SWIMMING warnings have been issued for over 40 seaside hotspots in the UK this weekend.
Brits have been urged to refrain from swimming in locations across the country because of raised levels of bacteria.

Water quality at designated bathing sites in England is assessed by the Environment Agency.
Between May and September each year, they take samples to measure the water quality.
Annual ratings classify each site as excellent, good, sufficient, or poor based on measurements taken over a period of up to four years.
And at a number of sites, daily pollution risk forecasts are issued.
But with temperatures soaring over the weekend and people flocking to beaches, Brits have been urged to not bathe at over 40 sites across the country.

Poor water quality
A swathe of locations have been designated poor bathing water quality with advise urging people against getting into the waters.
For example, Heacham Beach has been classified as poor quality since 2021 by the Environment Agency, with high levels of pollution in the water.
The dirty waters have been credited to animal waste coming from seabirds – as much as 60 per cent – rather than sewage waste.
The bacteria levels are highest in July and August – the peak tourist season – although the reasons are still being discussed.
Suggestions include a lack of rainfall and an increase in tourism.
And experts have warned that it could never be safe to swim in again.
In addition, it’s been advised not to swim in Cullercoats Bay, Tyneside, after it failed to meet the minimum standards for water quality – so it’s best just to frolic on the sand for this one.
And just this week, the Environment Agency issued a stark warning at Hill Head beach, Hampshire, because of a sewage line burst.
Fareham Borough Council confirmed that bathing water from Hill Head to Lee-on-the-Solent has been closed due to “sewage pollution”.
But despite over 40 locations designated as unsafe to swim in, there are still hundreds of other spots across the country for you to dip your toes.

IT’S “shameful” that a bonfire topped with effigies of migrants in a boat was allowed to go ahead, Amnesty International has said.
There has been widespread condemnation from politicians and church leaders to the display on the bonfire in Moygashel, Co Tyrone, which was set alight on Thursday night.
The boat on top of the pyre contained more than a dozen life-sized mannequins wearing life jackets, while below it were placards saying “stop the boats” and “veterans before refugees”.
Amnesty International’s Northern Ireland director Patrick Corrigan said: “It is shameful that the authorities allowed this despicable display of hate to go ahead.
“What a shocking message to send to local migrant families.
“It is just weeks since migrant families were forced to flee for their lives when their homes were attacked and set on fire – a chilling pattern of escalating hostility.
“The authorities must treat this as a hate crime, conduct a full investigation and ensure those responsible are held to account.”
Mr Corrigan added: “Racism, xenophobia, and hate have no place here – and that must be made unmistakably clear.”
Police said on Thursday they had received a number of reports regarding the bonfire in Moygashel and the material on it.
A spokesperson said: “Police are investigating this hate incident.
“Police are here to help those who are or who feel vulnerable, to keep people safe.
“We do this by working with local communities, partners, elected representatives and other stakeholders to deliver local solutions to local problems, building confidence in policing and supporting a safe environment for people to live, work, visit and invest in Northern Ireland, but we can only do so within the legislative framework that exists.”
KNEECAP BANNER ON BONFIRE
A BANNER of Irish rap trio Kneecap was placed on a bonfire in Co Tyrone.
It came ahead of pyres being lit right across Northern Ireland last night.
The photo of the west Belfast band was cable tied to pallets at a bonfire in the Dungannon area of Co Tyrone. Slogans on it included ‘Kill your local Kneecap’, with a further line stating ‘The only good one is a dead one’.
The banner also included the sectarian acronym ‘KAT’, with ‘Death to Hamas’ and ‘Destroy all Irish Republicans’ also written on the banner.
The Co Tyrone bonfire was one of hundreds being lit across Northern Ireland last night ahead of the Orange Order’s July 12 parades today. Several bonfires have become the focus of controversy amid the placing of flags, effigies and posters on the structures before they are ignited.
Cops declined to help remove a contentious pyre in south Belfast due to be lit last night. Concerns have been raised over the loyalist bonfire at Meridi Street off the Donegall Road in the city which is on a site containing asbestos and is close to an electricity substation which powers two hospitals.
Belfast City Council had asked the PSNI to assist contractors to remove the towering structure. However, the PSNI refused, insisting that the risk was deemed “lower and more manageable” than intervention.
Stormont’s Environment Minister Andrew Muir had called for the contentious pyre not to be set alight, with the Alliance MLA adding: “I would plead with people to exercise caution and not to light this bonfire if they could.”
But the Grand Secretary of the Orange Order Rev Mervyn Gibson said people should “go and enjoy themselves” at the bonfire.
Sinn Fein MLA Colm Gildernew said the bonfire “was clearly intended to dehumanise people who come to our island seeking a better life”.
He added: “The effigies and displays were abhorrent, driven by vile, far-right and racist attitudes.
“I welcome that police are treating this as a hate incident. It’s vital those responsible are held accountable for their disgusting actions.
“Diversity, inclusion and equality must always triumph over xenophobia and hate.”
CONTENTIOUS DISPLAYS
The Moygashel bonfire has become well known in recent years for contentious displays.
Last year, a mock police car was burnt on the top of the bonfire and in 2023 a boat designed to represent the post-Brexit Irish Sea economic border was torched.
Earlier this week, prominent loyalist activist Jamie Bryson said the bonfire was a form of “artistic protest”.
He posted on X: “Every year Moygashel bonfire combines artistic protest with their cultural celebration.
“Their yearly art has itself become a tradition.
“This year the focus is on the scandal of mass illegal immigration.”

THIS is the shocking moment a furious passenger had a full-blown foot-stomping meltdown at airport staff before she was bundled away and arrested.
In a white T-shirt and yellow pants, the woman launched into a chaotic rage after her flight to New York was abruptly cancelled.

Footage shows her hurling her jumper to the floor, clenching her fists and screeching at cops at the Norse Atlantic Airways desk as fellow passengers watched in shock.
Erianne, a fellow passenger and model from Paris, said: “It was quite an intense reaction.”
Chaos kicked off on July 3 after passengers on flight N0301 from Charles de Gaulle to JFK were informed via email — just before midnight — that their flight had been cancelled due to technical issues.
“She was in a panic,” said Erianne.
“She said she was diabetic and needed her medication.
“But I don’t think she should have used such strong language.
“Especially because the people on the desk aren’t responsible.”
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner never took off, and no hotel was offered to those stranded.
As tensions soared, airline staff reportedly told passengers they would need to cancel their own bookings and find new flights or hotels themselves – sending many scrambling in the middle of the night.
“The prices were ridiculous,” said Erianne, who ended up shelling out £952 ($1,285) to get home with another airline.
She added: “They told us that we have to cancel this one on our own, then rebook another ticket from another airline, but the prices were ridiculous.
“After that, the people who couldn’t afford another flight were trying to find a hotel to sleep in.
“But because this happened during the night, that’s not the easiest thing to do.
“Some of them slept at the airport with their kids, including this woman.
“I still haven’t gotten a refund from my original flight, but I am emailing with them.”
Norse Atlantic’s next flight was also cancelled on July 4, and a third was delayed more than two hours the following day, according to flight tracking data.
Some families were left to sleep on the airport floor with their children.

Taj Taylor, 27, is accused of making the alarming comment less than an hour into an Allegiant Air flight from St. Pete-Clearwater Airport in Florida to Roanoke, Virginia, on Sunday.
According to an arrest report from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor, seated in the last row, allegedly told another traveler that his laptop was an explosive — prompting the shocked passenger to snatch it away.
Six people on the Airbus A320, which was carrying 177 passengers and six crew members, reportedly heard the remark.
The pilot turned the plane around, landing back in Florida just 40 minutes after takeoff—well short of the typical two-hour flight to Roanoke. Law enforcement met the plane on the tarmac and arrested Taylor on the spot.
A full search of his belongings revealed no explosives.
Taylor, when questioned by authorities, claimed he had experienced a “lack of clarity,” according to an FBI report seen by USA Today.
He strongly denied making any bomb threats.
Taylor appeared in court on Monday, facing charges of conveying false information and threats.
If convicted, he could face a fine of up to $25,000 and a prison term of up to five years.

OASIS legend Noel Gallagher and his model daughter Anais headed to the band’s long-anticipated homecoming concert in Manchester.
Anais, who is Noel’s oldest daughter and credited with helping the Oasis reunion happen left the Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester with her famous dad who was mobbed by eager fans.

Noel, 58, buried the hatchet with brother Liam, 52, to bring the iconic band back together and are performing the first of five shows asOasistonight in Manchester’s Heaton Park.
The rocker stopped to sign autographs for adoring fans before heading to the stadium for the hotly anticipated gig.
Noel and Liam kicked off their huge, sold-out 41 date reunion tour last week in Cardiff.
They played two consecutive nights at the Principality Stadium and will now perform five homecoming shows in Manchester.
The 23-song set list remains unchanged and Oasis will be on stage tonight at 8:15pm, with support from Cast at 6pm and Richard Ashcroft from 7pm.
Such is the anticipation for the brothers’ homecoming gigs, that they’ve had to hire around the clock security for their mum, Peggy.
They took the measures in a bid to protect Peggy, 82, after overzealous fans started turning up at her house.
A source said: “Noel and Liam are devoted to their mum Peggy and they knew there would be a lot of interest in her after Oasis reunited.
“They wanted her to keep being able to live a quiet life and there have been fans coming to the house.
“They have employed a security firm to keep an eye on her and make sure she isn’t hassled.”
As a child she was mainly kept out of the spotlight by her famous parents.
However, since her teens she has become a successful model and enjoys socialising with people like Rocco Ritchie and Brooklyn Beckham.
She was revealed as the gutsy go-between who has seemingly pulled off what years of fan pleading and big-money offers failed to do, by getting her dad and uncle to reconcile and bring Oasis back together.
Anais’ modelling work has seen her land contracts with top brands, which includes Reebok and Dolce & Gabbana,.
The kind-hearted star also works with charities like animal rehab centre C.A.R.E.
