Who is Lloyd Glasspool’s fiancée Sophia Maslin?

LLOYD Glasspool and Julian Cash’s electrifying run at the All England Club has British tennis fans dreaming of glory.

Here we get to know Lloyd’s fiancée Sophia Maslin, who has been very vocal in supporting her man from the stands throughout Wimbledon 2025.

Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash’s path to the Wimbledon gentlemen’s doubles final has been marked by impressive consistency and ballsy clutch performances.

In the first round, they defeated Vasil Kirkov and Bart Stevens in straight sets, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, showcasing strong nerves in the first set tiebreak.

In the second round, they faced Hendrik Jebens and Albano Olivetti, advancing again without dropping a set.

They were up against an Guido Andreozzi and Marcelo Demoliner in round three, whom they dispatched in straight sets.

Their biggest test came in the quarter-finals against defending champions Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, where the Brit pairing saved three match points, eventually winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (10-8) in a nail-bitingly dramatic finish.

In the semi-finals, they delivered a commanding performance to defeat French Open champions and fourth seeds Marcel Granollers from Spain and Horacio Zeballos without facing a single break point.

They have dropped just one set en route to the final, setting up a historic all-British bid for the title.

Next up, they face alternates — that’s right, they were added to the main draw after a team dropped out — Rinky Hijikata and David Pel.

The newly formed duo caused a huge upset by eliminating the world’s top team, Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.

Despite being favourites based on rankings, Lloyd has acknowledged the unpredictability of their opponents.

He said: “This is probably the first match we are going in as favourites from rankings. They are a tricky pair.

“They have never played together before so no-one has any rankings on them.

“They have just taken out the best team in the world this year.

“It’s going to be an extremely difficult match but hopefully we will have the crowd with us and it will be an exciting match.”

She is very consistent throughout the match — she is very vocal I really appreciate it. I think Julian really likes it as well. It lifts us as a team for sure

‘The world opens up when you’re thin’ – The dark truth of extreme thinness ‘Skinnytok’ trend targeting girls and teens

IF you thought we left diet culture back in the 1990s, think again.

Toxic ideas about bodies and weight are creeping back into our lives, and it’s clear the lessons of the past haven’t sunk in.

Leading the charge is social media, with TikTok at the centre of it all.

A disturbing trend dubbed SkinnyTok has blown up so much on the app TikTok bosses had to step in and ban the hashtag.

But that hasn’t stopped sneaky variations of it from slipping through the cracks and landing in front of young girls and teens.

The trend saw the social media platform, with TWO million Irish users – many of whom are underage despite the 13-year-old age limit – flooded with hundreds of thousands of videos showing weight loss tips that could “promote eating disorders” and “objectification of women’s bodies”.

Both the European Commission and Coimisiún na Meán warned that the trend was promoting “unrealistic body images” and “extreme weight loss”.

Bobbi McDermott, 42, from Dublin, knows more than most just how insidious “skinny talk” can be.

She battled anorexia for years in the era of a comment made by model Kate Moss back in the 2000s that “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”, a comment that the top model has since distanced herself from.

Bobbi told The Irish Sun: “This is skinny talk. They glamourise [the weight loss] like it’s amazing but they’re playing with fire.

“Kate was right for about five minutes until the world shrinks along with your body, and all that is left is pain.

“These trends add into that competitive nature and that need for perfection, which is so dangerous for addictions like anorexia

“The biggest interest rates in the world are the weight loss industry and the porn industry.

“And both of them are designed to take you down and both promote an unhealthy body image. I think it’s always going to be there.”

The English model’s comment was heavily criticised in 2009 after it was adopted by a number of pro-anorexia websites.

Kate was accused of encouraging eating disorders at the time, and almost a decade later the supermodel said she regretted saying the controversial quote.

But years later, skinny talk is back, flooding social media channels with extreme weight loss tips.

TikTok chiefs have said the #SkinnyTok searches are now blocked since “it has become linked to unhealthy weight-loss content”.

And now searches for the hashtag lead to a link to mental health support.

But searches related to the hashtag ‘skinny’ are still available on the social media platform with hundreds of thousands of pieces of content related to weight loss.

And trends like ‘You Don’t Need A Treat You’re Not A Dog,’ ‘Skinny is self respect,’ ‘Being hot and skinny,’ ‘SK!NNITOK’ are still attracting hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok.

‘SOCIAL ADDICTION’

Bobbi added: “I think that there should be optional protections that you can put in there.

“I personally would go on and ban all these hashtags and I report damaging things that come up.

“And now, thankfully, they do not come up any more because of my algorithm.

“But [skinny talk] is a social addiction. We’re obsessed with how we look.

“I think if we want to fight against or if we want to starve the oxygen out of these trends, we have to push against it with more healthy trends, with more connection to real people, not these people that are, you know, putting on filters, doing angles.

“You fight it back with positive connections, positive stories, positive lifestyles.”

‘PRESSURE TO BE SKINNY’

Brazilian social media influencer Ana B, 35, who has been living in Dublin for over a decade now, has shared how she developed a binge eating disorder as well as the challenges of the unrealistic pursuit of a perfect body.

She said: “I have binge eating because of severe anxiety. I’ve had it since I was a teenager.

“I was around 15-years-old when I started taking weight loss pills along with laxatives, overexercising, and doing all sorts of things, because when I lived in Brazil, I really wanted to be thin.

“I really felt that pressure to be thin in Brazil. And from that point on, I started developing a binge eating disorder.

“It’s still something I carry with me. Now that I’m older, with therapy and self-awareness, I understand it. I know what it is. I’m working on it but it is hard, it’s really hard.”

Ana has also noted a change in social behaviour – especially online – after the Covid-19 pandemic in which the plus-size bodies were embraced through the lens of body positivity which also reflected in the fashion landscape.

But now, five years later,  skinny talks are once again dominating the headlines – this time, the Brazilian woman believes it could be driven by the growing popularity of weight-loss drugs.

Ana added: “The whole of society embraced the plus-size business, and curvy women, because that’s what they were selling.

“But today, when you walk into the shops, you can’t find plus-size options anymore.

“And then people say it is because ‘there’s no demand’ or come up with other excuses, but to me that’s just not true. I genuinely believe it’s tied to the pharmaceutical push — there’s a lot of money involved.

“Sadly, especially on TikTok, people now feel increasingly comfortable promoting the idea that being thin is the ultimate goal.

“There’s even a trend going around in the US with people saying: ‘I’ll never be unhappy, because I’ll be thin.’

“And what scares me most is the level of engagement – so many likes and so many comments.

“People feel more and more free to say these things out loud.

“But I can’t even bring myself to blame them — it’s a reflection of the world we live in: the fashion industry, beauty standards, society.”

The 35-year-old revealed that she underwent bariatric surgery due to health reasons last April, and has lost 15kg since then.

‘QUITE CHALLENGING’

She added: “After losing weight through bariatric surgery, I can see how people treat me differently now.

“The decision to have bariatric surgery was for health, but from the moment you start to see that the world is easier and people are nicer when you start to lose weight, it is quite challenging.

“The way the world opens up to you when you’re thin — it’s real. The life of a thin person is way easier than the life of a fat person. Sadly, that’s just the reality we’re living in.”

New data from the Health Service Executive showed that more than 500 people were diagnosed with an eating disorder last year, 118 more diagnoses than in 2023.

And there was a 33 per cent increase in referrals for treatment in 2024.

Research and Policy Officer with Bodywhys, the Eating Disorders Association of Ireland, Barry Murphy, said that the algorithm is a systemic issue, adding: “It’s like a bad neighbour or someone you did not invite to your family party.”

He continued: “The algorithm gets to know our preferences in what we search for and what we access, view, watch and follow.

“And the concern with eating disorders is the person might then fall down a rabbit hole of content that ultimately promotes eating disorders.

“The problem with weight-loss-based content is that it really brings up objectification and that your worth is tied up in this part of your appearance when it should be a focus on health and not a particular body type.”

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF ANOREXIA

ACCORDING to the HSE, the main symptom of anorexia is losing more weight than is healthy for your age and height.

The full list of signs are:

  • deliberately missing meals, eating very little or avoiding eating any foods you see as fattening
  • lying about what and when you’ve eaten, and how much you weigh
  • taking medicine that makes you feel less hungry (appetite suppressants)
  • exercising too much
  • making yourself sick
  • using medicines to help you poo (laxatives) or to make you pee (diuretics) to try to avoid putting on weight
  • an overwhelming fear of gaining weight
  • strict rituals around eating
  • seeing losing a lot of weight as a positive thing
  • believing you are fat when you are a healthy weight or underweight
  • not admitting your weight loss is serious

He added: “You can see problems with TikTok linked to eating disorders going back as far as 2020.

“There are some long-term issues there that clearly haven’t been fully addressed.

“They need to look at the algorithm from a risk perspective, so to identify the harms, to assess them and then ultimately report on them, so being more transparent with what’s going on.

“And individually, people need to be careful where they get validation from, particularly if it is online, because online is very fleeting.”

Over one million units of illegal medicines were detained by the Health Products Regulatory Authority last year, a 14 per cent increase compared to 2023.

The HPRA also noted an upward trend in detentions of GLP-1 products – medications used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity – including semaglutide and liraglutide.

In a statement, a spokesperson said: “The HPRA confirmed that it detained 1,000,984 dosage units of falsified and other illegal medicines in 2024.

“The data highlights that anabolic steroids, sedatives and erectile dysfunction products are consistently the most detained categories of medicines year on year.

“While overall numbers remain low, 1,582 units of GLP-1 products were detained in 2024 compared to 568 units in 2023 and just 40 units in 2022.”

An estimated 188,895 people in Ireland will experience an eating disorder at some point in their lives, according to Bodywhys. And one in 20 people across the country will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime.

Horrifying moment gunman opens fire on crowded beer garden of pub leaving woman, 55, seriously injured

THIS is the horrifying moment a gunman opened fire on a crowded beer garden of a pub, leaving a woman seriously injured.

Last year, Oliver Corney fired three shots into the busy beer garden of the Red Lion in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire.

The gunman reportedly came after a pub brawl[/caption]

One of the shots fired on June 28 hit landlady Bonita Page, 55, in the leg, leaving her with serious injuries.

Page was trying to break up the fight when she was caught in the crossfire.

In a chilling video released by South Yorkshire Police, the first gunshot can be seen striking the ground between a small crowd of people.

The second, a little further away, sends sparks flying into the air.

In the third shot, a white-haired woman standing by the pub’s gate can be seen doubling over before limping inside.

Corney’s attack followed a fight outside the pub and after firing into the crowd, Corney then fled the scene.

The force’s Armed Crime Team quickly launched an investigation.

A spokesman said: “Officers were quickly on the scene and through initial witness interviews and CCTV enquiries, Corney was nominated as a suspect.

“As the local community began to provide crucial information about the incident, Corney obviously felt the net closing and handed himself in.

“After refusing to provide any comment or explanation for his reckless behaviour, a positive identification from a witness of the incident and an overwhelming amount of evidence resulted in Corney being charged with possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent.”

Page was badly affected by the traumatic event and has not since returned to work and is still in pain.

In her personal statement the landlady now finds ordinary activities difficult and has nightmares and PTSD.

Sheffield Crown Court heard, and Judge Jeremy Richardson KC said the shooter had “wrecked her life”.

He said Corney had “narrowly avoided a life sentence”.

The 34-year-old initially pleaded not guilty to the crimes in a shameless display of “remorseless behaviour” but finally he changed his plea to guilty.

On Friday, July 11, at Sheffield Crown Court, Corney, of Cricket Inn Road, Sheffield, was handed an extended sentence of 16 years and nine months in prison.

He must serve at least 11 years and nine months behind bars.

Detective Constable Jennifer Guest, of our Armed Crime Team, said: “Corney’s thoughtless actions put lots of people in danger and it is only through sheer luck that more people were not injured during this incident.

“His careless behaviour has left a lasting impact on his victim and I hope this sentence provides some closure for her.

“This was a thorough investigation which was helped by lots of support from the local community ultimately providing an overwhelming amount of evidence leaving Corney no choice but to plead guilty.

“We are relentless in our approach to tackling firearm enabled criminality in South Yorkshire and as today’s sentencing shows, anyone intent on illegally using or possessing firearms will be found and dealt with by the courts.

“We need the public to continue to help us in order to keep putting these dangerous criminals behind bars, and so I would urge anyone with information on the use of firearms in South Yorkshire to get in touch with us.”

‘Really big club’ – Son of Chelsea Champions League hero signs for Arsenal in Gunners’ latest raid on London rivals

ARSENAL have continued their ongoing raid of London rivals Chelsea by signing a former Blues academy kid to his first professional contract at the Emirates.

Marcell Washington, son of Chelsea Champions League final hero Ryan Bertrand, has put pen to paper on a pro deal with the Gunners after leaving Chelsea’s youth set-up last season.

The 17-year-old left-back joined Arsenal from their neighbours a trialist last season and has clearly impressed enough to earn a deal with the Gunners.

Washington has big ambitions for his career too, hoping to surpass his dad during his playing days – despite Bertand’s dream European debut in the 2012 Champions League final going down in history in SW6.

Washington said: “I think it’s been such an honour to have him take me through clips and walk me through games that I’ve played.

“He’s really passionate about making me a better player and probably a better version of him. We might have a bit of an argument about it but you get it out of him.”

Washington is keen to win trophies with the Gunners too, adding: “I think it’s a really big club, obviously.

“The club are always striving to win trophies. I’m just looking to be an addition to that and see what I can offer the club.”

The talented defender, who has been handed the number 55 at Arsenal, is ready to compete with the likes of Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly for a place in the first team in the future.

He added: “They’re all great players that play in and around my position, which I think is a really good thing and training with them and getting the opportunities is really good as well.

“Because you obviously want to learn from players with such experience and such high skill with all of the games.”

Washington becomes the latest name on a growing list of players Arsenal have lured away from Stamford Bridge in recent seasons.

Since Mikel Arteta took over in N5, Arsenal have signed five first team players from Chelsea including the likes of Jorginho, Kai Havertz and this summer’s addition of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

It looks like that number is only going to continue climbing too, after news broke of Arsenal coming to an agreement with the Blues over the signing of Noni Madueke.

Arsenal are set to pay a fee in excess of £50m for the winger, who has already agreed a five-year contract with Arteta’s side and is flying home from the Club World Cup in the USA to finalise the deal.

There’s a growing sense of frustration amongst Arsenal fans at the club continually using rivals Chelsea as their summer shopping window, especially following the lack of success many of the players have had after making the jump.

Last season’s loan move for Raheem Sterling and 2020’s arrival of Willian are examples of players who have failed to impress for the Gunners after leaving Chelsea.

Arsenal fans appear to be concerned that history could repeat itself with Madueke, with many being vocal of their displeasure at the impending move.

So much so that an online petition asking Arsenal not to sign the England international has gained almost 5,000 signatures in a matter of days.

While video circulating online has shown murals of Mikel Arteta and Josh Kroenke outside the Emirates Stadium being defaced with obscenities and the words “Arteta Out”.

Liam Gallagher booed by Oasis fans at first Manchester gig after dedicating song to ‘greatest of all time’

LIAM Gallagher was booed by fans at Oasis’ first Manchester gig last night after he dedicated a song to the “greatest of all time”.

The iconic band performed their first of five nights at Heaton Park yesterday, belting out tunes in their hometown for the first time in 16 years.

Liam Gallagher rubbed some fans the wrong way when he dedicated one song to the ‘greatest manager of all time’[/caption]

However, some fans were less than happy after the front man made a special dedication midway through the gig before a performance of D’You Know What I Mean.

Before getting into the track, Liam addressed the crowd, saying: “I’d like to dedicate this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola.”

The mention of Guardiola, who has served as manager of the brothers’ beloved football team Manchester City since 2016, sparked some boos from the crowd – likely from fans of rival team Manchester United.

Liam began to imitate praying towards the manager, bending down and lowering his back while his hands are raised.

As some of the crowd begins to boo, Noel responds by asking: “Who you f***ing booing, who you f***ing booing?”

Footage of the moment also shows a life-sized cut-out of the iconic manager with a Man City scarf around his neck on stage.

Thankfully, fans – even those supporting rival teams – enjoyed the moment and broke into laughter as Liam launched into an emphatic version of D’You Know What I Mean.

Footage also showed Guardiola, 54, enjoying the gig last night alongside his daughter, belting out the words to Don’t Look Back in Anger alongside 80,000 fans.

Even before the show, the Man City manager was seen partying backstage with the Gallagher brothers’ family.

Picture show Noel’s sons Donovan and Sonny next to Liam’s daughter Anais, with Pep wedged between Liam’s boys Gene and Lennon.

The Spaniard enjoyed backstage VIP access and wore a classic retro Man City shirt and a casual pair of denim shorts, with Gene sharing it on his Instagram.

The 24-year-old wrote: “Pic of the century alright now everyone else can f*** off.”

Oasis guitarist Noel, 56, is a lifelong Man City superfan and regularly attends games at the Etihad Stadium.

He was the first to interview Guardiola following his arrival in Manchester nine years ago and the pair have since established a close bond.

Brother Liam, 52, is also a lifelong fan of the club.

Oasis’ gig on Friday was the third of their tour, which began in Cardiff on July 4.

The Manchester concert began as the brothers walked onto the stage together to cheers from the crowd – marking Oasis’s return to their roots.

Liam held his older brother’s hand and raised it, while he had his trademark maracas in his other fist.

A source said: “Noel and Liam are devoted to their mum Peggy and they knew there would be a lot of interest in her after Oasis reunited.

“They wanted her to keep being able to live a quiet life and there have been fans coming to the house.

“They have employed a security firm to keep an eye on her and make sure she isn’t hassled.”

I was so excited after buying a dupe for Jenny Packham’s £3.7k sequin dress on Shein – but was horrified by what arrived

SHOPPING online can be a gamble, as sometimes what arrives looks nothing like the photo.

This was certainly true of one woman who was excited to have found a dupe for a Jenny Packham £3,700 gown on Shein.

Shopper Morgan thought she’d found the most stunning ball gown on Shein for a bargain price[/caption]

She was shocked when the dress she ordered looking nothing like the photo when it arrived[/caption]

The floor-length gorgeous gown was adorned with sequins and had glamorous shoulder capes which cascaded down the back.

However, the reality of what arrived was far from this image.

Dr Morgan Tracy, 28, uploaded a clip of the Shein dress arrived in the post, and it looked like a completely different gown.

On her @morgantracy8 account, she wrote: “Wait for it.

“The worst dress I’ve ever seen… I am shooketh.”

Instead of a heavy sequined material, the Shein dress appeared to have a photo of the other dress printed onto some thin material.

There were also no caped shoulders in sight.

Morgan added: “Dude it’s SOOO bad!! my mom was gonna wear this to my wedding.”

Unsurprisingly, she added: “Yeah we are gonna find her a different dress.”

People were shocked when they saw the expectation vs reality photos in the clip.

One said: “OMG LMAOOOOOOOOO.”

Another added: “Omg.”

The fast fashion brand has become the go-to-destination for low cost clothes, with influencers doing mega hauls with endless items on Tiktok.

But Morgan hasn’t been the only person to experience the horror of opening a parcel to find that what she ordered is very different to what she received.

BUYER’S REMORSE

Emily Probst ordered a ball gown from the fast fashion giant, only to be sent a dress that looked “not even close” to the pictures.

“I suppose this is what I get for using Shein,” she said on Facebook.

But what she received looked nothing like the pictures[/caption]

Emily picked up a dress with a satin skirt and sleeveless mesh bodice adorned with glitter and gems.

In a weird turn of events, she was sent a short-sleeve frock littered with sequins.

The only similarity was the length of the dresses and the blush pink colour.

“It’s not even close,” one person commented.

“The original has barely any sequins on it and the one you received is drowning in them,” another social media user added.

“How does that make sense?”

What is Shein and is it legit?

Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.

The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.

The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.

Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.

But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.

There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.

His colleague Smith was just as irritated, having encountered travel problems for the second time this season after having trouble checking in for a flight back from Munich.

He tweeted: “No luggage, no representative for British Airways at Hamburg airport. No equipment or darts!

“Great start to the European Tour this weekend. Hopefully British Airways can send my bag to the hotel asap.”

Nick Knowles’ wife Katie, 35, reveals she’s had a hysterectomy after going through ‘years of pain’

NICK Knowles’ wife Katie has revealed that she has had a hysterectomy after going through ‘years of pain’.

Katie, 35, married her husband, former Strictly Come Dancing star Nick, 62, in a stunning Essex ceremony last month.

But just over a month after their big day, Katie went to hospital to undergo a hysterectomy procedure.

The operation involves the removal of the uterus and womb, but it can also involve other organs such as the ovaries or cervix.

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure which removes a woman’s womb and may also involve the removal of other organs, such as the ovaries.

She posted a behind-the-scenes montage video on Instagram as she shared a candid look from her experience.

Katie wrote an essay in the caption of the video as she revealed that she has suffered years of pain because she suffered from endometriosis and adenomyosis.

In the video, the personality appeared in a gown and compression socks as she elected to have her third operation.

She took selfies from the bed as she showed her 98k followers round her private bathroom.

After the surgery, she also had several bandages on her stomach as Katie wrote: “I’m 35 and I’ve just had a hysterectomy.

“I’ve lived with pcos, endometriosis and adenomyosis since Moses wore short pants. And no, it wasn’t ‘just a bad period.’

“It was constant hospital trips. Multiple laparoscopies. Bleeding through clothes. Vomiting from the pain. Being curled up in bed, missing out on life.

“It was extreme bloating that made me look pregnant. It was migraines, stabbing pains in my legs, butt and stomach.

“It was chronic fatigue. It was hiding in loos, crying over another ruined day. It was my daughters terrified of getting their periods in case they end up like mummy.”

She continued: “Years of misdiagnosis & being fobbed off. Told to take painkillers. That it was ‘normal.’ It wasn’t.

don’t recognise the woman I am when I’m in pain. Because I don’t want to remember the days where I was too sore, too tired, too bloated.

“I’ve cried on bathroom floors. I’ve bled through clothes in public.
I’ve had 3 surgeries.

“I’ve tried every pill, every patch, every hormone tweak. I’ve been put on a medical menopause just to get through uni. And still… the pain came.”

“Today I looked through my phone and realised I hardly have any photos of myself like this.

“Because I don’t recognise the woman I am when I’m in pain. Because I don’t want to remember the days where I was too sore, too tired, too bloated.”

When heavy periods could be something sinister

WHEN it comes to periods, there is a textbook definition of normal – but then there is also what a normal period looks like for you.

For some (lucky) people, these definitions overlap; for others, they don’t.

The NHS recognises a ‘normal period’ as losing between 30 and 60ml, or six to eight teaspoonfuls, each month. A ‘heavy’ period’ is anything more than 80ml.

Another, arguably simpler, way of working out whether your period is heavy is to count the number of pads or tampons you use.

Having to change a pad or tampon every one to two hours, or emptying a menstrual cup more often than is recommended, is a sign your period is heavy.

An NHS test can also help reveal whether your periods are heavy and if it’s worth seeing your GP.

Dr Fran Yarlett, GP and medical director at The Lowdown, said: “Heavy periods can be normal for some people.

“But if your periods have changed and become heavier, this can signify medical problems.” This could be:

  1. Early-stage cervical cancer
  2. Fibroids (non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb)
  3. Perimenopause (the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause)
  4. Hypothyroidism (when the thyroid doesn’t produce enough hormones
  5. Endometriosis (tissue similar to that in the womb grows in other areas of the body)

The star admitted that she has no plans to have more children, however she is still going through ‘grief’ as she felt that that choice was taken away from her.

“I didn’t want more children, my girls are everything. But that doesn’t mean this is easy. Because the choice has been taken from me.

“And that grief is real. It feels like something in me has changed, apart from being sans uterus.

“Right now, I’m in lots of pain. Im bloated. I’m exhausted. I’m hot. I’m forgetful. I’m hot (see how that works on multiple levels 😂).

“I feel raw and less like myself. Less like a woman, if I’m being really honest.”

“But this was a decision I made to take my life back. To stop surviving and start living again, & have days that aren’t defined by pain.”

Katie also opened up on her raw emotions around the surgery, but she urged social media users to be kind.

She added : “This is hopefully the beginning of healing. The beginning of self-love, scars, stitches and all.

“And please, if you’ve made it this far, I ask gently: This is something deeply personal. If you’re tempted to leave a judgmental or flippant comment, I’m asking you to just scroll on.

“There is a real person behind this post.”
