And she was left gobsmacked after the bout between professional wrestler Stunt Marshall, and Dontae Smiley.

Smiley had the first slap but was unable to impose any lasting damage on his opponent.

And Marshall made him regret it immediately as he sent him crashing to the floor with a powerful left-handed slap.

To make matters worse Smiley’s head slammed into the podium between them as he fell, before falling into the arms of two support staff.

The KO stunned the arena, including Rousey who covered her mouth and looked amazed.

Fans were shocked by the blow and the devastating nature of the KO.

One reacted saying: “That was 🥶

Another added: “Cannot be good for the brain. Should be outlawed in my opinion.”

I travel to Spain every month – 12 stunning and cheap destinations Spaniards love that Brits have never heard of

AFTER years of travelling to Spain almost monthly, I’ve learnt where to go if you want to dodge the crowds, eat well, and actually feel like you’re a local.

There are loads of places that Spaniards head to on holiday that most Brits don’t even know exist.

Google Maps
Great destinations to visit (l-r), El Palmar, Ronda, Toledo and Tossa[/caption]

These aren’t just quiet villages in the middle of nowhere; they’re lively, packed with culture, good food, and beautiful views.

So, if you’re up for something different, forget Benidorm and Barcelona.

Check out these places that are not only less touristy but cheaper and brimming with proper Spanish charm.

Inland Málaga: Ronda, Ardales and Antequera

Most people landing in Málaga do the same thing – head straight to the coast and barely leave the beach for a week. And I don’t blame them.

But if it’s a change of pace you’re after, drive just an hour inland and you’ll hit one of Spain’s most underrated regions.

This area around Ronda, Ardales, and Antequera is what I’d call proper Spain – it’s beautiful, full of history, and still mostly untouched by British tourists.

Start in Ronda, a stunning town split in two by a huge gorge, with a stone bridge linking both sides.

It’s dramatic and buzzing with local life. And while you’ll find some tourists here, they’re mostly Spanish, so it still feels super authentic.

There are endless tapas bars, cosy restaurants, and shady squares where people actually live.

Nearby Ardales is tiny but charming, and right next to the Caminito del Rey, a jaw-dropping walkway is pinned to the cliffs above a turquoise river.

It used to be known as the most dangerous hike in Spain, but now it’s safe, stunning, and one of the best things I’ve done in the country.

Finally, it’s worth checking out Antequera – a small city packed with churches, castles and even prehistoric tombs older than the pyramids.

This is the sort of place that doesn’t shout about itself, but everywhere you go, there’s something to see.

You can easily visit all three towns over a long weekend, and you’ll come home wondering why more people don’t.

The real Costa Brava: Tossa, Canyelles and Sant Feliu

Barcelona is my usual go-to for a Spanish city break. It’s got great food, culture and nightlife, but going in the summer months can be a bit chaotic.

After a couple of days, I like to bolt on a more chilled trip up the coast. A quick coach ride north gets you to the Costa Brava.

Most package holidays land in Lloret de Mar – but swerve this if you want to dodge the Brits abroad. Just beyond it are spots more locals go to, like Tossa de Mar

While not undiscovered, Tossa has managed to hang on to its charm and still far more popular with Spanish families than Brits.

It’s got a proper Catalan feel, with a castle overlooking the beach, a cobbled old town and plenty of family-run restaurants serving authentic local food.

Tucked between Lloret and Tossa is Platja de Canyelles, a small cove that feels like a completely different world.

It’s mostly used by Spanish second-homers, so you’ll find plenty of peaceful spots and not one sign in English.

The beach is quiet, the water’s super clear, and there’s just enough going on to keep you fed, watered and content.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols is further up, and ideal if you want a bit more of a local town vibe.

It’s got a proper promenade, a big marina, and a town centre for a spot of local shopping – and not just souvenir shops.

Sant Feliu is great for shoppers wanting to explore a town[/caption]

Locals come here for weekend breaks, so the restaurants are authentic and the prices aren’t inflated. It’s also a great base for walking, relaxing, or activities like kayaking and snorkelling.

This part of the Costa Brava is a great choice for those who prefer to mix up their holiday itineraries from the usual sunbathing on the beach.

The Cádiz Coast: El Palmar, Zahara de los Atunes and Tarifa

When most people think of southern Spain, they picture the Costa del Sol – with packed beaches, bustling nightlife and loud resorts like those in Marbella, Benalmádena or Torremolinos.

But head west to the Cádiz coast and it’s a completely different story.

This stretch of coast is all about surf towns, local food and relaxed beach life without the crowds. It’s where Spaniards go to unwind – and the best bit? Most Brits don’t know about it.

El Palmar has to be my all-time favourite beach here. It might not be easy to get to (you’ll need to get a bus or hire a car to get to it) but it’s worth the effort.

It’s known for its wide open beach and Bohemian surfer vibe that’s almost impossible to find anywhere else in Spain. There’s a reason why they nicknamed it “Cadizfornia”.

There are no big hotels or chains here, either, just beach bars, surf schools and Spanish families enjoying the sun.

The Cadiz coast is a great alternative to the Costa del Sol[/caption]

While El Palmar can get a little windy, the sunsets are unreal, and the seafood is super fresh. It feels like a Spanish secret you never want to leave.

If you do leave, you can head down the coast to Zahara de los Atunes, a fishing village that turns into a lively summer spot.

It’s got some of the best beaches in the region with proper seafood restaurants, hitting that sweet spot of happening but not hectic. In the evenings, the beach bars light up and it feels like one big local party – without the cheesy tourist traps.

Top things off with a stop at Tarifa – Europe’s southernmost town, where the Atlantic crashes into the Med. Expect narrow streets, music-filled bars, and plenty of activities for adventure lovers, such as kite surfing.

Fancy a break from the beach? Head inland for a day in Jerez de la Frontera – where sherry comes from.

You can tour the old sherry bodegas with a tasting tour, catch a live flamenco show, or just sit outside a local bar with a cold fino and a plate of jamón. It’s cheap, full of character, and barely touched by foreigners.

Day trips from Madrid: Toledo, Cuenca and Segovia

If you’re planning a trip to Madrid for a city break, don’t just stick to the city. There are plenty of day trips you can do, which I love – and all less than an hour by train.

Packed with history, and strangely overlooked by Brits, the tiny cities of Toledo, Cuenca and Segovia each offer a proper taste of old Spain without the crowds.

As Spain’s former capital, Toledo is the better known of the three. Locals from Madrid head here for a weekend of food and wandering.

Toleda[/caption]

Perched on a hill and wrapped in a river, it’s full of quaint winding streets, ancient churches and views for days. You can spend hours getting lost in the old town, ducking into bars, or sitting in shady plazas with a glass of vino.

Cuenca is smaller and quieter, but it’s still got the wow factor.

Built on the edge of a deep gorge, with old houses called “Casas Colgadas”, which are literally hanging off the cliffs, it feels like something out of a fairytale.

You can walk across the (quite scary) San Pablo bridge for epic views, explore quirky galleries and museums, and stop for lunch in the sun with barely a tourist in sight. It’s peaceful, colourful and unique – the kind of place that feels untouched.

Finally, there’s Segovia, which has to be the most photogenic of the three thanks to its massive Roman aqueduct – one of the best preserved in the world – and a castle that supposedly inspired Disney’s sitting high on the edge of town.

Segovia also has a top-notch food scene, being famous for “cochinillo” – a must-try, melt-in-the-mouth roast suckling pig dish.

All three are easy to reach from the capital and feel a world away from the usual Brits abroad scene – with the bonus of being back in Madrid by bedtime.

Andrew Tate escapes charges for allegedly assaulting ex Bri Stern after model accused him of choking her during sex

ANDREW Tate has escaped further criminal charges after he was accused of violently choking his ex-girlfriend during sex.

Model Bri Stern, 25, alleged the disgraced British influencer attacked her on March 11 while the pair were staying in Beverly Hills Hotel together.

The latest in a string of serious allegations lobbied against Tate was rejected by US courts due to ‘insufficient evidence’[/caption]

The latest in a string of serious allegations lobbied against Tate, 38, was rejected by US courts due to “insufficient evidence”.

Tate’s attorney Joseph McBride announced the prosecution had dropped the sexual harassment and battery cases online.

He celebrated the decision by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as a “huge win”.

McBride also claimed it proved they had been able to “expose lies” from Stern – despite the case being dropped rather than cleared.

The attorney added that Tate had responded to the allegations when asked and vehemently denied them.

He also supplied a “do-not-prosecute” packet of information urging prosecutors not to pursue charges, according to McBride.

Sources close to Stern say she was never notified of the decision to decline charges, TMZ reports.

She has also filed a complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department and is seeking a restraining order against Tate.

Stern first claimed back in March that her face and body has been left bruised by Tate when he “attacked” her during sex.

The social media model even posted pictures and videos showing the alleged injuries which she says were taken directly after the former couple stayed together in a hotel room in Beverly Hills.

A police report from Stern accused Tate of choking her and failing to stop even when she begged him to during rough sex.

She claimed Tate got more violent as she pleaded with him – but shockingly revealed she “still loves him”.

Stern described feeling like she was slipping out of consciousness during the alleged assault.

Tate’s lawyer described the allegations as “fake news” at the time.

Text messages were also shared in the court documents which were allegedly sent to Stern by Tate during their relationship.

In the messages, Tate is accused of telling her he wants to “beat the f**k out of you” and boasts about how she “deserves it”.

He also told the model that there was “no point in having you” if he didn’t “beat and impregnate you”.

Tate, and his younger brother Tristan, still face a number of criminal charges in both the UK and Romania.

Andrew, who is currently living in Bucharest, is accused of ten charges in total.

This includes rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain against three women.

His brother, 36, is charged with 11 offences against one alleged victim – including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.

The pair deny all of the charges.

The charges lobbied against them in Romania have been ongoing for a number of years now and must be settled before they can be taken to court in the UK.

Both have said they will return to London to plead their case after the pair were hit with rape charges in May, their lawyer has said.

Ex-kickboxer Andrew moved to Romania years ago after first starting a webcam business in the UK.

He was joined by Tristan with the pair living together since.

Self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew also appeared on Big Brother but was famously booted off the show.

Domestic abuse - how to get help

DOMESTIC abuse can affect anyone - including men - and does not always involve physical violence.

Here are some signs that you could be in an abusive relationship:

  • Emotional abuse – Including being belittled, blamed for the abuse – gaslighting – being isolated from family and friends, having no control over your finances, what you where and who you speak to
  • Threats and intimidation – Some partners might threaten to kill or hurt you, destroy your belongings, stalk or harass you
  • Physical abuse – This can range from slapping or hitting to being shoved over, choked or bitten.
  • Sexual abuse – Being touched in a way you do not want to be touched, hurt during sex, pressured into sex or forced to have sex when you do not consent.

If any of the above apply to you or a friend, you can call these numbers:

Remember, you are not alone.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse over the course of their lifetime.

Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse.

Luke Humphries needs X-ray on swollen thumb after darts fan pulls his hand during shock walk-on at US Darts Masters

LUKE HUMPHRIES faces a hospital visit with an injury scare after being yanked back by a fan on a walk-on.

The World No1 was left in pain after the thumb on his throwing hand was pulled back by an overzealous fan during his walk-on at the US Masters in Madison Square Garden.

The bizarre incident took place ahead of ‘Cool Hand’s’ first-round match against Stowe Buntz.

Despite the discomfort, Humphries still managed to win the World Series event after seeing off Nathan Aspinall 8-6 in the final.

But the Cheshire thrower confessed he’ll have to get an x-ray as the pain refuses to go away.

He said: “My thumb is incredibly swollen. It’s hard to play through. I was struggling with the grip. I couldn’t hold my thumb in the same position.

“I don’t want to make it all about that, I’ve won the title and I don’t want it to be about me having an injury, but the guy when he pulled my hand back, he really hurt it.

“I’m going to have to go home and get it x-rayed. I don’t think it’s broken as it doesn’t hurt to squeeze it. I’ve got a couple of weeks off. Next time I play is two weeks away, so I’ve got plenty of time.

“It’s not broken, that’s the main thing, but it’s not in good shape, it’s incredibly swollen.

“When I was in the final, I said to my family I’m going to give it everything.

“If I injure my hand in the final, I don’t care. I tried my best and it was good enough so really pleased. I wasn’t at my best but I managed to win.”

Des Cahill reveals ‘what I respect most’ about Dessie Farrell after ‘decades of service’ following Dublin GAA exit

DES CAHILL has paid tribute to Dessie Farrell and his “decades of service” after stepping down as Dublin football manager.

Farrell resigned following yesterday’s All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Tyrone.

Ramsey Cardy/Sportsfile

The RTE veteran shared a heartwarming throwback photo of the ex-Dublin gaffer

It brought to an end a six-year stint at the helm which yielded two Sam Maguire titles.

Reacting to his resignation, veteran RTE broadcaster Cahill praised the now-former gaffer and revealed what he respected the most about him.

He tweeted: “Dessie Farrell steps down after nearly four decades of service to #Dublin GAA.

“Apart from winning senior All-Ireland’s as a player AND manager, what I respect most is the years he put in with county development squads, and Minor and Under 21 teams.

“Enjoy your Tues & Thurs nights!”

Farrell’s final year in charge of the Dubs will go down as a disappointing one.

As well as exiting the All-Ireland at the quarter-final stage for the second year in a row, they also lost their stranglehold on the Leinster SFC.

A stunning defeat to Meath in the semi-finals brought to an end the Dubs’ run of 14 provincial titles in a row, with Louth eventually being crowned champions.

However, in his parting message, Farrell insisted that the Sky Blues will rise to the top of the pile once again.

He said: “I would have informed the County Board at the start of the season that regardless of what happened this would be the last hurrah.

“I’ve informed the players in the dressing room there as well that I’d be stepping away. I’ve had a great innings.

“I think it’s just come to a natural end. It’s easier to say it today than I have to say it next week or in a couple of weeks’ time.

“While everyone’s bitterly disappointed, sometimes failure is greatness waiting to happen. This could be a big platform for that group going forward.

“A lot of lessons in this season for players and for the group, and I think they’ll be better for it and well set up to attack a new season in 2026.

“Some of the new lads we brought in this year, still getting to know them, but a great crop of fellas as well. It augurs very well for Dublin football.”

Farrell says 2025 was always going to be a transition year for Dublin after the host of departures.

But the 1995 All-Ireland winning hitman loved every second of his time in charge as they won two All-Irelands and five Leinster SFC crowns under his watch.

‘DIFFERENT SEASON’

He said: “I think everyone involved, management, coaches, backroom and players knew that this was going to be a different season. We just embraced that challenge and see where it took us.

“I definitely don’t want to make it about me because it’s always and always has been about the players. Ultimately, they’re the men who step into the arena.

“They’re the men in the formative years of their lives who dedicate so much to playing for their county. I have huge admiration and respect for them.

“I think the overriding feeling for me now is that I will miss the people. It’s not necessarily the position because some of the relationships are really important to me.

“Some of those lads have been like kids to me, watching them grow up.

“They’re a special group and I’m very, very grateful for them and for all they’ve given. They’ll drive on and Dublin will be a good place next season and the season after.

“I think between being a player for Dublin underage and as a senior player and then as an underage coach and senior coach, manager, whatever you want to call it, I’ve got the guts of 40 years.

“It’s a long time and it’s been a privilege every year, every step of the journey. I’ve met some great people. I’ve had a ringside seat for some of the best players that ever performed in the arena out there.”

I hated the perv next door trying to look in our garden so my dad found a ‘functional, pretty’ way to block him out

A WOMAN who was desperate to find a way to stop her neighbour “perving” over the fence has shared the “functional and pretty” solution her dad came up with.

Laura had initially taken to a Facebook group to ask for advice on how to increase the amount of privacy she had in her garden, after the next door neighbour reduced the height of his fence.

View through a door showing a backyard with a ball and shoes.
Laura wanted a way to block her neighbour’s view to stop him creepily peeking into her garden

So her dad came up with the idea of making this ‘fence panel planter’, which Laura then stood in front of the fence to add some extra height
Facebook/Gardening Homemaking and Homesteading On A Budget

And after taking in some suggestions, Laura then enlisted the help of her parents, with her dad inventing a genius solution and building it himself.

“Not sure if anyone can remember me asking what I can do for privacy as next door reduced a fence panel so he can see in our home or possibly even perv,” she wrote in her post on the Gardening Homemaking and Homesteading On A Budget group.

“Well here is the finished project, just need some soil and plants in it.”

She posted snaps of the results alongside her post, showing that her dad had built what looked like another fence panel, with a wooden planter at the bottom, which stood in front of the short panel.

And as the new fence planter was the same height as the other panels that hadn’t been made shorter, it effectively blocked out any unwanted stares.

“I think my mum and dad did a good job building it ,” Laura added, calling them “very talented”.

People in the comments section were quick to weigh in, with one writing: “It’s a shame that we are inclined to think people are doing things for ulterior motives.

“We kept our fence low as we had an elderly lady next to us and she was happy to be able to see us.”

However, Laura hit back: “The people before us said that the fence was 6ft when they moved out and they did not talk to him over the fence.

“When they moved out, that’s when he lowered that one panel.

“The man over the road also told us this too.”

And others quickly praised Laura, and her parents, for implementing the effective, budget-friendly plan.

“Brilliant idea to stand this in front of the fence,” one wrote.

“Looks great and you now have your privacy that your neighbour can’t do anything about!

“Your dad did a great job. Functional and pretty!” another praised.

“Wow, what an obnoxious thing for him to do!” a third marvelled.

How to create privacy in your garden

CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:

1. Fencing

  • Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

2. Hedges and Plants

  • Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.

3. Outdoor Curtains

  • Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution.

4. Sound Barriers

  • A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern.

“Good solution! I would plant vines.”

“Looks really good,” someone else agreed.

“Can’t believe someone would do that!”

“I’d keep a diary of his movements plus put up some security cameras,” another suggested.

“How sad to have a neighbour like that!”

“We have CCTV all around the house,” Laura replied.

“We brought it off the old owners but unfortunately not sure how to work it yet.”

“It’s marvellous, I know how you feel I have a nosy Parker next to me,” someone else sighed.

“Great solution, now grow something that will be taller than the fence – that’ll stop the perv,” another wrote.
