Mayo and Andy McEntee’s exit from Antrim.
Burke said: “After careful consideration, I have decided to step down as Roscommon Senior Football Manager, bringing an end to my 3 year term.
“I would like to thank the Roscommon County Board in particular County Chairperson, Brian Carroll for his unwavering support and loyalty through the highs and lows over the last 3 years.
“I appreciated it more than you will know.
“During my tenure I have had the privilege of working alongside a fantastic group of people in my backroom team.
“While there are too many to mention individually, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your professionalism, dedication and loyalty to Roscommon Football.
“My management team of Eddie Lohan, Mark Doran, Hugh Lynch and Leo Tierney.
“Thanks lads for your immense commitment, your expertise and your constant support. It was a pleasure to work with you all.
“To the Roscommon players, it was an honour of a lifetime to be entrusted to manage you bunch of men for 3 years.
“I am very proud of the improvements we made, the work we put in together and the experiences we had along the way.
“I will be on the terrace in The Hyde keenly watching on and wishing you continued success.
“There is no better sight than The Hyde pitch full with Rossie jerseys after a win.
“Finally to my family who as always were my biggest backers and supporters. There was never a journey too arduous for them.
“The crew were always there.”
The former Wicklow boss was appointed at Roscommon in October 2022.
In his first season, they narrowly missed out on the Division 1 final, while they beat Mayo in the Connacht SFC before losing to Galway in the semi-finals.
His maiden All-Ireland series in charge was ended by Cork in the preliminary quarter-finals.
2024 saw them drop down to Division 2 while they lost to Mayo in the provincial semi-finals and Armagh in the last eight of the Sam Maguire.
They bounced back up to Division 1 earlier this year before once again losing in the Connacht SFC semi-finals, to Galway.
The Rossies failed to get out of the All-Ireland round robin this summer, with Burke’s final act as boss being a two-point loss to Cork.
‘SINCERE THANKS’
Chairperson Brian Carroll said: “I have witnessed first hand the effort, dedication and commitment Davy has put in since his appointment in October 2022.
“I want to thank Davy most sincerely for everything he has done for Roscommon GAA.
“We have had highs and lows over the 3 years but Davy’s ambitions and goals for our players, supporters and our County was always to be the very best we could possibly be.
“I want to thank all our backroom team for their work over the last 3 years.
“Finally I want to wish Davy, Shauna, Shea and little Conn the very very best in the future and I wish them health, happiness and success on and off the pitch.
“It was a pleasure to work with Davy and he will always be welcome in Roscommon.”
Roscommon GAA will now begin the process of appointing a new senior football manager.
Glastonbury’s most legendary secret sets from Foo Fighters appearance to Pulp and The Killers
GLASTONBURY is the holy grail of music festivals, with any act worth its salt desperate to play at the iconic Worthy Farm site.
Such is its pull that the biggest artists in the world are only too happy to squeeze onto the bill for surprise performances on stages their popularity has long since eclipsed.

This year is no exception with Lewis Capaldi set to make a triumphant return to the Pyramid Stage under the pseudonym Patchwork – two years after a struggle with his Tourette’s prompted him to take an extended break from live performances.
We take a look at memorable secret sets from past years:
THE CHURNUPS

By the time Dave Grohl and co took to the Pyramid Stage as The Churnups in 2023, the secret was well and truly out of the bag.
But that didn’t deter the American rock veterans, who headlined in 2017, from ripping through a concise nine song set packed with hits.
Running out in front of a banner with the Foos’ pseudonym on in a heavy metal font, Dave Grohl was all gas no brakes, headbanging and sprinting around like a man half his age.
It was a poignant, uplifting return to the farm a year after the band’s drummer, Taylor Hawkins, died while they were touring South America.
THE KILLERS

Two years before they headlined the festival for a second time in 2019, The Killers flashed their Vegas-infused brilliance on the John Peel Stage.
Led by showman Brandon Flowers, the band emerged at 5.30pm on the Sunday afternoon and launched into an anthemic When You Were Young.
As news spread around the site, the crowd grew bigger with hundreds, if not thousands, of fans gathering outside the tent to hear the hits.
It was a memorable moment and paved the way for a glorious return to the top of the bill in 2019 where they were joined by special guests Johnny Marr and Pet Shop Boys.
MAC DEMARCO

The popular songwriter brought his lo-fi beats to the Crow’s Nest in 2016.
Over 400 fans tried cramming into a tiny tent late at night to hear chilled hits like Salad Days.
One lucky person that made it inside, wrote on Instagram: “Mac Demarco secret set in the tiniest tent was worth climbing the muddiest hill.”
PULP

Britpop favourites Pulp are riding high once again following the release of critically acclaimed comeback album, More – their first in 24 years.
But the magic never really faded, and those who witnessed their 2011 secret set can attest to that.
Frontman Jarvis Cocker was in fine form and typically dapper for the Park Stage performance playing a mix of hits and deeper cuts.
One fan said: “Wasn’t much of a secret as everyone knew by the time Sunday rolled around. We got a spot mid-morning and managed to hold it down as the field filled up. It was an amazing set with people watching it all the way up the hill.”
Radiohead

In what was a golden year for secret sets, the mighty Radiohead downsized from the Pyramid Stage to play The Park.
The experimental Oxford outfit played tracks from their stellar King of Limbs album to a rapturous audience.
As you can imagine, excitement was at fever pitch when Thom Yorke and co eventually appeared, with one gig-goer saying: “Outrageous, the wait the buzz.”
RICK ASTLEY AND BLOSSOMS

Rick Astley and Blossoms were perhaps one of the most surprising combinations to grace Glasto, yet it really worked.
The two acts’ homage to Manchester‘s musical heroes The Smiths in 2023 sent fans nuts.
The 80s pop idol and indie favourites gelled effortlessly and did Morrissey and Marr’s anthems justice in the Woodsies tent.
“Such great energy, everyone was buzzing,” said one audience member.
THE LIBERTINES

The Margate boys were a late addition to the lineup in 2015 after Florence and the Machine were bumped up the bill in unfortunate circumstances.
Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl broke his leg in a freak stage fall just weeks before his band were due to headline, forcing them to pull out.
Glasto bosses elevated Florence and then scrambled to add a support-worthy act.
Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, Gary Powell and John Hassall stepped in to fill the void and played their literary indie classics on a sunny afternoon on the farm.
One of the UK’s oldest holiday parks reveals £6million upgrade plans with new glamping pods and sky terrace
A HOLIDAY park group in the UK has revealed some of the exciting new additions coming to the resorts as part of a multi-million revamp.
Allens Caravans – which is one of the oldest family-run residential and holiday park groups in the UK – has already begun upgrades at it’s sites.

For example, in Worcestershire, the Abbots Salford park has new lodge accommodation and refreshed the onsite facilities.
The main clubhouse has also had a mini refurbishment, with the introduction of a new food and drinks offering, the creation of a new Owners’ Lounge for holiday homeowners, an improved fishing lake, a new children’s outdoor play area and new pool tables.
The park also has a new entertainment programme.
Over at the Bredon View site, in the Cotswolds – which has a golf course and a back-to-nature vibe – there will be new activities such as croquet and bike hire.
Coastal spots such as Sunbeach and Aber Bay in Wales, both have new glamping pods with boutique-style living and sleeping spaces for up to six people as well as hot tubs.
At Sunbeach, the clubhouse has also undergone refurbishment and there is a new adventure golf course.
At Aber Bay, there will soon be a new sky terrace, food truck on the beach and a camping fielding in time for August breaks.
Both parks will also have an improved entertainment programme for the summer holidays.
Over in Northamptonshire, at the Overstone Lakes Holiday Park, there will be a new holiday home development made up of 21 luxury homes.
The park will also see an improved clubhouse and an outdoor container bar and stage with live performances and visiting entertainment acts.
Prices for the new properties start at £260,000 for the two-bedroom Willerby Forest.
Overstone Lakes will also gain a new enclosed dog walking area and improvements to the swimming pool area, changing room and pool bar.
Allens Caravans CEO James Allen said: “Our parks offer a mixture of coast, countryside and lake-side locations, and a wide range of facilities and activities – so there is something for everyone.
“We have made it a priority that all of the new developments, however sizeable, blend harmoniously with the surrounding countryside, staying true to the natural charm of the parks.
“We’ve always been committed to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for our residents, and this latest investment is a reflection of that commitment.”
A three bedroom, pet-friendly caravan at Sunbeach Holiday Park costs from £199 for seven nights through Hoseasons.
Alternatively, you could book into a Nautical Pod for seven nights, with up to six guests and have a private hot tub for £405.
Over at Aber Bay, you could stay for seven nights for as little as £265.
In addition, Hoseasons is currently offering up to £350 off summer breaks booked before July 2, for stays between June 17 and September 20, 2025.
There is also an affordable UK holiday park that mums say is like Center Parcs without the price tag.
Plus, the award-winning UK holiday park that you probably don’t know about – with huge outdoor pool and nearby world-famous beach.

Kneecap to take to Glastonbury stage today despite Keir Starmer calling for them to be axed after terror charge
KNEECAP are set to perform at Glastonbury today despite calls for the Irish hip hop trio to be banned.
Frontman Liam Og O hAnnaidh was charged under the Terrorism Act after allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist group Hezbollah while saying “up Hamas, up Hezbollah” during a gig in November.

Last week the rapper – who performs under the name Mo Chara – and bandmates Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh were mobbed by hundreds of fans outside Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
He was released on unconditional bail – and is due at the same court on August 20 for the next hearing.
Kneecap are due on the Somerset festival’s West Holts Stage at 4pm on Saturday.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said it is “not appropriate” for the group to perform at the festival, which started on Thursday.
Asked by The Sun on Sunday if he thinks Kneecap should play, the PM said: “No I don’t.
“I think we need to come down really clearly on this. I won’t say too much, because there’s a court case on, but I don’t think that’s appropriate.”
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch also said the BBC “should not be showing” the band’s set in a post on social media.
Her post said: “The BBC should not be showing Kneecap propaganda.
“One Kneecap band member is currently on bail, charged under the Terrorism Act.
“As a publicly funded platform, the BBC should not be rewarding extremism.”
The band are not currently listed for live broadcast.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “Ticket-holders can once again expect to see uniformed officers on site at Glastonbury Festival 24/7 throughout the festival as part of our extensive policing operation ensuring it is safe for everyone attending, as well as those who live nearby.”
In response to the charge, Kneecap said in a post: “14,000 babies are about to die of starvation in Gaza, with food sent by the world sitting on the other side of a wall, and once again the British establishment is focused on us…
“Instead of defending innocent people, or the principles of international law they claim to uphold, the powerful in Britain have abetted slaughter and famine in Gaza, just as they did in Ireland for centuries. Then, like now, they claim justification.
“The IDF units they arm and fly spy plane missions for are the real terrorists, the whole world can see it.”
Hezbollah – founded in 1982 – is an Iran-backed Shiite militia.
The Lebanese terrorist organisation voiced support for the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7 2023 before launching guided rockets and artillery shells at Israeli-occupied positions.
Israel has retaliated with strikes on Gaza – and the conflict remains ongoing, with thousands of people, including civilian children, killed.
Kneecap has said they “do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah”, condemned all attacks on civilians, and alleged footage was “deliberately taken out of all context” as part of a “coordinated smear campaign” over their criticism of “the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people”.
