A former Premier League club has been hit with a transfer embargo just weeks after the window opened.
And the ban has been bestowed upon the Championship club less than a MONTH after their new manager was appointed.

Hull City have been slapped with a three-window transfer embargo for their failure to pay a loan fee.
The EFL informed the Tigers of their punishment, which comes into effect today, on Monday.
The three-window ban means City won’t be able to sign players until the 2027 January transfer window.
Hull chiefs are set to appeal the decision, which has seen them join Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday on the transfer ban list.
They’re confident the EFL will reduce the sanction upon reviewing the necessary paperwork and reading their explanation for the non-payment of the fee.
The transfer embargo means Hull won’t be able to sign players unless they’re free agents or included in deals which don’t involve a fee.
Hull, who beat the Championship drop last season by goal difference, have yet to issue a statement on the embargo.

The transfer embargo will be a major headache for new Tigers gaffer Sergej Jakirovic, who replaced Ruben Selles in June.
Tigers chairman Acun Ilicali said of the appointment: “After a thorough and extensive recruitment process alongside Mustafa Yokes, Jared Dublin and Martin Hodge, we are delighted to secure the services of Sergej.
“We believe in the football that he will bring to the MKM Stadium for us and importantly, he has proven himself to be a winner throughout his career.
“My dream for our club has never changed from the first day I took over, and I believe in Sergej as we look forward to the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship campaign together as one family.”

Thailand is about to crank up the volume. The world’s most famous electronic dance festival, Tomorrowland, is finally coming to Asia — and Chon Buri is set to become the epicentre of a billion-baht party. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), confirmed the blockbuster news this week. “Tomorrowland has decided to …
Little Ella was fatally injured in the crash, which took place shortly after 6.30pm on Wednesday, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Her mother was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital following the crash and later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, where she died yesterday evening.
Ms McLaughlin, who was in her 20s, was well-known in her native Carndonagh where she worked as a nurse in a local doctor’s surgery.
She qualified with a Bachelor of Science in Adult Nursing from Ulster University and began working as a Registered Nurse in 2022.
Ella’s father, who is in his 30s, and her two-year-old sister are being treated in hospitals in Derry and Belfast for non-life threatening injuries.
It is understood the driver of the van, a man aged in his late teens, did not sustain serious injuries.
Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen Municipal Authority, Councillor Martin McDermott, who knows the family personally, said the loss of both a young girl and her mother is particularly poignant.
He said: “Words fall short at this time, what can anybody say? They are such a lovely family and so well respected in our local community.
“It’s just devastating. The loss of anybody on our roads is difficult for any community to take.
“But the loss of a mother and daughter, particularly given the fact that they are so young, is even more poignant and more difficult to accept.
“People are just numb and there is very little I can add to that other than to keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.”
Donegal Councillor Joy Beard told how it’s the kind of news that “stops you in your tracks and breaks your heart in two”.
‘SHOCK & DISBELIEF’
She added: “This is an unimaginable loss for their family, friends and all who knew them and for our wider community.
“Inishowen is once again plunged into grief.
“Please keep their loved ones in your heart, thoughts and prayers as they face this unbearable sorrow.”
Parish priest of Carndonagh, Fr Con McLaughlin, went to the hospital in Derry yesterday to meet relatives of the crash victims.
He said: “In the community there is a shock and a disbelief. One can only imagine what the family are going through and I witnessed that pain in the hospital last night.
“The scene in the hospital was just so, so sad. You had doctors and nurses running around trying to do their best to help these poor helpless people. It is something I will never, ever forget.
“I just wanted to be a presence there for the family and I did not speak too much but I just wanted them to know that we are all there for them.”
‘OUR HEARTS ARE BROKEN’
Road Victim Support Northern Ireland-Donegal also extended its sympathies to the family and the wider community.
It said: “Our hearts are broken for this young family, for their loved ones, and for the entire Carndonagh and Inishowen community, who are now grieving the unimaginable loss of both a mother and child.
“There are no words that can ease the suffering of a family or community facing such a profound tragedy. We can only stand with them in their grief and offer our continued support.
“We also extend our thoughts to all those affected by this collision, including the other individuals involved, emergency responders, medical teams, and the wider community who are struggling to come to terms with this loss.”
The group said it is on hand to offer emotional, practical, and advocacy support to individuals, families, and communities impacted by the tragedy.
It added: “Let us all hold this grieving family in our hearts tonight and in the difficult days ahead.”
INFO APPEAL
Gardai continue to investigate all aspects of the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
Head of the Garda Traffic Corps in Co Donegal, Inspector Sean McDaid asked any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area between 6pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday 2nd July, 2025, to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
The R240 is one of the main thoroughfares connecting north Inishowen and Co Donegal and reopened yesterday evening following a technical examination of the crash scene.
The tragedy comes after four people – three men and a woman – were hospitalised following a two-car crash outside Carndonagh on the same road in January.
The collision took place on Thursday, January 2 just before 7pm, close to Glentogher National School.
Late last year, Donegal teen Tiernan Doherty-Kelly, 18 was killed when the car he was driving left the road near Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula at around 5am on the morning of Sunday, December 1.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene on the R244, known locally as the Mountain Road, at Ballinlough in Donegal.

ENZO MARESCA has left heartbroken Pedro Neto to decide if he can face up to football on Saturday following the tragic death of Diogo Jota.
Chelsea’s Portuguese winger sat out training after hearing of the fatal accident involving his former club and country team-mate yesterday.

The Blues face Palmeiras in the quarter-final of the Club World Cup and Neto has been one of the standout players of the tournament.
But boss Maresca said: “Pedro is very sad. Probably more than sad, but we are close to Pedro, to support him this morning.
“It’s completely Pedro’s decision, I had a chat this morning, We support him. Any decision he takes is the right one, we will support him in any case. If on the pitch tomorrow or not, we will support him.
“It’s a very sad day. I struggle to find words, it’s very difficult, the feeling that you have is helpless in this situation.
“The only thing I can say is all my love for his family, a big tragedy.”
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella says the entire squad is right behind Neto but that maybe it is ‘destiny’ for him to play – and score on such an emotional occasion.
Cucurella added: “In the morning he was sad and it was not his best moment. But we tried to stay together and in the afternoon he was a bit better and I told him that if he’s going to play then he will score because that is destiny.
“Hopefully we can show his love and all the good friends that we are and dedicate the goal to him.
“The manager and he must decide but it’s important that Pedro feels good, football is secondary but it’s a long day tomorrow and whatever they decide will be good. But right now he’s a player in form and I think Pedro can help us in this game.”
“It’s a bad moment, we send all our love to the family, the wife, the kids, and I do it from me, the whole Chelsea squad and football.
“Football is not important at times like this. The most important thing is that we show respect and all our love.
“ I saw the news as soon as I woke up. It was a difficult moment because these things can happen to all of us at any moment and then you start to think if you don’t feel good, or you don’t give 100 per cent, or feel bad when these things happen, it’s important to be happy and live life every day.
“The morning was a bit difficult, you don’t feel good or have the energy to play but tomorrow is a good moment to show all the love, all the respect because I think he enjoyed playing football and scoring football.
“That’s why this will be a good opportunity to show on the pitch which is where he felt good.”

tiktok/@at_home_with_charlFirst of all she painted the banister and steps with white paint[/caption]
In a clip which has racked up hundreds of likes on her @at_home_with_charl account, she showed how she first of all painted the banister and stairs white.
Once this was dried, she added beige-coloured stair mats from Amazon.
She picked up some Casa Pura stair treads for just £25 and attached them onto each step.
In the pack, she got 15 mats in the rounded shape, which perfectly fit her stairs.
Charl added that they were “super budget friendly” and “easy to apply.”
She also said in the comments that she’d been using the brands with kids for a while and had never had an issue with them budging.
She wrote: “I have two kids too and have had stair treads from the same brand for years without them once budging.
“But if you were super worried I would use the tiniest nails and put one on each side.”
The finished result looked very stylish indeed, was very impressive given her budget and the time spent on it.
She wrote: “Quickest £30 home glow-up you’ll see today.”
People were quick to take the comments and praise her hard work.
One said: “you got a lot done in 45 minutes.”

A 10-time Italy international, Ricci clocked up 113 appearances at his former club.
Around the same time, she started to date Ricci — having previously been engaged to Mirko Manolo, the step-brother of fellow glam DAZN host Diletta Leotta.
Lifting the lid on the life of a presenter and football WAG, Incardona told TuttoSport: “I trust Samuele’s opinions a lot so I ask him before a match for some ideas that could be useful.
“Our relationship is really special and we talk about everything, we are very good friends.
“For me it’s irrelevant (his job), it has no impact on my career. In fact we are very keen to keep our professional and private areas separate.
“I really admire his commitment and talent but my career goes forward without interference. We share our dreams but with a healthy balance.”

For good measure he had also branded Kerry’s panel ‘useless altogether’ with the exception of David CliffordMarc Ó Sé felt the ex-RTE pundit used a little too much creative licenceMeanwhile Darragh Ó Sé had angered Kerry boss Jack O’Connor with his Irish Times columnThe drama on the pitch saw Kerry beat the Orchard by 0-32 to 1-21
However, it wasn’t only Brolly’s opinion permeating the whole way through the article as he referenced conversations he’d had with several Kerry greats such as Ó Sé.
The five-time All-Ireland winner has now clarified that the ex-RTE pundit had exaggerated the extent to which he had written off his county’s chances.
Writing in his own column in the Irish News, Ó Sé stated: “I want to set the record straight on a text I had sent Joe Brolly that went into his column.
“Kerry totally dominated at the weekend, particularly at midfield, and I’ll admit that I didn’t see that coming.
“I outlined to Joe that we had several key guys missing, our midfield pairing is completely different, and I gave good reason behind why I thought Kerry weren’t going to win.
“I wasn’t alone in thinking that. He just wrote that I had said ‘Not a hope’. So there’s context required with these things.
“Tomás (his brother) was more confident than me. He had said if David Clifford performs… but little did we realise what Seánie O’Shea was going to do.
“So it says a lot that Clifford could have gotten man-of-the-match just as easily. He recovered so well from a few early wides.”
After the one-sided victory Marc and Tomás’ older brother Darragh was clearly the main naysayer that Kingdom boss Jack O’Connor had in mind when he cited a few Kerry pundits who had “let themselves down” in the build-up.
The 64-year-old vented: “What’s to be gained by slating people? It’s the easiest thing in the world. I’m in the business of building people, not knocking people.
“I’d ask people who are knocking that group and knocking people involved with the group to look in the mirror and say, ‘What have you contributed?’
“It’s very easy to knock people. Go away and coach a team. Go away and coach a development squad. Go away and coach a minor team. That’s how you help Kerry football, not knocking people.”
A group-stage defeat to Meath raised major doubts over the All-Ireland aspirations of the Munster champions.
The nine-point loss caused Darragh Ó Sé to claim that “the mood isn’t great” in the county as the former Kerry midfielder tipped Armagh to bring an end to their season.
O’Connor added: “We think we have a lot of good footballers but sometimes we’re being judged on different criteria to other teams.
“For example, Dublin got beaten by Meath in the Leinster Championship and I didn’t see any ex-Dublin players coming out slating the team or slating the management like we had down south in our county.
“There’s a sense of commitment to the team and a sense of loyalty to the team. Unfortunately a few pundits down our way let themselves down in that regard.”
O’Connor admitted parallels could be drawn with the same stage of the campaign 16 years ago that concluded with him leading Kerry to an All-Ireland SFC title for the third time.
His charges will next face Tyrone in a July 12 semi-final with a throw-in time of 5pm.
