‘Made it to Disneyland just in time for the European heatwave’ jokes Peter O’Mahony’s wife in sizzling photos

JESSICA O’Mahony joked she’d “Made it to Disneyland just in time for the European heatwave” in a series of scorching shots.

Rugby legend husband Peter doesn’t appear to have joined her and their three children in jetting off to Paris which isn’t surprising given he played in South Africa on Saturday.

France isn’t the only holiday destination for Irish people to have been placed an urgent weather warning this week.

The widespread alert comes as weather expert Alan O’Reily from Carlow Weather revealed that the majority of the European countries are suffering “real heat” as Ireland and most of the United Kingdom miss out on it.

Taking to social media, he said: “Mild and humid here but we are just missing out the real heat as the temperatures at 5pm Saturday across Europe show with over 40c inland in parts of Spain.”

The map also shows that Italy has reached up to a whopping 36 degrees, while Portugal saw 39 degrees, and France ranged from 20 to 37 degrees.

The majority of European countries experienced hot temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees, with Scandinavia ranging from 15 to 24 degrees.

While the temperatures reach a high of 15 to 20 degrees in Ireland, the southern region of the United Kingdom suffers temperatures between 24 and 30 degrees.

However, the heat wave conditions are expected to worsen.

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, issued an urgent warning for the country over the major heat wave, which is set to last until Tuesday, July 1.

They revealed that the heat wave originated from the African continent and has extended across their territory, which will lead to a “gradual increase in temperature”.

They added: “This increase will be reinforced by the arrival of a warm, dry mass of Saharan origin across the western peninsula, bringing some haze beginning Sunday afternoon.

“As a result, very high and persistent temperatures are expected, both during the day and at night, which could pose a risk to exposed and/or vulnerable people.”

Today, the temperatures are expected to exceed 38 degrees across the southwest region, across the northern plateau, the eastern part of the southern plateau and the Jucar and Segura valleys.

And temperatures may reach between 40 and 42 degrees in the Guadalquivir, Genil, Guadiana, Tajo, and Ebro valleys.

The warning includes popular sunshine spots in Marbella, Malaga, Sevilla, the Canary Islands, Ibiza and Palma.

WARNINGS FOR PORTUGAL, FRANCE & ITALY

Several warnings have also been issued separately for Portugal, France, and Italy due to the ongoing heat wave, with advice and tips for following.

Portugal urged people to stay in cool or air-conditioned environments for at least two to three hours a day, avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during midday when it’s at its peak.

Using sunscreen with a factor of 30 or higher is recommended; ensure to reapply it every two hours and after swimming at the beach or pool.

France is expected to reach 35 to 38 degrees locally and up to 39 degrees inland, making the nights even more unsettled.

A severe weather alert has been issued for everyone due to the potential heat stroke.

Elderly people, people who regularly take medicine, those suffering from chronic diseases or those with mental health troubles are at risk.

People are urged to drink water several times a day and continue to eat normally; they are also encouraged to stay indoors during the hottest hours and stay cool in an air-conditioned place for 2-3 hours a day.

Italy issued a major red alert for 21 cities this weekend, including the capital, Rome, and popular cities such as Milan and Venice.

People are also advised not to go outdoors between 11am and 6pm and seek shelter in air-conditioned public places.

In Venice, the temperatures have hit a whopping 31 degrees but have been reported to feel 35 degrees due to the humidity.

Katy, 40 is currently on her world tour, and has put on a brave face despite her ongoing separation from Orlando.

It was revealed last week how the A-list couple had parted ways after nine-years together.

But while he headed off to Jeff Bezos‘ wedding in Italy, Katy has remained on tour.

As she brought her final show in Australia to a close she began to well up.

Making a heart with her fingers, Katy’s voice started to crack as she addressed the crowd.

“Thank you Australia for always being there for me,” she said, clearly fighting back tears.

Meanwhile, Katy’s ex-Orlando took to Instagram to share a series of cryptic posts.

Hinting at his life taking a new direction, one read: “Each day is a new beginning.

“What we do today is what matters most.”

While the other also talked about change, and said: “The important thing is to take the first step.

“Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.”

ORLANDO SPLIT

It’s been an emotional week for both Katy and Orlando.

Last week, The Sun reported how the star couple held crisis talks to try to save their relationship after leading increasingly separate lives.

An insider said: “No one has decided it’s definitely the end of the road for Katy and Orlando.

“They both love each other, but they have been living different lives for at least a year and in different mindsets.”

The insider added: “They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months.”

Just days after news of their break-up broke, Orlando “made his debut as a single man” at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding.

At the three-day celebration he was seen embracing Kim Kardashian and chatting to Sydney Sweeney.

Katy and Orlando started dating in 2016 and got engaged three years later.

Heartache as Irish backpacker, 29, killed in horror crash in Bolivia as GAA club pay tragic tribute to ‘positive person’

TRIBUTES have poured in for a young Irish backpacker who died in a horror crash in Bolivia last Friday.

Oisin Hoy, 29, from Clontarf in Co Dublin, was part of a group of seven people travelling the salt flats by Toyota Landcruiser.

It is understood the vehicle flipped onto the side and travelled 40 metres before coming to a stop

Oisin was seriously injured in the crash and died on route to the nearby the city of Potosi for medical attention.

The 29-year-old is survived by his parents Kevin and Mary and siblings Peter, Niamh and Caoimhe.

The Hoy family are active members of their local GAA club with Kevin currently vice-chair and Mary an active member of the committee.

Oisin’s siblings have all played sport with Clontarf GAA and Oisin had also been a “long-standing member” of the club.

Posting an emotional tribute to the young Dublin man the club said they were in “deep shock” after his sudden death.

Sharing a photo of Oisin alongside his loving parents they said: “It was with a sense of deep shock that we learned of the tragic and all too early death of Oisin Hoy, son of Kevin and Mary.

“The Hoys are a real club family: Kevin is currently vice-chair and Mary is an active committee member in the club and Oisin’s brother and sisters, Peter, Niamh and Caoimhe have all played for Clontarf.

“Oisin was a long standing member of the club having played all the way through the juvenile ranks in hurling and football and into the world of adult football.

“He is remembered by all who played with him or coached him as a hugely positive person. He always presented with a smile and made a significant contribution to any team he played with.”

The club continued: “His trademark smile is pictured here with Mary and Kevin after completing the Barcelona marathon on his birthday on 16th March, still representing the club after all these years!

“Oisin, however, was more than a footballer. He was an inveterate traveller with a deep interest in other countries, cultures and, above all, in people.

‘SO CRUELLY TAKEN’

“This interest in travelling took him to all arts and parts of the world in recent years, most recently to South America. It was there, in Bolivia, that the fatal car crash occurred.

“There is little that we can say to Kevin, Mary and the rest of the Hoy family at this tragic time other than to note that we will always remember Oisin as one who brought joy, warmth and happiness to any conversation.”

Further tributes have poured in for Oisin, who has been remembered as a friendly and always smiling person.

One mourner said: “He was a wonderful young man always so friendly and smiley.”

Another wrote: “He was an amazing young man so cruelly taken from you.”

And another person simply added: “Heartbroken”.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is aware of the case.

They said: “The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.”

Funeral details have yet to be announced for Oisin.

I took my grey fence back to its natural shade using a £13 buy & it took 15 minutes, I can’t believe how good it looks

WITH the summer season officially here, millions of us will be spending more time in the garden.

Whether that’s cooking up a feast or taking a dip in the paddling pool, the warmer months are all about being outside and enjoying the glorious sunshine.

One homeowner, from Bath, shared how an affordable Wickes buy totally transformed her grubby fence[/caption]

The special bargain find cost her just £13 and comes in a 1l bottle[/caption]

But there’s nothing worse than inviting guests over and realising at the very last minute that your fence could do with some serious TLC.

However, there’s an easy way to give your old wooden fence an epic makeover without forking out a fortune – and it takes just 15 minutes.

Taking to TikTok, one homeowner, only known as Lydia, revealed how she spruced up her old fence on the cheap thanks to a wallet-friendly Wickes buy.

Raving about the bargain find, Lydia, from Bath, said: ”I have finally found a product that takes your old grey fence and turns it into a genuine wood colour.”

Retailing for just £13, Barrettine Wood Reviver rapidly rapid renovates wood that’s been damaged by the harsh UV rays over time.

The affordable garden buy will brings back fresh wood colour in just minutes, leaving it ready to coat with a protective finish, the description online reads.

Great for sheds, fences, decking and garden furniture, the wood reviver contains bio-degradable organic acid.

According to Wickes, 1l of the product is enough to cover 4 m2 – so if your fence is slightly larger, you may wish to snap up more than one bottle.

When purchasing the product, you will also need to ensure you have brushes for the application process.

”The first thing you have to do is wet your fence with water. It says not to use pressure washer to clean the wood prior to application,” Lydia said in the video where she demonstrated the process.

When applying the white liquid, the proud homeowner made sure she got the product on the edges of the panels too.

Once done, Lydia then set the timer for 15 minutes.

”It said to rub the area with a dampened non-metal brush. I washed it all off, let it dry and oh my goodness, look how nice this is.”

The once grey and weathered fence now looked brand new, boasting a stunning wooden colour that’s sure to make your neighbours envious.

How to get algae off fences

ABS Fencing shared a list of do’s and don’ts when it comes to cleaning green algae off your fence.

  • Don’t use household mould or mildew remover sprays as these are generally intended for use on hard surfaces indoor.
  • Don’t use bleach in the garden, it kills a lot more than the mould.
  • Don’t try sanding back the top surface of the wood, as algae will just regrow back.
  • Don’t bother with power hosing – that only opens up the timber grain and allows more water inside, making the problem worse down the line.
  • Do use white vinegar mixed with hot water in a spray bottle and work it in with a brush, leave for 30 mins or more, then hose down.
  • Do repaint when dry with good quality fence paint.

”If I was your Wickes, I would increase your stock levels of this – because it is incredible, I am telling everyone.”

Uploaded just one day ago under the username @life_at_lydias, the jaw-dropping makeover has already taken the internet by storm.

In just 24 hours, the clip has one Lydia an impressive 122k views, close to 1,400 likes, with dozens flooding to comments.

One fan said: ”Looks loads better than painted.”

Someone else reminded: ”Don’t forget to put uv protection coat otherwise you will need to clean it like this every year.”

Even the mega retailer chimed in, commenting: ”Obsessed with the end result.”

Another said: ”Great job! Looks fab. I’ve found creocote light brown is a decent product. £14 for 4 litres.

”Doesn’t flake as it’s not paint, makes the grain pop. Gives it that natural look last for a few years.”

The former glamour model, 47, said she was in agony after the surgery[/caption]

Katie‘s trip to the UAE came after her wild boozy Ibiza getaway.

The 47-year-old chose a crisp white floral bikini top and nude high-rise bikini bottoms which she pulled high on her hip.

The swimwear flashed her array of stomach tattoos and her golden tan, with the mum-of-five accessorising with gold bracelets and chain necklaces.

She left her dark locks flowing in a straight style over her shoulders and kept her make-up simple.

Katie stood on the deck of a boat to pose for her new snaps, allowing the sea breeze to brush her hair off her face and showcase her new £10K facelift

Yet after a few images showed her face-on towards the front of the boat, the surgery-loving star twirled to one side to give a glimpse of her filler-filled booty.

She then turned around fully to showcase her peachy derriere fully.

Katie previously joked she was “captain Pricey” on board the boat alongside a separate selection of snaps, which sparked concern over her weight loss.

SURGERY AGONY

Katie previously admitted that her botched Brazilian butt lift left her in agony.

The Page 3 icon even swore off having surgery in the UK for good.

Speaking on Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything podcast recently, Katie was asked whether there was a procedure she regretted.

“The bum,” she replied, adding, “I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum.

“It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me.”

When asked where she had it done, Katie revealed it was in Turkey – and despite the bad experience, she’s still a big fan of going overseas for ops.

Katie Price's Surgery: A Timeline

1998 – Katie underwent her first breast augmentation taking her from a natural B cup to a C cup. She also had her first liposuction

1999 – Katie had two more boob jobs in the same year, one taking her from a C cup to a D cup, and then up to an F cup

2006 – Katie went under the knife to take her breasts up to a G cup

2007 – Katie had a rhinoplasty and veneers on her teeth

2008 – Katie stunned fans by reducing her breasts from an F cup to a C cup

2011 – Going back to an F cup, Katie also underwent body-contouring treatment and cheek and lip fillers

2014/5 – Following a nasty infection, Katie had her breast implants removed

2016 – Opting for bigger breasts yet again, Katie had another set of implants, along with implants, Botox and lip fillers

2017 – After a disastrous ‘threading’ facelift, Katie also had her veneers replaced. She also had her eighth boob job taking her to a GG cup

2018 – Katie went under the knife yet again for a facelift

2019 – After jetting to Turkey, Katie had a face, eye and eyelid lift, Brazilian bum lift and a tummy tuck

2020 – Katie has her 12th boob job in Belgium to correct botched surgery and a new set of veneers

2021 –  In a complete body overhaul, she opts for eye and lip lifts, liposuction under her chin, fat injected into her bum and full body liposuction

2022 – Katie undergoes another brow and eye lift-and undergoes ‘biggest ever’ boob job in Belgium, her 16th in total

2023 – Opting for a second rhinoplasty, Katie also gets a lip lift at the same time as well as new lip filler throughout the year

2024 – Katie has her 17th boob job in Brussels after revealing she wanted to downsize. She performed at Dublin Pride just days later and surgeons warned the lack of recovery posed a risk of infection

She said: “I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever. I’d always have it abroad.”

Recently, Katie took to  Instagram to share a video where she revealed that she was back at a clinic and about to have another procedure.

She told fans she was having another cosmetic procedure, which was some fresh filler added to her bottom after the botched BBL.

Katie said: “So the bum is done! Here’s a little sneaky, beaky, boopky,” as she showed off the results of the injections.

Douglas James-Taylor looking forward to being ‘on other side of possession’ following his move to Bohemians

BOHEMIANS have confirmed the signing of Douglas James-Taylor with the striker joking he was looking forward to having the ball at Dalymount Park.

But the loss of the striker is another major blow for Drogheda United.

The former Stoke City, Salford and Walsall forward joins Bohs on a multi-year contract
1 July 2025; Bohemians new signing Douglas James-Taylor poses for a portrait during his announcement at Dalymount Park in Dublin. Photo by Ramsey Cardy/Sportsfile
The 23 year-old has scored two goals in 13 games for Drogheda this season

It follows their exclusion from the Europa Conference League because of Uefa’s rules banning clubs with the same owners from participating in the same competition.

Drogheda boss Kevin Doherty had said last month – ironically after his side had beaten Bohs – that he was confident that he would be able to hold onto the forward

He had been on loan from sister club Walsall, where his contract ended yesterday.

It is understood that is because the clubs’ owners, the Trivela Group, were of the belief that there would be significant compensation involved if the striker was to join a club outside Ireland on a permanent basis.

That would have left Drogheda in pole position to sign him by an arrangement whereby either the compensation was waived for the Boynesiders or he signed a new deal with Walsall and was loaned out once more.

However, despite offering James-Taylor new terms, Walsall had no hold on the player who turned 23 in November meaning Bohs were able to sign him on a free transfer.

It means Drogheda have lost their star striker to one of its rivals for a place in Europe next season whilst there is also considerable cross-channel interest in another forward player, Warren Davis.

For James-Taylor – who scored 15 goals in 35 games for Drogheda, including one in their FAI Cup final win over Derry City – he is looking forward to linking up with Bohs.

Drogheda are experts at getting results despite not having much of the ball and when asked about what he was most looking forward to about playing for Bohs.

He said: “Maybe being on the other side of the possession!

“It’s always a tough game against Bohs. They move the ball really well. They’re fit lads and I think it’s a good fit.

“I was nearing the end of my contract and a few clubs started speaking to my agents and Bohs stood out. It was just a massive opportunity for me to play for this club.”

And he revealed he had also spoken to Ross Tierney before making his decision.

He said: “I knew Ross from Walsall and he spoke really highly of the club.

“I know from being here for a year how big of a club this is, how much representation they have for Irish people.”

More movement is expected at Bohs during the window.

St Pat’s full-back Anto Breslin has been linked with a return whilst Grimsby Town are said to be keen on James Clarke, who scored an injury-time equaliser against Sligo Rovers on Friday.

On Monday, James McManus joined the Bit O’ Red on loan with Cian Byrne returning from his stint with Galway United helping to fill the void left by Sean Grehan who signed for Doncaster Rovers after impressing for Bohs on loan from Crystal Palace.

Moment carer throws dementia-stricken man, 88, around ‘like a rag doll’ & threatens to ‘beat him up’ before his death

This is the shocking moment a carer “violently degrades” a frail elderly man with dementia just days before he died.

Cruel Bilikesu Olagunju, 42, was caught on CCTV manhandling the pensioner like a “rag doll” in his own home in Bexley, Kent.

Disturbing footage, captured on Christmas Eve in 2022, shows 88-year-old John Attard being stripped naked and dragged across his living room floor during a horrifying 45 minute visit.

Woolwich Crown Court heard Olagunju, who was employed by Unique Personnel (Ltd) UK at the time, threatened to beat John up and ignored him as he repeatedly told her she was “hurting” him.

At one point she tells him: “Maybe I will beat you up. I will flog you.

“I will take you to the GP to get injections. I will call the police on you.”

The following day, Mr Attard was found unresponsive – with blood dripping down the side of his face.

The pensioner was rushed to hospital, where he remained unresponsive, and tragically died ten days after the incident.

The horrific ordeal – that his family say he never recovered from – was captured on a camera set up by the great grandfather’s son, Chris.

She goes on to taunt Mr Attard in the footage by pouring marmalade into his coffee despite knowing he was diabetic and threatening to ‘flog’ him – a slang term for ‘beating him up.’

Chris told he was horrified by how visibly distressed his dad looked throughout the ordeal and described his face as “distorted” as he was being “manhandled.”

Chris said: “She is physically trying to lift him like a rag doll. His face indicates the discomfort and pain he is feeling.

“She lifts him off the floor, dragging him toward his armchair. He tells her ‘my head is banging’.”

The carer is repeatedly told by John throughout: “You are hurting me”.

The court also heard a breakdown of the footage, that starts when Olagunju arrives at 11.20am with the job of washing him and making him some breakfast.

After shouting at him to stand, he slips on the floor and as she struggles to dress him, she is seen stripping him naked in front of a window in full view of the street.

The carer is also seen dragging him by the arm and scruff of his collar across the floor and “yanking” him up, causing him “great distress”.

At one point, the defendant is heard calling her employer to explain that John was on the floor.

She was advised not to touch him and to call an ambulance.

The defendant ignores this request, and instead continued to yank John up herself while complaining “a man” should have been sent to do the job.

Olagunju is shown making breakfast as she continues to threaten violence.

She picks up a plastic marmalade sachet and squeezes its entire contents into his coffee.

John’s table is then pulled away from him, making it hard for him to reach any of the food and spilling hot coffee on him in the process.

As she leaves the house, she tells him, “Bye, I will report you to the police”.

During Olagunju’s sentencing, Prosecutor James Benson said her conduct towards Mr Attard had taken multiple forms including “rough handling, verbal aggression, and degrading treatment.”

Chris said the the following day, Christmas morning, he found his father unresponsive with blood on his lips.

He added: “I called 999 for an ambulance.

“My wife and I were distraught at his condition and felt the carer’s actions were solely responsible for this.

“The autopsy could not conclusively prove the carer was responsible.

“But the autopsy showed he had bruising on the left side of his chest.”

During the sentencing hearing, Mr Benson described her actions as “brusque, inappropriate, and uncaring” and said she “played on her victim’s vulnerability”.

Woolwich Crown Court also heard a victim impact statement from Chris, who broke down in tears.

He added: “It was Christmas morning when I found my 88-year-old father unresponsive in bed.

“He was rushed to hospital and his room was declared a crime scene.

“This was the morning after he was physically and verbally assaulted by the very person entrusted to care for him.

“Three days after he was admitted to hospital I wrote a victim impact statement. My last words read: ‘I am yet to discover the long-term effect this may have on my dad, and his physical and mental welfare’.

“Well, now I know – he never recovered and died seven days later in hospital.

“An autopsy could not link your actions to his death – but I feel personally that your actions contributed to his sudden death”.

Addressing Olagunju, Chris continued: “When all of this becomes a distant memory for you, our pain will still be here.

“You can never ever take back the memories you left my father with at the end of his life, and the memories you have now left us with, for the rest of our lives.

“If you find it hard to understand how I feel, then just imagine it was me assaulting your loved one on that CCTV.

“Imagine I’m the one standing where you are now – what sentence would you like this court to give me?”

“For a very long time I was unable to get a full night’s sleep due to dissecting the CCTV over-and-over again in my head.

“I constantly thought about the fear he must have felt – the indignity of being dragged around and then yanked up off the floor and unceremoniously thrown back onto his chair.

“That must have been very distressing for him.”

Chris described his father, who had five children, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as “kind-hearted, generous, compassionate, and funny”.

“He was still enjoying what life he had left,” Chris added.

John was her first assignment as a care worker in the UK.

During sentencing, Judge Charlotte Welsh told her: “Frankly it beggars belief that someone would be allocated an elderly man with dementia as their first client.

“Being a carer is a very, very difficult job and frankly people don’t appreciate it until they need it.

“I am convinced that you had not received the sufficient training.”

“Your actions are evident of your failure to treat Mr Attard as a person deserving of as much dignity and respect as the rest of us.

“I accept that there was no malicious intent to your actions and you show genuine remorse. But none of this will help Mr Attard’s family.

“They have lost a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and their memories of him are now tainted by what they have seen on the CCTV footage – and the way you behaved towards him.”

Olagunju’s defence barrister Mr Tijani said she accepted full responsibility for her conduct and was “ashamed” of how she had acted.

He continued: “She accepts that she failed in her duty as a carer.

“She has been suffering from mental anguish as a result of this incident and has instructed me to tell the family she is very sorry.”

In mitigation, Mr Tijani said Olagunju had no previous convictions and that Mr Attard had been her first patient, after arriving in the UK from abroad to be a carer.

“On the CCTV, you can see a woman who was not trained properly to deal with the situation she was faced with,” Mr Tijani added.

Olagunju pleaded guilty to one count of ill-treating or willfully neglecting an individual whilst acting as a care worker.

She was given a six week sentence, suspended for 18 months, along with 50 hours unpaid work, at Woolwich Crown Court.

Speaking after the hearing, Chris, who blasted the lenient sentence as an “insult”.

He fumed: “If those cameras had not been there, that person could still be out there treating elderly people like this.

“I was expecting a suspended sentence but the length and community service aspect is an insult.

“What kind of a deterrent is that?”

He added: “From now on that woman is out of my head, and my mission is to expose this company – Unique Personnel.

“They should have been in the dock alongside [Olagunju].

“Had they done their due diligence she never would have been sent near an elderly person.

“This is a care company sending people to the homes of elderly and vulnerable people and putting them at risk of harm.

“I want to speak about that so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.”

“They tried to excuse it by saying she had only been there six days. But where were the checks and the training?”

Unique Personnel has been contacted for comment.
