JURGEN KLOPP has suggested his managerial career might be over after admitting he doesn’t want that life “anymore”.
The German coach quit Liverpool at the end of last season after nine years in charge of the Anfield outfit.
SplashJurgen Klopp has hinted he may never manage another football team[/caption]
GettyKlopp admits he does not miss his old role[/caption]
Having now had more than a year to reflect on his career options, Klopp, 58, candidly revealed he believes his time in the dugout could be over.
Speaking to German outlet, Welt, the former Borussia Dortmund boss admitted life as a football coach took him “too far away from a normal life”.
He recalled how he lost 16 kilos between his time leaving Borussia Dortmund and joining Liverpool, thanks to being on top of his diet and exercising – something he couldn’t do when mulling over tactics.
Klopp said: “I was in a tunnel, but never with myself. Now I pay more attention to myself.
“As silly as it sounds, I stopped doing what I always wanted to do.
“But it took me too far away from normal life – and ultimately, I no longer had a normal life.
“Whatever normal life is: my car knew three ways: to the stadium, to the training ground, and home.”
Klopp explained how while he had plenty of visitors in Liverpool, he barely had any time for them – referencing how he had been to two weddings in the last four months as opposed to none in 23 years before that.

Following his Liverpool exit, Klopp has found new roles as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer and in the latest Hotel: Trivago, advertisements.
But the Premier League and Champions League winner hasn’t been short of top clubs wanting to add him to their ranks, with Bayern Munich inquiring over his availability.
However, despite chats with Jose Mourinho and Roy Hodgson about coaching, his gut feeling is that while he loved his job, he doesn’t miss it.
Asked about his links to Bayern, Klopp said: “But I don’t want that anymore. I have a job now that fulfills me and is also intense.
“I don’t sleep in the morning and I don’t go to bed later at night, but I can organise my work much better.
“My wife, for example, is really happy with it because we can plan things much better that we couldn’t before…
“Of course I enjoyed it too. Some days I couldn’t believe my luck. Just look where I came from – and then I made it to Liverpool FC, and it worked out pretty well there.
“If I were to go back to coaching somewhere, it would all start again. I’m me! I can’t just take over and coach.
“Then I’d be completely involved everywhere again. And I just don’t see that happening anymore.”
On his chats with Hodgson and Mourinho, he continued: “He (Hodgson) came up to me and asked how I was. In the same breath he said to me: ‘I miss it.’
“And I was like: ‘What?’ Roy is 77 years old – and he wants to be a coach again. Unbelievable!
“When we played against Crystal Palace with Liverpool, I always asked him whether his apartment was damp or why he was standing on the pitch now.
“But Jose Mourinho also said to me: ‘This is not the end.’ There are those coaches who always want to do that. I loved being a coach, but I was never addicted.”
Klopp also ruled himself out of taking a job at one of the Red Bull teams.
Klopp has botched his Liverpool exit… and it’s cost him his legacy, says Dave Kidd
By Dave Kidd
NOW we know Jurgen Klopp’s final major trophy haul at Liverpool — one Champions League, one Premier League, one FA Cup, two League Cups and (if you must) a World Club Cup.
But where does his reign stand among the greatest of the Premier League era?
In black-and-white terms, Klopp is way behind Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola, the only two men to have won multiple Premier Leagues and a Champions League at the same club.
Those two sit alongside Brian Clough, Bob Paisley and Sir Matt Busby as the undoubted all-time managerial greats of the English game.
But Klopp ranks in the next tier down — with Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho (the Chelsea version), Bill Shankly and Don Revie.
These were all men with the strength of character to transform their clubs in their own image and enjoy success but who did not win as much as they might have done.
Had Klopp managed to keep his intentions under wraps and ended up with another title, perhaps even a treble or quadruple, he’d have edged himself up into that highest echelon with Ferguson, Guardiola, Clough, Paisley and Busby.
But deciding the timing and the manner of your exit is one of the toughest calls for any manager or sportsman.
Klopp got it wrong.

THIS is the moment a stranger put out a “freak” fire outside a popular cafe in Co Donegal.
The Narrow Quarter Bistro & Coffeehouse nearly suffered a major fire incident at their establishment due to one of their small trees outside starting to smoke and catching fire.
A freak fire broke out in one of the trees at the cafe entranceInstagram/@thenarrowquarterThe stranger was seen rushing to the scene to deal with the incidentInstagram/@thenarrowquarterHe was seen dragging it away from the car and the cafe to prevent further fire damageInstagram/@thenarrowquarter
Taking to social media, the cafe shared a CCTV clip showing the “freak occurrence” that happened on Thursday, where smoke started to form and drift down the street.
A brave hero was seen running towards the burning tree, trying to de-escalate the situation before it worsens.
He was spotted dragging the tree away from the car and the cafe’s entrance, where the wooden signage could easily have gone up in flames.
And the mystery stranger brought it to one of the establishments to get water to extinguish the flame.
A co-worker was also seen helping him by providing water to put out the flame.
The hero managed to prevent significant fire damage to the property and also saved the tree’s life as it was seen safe on camera.
The cause of fire remains unknown as there was no cigarette butts or potential fire hazards dumped in the tree on their camera footage.
In a post by the cafe owner, they issued a plea to the public to help identify the brave man, as they want to give him a generous gift for his actions.
They said: “A bit of a freak occurrence yesterday, one of the small trees outside started smoking and caught fire.
“Thankfully it was caught quickly before any damage was done, especially as our signage is wooden and could’ve gone up too.
“Huge thanks to the sound lad who helped drag it away and put it out…., if anyone knows who he is, maybe tag him or pass on his details to us please…
“We have something small to say thanks!”
Yesterday, the owner confirmed in the comment section that they got in contact with the gentleman’s wife.
‘SO MUCH DANGER AVERTED’
The locals and loyal customers of the cafe were left amazed by his actions and immediately rushed to the comments to praise his bravery.
One person wrote: “Fantastic, he acted so quickly and sensible. The car would have exploded as well, so much danger averted.”
Another person added: “Well done to that man!”
The third person said: “Fair play to him! Glad all is okay.”
The owner replied to the comment: “Yes indeed! It could have been way worse.”

The comedian used a private concierge to buy her Glastonbury tickets – but they never materialised.
Joanne’s mystery seller blocked her phone number and left herself and 50 other music fans furious.
The Dubliner explained: “He is gone. The money is gone. There is no ticket. We were robbed. And obviously it wasn’t cheap because it was Glastonbury and it’s a once in a lifetime experience.”
Joanne had been due to go to Glastonbury with her close friend, content creator Rossi Lewis, who headed to a property he believed was registered to Joanne’s ticket scammer.
Joanne later explained what Rossi found when her got to the house: “Apparently, he listed this concierge company to his parents’ address,” she said.
Rossi has since claimed the man in question has called him to apologise for the scam, which has left Joanne seriously out of pocket.
And after a rocky few hours, Joanne managed to bag herself another golden ticket.
She shared an update for her fans last night on Instagram saying: “I’m coming to you from a petrol station toilet, which can only mean one thing – I got a ticket.
“The festival gods have been good to me. So I can access my tepee which was going to sit there vacant for the weekend.”
Joanne had a quick turn around as she got festi-ready wearing a pair of black faded jorts, a black one-shoulder bodysuit and a pair of black and white trainers.
The 42-year-old finished off her cool look with a purple and black rhinestone cap, a pair of white Bound socks and a gold chain around her neck.
The podcaster posed with her arms in the air holding a drink in her hand as she finally arrived at Worthy Farm.
Joanne shared the stunning snap on Instagram and captioned it: “Made it to @glastofest.”
She added: “Despite getting financially swindled by a company trying to pay off the Albanian mafia.”
‘THANK GOD’
Joanne’s invested friends and fans were so relieved to see the stars align for her.

And now the Beeb has said it will “make an on-demand version” available while the band itself posted that their set will be on “iPlayer later this evening”.
It comes after PM Sir Keir Starmer said the rappers should not be allowed to perform at all amid frontman Liam Og O hAnnaidh’s terror charge.
His youth career was spent at German regional side TSV Pattensen 1890, who celebrated 135 years as a club this week.
To mark the occasion they held a friendly against Hannover, losing 3-0.
Mertesacker lined up for the semi-pro side – marking his football comeback after retiring in 2017.
The centre-back started the match but lasted just 30 minutes.
He said ahead of kick-off: “I’m halfway in shape.”
Mertesacker played down his chances of a permanent stay, adding: “That’s out of the question for me. But my passport is still with TSV, I think.”
The German is still tied down to Arsenal as director of the club’s academy.
Mertesacker played 221 games for the club between 2011 and 2018 before moving into a coaching role with the Gunners’ youth teams.

He previously revealed his plans for the academy, stating: “I believe as an academy we should be in a position to provide those players for the first team in the future.
“I am really conscious that alignment means as well that once we get more successful and get back into the Champions League, that is the level for our players to be at.
“With the tweaks we are making [in the academy] and becoming younger by acquiring talent from the outside to become younger, this is a message to the academy: we need to be world leading.
“To become that we are on a journey. How close are we? I’m not sure.
“We’re competing with the best academies in England but also in Europe and the world. I think we’re in a good position, but ready to do more.”

Mary, played by 61-year-old Linda Davidson, was one of 26 EastEnders characters when the soap launched in 1985.
Her single mum character first appeared in episodes three, with viewers getting to know her controversial ways over the following three years.
Yet her time on the long running series came to a close in 1988.
Linda then stunned fans as Mary and fellow EastEnders OG character George ‘Lofty’ Harrison reunited for an image with Dot Cotton, played by the late June Brown.
It teased their comeback for a storyline in 2018that saw another of the soap’s original characters, Dr Harold Legg, get killed off
The pair were also seen together in 2015 at celebrations for the 30th anniversary of EastEnders.
Yet away from the soap set, Canadian born Linda looks completely different.
She has traded in her character’s dark, wild locks and backcombed style for a neat blonde pixie cut.
Gone are the leather jackets and pale-faced make-up with heavy eyeliner combinations, with smart suits and red lippie her current uniform.
Linda gave up acting – after stints on Casualty and an appearance on the Lorraine show – to work in web design and now runs a social media agency.
She often gives keynote speeches in media and has previously addressed the issue of social mobility in a speech at the House of Commons.
SOAP STAR
A soap source previously told The Sun how well-regarded her character was.
They told us: “Lofty and Mary The Punk are two of the most memorable characters of the original set of stars.
EastEnders facts and figures
THE beloved British soap has been captivating audiences for decades.
EastEnders follows the lives of the residents of Walford as they navigate love, loss, family drama, and community struggles.
Speaking of her own time on the soap, Linda previously said: “EastEnders was my first proper family.
“It gave me stability and a fantastic foundation from which to build an incredible life.”
Mary was seen as one of EastEnders’ most controversial characters at its launch — a former punk rock groupie and drug user whose wild lifestyle put her baby at risk.
Barely able to write, she couldn’t look after her child without her neighbours’ help and earned her living as a prostitute.
She returned to Walford for two separate stints, in 2019 and 2022.
Off screen, Linda previously dated co-star Nejdet Salih, who played cafe owner and minicab driver Ali Osman.
