I’m a size 22 and found the best day-to-night dress EVER during my food shop, it makes me so snatched & even has pockets

IT can be hard as a curvier woman to find outfits that are both flattering and comfortable.

But one lady, who’s a size 22, says she’s found the perfect one – from her local Tesco.

Louise took to TikTok to share a video of herself in the £22.50 bright pink dress, which features a V-neck and tie at the waist.

“I’m not even exaggerating when I say this is the most flattering dress that I’ve ever tried on,” she said in the clip.

“As soon as I put it on I could feel that my waist went completely in.

“The colour is beautiful. This is cerise pink and obviously you’ve got a bow with it too.”

Another bonus of the dress is that it has pockets, and is perfectly cool to wear when it’s hot outside.

“It is so, so pretty,” she continued.

“I can’t even emphasise how pretty this is.

“Favourite dress of all time. Of all time!”

She praised the “lovely” sizing of the dress, and said it would be perfect to wear as a wedding guest.

“You look stunning & that colour on you is wow,” one person commented on the video.

“Just ordered it – hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!”

“Oh my that colour… stunning!!” another added.

“I think that pink is your colour, you look beautiful,” a third wrote.

“You’re like a Barbie, and I love it,” someone else commented.

“Oops naughty I’ve ordered it!” another giggled.

“Ps I usually wear black so you have convinced me lol!”

How to dress in a heatwave

SUMMER is finally here with temperatures soaring this weekend, but it has been so long since we dressed for the warmer weather - what should we wear? The Sun’s fashion team is here to help with a cut-out-and-keep guide to heatwave attire.

Clemmie Fieldsend and Abby McHale reveal the ultimate dos and don’ts so that you never suffer from unsightly tan lines, sweaty patches or wardrobe malfunctions again.

Cover up
While you might be tempted to put on your skimpiest outfit when the mercury rises above 25C, it has actually been proven that staying covered up can keep you cooler.
We’re not saying wear your winter coat and wrap up. You should wear a light breathable fabric such as cotton – look for flowy midi skirts, dresses or wide leg trousers which will billow and create a nice cool breeze for you as you walk.

Prepare for extremes
With our unpredictable weather, it’s not uncommon to see either someone in hotpants with goose-pimpled legs after an unexpected downpour, or at the other end of the spectrum, someone still wearing their winter tights in 30C heat. When you’re on the fence, opt for a loose co-ord that will keep you cool but not expose you to the elements if it rains.

Wear shorts
Yes, you can wear shorts – and at any age. The key is getting the length just right and longer shorts are all the rage this year. Short shorts are of course allowed but they won’t make you any cooler. If anything, micro-shorts can make you feel hotter. Plus, they are wedgie inducing, often too tight and often show off rather too much bum cheek.

Wear white
White is not the easiest to keep clean but it is the best shade for a heatwave, and looks effortlessly chic. It doesn’t absorb light like black but instead, reflects it. It’s also a shade that never goes out of style. If you do get the odd suncream smear on your whites, quickly dab with hand soap and water, rub in with a brush and then wash as normal.

Don’t show bra straps
Whilst everyone wants to wear strappy clothing in the summer, there really is nothing classy about your bra straps being on show – especially when they’re the opposite colour to your top. Instead, if you are plumping for a strappy top, stick a strapless bra underneath.

Don’t attempt a boob tube
The boob tube has got to be one of the most faffy and unflattering pieces of clothing you can own. Yes, you will avoid shoulder strap tan lines, but you will spend the whole day pulling your top up and trying to keep your boobs in place. Come evening, you will have grubby fingerprints all over and will have no doubt experienced the odd nip slip.

Don’t choose espadrilles
Espadrille wedges were once Kate Middleton’s go-to summer shoe but they have well and truly fallen off the fashion wagon. While noughties ballet flats are back, the espadrille is yet to have its revival. It’s one of those fashion items that Gen Z won’t be seen dead in, and have even dubbed ‘the granny sandal’. For now, opt for a ballet flat or a sandal.

Don’t wear crochet
The crochet trend is nice enough and while it looks great on the likes of Love Island presenter Maya Jama, it’s simply not practical. If the sun is out, chances are, you’ll end up with tragic tan lines like a mosaic. Plus, it’s essentially knitwear – hot and itchy. For men, knitted polos have also crept into the fashion fold, masquerading as summer wear but they are made from synthetic materials and induce swear. Wear at your own risk.

“You really suit that and your hair is stunning,” someone else added.

“Stunning as always.. I’m off to a wedding in August and my 40th, think this is a must, thanks lovely,” another commented.

The dress comes in sizes from six to 22, and also comes in black.

“Made from pure cotton for a breezy feel, this puff sleeved dress is a holiday staple you need in your collection,” Tesco said of the dress on their website.

“Designed with a soft V neckline and flattering tied waist, it’s a relaxed fit piece that you can wear by day or night.

“Style up with statement jewellery and a straw clutch bag.”

Speaking from his car, he told fans: “Hello, now I’ve been asked by quite a few people if I’ve left Channel 5 and why I’ve disappeared from Classic FM. The answer is twofold.”

Reassuring fans that he hasn’t quit either job, Dan explained: “The first is I’m on holiday with the family for a couple of weeks.

“And the second is that I’m filming a new series for Channel 5 which you’ll be able to see I think in September, which I can’t tell you too much about.

“But it’s gonna be great fun. So that’s why I’ve not been on the telly.”

Dan, who presents a Sunday afternoon show on Classic FM, added: “I’ll be back on the radio on Monday, and back on 5 News in a couple of weeks’ time once I’ve finished filming this series.

“There you go. That’s the answer.

“It looks like the lovely weather is over. The rain has returned. Have a great day.”

Dan joined Channel 5 in 2022 after six years fronting BBC Breakfast, where he replaced Bill Turnbull in 2016.

His first show aired on February 29 alongside Louise Minchin.

He later hit headlines when BBC pay disclosures revealed he was earning nearly double that of his female co-host – though Dan pointed out he was working across several programmes.

Before joining Channel 5, the Sheffield-born broadcaster fronted Football Focus for over a decade, and also worked on Match of the Day, Final Score, and BBC Radio 5 Live.

He was a key part of the BBC Sport team during major events including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the Rio 2016 Olympics and Tokyo 2020.

In 2021, he swapped the newsroom for the ballroom, competing in Strictly Come Dancing with pro partner Nadiya Bychkova.

‘Check your flight status’ – Irish jetsetters warned of ‘potential flight disruption’ as industrial action kicks off

IRISH jetsetters have been warned of a “potential flight disruption” as industrial action kicks off.

Ireland’s national airline Aer Lingus said there is a potential impact to flight schedules due to planned industrial action in France this week.

Delays are expected on services to and from France on Wednesday July 2.

The airline says there is also risk of flight cancellations this Thursday and Friday if the strike continues.

They said: “Planned industrial action in France will cause potential disruption to flights to and from France in the coming days.

“Delays are expected to some services on Wednesday 2nd July.

“There is potential for flight cancellations to/from France on Thursday 3rd July and again on Friday 4th July, should industrial action continue.”

All impacted customers will be contacted directly with alternative travel options.

Aer Lingus is now urging passengers to check their flight status regularly for the latest updates.

Jetsetters should also review information about their departure airport to check if there is any local operational issues.

If you booked through a travel agent, online agency or another airline, flight status updates may be sent to them first.

The airline recommends staying informed to avoid unnecessary trips to the airport.

Passengers can find up-to-date details on the Aer Lingus website under flight information.

The airline added: “Any impacted customers will be contacted directly to offer alternative options.”

Meanwhile, Dublin Airport has issued a hand luggage rule reminder for thousands of passengers.

If you’re travelling through this airport this summer, there are certain rules around carrying liquids in your hand luggage you must know.

Passengers are reminded that all liquids must be in containers of 100ml or less in order to pass through security.

These containers must be removed from your bag and placed separately in the security tray when going through screening.

All liquid containers also need to fit inside a single, clear, resealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than one litre.

The airport has taken to Facebook to remind passengers jetting off this summer.

They said: “Flying off this summer? Don’t forget: all liquids in your hand luggage must be in a container that’s 100ml or under taken out of your bag and placed in the tray when going through security screening and placed in a clear one litre plastic bag.”

League of Ireland fans poke fun at Bohs’ new Oasis jersey collab with surprise cameo from Daniel O’Donnell

LEAGUE of Ireland fans comically respond to the announcement of Bohemians new FAI Cup jersey collaboration with Oasis.

Bohs unveiled the newest of their jersey collabs yesterday and LOI fans were quick to make witty comments regarding the announcement.

Rival Shelbourne fans decided to side with Oasis rivals Blur[/caption]

The jersey will be debuted in Alan Reynold’s side’s FAI Cup Round Two clash ‘away’ to Killester Donneycarney FC on 18 July.

Fans of rival teams were fast in making their own concept bands and artists jerseys for their clubs.

A fan of Shelbourne, X user Andrew was quick to side with Oasis major rival during the mid-90s, Blur.

The two North Dublin derby clubs appear to have sided with opposite bands in the “Battle of Britpop” to have on their jerseys.

A Finn Harps fan weighed in on the topic with X user Ryan sharing his ideal Harps jersey with Donegal native Daniel O’Donnell taking up a large portion of the jerseys front.

Unlike the ‘BOHASIS’ collab, at least Harps and O’Donnell have a connection with the famous Irish singer being born in Kincasslagh Co. Donegal and having shown his support for the club in the past.

The responses stretched as far as Belfast where NIFL Premiership side Cliftonville’s fans were particularly unhappy.

In the jersey announcement Bohs claimed to be “Ireland’s oldest football club.”

Cliftonville fans were quick to correct them as the current Northern Ireland Football League Cup holders were formed eleven years before the Phibsborough based club in 1879.

The official X account of the North Belfast based club replied to the claim with a puzzled emoji.

Red’s fan, X user Barry was quick to parody the jersey collab by photoshopping Irish rebel music band Wolfe Tones on the jersey of Ireland’s actual oldest active professional football club.

One fan made a jibe at the fact Oasis disbanded in 2009, the same year Bohemians won their last league title and last league cup.

The fan said “2009. The year Oasis fell apart. The year Bohs fell apart.” Bohs have only two Leinster Senior Cups and a Setanta Cup in 2010 to show for their following 16 years of football.

Club World Cup manager sacked after dismal tournament and losing to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami

PORTO have ruthlessly sacked Martin Anselmi after just SIX months.

The Argentine was installed as Vitor Bruno‘s successor at the Estadio Dragao in January.

The Argentine has been given the boot after just six months in charge of the club[/caption]

But he oversaw a torrid run of form for the Portuguese giants, winning just ten of his 21 matches in charge.

Porto‘s poor domestic form continued in the Club World Cup, where they picked up a measly two points from three group matches.

And Anselmi, who guided Porto to a third-placed Primeira Liga finish last season, has paid the price for the team’s woeful run, which culminated with a defeat to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

A snippet of a club statement read: “FC Porto – Futebol, SAD informs that it has begun negotiations with coach Martín Anselmi to terminate the sports employment contract that has been in force since January 2025.”

Anselmi, 39, revealed that he was hoping to make additions to his squad just days before his axing.

He said late last month: “This season didn’t go well.

“We didn’t achieve any of FC Porto’s goals.

“We have to take advantage of the market to put together a good squad and correct some mistakes so we can attack next season.”

Porto reportedly already have a replacement for Anselmi, who failed to stop the club’s bitter rivals Sporting Lisbon from winning their 21st domestic title, lined up.

It’s claimed the club have earmarked Francesco Farioli as their new manager.

Farioli guided Ajax to a second-placed Eredivisie finish last season, with his troops being pipped to the title by fierce rivals PSV Eindhoven by a mere point.

I got chart-topping singer to draw me a doodle mid-gig and now it’s my first ever tattoo – I never thought she’d say yes

A MUSIC lover was left stunned after a chart-topping singer drew her a picture mid-gig – and now has it tattooed on her wrist.

Ellie, 26, was front of the crowd at Jess Glynne’s Helix Park concert in Falkirk on June 14.

The diehard fan made sure she was front of the crowd so she could hold up her sign “Jess please can you draw my first tattoo?”.

And Ellie, from Dundee, Scotland, was stunned when the huge popstar spotted her request and paused her performance to oblige.

In a short clip shared to Ellie’s TikTok page (@elliesleevejourney), Jess can be heard saying “What do you want it to say?” as she sat down with a pen on stage.

She continued: “You want a heart? Do you guys mind if I just quickly do a heart?”

The crowd screamed excitedly while superstar Jess finished her doodle and handed it to a security worker to pass back to Ellie.

Posing with the precious piece of paper, delighted Ellie said afterwards: “The rain and wait were worth it. Thank you Jess.”

Less than a week later she had the heart-shaped drawing and kisses turned into an inking on her wrist.

Ellie showed off the finished result on social media and gushed “my first tattoo drawn by Jess herself”.

It’s not the first time that the Scots fan has grabbed the I’ll Be There singer’s attention during a gig either.

She told Fabulous: “She also signed my jacket last year in Margate during the show! And posted the photo on Instagram.”

Global sensation Jess has seven No1 singles under her belt, landing the record for the most chart-toppers by a British woman in the UK, and her past two albums went straight to the top spot.

While she prefers the quieter life, the singer knows the power of her music puts her firmly in the spotlight.

Her huge 2015 No1, Hold My Hand, the theme tune for Jet2holidays ads, recently went viral thanks to stars such as Kim Kardashian and daughter North lip-syncing to it on TikTok.

Jess said: “It is such an amazing thing, though. Great songs stand the test of time.

“You don’t write a song to last three minutes, you write a song to last for 300 years.”

Brother Kevin Crowley dies aged 90 after devoting life to people in need & founding Dublin’s Capuchin Day Centre

BROTHER Kevin Crowley, the founder of the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People in Dublin City, has passed away aged 90.

The esteemed humanitarian died in the early hours of this morning in the “wonderful care” of staff at Mount Desert Nursing Home in Co Cork.

Brother Kevin was a Capuchin Friar who devoted his life to supporting people living in poverty and in food need.

He founded the Capuchin Day Centre on Bow Street in Dublin in 1969 after he found several people eating food out of bins on the street.

His wish was to make a change and help others.

Now, the centre provides over 1,000 hot meals each day, more than 1,450 food parcels each week, clothing and day care facilities for people who are homeless and in need.

Brother Kevin said the most important daily concern was the dignity and respect of each person availing of the services provided by the Centre.

A notice on the Capuchin Franciscans’ website this afternoon reads: “With great sadness we announce the death of our Capuchin confrere, Brother Kevin Crowley OFM Cap.

“Brother Kevin died early this morning (02 July 2025) in the wonderful care of Mount Desert Nursing Home in Cork.

“He was known throughout the country and beyond as a Brother to the poor, particularly through his work in the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People which he founded on Bow Street, Dublin in 1969.

“Through his ministry and life as a Capuchin Friar, Brother Kevin opened his heart and his hands to serve those most in need.”

Brother Kevin returned to his native west Cork in 2022, after spending 53 years of his life serving the community in Dublin.

And reflecting on the over five decades the service was run, the only regret of Brother Kevin was that the centre and its services are still needed in the city.

Stephen Hendry snubs Ronnie O’Sullivan as he names his top 5 favourite snooker players to watch

STEPHEN HENDRY has snubbed Ronnie O’Sullivan in his pick for most entertaining snooker player.

The six-time world champion is a big admirer of The Rocket and confessed he always wants to commentate on his matches.

But there are several snooker stars Hendry is fond of, including his idol Jimmy White.

Hendry, 56, says White’s style and the shots he produced in his prime helped him fall in love with snooker.

He named White fifth in his top five list however, behind Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski, who place fourth and third respectively.

Hendry is a big fan of Trump’s power and his breakbuilding abilities, while he believes Lisowski is reminiscent of O’Sullivan, albeit without the wins.

That leaves the top two, and although Hendry believes O’Sullivan is the best player of all time, he is still not his favourite to watch.

He said on the WST’s Snooker Club podcast: “Number two, this could be controversial, Ronnie O’Sullivan.

“If Ronnie is in a tournament and I get my rota for commentating, I always hope to be on his matches.

“He’s the greatest player of all-time. Break-building, cue ball control, if you don’t like watching that then you don’t like watching snooker. When he’s on he plays the game perfectly, basically.”

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

Hendry then went on to make a shock revelation, naming Thepchaiya Un-Nooh as his number one favourite.

The Scot continued: “Thepchaiya Un-Nooh is my favourite player to watch. Unbelievable talent.

“He beat me 6-1 once in the UK Championship qualifiers, he had five centuries and I don’t think any of them took more than seven or eight minutes. The cue ball was on a string, it was absolute perfection.

“How he’s where he’s ranked in the world…talent isn’t enough on its own to be successful and he proves it because he’s got bucket loads of talent.

“I love watching him play. It’s all-out attack, he refuses nothing. Incredible talent, incredible player, incredible speed.”
