I’m horrified by what an Etsy seller did to my beautiful wedding bouquet – people agree it looks ‘awful & tacky’

WEDDING flowers are often very poignant for a bride – and so to prevent them from being ruined, many people look to preserve their blooms so they can keep them.

One woman who was desperate to cherish her gorgeous autumnal bouquet forever immediately sent hers off to be preserved.

Chiara Resnick shared how she had selected an Etsy seller who specialised in preserving bridal bouquets.

However, when she received the flat-lay frame back, she was horrified at the finished result.

On her @ciararesnick account, she shared photos of the flowers looking beautiful on her wedding day, and then how they looked once preserved.

She wrote: “My beautiful wedding bouquet that I sent to an Etsy seller to preserve.

“If I don’t laugh about it, I’ll cry.”

The preserved bunch looked rather squished in the frame and a tad sad-looking compared to how they had looked on the day.

Over 53,000 people have liked her video, and many rushed to the comment to share their view on her wedding ‘fail.’

Many said how they thought it looked “awful” and “tacky.”

One said: “I’d be SUINGGGGGGGGG.”

A second added: “Noooooo. Noooooo. Please tell me you didn’t send the whole bouquet???”

A third agreed: “they look like coffee filters, i’m so sorry.”

Meanwhile, some didn’t think it was as bad as she thought.

One person commented: “I think it looks good? I mean its like pressed flowers??”

However, one person explained what they thought had happened for it to turn out as it did.

They shared: “It’s because they were pressed whole, instead of petals Bering done separately.

“Whole can be done but tbh these look like they had a rough go in a microwave press or am.”

FLOWER PRESERVING

It’s possible to preserve your flowers yourself at home after your wedding – but you may wish to rely on a professional you trust.

The first step is to dry your flowers while they still look nice, ideally the day after your wedding with them being in water overnight.

Remove flowers from the bouquet so they can dry separately hung upside down in a cool, dry place.

Flowers can be pressed in a professional press or in a large weighted object.

You should use absorbent paper such as kitchen roll or blotting paper if pressing between a book.

Keep in a cool dry spot for a minimum of four weeks before seeing if they have fully dried.

An alternative method could be to preserve flowers in silica gel or resin.

Average cost of a wedding in 2025

  • Food – £6,000
  • Honeymoon – £4,329
  • Wedding outfits – £3,500
  • Entertainment – £2,000
  • Engagement ring – £1,948
  • Flowers – £1,110
  • Wedding ring – £1,000
  • Wedding transport – £700

Total = £20,587

The Location

The creator of Total Ninja is to open a new slide park at a mixed-use scheme after agreeing a “landmark deal” with asset manager Altered Space.

Rocafella Leisure Group has secured 25,000 sq ft of space at the Cockhedge development in Warrington.

Warrington sits on the banks of the River Mersey and it is 16 miles east of Liverpool and the same distance west of Manchester.

The town was founded by the Romans and by the Middle Ages, Warrington had emerged as a market town at the lowest bridging point of the River Mersey.

Rocafella Leisure Group, known for its innovative and immersive family-friendly entertainment experiences, was the creator of the UK’s first and largest ninja park, Total Ninja.

And they are now set to introduce a new Slide Park to the Cockhedge development.

The new attraction, which has been named Slidie Sliderson, will deliver a high-energy entertainment experience for all ages.

And the move is expected to draw an additional 150,000 visitors annually.

The transformation of Cockhedge

Founder and managing director of Rocafella Leisure Group, Chris Hayes, said: “What drew us to Cockhedge was the clear vision for revitalisation and the opportunity to be part of a transformative development.

“The regeneration aligns with our mission to create unique, innovative, family-friendly destinations.

“The location is ideal for Slidie Sliderson, which brings a fresh, innovative attraction to the North West of England with never-before-seen attractions.

“We are keen to add to the local community, and we will be creating 35 to 40 new jobs as well as looking to support local junior sports clubs by striking up strategic partnerships.”

The venue is said to “deliver a high-energy entertainment experience” for all ages.

The transformation of Cockhedge is a key part of a broader initiative to revitalise Warrington’s town centre.

Michael Brown, director and co-founder at Altered Space, added: “This letting to Rocafella Leisure Group is a fundamental piece of the long-term vision for Cockhedge and the regeneration of Warrington town centre.

“It perfectly underscores our commitment to delivering a commercially sustainable scheme that enhances Warrington’s town centre offering.”

Other new attractions

Centre Parcs has opened a new treetop experience at one of their holiday parks in the UK – the first of its kind for the resort.

Opening at Longleat on July 1, Adventure Nets allows families to “bounce, balance, leap and climb through the stunning redwood canopy”, according to Center Parcs.

And a holiday park group in the UK has revealed some of the exciting new additions coming to the resorts as part of a multi-million revamp.

Plus, the UK’s first Universal theme park has taken a huge step closer to opening.

Online forms for people to register interest in working at the new Universal theme park have been distributed online.

And a huge £2.3 billion theme park with seven theme lands is set to open in winter sun destination by 2028.

Teacher who downed booze from water bottle in ‘mini rave’ lesson and called her pupils ‘little s***s’ is struck off

A SHAMED teacher downed booze from a water bottle in a “mini rave” lesson and called her pupils “little s***s”.

Alice Ashton blared loud music in the PSE lesson and shouted and danced in front of shocked students.

Pupils at Ysgol Bro Caereinion school in Welshpool, Powys, raised concerns after smelling alcohol coming from Ashton’s Evian bottle.

The teacher has now been struck off following a fitness to practice hearing.

A panel heard the “out of control” lesson took place in January last year – just four months after Ashton was convicted of drink-driving.

One 16-year-old pupil told the hearing that Ashton often taught “boring” PSE lessons about alcohol and drug awareness.

But on that day, the teacher was drinking booze from an Evian water bottle filled with an orange liquid.

The teen, named only as Pupil H, said the bottle was full at the start of class but almost empty by the end.

She added: “She was very, very close to us. There was a slight alcoholic smell. She was very, very lively and quite animated and speaking with her hands. In other lessons she was more reserved and quiet.

“Alice Ashton had an Evian bottle with orange juice. I noticed she was regularly taking swigs from the bottle.

“I recall Alice Ashton asked the class to make the Macarena. She played music and we were not doing work.”

The student said Ashton “kept jumping up from her desk” but became “irritated” as the lesson went on.

She repeatedly swore and called the whole class “little s***s”.

One schoolboy was walking around the classroom “annoying” his classmates when the teacher told him to leave but “not snitch”, it was said.

Pupil H said: “She began to swear at him. She put her middle finger two to three inches from his face and continued to swear at him.”

Another student told the panel that Ashton forced the class to do the Macarena and “did not care about the lesson anymore”.

The pupil added: “She got some students dancing to the laptop and speakers and it spiralled out of control.”

Ashton later told an internal school review that she did not sing to the pupils or swear.

But CCTV footage unravelled her lies, the Education Workforce Council panel said.

Presenting officer Lewis Harrison said: “It is totally untenable to suggest the music is being played as background music.

“The evidence is very clear that Miss Ashton did not remain at the front of the class. She invited pupils to dance.”

The disciplinary panel said Ashton, who has not responded to the findings, had shown no remorse or apology.

She did however email the EWC to say she now lived in England and no longer worked as a teacher.

The panel found she appeared under the influence and/or smelt of alcohol whilst at work.

Ashton was struck off the teaching register indefinitely but may reapply in two years.

World’s largest manmade island airport size of a TOWN being built…& it’s big enough for every single Brit to fly through

CHINA is steaming ahead with building the world’s largest man-made island airport.

The town-sized travel hub will sit off the country’s northeast coast and process 80 million passengers each year – more than the entire UK population.

Around 80 million passengers will pass through the terminals when it is completed[/caption]

The Dalian Jinzhouwan Bay International Airport will cover 20-square-kilometres out in the Bohai Sea when completed.

First flights are expected on the runway in 2035, with capacity winding up to around 540,000 flights each year.

When construction of the four runways is completed, Dalian will surpass Hong Kong International Airport and Japan’s Kansai Airport to become the world’s largest airport hosted on an artificial island.

A recent post to the project’s social media said: “The country’s largest offshore airport is rising slowly from the sea level like the sunrise in the east.”

However, progress has not been plain sailing.

The engineer running the project, Li Xiang, said in October: “There have been great challenges to the construction as the project has complex geological conditions, high drilling difficulty and high demand in quality with a tight construction schedule.”

The international travel hub will open with an initial passenger capacity of 43 million annually – but that is expected to double as construction completes.

The new airport addresses limitations at the existing Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport.

Operating for almost a century, the current airport was built during the Japanese occupation and has reached its maximum possible capacity after several recent expansions.

Last year, it served 658,000 international passengers.

Dalian Zhoushuizi sits in a valley surrounded by mountains, which means more planes cannot safely be introduced to the airspace.

The difficult terrain has made navigation challenging for pilots, particularly in poor weather conditions, and the airport has reached its capacity limit after multiple expansions.

The offshore placement of Jinzhouwan Airport solves these challenges by providing more space for expansion and enhancing safety measures, the South China Morning Post reports.

Dalian, in northeastern China, has long been a thriving coastal city with a population of around 7.5 million.

Its strategic port location has led to it becoming is hub for trade with neighbouring Japan and South Korea – and it plays a key role in the oil refining, shipping, logistics, and tourism industries.

The new airport aims to bolster these industries further by improving connectivity and positioning Dalian as a regional air transport hub.

Bigger airports are also a cornerstone of China’s wider aviation ambitions.

The country is on track to surpass the US as the world’s largest air travel market – and massive new infrastructure is needed to accommodate that.

Beijing’s second airport, Daxing (PKX), opened to great fanfare on in October 2019 – the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

At the time, Chinese officials said the country would need 450 airports by 2035, nearly doubling the current count.

Man, 50s, arrested by gardai investigating murder of OAP strangled to death in Tipperary home as probe ‘ongoing’

A MAN, aged in his 50s, has been arrested by gardai investigating the death of an 89-year-old woman who was strangled to death in 2024.

A murder investigation was launched after Josephine ‘Josie’ Ray was found dead at her home in St Joseph’s Park in Nenagh, Co Tipperary on August 4 2024.

In a statement this morning, a garda spokesperson confirmed the arrested man is being quizzed in relation to the investigation.

A statement said: “Gardai in Nenagh continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman, whose body was discovered at a residence at St Joseph’s Park, Nenagh, County Tipperary, on the afternoon of Sunday, 4th August 2024.

“A male in his 50s was arrested today, Thursday 3rd July 2025 in relation to this investigation.

“He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Josie was remembered as a “true lady” who was “one of a kind” at her funeral mass at St Mary of the Rosary Church in Nenagh last year.

Josie’s granddaughter Rosie broke down as she spoke with great affection about her granny who loved dancing, style and jewellery.

She told mourners: “My nanny Josie as we all knew her was a lady.

“She loved her style. Always in glitter. She loved her jewellery.

“She was some woman for dancing and anything that was on in town she would be at it with my mother Sarah. Always up for a laugh and a dance.

“She had a great heart. She always said to me, ‘Rosie I will never forget you for doing that’.

“Just the little things I would do for her like going to the shop and making cups of tea. She really appreciated everything.”

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz look loved up in photos that ‘sparked family feud rumours’ after missing David’s 50th

BROOKLYN Beckham and Nicola Peltz look smitten in a new fashion campaign after the shoot sparked rumours of a family feud.

The pair flew to London for the advertising campaign in May, days after snubbing his dad David’s 50th birthday celebrations.

David and Victoria were heartbroken when Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed the birthday celebrations[/caption]

It came after they missed David’s 50th party in Miami, his fishing trip with his Cruz and Romeo, an intimate dinner at their Cotswolds home and his star-studded birthay bash in London.

Sources said the snub was a “dagger to the heart” for his parents.

Two weeks later the couple, who live in Los Angeles, jetted to London for the Moncler shoot but failed to meet up with Brooklyn’s family.

The photos for the Italian fashion brand have finally been released and show Brooklyn snuggling into Nicola in a series of romantic moments.

The Sun revealed they landed the six figure deal with the designer firm and shot the photos minutes away from the Beckhams’ home in West London.

They were also up the road from where David was, attending the Chelsea Flower Show with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

An insider said at the time: “Brooklyn and David couldn’t have been closer in distance.

“It strikes a chord knowing how close in distance Brooklyn was to David given how tense their relations have been recently.

“Brooklyn was filming five minutes away by car.”

Rumours about a feud with the Beckham clan and Nicola, 30, have circulated since her £3million wedding to Brooklyn, 26, in Florida.

Since then, the alleged clash has intensified after Brooklyn snubbed all four parties that were thrown for his ex-footballer dad David to celebrate his birthday.

This week, more upset was caused when photos were shared showing Brooklyn enjoying a party for his father-in-law, Nelson Peltz’s birthday.

NICOLA HITS BACK

Nicola wrote how “lucky” she was to be his daughter before adding that he provided them with “constant love and support”.

Now Brooklyn and his family’s fans have waded in.

The post received backlash from Beckham supporters, with some accusing Nicola of “controlling her husband.

However, there were also supportive messages, with one fan writing: “The fact people are in this comment section talking bs about someone controlling a GROWN man is absurd.

“The guy is an adult and can make his own decisions, leave them be and stop blaming women for everything.”

Nicola then was seen “liking” the comment, as she agreed with what the fan was saying.

In another twist, Brooklyn was recently backed by his godfather Sir Elton John.

Aspiring chef Brooklyn posted a photo with wife Nicola last week, which got Elton’s approval.

Elton wrote: “Happy Anniversary to the sweetest, most loving couple,” followed by love hearts, and his husband David added his own comment, which read: “Happy Anniversary to the gorgeous couple.”

Elton is Brooklyn’s godfather and they’re very close, regularly going on trips abroad together over the years.

Both Victoria and David failed to comment on or like their son’s anniversary post.

It was recently revealed that the situation has become so severe that Brooklyn is no longer on speaking terms with his siblings.

This week The Sun revealed David was in hospital for a secret operation on his wrist.

Wife Victoria shared a pic from his hospital bedside, writing “get well soon daddy”.
