No matter whether its the hottest opening day on record, like yesterday, or even rainier than the wettest in 1906, the world’s most famous faces won’t be put off arriving in style to watch some top tier tennis.

Despite expense being no object for some of Wimbledon‘s most prestigious guests, there are some hidden areas close to Centre Court that money-can’t-buy.

On day one of the competition, I found myself with a golden ticket into the extremely sought-after hydrangea building where stars enjoy a delicious lunch to set them up for an exciting day of tennis.

It was there in evian‘s Mountain of Youth VIP suite where famous faces including Jessica Alba, Chris O’Dowd, Frankie Bridge, Rachel Stevens, Rochelle and Marvin Humes, Sam Thompson and Jamie Campbell Bower were hosted by the official water of The Championships on day one.

The spectacular invitation from the Wimbledon sponsor also guaranteed Centre Court tickets to see the likes of Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz play.

The VIP access ensures you dodge any queues and offers limitless champagne and Pimm’s inside the suite, as well as afternoon tea and plenty of strawberries and cream.

With temperatures topping 32.3C, stars cooled down in the ai-conditioned suite as they made the most of the private balcony over-looking the outskirts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

In between matches, celebs could take advantage of the pink-themed VIP area’s ping pong table.

There were also screens to watch the tennis from indoors so you didn’t miss a moment of action.

But of course, being out on court is the place to be – with stars themselves even becoming star-struck when they see the who’s who in the Royal Box.

A stone’s throw from our fantastic seats were sport legends David Beckham and Gareth Southgate.

Fans were quick to spot Hollywood actress Jessica in the grounds as she enjoyed a day out at Wimbledon with her lookalike daughter Honor, 17.

Donning a £65 Polo Ralph Lauren cap purchased by the on-site tennis shop, 43-year-old Jessica watched Alcaraz’s five-set win over Fabio Fognini on centre court.

“Had a blast at Wimbledon with my sweet girl,” she posted from inside the evian suite.

The space, inspired by evian‘s Live Young philosophy, aims to inspire attendees to reduce plastic packaging waste at The Championships.

There’s a new refill and reuse initiative across the grounds, encouraging more than 500,000 guests to use evian’s new recyclable bottle – designed specifically for Wimbledon 2025.

Day two guests Daniel Ricciardo, Molly-Mae Hague, Clara Amfo, Mat Horne and Rafferty Law were spotted staying cool and hydrated in the summer heat by making the most of the official water of the championships, which is in its 17th year at Wimbledon.

A POPULAR beauty brand is set to open a new store in the capital tomorrow – and some lucky shoppers can nab a free goodie bag. 

KIKO Milano, the globally renowned Italian cosmetics brand, will open a new shop on Dublin’s iconic Grafton Street.

The first 100 shoppers will receive a special goodie bag of products.

The new store will bring KIKO’s trendsetting, high-quality makeup, skincare, and beauty products to even more beauty enthusiasts in the heart of the city centre. 

Since launching in Ireland with its flagship Henry Street store in October 2024, followed by the opening of a second location in Blanchardstown Centre, KIKO Milano has quickly captured the attention of Irish beauty lovers.

Meanwhile, Lidl Ireland opened a new store in Galway recently in a major boost for shoppers.

Located in Claregalway, this is the retailer’s 100th store to feature a solar PV system that will generate more than 20 per cent of the building’s energy requirements.

This takes Lidl Ireland’s number of stores in Galway to 11.

And it is set to create 30 new jobs in the local area in a boost to residents.

It represents a €7million investment into the community by the retailer, and is located right in the centre of the village.

EASTENDERS actress Clair Norris has broken her silence on her soap exit.

The star has played the role of Bernadette Taylor in the BBC soap opera for eight years but her final scenes are now playing out today.

It marks the end of an era for the Walford-based soap, as her exit brings an end to the Taylor family, with all characters from the show having left or been axed by show bosses.

Actress Clair has now shared a heartfelt message about her time on the show as she bids farewell to Albert Square.

Taking to social media, the star penned: “My last ep airs tonight
& with that comes a flood of memories…

“EastEnders was my first audition, and my first job.

“Having come from college & having no experience in this industry, Julia, Wayne & Sean all took a chance on me to play Bernadette Taylor & for that, I can’t be thankful enough.

“8 years later and honestly this job, has changed my life.”

Clair continued: “It’s true what they all said at the beginning, EastEnders is one big family & I’m so lucky to have met and worked with some amazing people.

“I will always have an attachment to Bernie, she represents so many girls out there who wear their heart of their sleeves and don’t quite fit in…no offence to anyone who wear purple coats…

“I have adored playing her and she will forever hold a special place in my heart.

“This has been the best first role ever!!!”

Bernie departed on-screen alongside her cousin Felix Baker.

A DISTURBING epidemic is sweeping through Germany with hundreds of people reporting sexual assaults in public swimming pools.

In one of the worst hit regions, 74 alleged attacks have been recorded recently with several involving children – including eight young girls in one day.

Just last weekend, four men were arrested over sexual assault claims at the Barbarossabad swimming pool in Hesse[/caption]

The issue has started to raise questions across Germany after a concerning number of reports were made last weekend.

Cops arrested four Syrian suspects, aged 18 to 28, and accused them of sexually assaulting up to eight girls in a public swimming pool in Hesse.

They were aged between 11 to 16 and had all been at the Barbarossabad pool on the same day. 

And now further stats have shown a total of 74 cases of sexual violence were registered in Hesse’s swimming pools alone in 2024.

The study, done by the State Criminal Police Office (LKA), marks a worrying trend in the region with the number rising from 2023.

It also provided an insight into the main culprits of the alleged assaults.

In 60 per cent of cases, the suspects were not born in Germany.

And out of the 57 people questioned by cops over the allegations, only two were women.

Hesse’s Interior Minister Roman Poseck has made it clear that any formal complaint must be taken seriously so any recurring fiends can be taken off the streets.

He demanded: “The incidents at the swimming pool in Gelnhausen must be investigated swiftly and comprehensively.

“We must not allow our swimming pools to become sites of sexual assault.”

Elsewhere, Cologne has been forced to put up makeshift posters raising awareness of potential poolside dangers.

The sign shows a blonde man grabbing a young woman from behind as they both swim.

The heading reads: “Stop! No groping!”

There are said to be dozens of the posters spread across the city.

Despite the concerning national rise, German police are refusing to say swimming pools have become a hotspot for sexual crimes.

But Peter Harzheim, the president of the Federal Association of German Swimming Masters (BDS), says the numbers are worrying.

He said: “Many people are getting out of control because the sun is shining on their brains.

“The number of skilled workers is decreasing, which creates the risk that we will no longer be able to keep an eye on everything and intervene accordingly.”

The issue has been a long-standing one for many Germans.

Back in 2016, a town banned male asylum seekers from a public swimming pool after several women complained of harassment.

A government official in Bornheim said the men would be barred until they “got the message” that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
