Fleabag star Andrew later discovered he had a kidney stone after leaving the prestigious awards early to be taken to hospital.
Opening up about his medical emergency on the SAG red carpet last night, Andrew said: “I was beside Phoebe [Waller-Bridge] andLaura Dernhad just won best supporting actress and we were standing up.
“I don’t know if anyone has ever experienced having a kidney stone before, but it sends you, the pain is so immediate.”
Scott said by the time Laura finished her acceptance speech for her 2019 movie Marriage Story, he was already ripping off his tux.
He continued to Variety: “I was in the back [of the room]…writhing around in agony.
Despite his co-star Waller-Bridge behind on hand to help run water to him, the star was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Luckily for Andrew, the moment was not caught on camera.
When asked what happened next, Scott joked: “That’s too much. People don’t need to know about that. It was grisly.”
Scott was nominated for his Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for his role in Netflix’s Ripley.
He faced tough competition with Javier Bardem, Colin Farrell,Richard Gadd, and Kevin Kline in the same category – with Colin winning for his performance in The Penguin.
What are the symptoms of kidney stones?
Severe pain in the side and back, below the ribs
Pain that radiates to the lower abdomen and groin
Pain that comes in waves and fluctuates in intensity
The Netflix production is based off Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Set in the 1960’s, the eight-part series follows the journey of con-man Tom (Andrew) who is sent on a gripping journey across Europe.
This is the first adaptation of the popular crime tale since Matt Damon previously starred the classic 1999 movie.

LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher branded Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand a “clown” amid a heated row following the former’s comments regarding the Africa Cup of Nations.
Carragher, 47, spoke on Sky Sports after his former team’s 2-0 win at Manchester City and suggested playing at Afcon worked against the Reds star Mohamed Salah’s case of being recognised as the best.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher landed in hot water over comments regarding the Africa Cup of NationsCarragher suggested Afcon doesn’t help Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s claim for the Ballon d’OrGettyCarragher branded Rio Ferdinand a ‘clown’ after he criticised his Afcon commentsRex
The legendary centre-back hinted that the Egypt international is at a disadvantage compared to Real Madrid superstars and Ballon d’Or rivals Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Carragher said on Sky Sports: “I think the problem [is] the fact he’s with Egypt, and he’s probably not playing in the major tournament as such or maybe got a great chance of winning, I think it’s either the Champions League or the major tournament [that influences who wins the Ballon d’Or].
“Normally, the player who excels in that, like Vini Jr and Mbappe right now, Real Madrid looking really good going for the Champions League.
“Liverpool will be in that conversation, but right now [Real] is certainly the front runner.”
Richards said: “Just to say, AFCON is a major tournament because a lot of people are at home saying, ‘They aren’t taking it seriously’. AFCON is a major tournament, just so you know.”
Carragher asked the Man City hero if he thought Egypt had a chance of winning the World Cup.
Richards replied: “No, but AFCON is big, isn’t it? You remember when he and [Sadio] Mane were going for it and…”
And Carragher interrupted the former defender by complaining:”Oh God.”
Sturridge jumped in by stating it’s a “fact” that Afcon is at the same level as the Euros or Copa America.
The ex-Liverpool star said: “It’s a fact. It’s a fact. It’s a fact. If you win the Euros or if you win Copa America it’s deemed to be big so the AFCON is at the same level.”
Ferdinand, 46, caught wind of Carragher’s statement and argued that sort of thought process is “ignorant”.
The Man Utd legend claimed he understood what his ex-England team-mate was trying to say but insists Fifa need to work on promoting Afcon exactly like the Euros and Copa America.
Ferdinand said on his Rio Presents podcast: “I think that comment is representative of the majority of the people out there. But I don’t think that’s right. That’s ignorant.
“If you go to Didier Drogba, Abedi Pele, Samuel Eto’o, Riyad Mahrez, Mo Salah or Sadio Mane, they’ll tell you, ‘We have to win this’ – it’s a demand in their countries to win this.
“Yes, it doesn’t get backed resources wise like the Euros etc. but that doesn’t mean you have to devalue it. It’s a continent of huge power. A continent that contributes to European football though players massively. It should be respected more than it is.
Carragher slams Ferdinand
“I understand what Jamie’s saying but I don’t agree with it. That’s the majority’s fault, if we’re honest, and its not right.
“I think the federations like FIFA need to make sure they implement a way of thinking and language around Afcon so it equals the Euros and the Copa America.
“Jamie is right in what he is saying because that is what happens. If Mo Salah won Afcon that would have no bearing on anyone when they vote for the Ballon d’Or, which is absolutely wrong.”
Carragher heard what Ferdinand had to say on Instagram and hit back with a fiery response on the comments’ section.
The Liverpool great branded his fellow Premier League hero a “clown” as he insisted his words were taken out of context.
Carragher responded: “I didn’t say that you clown. Stop playing to the gallery like you always do.”
Setting the record straight
The former centre-back tried to set the record straight with a lengthy post on Twitter.
Carragher tweeted: “The point I was trying to make yesterday was that Mo Salah is at a disadvantage playing for Egypt in terms of him winning the Balon D’or.
“If Salah had an average season at LFC but won the AFCON & was MVP I don’t think he would win the Balon d’Or. Because I don’t think AFCON carries the weight of other tournaments.
“But if Mbappe had an average season at Real Madrid but won the World Cup/Euros he would still have a great opportunity.
“It’s not just about certain tournaments, [Andriy] Shevchenko (Ukraine), [Robert] Lewandowski (Poland) were never going to win the WC/Euros to help their case for the prize. I don’t think it’s controversial at all really it’s just a fact.
“I know Mane came 2nd a few years back after winning the tournament but that alone wouldn’t have got him to that position, it was LFC being two games away from a quadruple that played a big role also.
“It’s not disrespectful if I feel the WC/Euros/CP are better tournaments it’s just my opinion when I watch them. Saying it wasn’t a major competition was clumsy but I think most people watching could understand the point I was trying to make.
“The face I pulled when Micah interjected was nothing to do with the merits of the tournament, I just knew as soon as he did what the reaction was going to be! I get a lot people didn’t like what I said & that’s fine.
“I don’t normally respond to things on here with posts like this but I decided to tweet in the end after seeing so many phoneys jumping on the bandwagon & playing to the gallery when they knew what I meant. Good luck MO you little dancer.”

BRENDAN RODGERS last night revealed Celtic have raised Saturday’s disallowed Easter Road goal with the SFA.
Hoops chiefs have contacted referees’ boss Willie Collum after Daizen Maeda’s strike was controversially ruled out because the ball was judged to have gone out of play in the build-up.
But the strike against Hibs was ruled out by VAR for this incidentAlistair Johnston was allowed to cross for Daizen Maeda’s goalBBC Sportscene showed various angles of the by-line row
Ref Steven McLean and his linesman awarded the goal, before VAR Alan Muir intervened and insisted it be ruled out.
Rodgers insisted Muir had GUESSED for the decision as there was no way of knowing conclusively whether the ball had gone out before Alastair Johnston crossed it.
He said: “The club go through the process. We don’t make statements, we just go through the procedure, which is that the club speaks to the SFA and get a feeling of what they think.
“We haven’t had anything back yet. Having watched it and seen the various images, my feeling is still the same.
“There are a couple of images you see where the illusion is that it’s out, there’s others that will look like it’s clearly in.
“I’ve seen one image right on the actual goalline, which was an incredible shot and that looked in, so it’s more the process really.
“I was disappointed for the guys in the game, Steven McLean and the linesman, because they actually got it correct in the game.
“I didn’t feel that they should have been overruled on that without a definitive answer, which is what I said at the time.”
Rodgers reckons Scottish football woud benefit from goal-line technology. That would not necessarily have made the Easter Road incident a black-and-white call as that only covers incidents between the posts.
But it would have ensured a camera was set up on the goal-line and helped ensure a better judgment.
Rodgers added: “It’s all about what you can afford within the league. There may be other priorities. If it’s something the game can afford to do, you would have scenarios but you would also have the clarity you would get with goal-line technology.”
Rodgers conceded the flashpoint came after what had been a disappointing first-half showing by his side.
He said: “I still feel we should have had something from the game, especially second half.
“In the first half we didn’t make a good start, which is something you always want to do.
“But I didn’t overthink it as the players have been fantastic for me.
“The consistency and level we’ve shown over many months has been at a really high level.
“After a disappointing first half, we had a great reaction and should have had an equaliser, which could have given us momentum to go on and win the game.
“But it didn’t happen and we move on.
“We obviously need to bounce back from the weekend, but the game showed that if you’re not quite on it, then teams can hurt you.
“It’s also a great measure of how focused and professional the team have been, because we’ve had very few slip-ups over the season.”
Celtic face Aberdeen, with Jimmy Thelin’s side the only visiting team to have scored at CelticPark in the league.
Rodgers added: “Celtic v Aberdeen are always good games.”

A SCOTTISH hotel has been named the best in the UK by expert reviewers.
Consumer experts Which? send hundreds of undercover inspectors out to rate hotels and guest houses across the UK each year.
Tartan and old-fashioned elegance at the hotelThe hotel was branded exceptional
And the team have revealed that one Scots hotel has been given their coveted full five star rating – for the first time in seven years.
The Marcliffe, at Pitfodels, on the outskirts of Aberdeen, was hailed by the Which? team as ‘best in its class’ with the team saying the staff were amazing and the hotel was brilliant value for money.
Which? says the five-star rating is reserved for a property they think is truly exceptional.
The team said: “Unlike most other publications, we pay for the hotels we review, and our inspectors always stay anonymously. Between them, the inspectors have more than 50 years of experience reviewing properties.”
The five-star hotel sits on the edge of Aberdeen and is known locally for its traditional style and warm welcome.
The Which? inspector said: “From the moment you climb the sweeping drive of this Victorian manor house on the outskirts of Aberdeen, to the waistcoated staff who swing open the doors and usher you into a reception warmed by a blazing fire, every minute at the Marcliffe feels special.
“There is no bling, no gold wallpaper or cocktail-snapping influencers, not even a hot tub in the small spa. The tartan carpets, high tea in the drawing room and impeccable service feel almost old-fashioned. But it’s this elegance that appeals and keeps minor royals – who can’t fit into nearby Balmoral – coming back.”
The hotel bedrooms were praised for their wonderfully comfy, locally made mattresses while the restaurant was hailed for its tasty fare and great value.
And it’s the price point which helped the Marcliffe gain its five-star rating.
The Which team said: “It’s the value that makes this the best UK hotel we’ve stayed at in the past seven years. To be so completely swept off your feet for less than £200 (including breakfast) makes The Marcliffe remarkable.”
And while the inspector’s experience clearly couldn’t have been any better, the hotel is actually just about to undergo a major, multi-million pound revamp.
Earlier this year, Balmoral Group took ownership of the five-star hotel.
Now The Marcliffe team wants to hear from people across the region on what they’d like to see from the hotel.
As part of a #MyMarcliffe campaign, people in the north-east are being asked to share their personal experiences of the hotel as well as what they’d like to see from the revamp.
Peter Walker, General Manager at The Marcliffe, said: “I know how much The Marcliffe means to those in the community, and we want everyone to be a part of this change.
“I strongly encourage everyone to share their aspirations and hopes for the future with us. We want to ensure the investment reflects what matters most to those who have supported The Marcliffe over the years, and those who we hope will support it in the future.”

ANAS Sarwar was last night blasted as “desperate” after calling for trans women to be banned from single-sex spaces.
The Scottish Labour leader’s call comes after he admitted he was wrong to support gender self—ID.
AlamyAnas Sarwar declared that trans women should be banned from single-sex spaces[/caption]
AlamyBut he was slammed by Scottish Tories equalities spokeswoman Tess White for the comments[/caption]
Mr Sarwar said: “There should be single-sex spaces based on biological sex, there should be single-sex services based on biological sex and there should be the respect of the Equality Act.
“And my fear is what’s happening in some parts of our public institutions across Scotland is that they aren’t following the law.
“I think they need to follow the law.”
But his comments were blasted by the Scottish Tories who said Mr Sarwar had “betrayed” women and girls.
The party’s equalities spokeswoman Tess White said: “This desperate attempt to rewrite history by Anas Sarwar only served to highlight what a weak, ineffectual leader he is.
“Anas Sarwar is part of the disconnected left-wing consensus at Holyrood which allowed gender self-ID to become dangerously embedded in Scotland’s public bodies.
“Like John Swinney, he now hopes Scots will forget about it.”
It comes after Mr Sarwar suffered an embarrassing defeat at Scottish Labour’s conference when delegates voted down a bid to back safe spaces for women.
Current NHS guidance says staff can deal with transgender patients on a case-by-case basis.
A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “The Scottish Government strongly supports the separate and single-sex exceptions in the UK-wide Equality Act 2010, which can allow for trans people to be excluded when this is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.
“Health boards should assess each situation individually and sensitively using experience and expertise to determine the appropriate course of action, whilst fulfilling their responsibilities under the Act.”
