Met Eireann thunderstorm alert TODAY and pinpoint summer sunshine turn & 22C blast amid deadly Europe heatwave warnings

MET Eireann has warned that parts of Ireland will be blasted by “unseasonably unsettled” conditions and thunderstorms.

It will start cloudy in the north today before scattered showers turn heavier and scattered showers of heavy rain move in.

It will be much of the same across the rest of the country today minus those thunderstorms with wet and cloudy weather.

However, the north will be hit worst by those wet and somewhat stormy conditions today.

Alan O’ Reilly of Carlow Weather said: “A nice bright start in Southeast but cloud for many and cloud will increase with showers, most of the showers will be in Northern areas.”

Temperatures will max out between 16C to 21C temperatures today before a drop to 9C overnight.

And cloud and rain will continue overnight, again with the north fairing the worst with the most cloud build up.

Tomorrow will take an unseasonable turn as “strong and gusty” winds begin to build.

Met Eireann’s Liz Walsh warned: “Unseasonably unsettled conditions tomorrow Friday in fact, especially in parts of the west and north.”

There will be bright intervals at points tomorrow as temperatures reach 19C but they will be accompanied by outbreaks of rain.

It will remain breezy overnight on Friday but staying mild as temperatures only drop a few notches to 16C.

However, mist and fog will develop through tomorrow night.

And it will remain a mixed bag into the weekend but temperatures will jump to nearly the mid 20s.

However, windy conditions will linger into Saturday and Sunday and forecasters confirmed it will be wet.

Met Eireann said: “Mostly cloudy on Saturday with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

“While a few bright spells will develop, it’ll stay rather cloudy overall.

“Highest temperatures of 16C to 22C, warmest in the south and east, where it will feel quite mild and humid, in mostly moderate, occasionally fresh and gusty west to southwest winds.

“A few clear spells, but generally cloudy on Saturday night, with scattered showers, heaviest and most frequent in the west and north.

“Lowest temperatures of 10C to 12C in moderate westerly winds, fresh near Atlantic coasts.”

And then Sunday will be cloudy to begin before outbreaks of rain and drizzle spread across the country.

It will brighten up into the evening but temperatures will only reach around 19C.

HOT TWIST

However, Met Eireann have promised a turn to more summery conditions from next week.

Temperatures across the country are expected to rise to above average in sunny spells.

And meteorologists have even pinpointed where will see the best of the summer turn.

The weather bosses said: “Temperatures looks set to recover to average or slightly above towards midweek as winds back around to the southwest.

“Showers remain possible with the best of drier and sunnier conditions in the south and east.”

EUROPEAN HELL

It comes as several parts of mainland Europe remain under severe temperature alerts amid a deadly heatwave.

Mercury has reached 46C in parts of Spain while Italy, France and Portugal have also been sizzling in over 40C.

Several areas in France were placed under the highest possible alert as France’s ecology transition minister Agner Pannier-Runacher said: “This is unprecedented.”

In Italy, outdoor work has been banned during peak hours following several outdoor labourers collapsing or even dying amid the extreme heat.

And the heatwave also turned deadly in Spain after a two-year-old child died after being left in a car during the dangerous temperatures.

Several areas of Spain remain under weather alerts today after Aemet issued over 100 weather alerts earlier this week.

Temperatures are expected to reach 42C in parts of Spain again today.

Tributes have poured in from the adult entertainment industry[/caption]

Now, it has been revealed the actress died following a suspected overdose, TMZ reports, citing law enforcement sources.

Cops reportedly found fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia in her home when they called round.

A concerned friend first raised the alarm and prompted emergency teams to visit Kylie’s Hollywood home.

But the fire department tragically found Kylie lifeless when they arrived at the scene.

An overdose is the running theory, but the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed – though foul play is not suspected.

She passed away on June 25 – just one day after her final social media post.

Since joining the adult industry in 2016, Kylie starred in more than 200 adult movies from major production houses including Brazzers, Naughty America and various Vixen Media Group brands.

She also featured in the Netflix series “Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On” in 2017, in which she openly discussed her struggle with substance abuse.

A GoFundMe has been set up by Kylie’s family to bring her body back to from California to the Midwest and to cover funeral costs.

The appeal reads: “Kylie was a daughter who loved hard, a sister who never let go, and a friend who showed up without being asked.

“She was the kind of person who made you feel like family — no matter who you were.

“We lost her too soon, and now her family is trying to bring her home from California to the Midwest — to lay her to rest surrounded by friends and family.”

More than $10,000 has so far been donated.

Leading adult content producer Brazzers said: “The Brazzers team is deeply saddened to learn of Kylie Page’s passing. Kylie will be remembered for her laughter, kindness and bringing light wherever she went.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Kylie’s family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.”

Leah Gotti, a fellow adult star and a close friend of Page told AVN she was “terribly sad” by the tragic news.

She added: “I just think, overall, she was a [happily] infectious person.

“She was really light and bright and she just loved to smile, laugh, and really valued living life to the fullest and being free as much as possible.”

Alex Mack of Hussie Models said: “Losing Kylie is truly heartbreaking.

“She was a kind soul, a wonderful friend, and always brought warmth and energy wherever she went.

“That’s exactly how I’ll always remember her, full of life and kindness.”

After learning the sad news, one fan said online: “Kylie’s spirit and energy will live on and brighten our world.”

Instagram followers loved seeing her more fashionable side being debuted on the course while promoting this week’s showpiece event on the Irish golfing calendar.

Maddy hailed: “Absolutely slayyyy”. In a similarly empowering message, Valerie Wheeler of RTE commented: “Girl, you are fire!”

Olivia branded her a “model” while Ana praised: “That jumpsuit with the red shoes is badass.”

The KPMG Women’s Irish Open tees off today for the fourth year running since its 10-year hiatus.

Maguire reckons she is hitting form at the right time as the 30-year-old has finished in the top 20 in her last two events.

And Maguire — one of 16 Irish players in the field — said: “It’s always one of my favourite events of the year.

“It’s nice to be back at Carton House. I feel like my game has been shaping up quite nicely.

“I feel I had a good run at KPMG PGA Women’s Championship and then a slightly different format last week with the team event, but I feel I have some good momentum heading into this week.

“It’s nice to play in front of home fans and hopefully give them something to cheer about.”

Maguire tees off at 9am, alongside Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist and Clare amateur Áine Donegan.

Last year 37,000 spectators flooded Carton House to set a record attendance for the event.

Maguire was the highest Irish finisher in tied 15th at the 2024 edition, nine shots off the winner Annabel Dimmock who is competing again this year.

The pair will be joined by Charley Hull, Georgia Hall, Nordqvist, Madelene Sagström and many more stars out on the course.

There will also be a record number of Irish players – 16 in total, including seven professionals and nine amateurs – competing in Kildare.

Maguire will be joined by fellow Irish competitors Olivia Mehaffey, Sara Byrne, Lauren Walsh, Annabel Wilson, Anna Foster, and Canice Screene.

An Irish golfer is yet to win in the competition’s 30-year history.

When speaking to RTÉ Maguire spoke highly of the competition saying: “I think it’s testament to the investment KPMG have put into the event over the last number of years.

“Since it came back at Dromoland a couple of years ago (2022) the tournament has really elevated and built year-on-year.

“We have increased numbers of spectators and obviously the increase in the number of top quality players coming over.

“Anna Nordqvist, Charley Hull, they’re a little bit taken aback when they see the number of Irish fans that come out.

“Even this week I’ve had a few friends taking pictures beside Luas signs of me and it’s a bit surreal at times. It’s one of the pinnacle events and one of the premier events on the Ladies European Tour.”
