I have spent over £10K on ASOS but have just had my account banned – I’m absolutely fuming & it’s discrimination

A WOMAN has been left fuming after getting her ASOS account banned despite spending over £10,000 on the site.

Tskenya-Sarah Frazer, 31, has been a regular ASOS shopper since she was a teenager because of its range of plus-sized and tall offerings.

Like many, she says it’s unfair to be kicked off when sizing isn’t consistent[/caption]

The plus-sized tall woman had her ASOS account banned due to their new returns policy that has sparked outrage.

Tskenya-Sarah checked her email on June 19 she checked her emails to find her account with the online retailer had been blocked for life – due to breaching their “Fair Use Policy” because of the returns she has made.

ASOS cracked down last year on shoppers over-returning by charging £3.95 for returns if shoppers keep less than £40 of the order.

The decision was met with criticism from shoppers who argued that as there aren’t in-person shops to try on items, greater returns should be expected.

And in ASOS’s latest act it appears shoppers’ return habits are again coming under fire.

Tskenya, who is a broadcaster and inclusion consultant, said her first thought was, ‘where am I going to shop now?’.

Due to her size 18 and 5ft 9in frame, she said she had only made returns when she had bought multiple sizes due to being unsure which would fit.

This is something she says she always needs to do, because she falls outside the ‘standard’ sizing range and the tall and plus sections can be even more varied than the regular ranges.

She previously considered herself a “loyal customer” – even defending ASOS if people told her they didn’t like it – and reckons she has spent over £10k on the site over the past decade.

But Tskenya now feels the brand is “punching down” on certain groups – such as people who don’t fit regular sizing, as well as people who aren’t able to visit in-person shops due to disabilities or location.

Tskenya, from Hackney, East London, said: “I’ve always been tall and plus-sized – I also have a larger foot size.

“It’s always been hard to find clothes that fit me – and when I discovered ASOS as a teen it became my safe haven and my go-to because they had such a range of sizes.

“So when I woke up and got this cold email that my account had been permanently blocked, I couldn’t believe it.

“I had such loyalty to ASOS – I never shopped anywhere else – and now I’m banned for life, it’s egregious.

Three things that might lead to your ASOS account being banned include:

  1. Return fraud (returning items that mismatch with original condition – e.g. should be unused with tags and in original packaging)
  2. High return frequency
  3. Suspicious return patterns

“This is more than clothes. This is an impact on people, and punching down on people of different heights, weights, abilities and classes.

“I feel so disillusioned – I don’t know if I could shop with them again, even if they gave me my account back.”

Tskenya is one of many young women who noticed their ASOS accounts were randomly closed last month – with many of them sharing their disbelief online.

Tskenya’s email, received on June 19, read: “After reviewing your recent returns again, you remain part of a small group of customers whose shopping behaviour consistently breaches our Fair Use Policy.

“As a result, we’ve decided to close your account with immediate effect.

“For your information, this decision also applies to any other accounts you currently have or may attempt to open in the future.”

The Fair Use Policy on ASOS’s website states: “If we suspect fraudulent activity and/or notice any unusual or suspicious activity with your account, we may refuse to issue a refund and suspend and/or close your account and any associated accounts.”

They list examples such as complaints relating to unreceived orders, missing items, ordering and returning large quantities, and unusual patterns of returns activity.

The retailers need to take some responsibility – if clothing sizes were standardised, we wouldn’t need to order two sizes or lengths.

Tskenya-Sarah Frazer

Tskenya recalled being shocked – as she said she hadn’t considered her orders or returns to be out of the ordinary.

She said she does a big shop of around £2,000 four times a year for each season and returns around 50% of the order each time.

She would often order two or three sizes of a garment to ensure she got a size that fitted – and paid a yearly fee for ASOS Premier for unlimited free next-day delivery.

She said: “The retailers need to take some responsibility – if clothing sizes were standardised, we wouldn’t need to order two sizes or lengths.

“I spoke to other people – some said they were disabled or chronically ill and couldn’t return in person, or some lived remotely with no high streets.

“I think this is bigger than ASOS – it’s an endemic issue with online retailers – punching down on people.”

Tskenya feels let down by the brand – which she had been loyal to as she felt she shared their values.

She said: “They were a brand that spoke on diversity, and had these great campaigns and activations for LGBT+ folk and black history month.

“If I ever heard someone complain about ASOS, like their delivery or something, I would defend them, saying they’re trying their best.

“I always said ASOS was a company I’d love to collab with – I’d heard they treat their employees well.

“And they’re trying to be good with diversity and sustainability.

“I thought we shared the same values – but clearly we don’t.”

Tskenya said she has attempted to speak to ASOS on chat and by calling head office but has had no success.

Now she isn’t confident she’d shop with them again even if her account was restored – but said the problem doesn’t stop there.

She said: “It’s easy for people to brush off ‘oh here we go, Diversity Equality and Inclusion again’, but it’s bigger even than that.

“This will affect all retailers if they aren’t held to account and aren’t transparent about things.”

ASOS has been contacted for comment.

Other ways to save money at ASOS

HERE are some of the best ways you can save and get the best prices at ASOS and other outlet stores.

Save money with ASOS Flash Sales and promo codes

Flash Sales are mini-sales that last anywhere between a couple of hours to a few days – such as the ‘Sample Sale’.

When one occurs, an ASOS promo code will often be advertised that can be used on a particular product or range.

Flash Sales also happen around bank holidays and other ‘special’ days like Valentine’s Day, Halloween and April Fools’ Day.

Get an ASOS birthday discount code

When signing up to ASOS, or any retailer for that matter, make sure to put in all your personal details, including your birthday, for special rewards.

If a retailer knows your birthday, they’ll send you a code two weeks before for you to use on full-price items.

Sign up to the ASOS newsletter

Again, this doesn’t just apply for ASOS, but signing up to newsletters keeps you in the loop with all the latest deals and discounts as soon as they’re announced.

By signing up, you’re usually rewarded with a new customer promo code for money off your first purchase.

Buy from the multipack section

Multipack sections often go unnoticed but they’re a lifesaver for saving money on wardrobe essentials.

For example, a plain white ASOS DESIGN women’s t-shirt costs £8* when bought by itself, but a pack of two t-shirts comes in at £15* and a pack of three comes in at £22*.

Get cheaper delivery

While it’s understandable you wan’t your new product as soon as possible, try and pay for the least expensive delivery option – even if it means waiting an extra day or two for it to arrive.

ASOS offers free Standard Delivery (usually £4.50) on all purchases over £40, too.

Find deals in the sales

If you’re looking for ASOS discounts, make sure you check the outlet.

The ASOS Outlet is great for finding cheap out-of-season stock, just as you’d expect at a regular outlet shop. You can find items with huge discounts of up to 70%.

Rumors swirl over girl’s terrifying plunge from Disney cruise ship before hero dad leapt into water to save her

RUMORS and theories continue to swirl regarding how a little girl went overboard while on a Disney cruise trip with her family.

The girl, five, plunged around 50 feet while the ship was heading back to Florida, prompting her dad to jump into the water and save her.

She fell from the fourth deck of the $900 million Disney Dream vessel on Sunday morning, sparking a frantic rescue mission.

Both the girl and her dad were rescued and brought back to the ship.

But, theories are now swirling over how the girl seemingly fell over the rails.

Pictures taken on board the ship show plexiglass in front of the railings on the fourth deck.

Some passengers claimed the girl was sitting on the railings, while others on board the ship have heavily disputed the claims.

“She was sitting on the rail and he wanted to take a picture, and she fell off,” Gar Frantz told the NBC affiliate WTVJ-TV.

“We were just on that deck.

“And then you saw them throwing, like, life jackets over the sides and stuff.”

Social media users, who claimed they were on board the ship, debunked the theory.

One traveler, Monica Shannon, claimed that a crew member told her the child was climbing the railings.

The staffer apparently told Shannon that the girl’s parents were playing shuffleboard at the time of the accident.

Shannon told The Mail the wind may have contributed to the fall.

Broward County cops in Florida told the CBS affiliate WFOR-TV the child was not being held at the time of the accident.

The girl’s mom cried that her child couldn’t swim after realizing what had happened.

Shannon claimed the girl’s mother was hysterical.

The man overboard alarm blared out and rescue crews sprang into action.

Cruise ships must have technology that detects anyone who may have fallen overboard.

“It’s a kind of infrared technology; it uses heating and sensors to determine when someone goes over,” lawyer Nicholas Gerson told WTVJ.

“It kind of acts like an alarm system.”

The dad treaded water for around 10 minutes before being brought onto the boat.

Float rings were thrown into the water as part of the rescue operation.

Gail Merrick, who was also on board the vessel, which can carry up to 3,500 passengers, said there was a commotion on board with crew members frantically running around.

He gave a thumbs up gesture as he returned to the ship.

Travelers praised the cruise workers for the speed of the response.

“The Disney Cruise Line staff were phenomenal, the crew, everybody was on it,” Brenda Tackett told NBC News.

“You could tell they’ve practiced this, hopefully have never used it before, but they were great.”

The ship, last renovated in 2024, returned to Fort Lauderdale on Monday morning.

It is currently on a five-day round trip to The Bahamas.

Inside Ger Brennan’s life with wife & kids as Louth exit increases rumours he’s set for Dublin job

GER Brennan’s sudden resignation as Louth boss on Tuesday fuelled speculation that he’s set for the Dublin job.

Ever since Dessie Farrell revealed that their defeat to Tyrone was his last game in charge Brennan has been the front-runner to replace him.

As a player, he helped Dublin to the All-Ireland in 2011 and 2013

And that train of thought only gathered further steam when the Wee County announced that Brennan was opting to bring an end to his tenure.

He had completed a two-year term but there was an option for a third. Clearly he would’ve been wanted back having led them to their first provincial title since 1957.

Among those to pinpoint him as the best man for the now vacant Dublin job was Armagh great Aaron Kernan.

He argued: “He would be the obvious one for me. The reality is the success he had with Louth was really just to build Ger’s CV.

“I am sure somewhere down the line that he would have loved to have a go at the Dublin job.

“It may have come a year or two sooner than what he expected but he is the obvious one.

“Maybe Declan D’Arcy, but he is more of a coach. He seemed to build a brilliant rapport with those Dublin players while he was there.

“And maybe a left-fielder in Jason Sherlock or something like that there — but he is more of a coach rather than being the main man.

“I would think Ger would be the frontrunner at this stage if he was to step away from Louth.”

Here, SunSport delves into Brennan’s life beyond the Gaelic football pitch:

WHO IS GER BRENNAN’S WIFE?

His spouse’s name is Aisling and they have four children together.

They got married in Knockanore, county Waterford back in 2017.

After Louth beat Meath in this year’s Leinster Championship decider, Ger noted the significance of where it ranked among the best days of his life.

He hailed: “Between having kids and winning a few All-Irelands, this is right up there.”

WHAT IS GER BRENNAN’S JOB?

According to his LinkedIn page, he’s been employed as a Gaelic Games Development Executive at University College Dublin since 2015.

He previously worked as an Irish and Religion teacher at St Kevin’s College in Dublin 11.

HOW OLD IS GER BRENNAN?

His exact age isn’t publicly available anywhere but he’s likely only in his early to mid 40s considering he played with Dublin until 2015.

Over the course of his nine-year inter-county career the St Vincents clubman lifted Sam Maguire twice. He also retired with five Leinster medals and one All-Star to his name.

Two islanders dumped from Love Island in brutal twist – and they’ve already left the villa

THE ISLANDERS turfed out two of their own in the latest brutal Love Island vote – and the duo have already left the villa.

It’s another savage twist in the series following the arrival of Bilikis Azeez and Ryan Bannister and has left the gang reeling.

The ruthless move happened last night following a mad 24 hours in the Love Island villa.

The bombshells arrived and dated Dejon and Conor, as well as Shakira and Toni, and had heads turning.

The Sun is keeping schtum on how the vote plays out – and who is sent packing – but the action will play out on tonight’s show.

A source said: “Execs continue to throw twists and turns into the series and no one saw this one coming.

“The cast were reeling after this shock move and one ousted Islander in particular will be much missed.”

FANS FUME

It comes after fans were left fuming that no bombshell had been brought in for OG girl Alima Gagigo, as they demanded to know why she’s not being considered.

Commenting on social media after the latest stars were revealed, one wrote: “can they please bring in someone for alima oh my god.”

Another said: “Some good guys need to be brought in for Alima.”

And a third added: “No bombshell for Alima?”

Alima was in a romance with Remell Mullins, but swiftly ended things after learning of his behaviour during a sleepover with Poppy Harrison.

Remell was sent packing in brutal double dumping alongside Megan Forte Clarke last week.

Alima was also caught up in drama between Shakira Khan and Helena Ford, as the fall-out from the Heart Rate Challenge continued.

SHAKE UP

Last week, matchmaking show fans left stunned after a dramatic recoupling ceremony brought unexpected twists and the formation of a brand-new couple.

Love Island viewers are now already backing a new pair as their winners – and even slammed one boy following his brutal confession.

  • Tommy and Emily
  • Shakira and Harry
  • Gio and Yasmin
  • Dejon and Meg
  • Ben and Helena
  • Harrison and Toni
  • Conor and Alima

The mayhem followed Friday night’s emotional dumping, which saw Megan and Remell sent home.

That left Conor and Alima single and vulnerable heading into the next recoupling.

But the biggest surprise of the night was Tommy and Emily finding their way to each other.

They were both recently ditched by their respective partners, Conor and Megan.

Tommy had first pick and in a heartfelt speech, he chose Emily, saying: “Everything happens for a reason.”

Major airline hacked with ‘names, emails, phone numbers and more’ for 6 MILLION passengers stolen in shocking cyber-raid

A MAJOR airline has been hacked with six million passengers’ details stolen in a shocking cyber-raid.

Fraudsters targeted the firm’s call centre and gained access to customers “names, emails, phone numbers and more”.

Qantas said its been subject to a data breach[/caption]

Qantas is Australia‘s largest airline and travels to dozens of national and international destinations.

The company has launched an urgent investigation after detecting a significant cyber attack which compromised the personal data of millions of customers.

“Unusual activity” was discovered on the firm’s system which stores the details of around six million passengers, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates.

The airline reassured customers, however, that personal details like passport numbers, frequent flyer numbers and financial information had not been stolen.

How to get help

In a statement, the airline confirmed it had taken “immediate steps” to contain the threat.

But it warned the full extent of the attack is still being assessed, adding that a “significant” portion of data may have been accessed.

Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson apologised to affected flyers and urged travellers to contact a “dedicated support line” for any help.

She said: “We sincerely apologise to our customers and we recognise the uncertainty this will cause.”

The airline has notified federal authorities, including the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Uptick in stolen data

The data breach comes just days after holidaymakers were warned about a Booking.com scam that cost victims £370,000.

Fraudsters are hacking hotel accounts on the platform and sending fake messages or emails that look legitimate.

This often happens when hotel staff accidentally click on a malicious link in an email, giving criminals access to the hotel’s account on the platform.

Once inside, scammers send messages to customers claiming payment details need to be verified or that a card has been declined.

Avoiding scams

They then trick holidaymakers into entering their banking details via fraudulent links.

Action Fraud has received over 500 reports of the scam between June 2023 and September 2024, with victims collectively losing £370,000 – or £700 per person.

Customers have shared their close calls with the scam on X (formerly Twitter).

One showed a message directly through their Booking.com app which read: “Dear [XXX], we need you confirmation.

“Your reservation and the details you entered are still pending. If you don’t verify and complete everything within the next six hours, your booking will be automatically cancelled – no exceptions.”

The customer is then directed to click on a rogue link in the message chain to “confirm and finalize” their trip – even though it’s already paid for.

Consumer rights expert Martyn James said: “If you get a message from a hotel or host through Booking.com or an email asking for your card details, ignore it.

“Only go through your Booking.com portal on the website to confirm payment details.

“Do not send money via links and never pay with bank transfers or PayPal‘s ‘friends and family’ option.”

What is a cyber attack?

A CYBER attack is any deliberate attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to computer systems, networks, or digital devices.

These attacks can target individuals, businesses, or even governments, and their motives can range from financial gain to political disruption.

Cyber attacks can take many forms, employing various techniques to achieve their malicious goals.

Common types of cyber attacks include:

  • Malware: Malicious software designed to damage or gain control of a system. Examples include viruses, worms, ransomware, and spyware.
  • Phishing: Deceptive attempts to trick individuals into revealing sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, or credit card details, often through fake emails or websites.
  • Denial-of-Service (DoS) Attacks: Flooding a network or server with traffic to overwhelm its resources and make it unavailable to legitimate users.
  • SQL Injection: Exploiting vulnerabilities in website databases to gain unauthorised access to data.
  • Ransomware: Malware that encrypts a victim’s data and demands a ransom for its release.
  • Social Engineering: Manipulating individuals into performing actions or divulging confidential information.

Moment riot cops clash with mob chanting ‘paedo’ as chaos erupts when man arrested over sexual communication with child

HUNDREDS of rioters clashed with police after a man was arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communications with a child.

Shocking footage posted on social media last night showed crowds swarming around officers in Havant, Hampshire, as the 38-year-old was taken into custody.

Chants of “paedo” could be heard as cops armed with riot shields escorted the man into a police van.

One woman shouts “don’t protect the f***ing paedos, protect the kids”, as the vehicle drives off.

Projectiles appear to be launched as officers line up and form barricades to transport the man into the van.

The mob then surrounds the police van before it is able to set off down the road.

The carnage is believed to have erupted after a group of vigilante paedo hunters confronted a man they accused of engaging in sexual communication with a child.

The group have since shared a statement on Facebook slamming the unrest as “totally unacceptable”.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that investigations remain ongoing into the circumstances of the arrest.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers have arrested a 38-year-old man from Havant on suspicion of engaging in sexual communications with a child.

“The man, who was arrested in Middle Park Way in Havant this evening, remains in police custody at the current time.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”

KERRY Katona has opened up about her wish to be friends with her ex husband Brian McFadden – and says what they went through was ‘phenomenal’.

Former singer and TV star Kerry spoke from the heart about her ex during the podcast Meeting… Kerry Katona – and the sadness that has followed.

The Atomic Kitten star, 43, told presenter Matt Foister: “I really wish me and Brian were friends. I said that to Lily yesterday because she was going to [Westlife’s] concert to watch and I said, I wish I could come.”

Revealing her relationship with Brian’s partner Danielle, she said: “I get on really well with his fiancée.

“I think I might have a girl crush on her. I always go off of what my girls say for a stepmum, and she’s the best stepmum.

“On Mother’s Day, I sent her a message. I went, Happy Mother’s Day, Danielle. I think she’s lovely and they’ve got a beautiful little girl, Ruby.

“I wish them nothing but joy and happiness.”

Not being able to keep up with his social media updates, she laughed: “I’m blocked so I can’t see.”

She admitted: “People forget I’ve lived a million lives after Brian, but it was so iconic and it was so public, and people always go on about me and Brian but it was a lifetime ago.

“He is a part of my story and he hates that, but unfortunately it is what it is and I’m grateful to him, because I went through something with Brian that was phenomenal… phenomenal.

“I wish I could sit with him and we could reminisce about it.

“Sometimes I say things in the heat of the moment… maybe one day.

“We went to Molly’s 21st and we were there together, and that was nice.”

Talking about the affect their heavy relationship has on their children, she said: “I’m over all that. It saddens me that my kids feel so uncomfortable if he rings them and I’m in the room, and I find that really sad.

“I’d love nothing more for us all to go for food together. I think that would be great, but it is what it is.

“I have no animosity. I haven’t got the time. My time and energy now at this moment in my life is so precious to me that I have no hatred, no animosity, no dis-harm to anybody, because I’ve not got the time and energy for that. It’s too draining.”

Former pop star Kerry endured a difficult home life followed by an abusive marriage to George Kay, addiction and bankruptcy – but has come out the other side.

The Celebs Go Dating star has found love again after splitting from her fiance Ryan Mahoney.

Westlife singer Brian met his PE teacher partner Danielle Parkinson in 2016 and they got engaged shortly after.

After meeting his long-term love, Brian popped the question shortly after in December 2019.
