Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano trilogy punch stats revealed with numbers proving how close epic fight was

KATIE TAYLOR beat Amanda Serrano yet again by the narrowest of margins.

The Irish icon took a split-decision in their 2022 classic and then won a unanimous last November in Texas.

Boxing match stats: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano.
Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 punch stats

This time around, it was a majority verdict back at New York’s Madison Square Garden where the rivalry began.

Final punch stats revealed by Netflix showed that both landed 70 punches each throughout the ten rounds.

Serrano threw 382 compared to Taylor’s 231 but the Irish icon landed 57 of her power shots while her great rival scored with 49.

In terms of jabs, Taylor threw 94 and landed with 13 compared to Serrano’s 217 thrown and 21 connecting.

The scorecards read 95-95 and 97-93 twice with Taylor closing out the rivalry in decisive fashion.

Taylor, 39, said: “I just want to thank Amanda Serrano as well, what an amazing fighter, we’ve made history here.

“I thought I boxed very smart, very well. She wasn’t catching me with much.

“It was obviously very, very close. Just thank God my hand was raised. I planned to come in here and be disciplined and smart.

“I executed the game plan very well. Total respect for Amanda, what a warrior. I love you all, I love my country. Thank you so much.”

Serrano, 36, said: “We tried something different, it was all about working smarter, not harder.

“I tried to keep my distance because apparently it didn’t worth the first two fights. So we tried to stick with the long punches and it just wasn’t enough.

“I don’t know, I have to go back and watch it. My team told me they think I won, I’m going to believe what they tell me.

“I was really trying to apply what they were telling me. I really want to support every single one of you for coming out and supporting me and women’s boxing.

“What an amazing night for all of us women. I’m crying at the support, thanks to all of you.

“Thank you Jake Paul, you’ve changed my life. Thank you Netflix for showcasing us warriors.

“Thank you Katie Taylor for an incredible 30 rounds, it’s been a true honour.”

What TV channel is Ireland vs Portugal on? Stream, kick-off time and odds for final summer Test

IRELAND interim boss Paul O’Connel’s side face Portugal in Lisbon for their final summer Test.

Following up from last week’s 35-5 victory against Georgia in Tbilisi, Ireland face Portugal in their second and final summer Test match.

Ireland and Portugal have never faced each other in a Test rugby game before.

Os Lobos were back to back runners-up in the Europe International Championships in 2023 and 2024 behind Georgia who have won 12 of the last 13 competitions.

An inexperienced side are lining up for Ireland with so many players selected by Andy Farrell to tour Australia with the British & Irish Lions.

O’Connell’s team will be hoping to back up the good team performance against Georgia and get another positive result.

Here is everything you need to know before watching the game:

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

The match kicks-off at 7pm Irish time on Saturday July 12 in the  Estádio Nacional do Jamor, Lisbon.

WHAT TV CHANNEL IS IRELAND VS PORTUGAL ON?

The Test is being shown live on Virgin Media One with coverage starting at 6:30pm for the 7pm kick-off.

It will also be available to stream live for free on the Virgin Media player.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

Despite losing key players to the Lions tour in Australia and handing out three debuts, Ireland are the extremely heavy favourites at 1/41 to win the match.

A Portugal home win is set at 50/1 and the odds of a draw are 200/1 with the handicap being set at 36 points in favour of O’Connell’s side.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID IN THE BUILD-UP?

O’Connell was forced to reshuffle his side after the team announcement due to Jamie Osborne’s call-up to the Lions Australian tour.

The Leinster centre was due to start but will now be replaced by Connacht’s Hugh Gavin to make his Ireland debut.

He is joined by two other debutants as club teammate Shayne Bolton and Munster’s Alex Kendellen have been selected to start the Test.

One of last week’s five debutants Tom Aherne earns his first start for Ireland replacing Cormac Izuchukwu to partner Darragh Murray.

Captain Craig Casey retains his place but he will be joined by a different half-back partner.

Jack Crowley has got the nod over Sam Prendergast despite the Leinster out-half’s “excellent” performance last week.

O’Connell said: “It’s a very important position, out-half, more important than it’s ever been.

“This is an opportunity for Jack to own the week, run it and get after it. The two of them are quite supportive of each other.

“It’s another opportunity to give Jack more experience. Sam was excellent last week.”

Thailand Weather Alert: Thunderstorms, Flash Floods Expected Across 48 Provinces Including Bangkok – July 2025

The skies over Thailand have been letting loose, and the country’s Meteorological Department (TMD) doesn’t want anyone caught without an umbrella or a lifeboat, for that matter. Today, they’ve thrown down a weather warning, heralding the arrival of thunderstorms and heavy rain drenching 48 provinces, including the bustling metropolis of Bangkok. But wait, it gets splashier: 15 provinces are under the magnifying glass for potential flash floods and runoff because, Mother Nature isn’t playing games. The cosmic mischief stems from a monsoon trough that’s got the upper northern and northeastern regions of Thailand on edge, not to mention a few neighbors like Laos and northern Vietnam. Just when you thought it couldn’t get stormier, a low-pressure system is rocking the upper northeastern region, all while the ever-strengthening southwest monsoon sweeps through the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and even the Gulf of Thailand. It’s like a meteorological orchestra with rainstorms as its…

Katie Taylor beats Amanda Serrano AGAIN on points to finally close out trilogy series for good

KATIE TAYLOR made it a hat-trick of victories over Amanda Serrano – closing the chapter of their iconic rivalry once and for all.

It was not the thrillers that came before it and did not live up to the action of the original and sequel.

Perhaps it never could.

But it was a more polished display of boxing between the two great rivals – who relied less on pure grit and ferocity.

As the fight went to the judges scorecards, for the third time in a row, no one could truly know what would follow.

But, after verdicts of 95-95 and 97-93 – twice – it was Taylor’s most decisive victory of all in the eyes of the judges ringside.

BBC star’s long lasting £4.99 plant from B&Q keeps your garden lush & green all summer – especially in dry shady areas

MOST horticultural enthusiasts will have heard of BBC Gardeners Question Time.

A comforting weekly panel show on the radio – it’s been running for 68 years – with a raft of experts answering audience questions.

Headshot of Matthew Wilson.
Garden Designed and GQT panellist Matthew Wilson will be at the RHS Garden Party
BBC Radio 4 Gardeners' Question Time panel discussion.
Gardening experts take questions at BBC Gardeners Question Time

Ahead of their Summer Garden party, they’ve shared the most popular five questions asked – so I asked Panelist and Garden Designer Matthew Wilson to give us his answers.

WHAT TREE HAS BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS, EDIBLE FRUIT, SEASONAL INTEREST, AUTUMN COLOUR, FAST GROWING, ENCOURAGES WILDLIFE AND IS CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENT?

Medlar Mesphalus Germanica, is hugely overlooked. It’s got fantastic bigger than average blossom, you can make Medlar jelly and it’s got really great autumn colour.

It’s a dome shaped tree, not massively tall, fast growing and great character in the trunk

Or Cydonia Chinesis – the Chinese Quince – is small but has a beautiful full blossom, yellow fruit for quince jelly, autumn colour and is good for wildlife. Both are resilient and climate change tolerant.

HOW DO I STOP SLUGS AND SNAILS:

Really the only guaranteed way is to use garlic barrier spray. It’s not harmful to animals but repugnant to mollusks and insects.

Smash garlic gloves and hot water together – or use dried garlic granules rehydrated in water. Spray at least once a month.

PLANTING SUGGESTIONS FOR A DRY SHADY BORDER

Modify expectations and be happy if it’s green. Ferns are brilliant – like our native shield fern, Polystichum, or Dryopteris or Erythgrosora.

Plant with some hybrid hellebores, bulbs, vinca and pachysandra – plant densely and it will be thick, green and lush – and really attractive.

B&Q are currently selling a collection of five fern – suitable for outdoor gardens – for £24.99 – which means each fern cost just £4.99.

WHY ISN’T MY PLANT FLOWERING?

Ninety nine times out of a hundred – it’s because it’s being pruned at the wrong time.

If it flowers early in the year, it’s flowering on the wood that it’s formed the previous year – so don’t prune until after it’s flowered.

If it flowering late in the year – it’s flowering on the current season’s wood – so prune it down hard in spring.

WHEN’S THE BEST TIME TO PRUNE CLEMATIS

If it flowers in winter or early spring, you don’t need to prune it at all. Aside from any tidying up that you might want to do.

If it’s early summer pruning – prune in late winter or early spring and cut back by half, and if it’s late summer pruning – cut it down to the ground.

BBC Radio 4’s annual Gardeners’ Question Time Summer Garden Party 2025 will be hosted at the iconic RHS Garden Hyde Hall in Essex on Saturday August 2, during the RHS Hyde Hall Flower Show.

Two bumper episodes of Gardeners’ Question Time will be recorded in front of a live audience where members of the public can join an expert panel for a host of horticultural discussions – at 12 pm and 2 pm. Both will air on BBC R4 in the following weeks.
