COMMUTERS across the country faced delays this morning after a collision was reported on the busy M50 motorway in Dublin.
Dublin’s M50 traffic near Blanchardstown was impacted by the sudden collision this morning.

The collision was reported at the J06 Blanchardstown Northbound slip to N3 North at 08:48am.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland said the incident was cleared swiftly after it was reported.
However, motorists may experience some road congestion due to the morning rush.
No other major incidents have been reported on Irish roads this morning, meaning most roads should be congestion-free.
TII also reported that there are “no delays currently” on the N40 or routes approaching Cork.
Meanwhile, Bus Eireann has experienced disruption to their services in the South East/Eastern region today.
Route 133 and 100X will be unable to serve the Townsend Street stop 341 due to construction works.
It has been temporarily relocated to Dublin Bus Stop 336 on D’Olier Street for the duration of the works.
09:20 Drogheda to Laytown via Route D2 has been cancelled.
Route 354 has also experienced major disruption, as five of their services have been cancelled.
This impacts the following service:
09:58 The Clock Tower to Carrick-on-Suir
11:20 Carrick-on-Suir to Dunmore East
13:20 Dunmore East to The Clock Tower
16:29 The Clock Tower to Dunmore East
17:20 Dunmore East to The Clock Tower
Route N2 is operating at a reduced frequency until further notice, Bus Eireann reveals.
‘TECHNICAL ISSUES’
Irish Rail has experienced “technical issues” on their services today.
The 06:25 Drogheda/Pearse service is running approximately seven minutes behind schedule due to an operational issue.
And the 08:11 Malahide/Bray service started from Clongriffin due to a technical issue.
This means that commuters from Malahide and Portmarnock had to get their transport from Clongriffin.
No further services were impacted for Irish Rail and Bus Eireann this morning.

KILLER whales have been spotted giving gifts to humans in “extremely unusual” behaviour, baffled scientists say.
Dozens of instances of orcas approaching humans with offerings have been recorded – and even caught on camera.
SWNSThe orcas were spotted giving gifts to humans[/caption]
SWNSThe killer whales would carry it in their mouth and then release it in front of the humans[/caption]
Gifts recorded by scientists so far include fish, mammals, and even a turtle.
The massive 5-ton orcas would swim up to people, drop the item, and then wait for a response.
It’s a common behaviour between killer whales – but scientists are only now seeing the trend for human interactions too.
Importantly, it’s not just a local event: the whales have been spotted handing over gifts in Norway and even New Zealand.
“Orca are very social and we frequently see them food-sharing,” said study author Dr Ingrid Visser.
“To document and describe behaviour of them attempting to food-share with humans in various places around the globe is fascinating.”
The cat-like behaviour sees the orcas carrying their gifts in their mouths.
They would then release them and let them float in front of the humans as part of the “offering” – and wait to see what happens.
“There appears to be a prosocial element to these cases,” said lead author Jared Towers.
He explained that it’s “extremely unusual to witness any non-human animal”.
It’s a behaviour commonly seen in cats and dogs.
But this is one of the first detailed descriptions of similar behaviour for animals that haven’t been domesticated.
Researchers think that it shows how intelligence and social orcas use food sharing to build relationships with their own kind as well as “unrelated individuals”.
And scientists note that orcas can sometimes have food to spare.
SWNSDozens of gift-giving orca incidents have been recorded[/caption]
“Orcas are apex predators that often eat other large mammals,” said study author Vanessa Prigollini.
“But when it comes to people, they occasionally prefer to share, indicating their interest in building relationships outside their own species.”
As many as 34 incidents of food-sharing were collected as part of the research.
For 11 of those, the humans were in the water during the orca approach.
And in 21 of the instances, the people were on boats – with a further two incidents where the humans were on the shore.
“Of the many and varied minds in the sea, likely the greatest are those of orcas,” said ecologist Dr. Carl Safina.
“After living millions of years in the sea, to them we in our boats must seem like visiting aliens.
“And indeed, we are strangers in a strange place we hardly know, about which we have almost everything to learn.”
For it to be recorded as an incident, the killer whale needs to have approach the people on their own.
SWNSIn some cases, the gifts were offered repeatedly to humans[/caption]
And the item needs to have been dropped right in front of them.
For all but one of the cases, the orcas waited to see what would happen after the offering.
And for seven of the cases, the orcas tried to offer food repeatedly after it was refused by the humans.
The research was published in the Journal of Comparative Psychology.
GettyKiller whales are apex predators and roam all around the world[/caption]
ORCAS - HOW DANGEROUS ARE THEY?
ORCAS – also known as killer whales – are the largest member of the oceanic dolphin family.
The creatures are dubbed “killer whales” as they hunt and eat other smaller species of dolphin.
Some also feed exclusively on fish, while others hunt marine mammals like seals and other dolphins.
They’re known as apex predators meaning they’re at the top of the food chain and no other animals feed on them.
There are no recorded incidents of orcas attacking humans before the bizarre boat-bashings, but they have been known to feast on other land-dwelling mammals like moose who swim between islands.

RATHER than scraping pennies together to afford summer holidays, a couple decided to buy their very own caravan.
Now Jade Aldred and Joe Earl, both 25, have their very own second home and are able to go on holiday for just £10 a day.
Jade AldredA savvy woman has revealed that rather than spending thousands of pounds on holidays each year, she and her partner decided to buy a caravan[/caption]
Jade AldredJade Aldred and Joe Earl have renovated their home on wheels[/caption]
Jade AldredIt was once very dated and needed some TLC[/caption]
Jade AldredNow, it’s super cosy and chic[/caption]
After a nightmare trip with their pals, the couple, who live in Gateshead, decided to invest in a caravan.
They searched high and low for a home on wheels without damp and eventually found Elvis – their 21-year-old caravan which they bought for £4,500.
Now, DIY fan Jade reveals all on the caravan’s transformation process, as well as the negativity she has received for owning one.
Jade exclusively tells Fabulous: “We hunted high and low for a caravan with no damp and Elvis was the only one that ticked all the boxes. It was at that moment, we knew Elvis definitely wasn’t dead!
“It was very dated and needed some TLC, but we knew he had amazing potential.”
The couple were inspired to buy a caravan after not being able to afford the trip their mates had booked.
Jade says: “They asked us to go away for a weekend to a caravan site and instead of missing out, we put a blow up bed in the back of Joe’s van and went.
“We were absolutely freezing through the night and both woke up with a cold. All of our friends had their central heating on and cooked Full English breakfasts. It was like home from home and we instantly knew we wanted a caravan after that.”
But despite their desire to buy a caravan, Jade and Joe were in the process of saving to buy their first home, so didn’t have loads of extra cash to splash.
But they also knew their mortgage would make holidaying difficult – whereas with a caravan they “could still go on holiday without the extreme prices.”
As a result, the couple bought their home on wheels, which has a fixed bed, kitchen, shower and toilet, from a private seller in Whitley Bay.
It cost them a total of £4,500, which included the awning and extras.
Renovating on a budget
But the caravan, which is nearly as old as Jade, was in need of an upgrade, so they headed to B&Q and IKEA, and ordered bargain buys from eBay and Shein, to transform it whilst staying on a budget.
Jade shares: “We took the old carpet up and replaced it with Herringbone flooring from B&Q.
“We replaced the old kitchen bench top with an off-cut that Joe had spare from work.
“We bought adhesive wall tiles from Create Your World for £30 – this really transformed the kitchen area.
Jade AldredThe couple replaced the flooring, sofa cushions and kitchen bench top[/caption]
Jade AldredThey also glammed up the space with wall tiles and rattan[/caption]
Jade AldredNow, the couple are able to go on staycations for just £10 a day[/caption]
“We took all of the cupboard doors off, sanded them all and replaced the middles with rattan from Shein. The rattan was £30 in total.
“We did all of the cupboards and the fridge and had a lot of spare material left over.
“I upholstered the sofa cushions myself – I bought the Tiphede rugs from IKEA for £10 each and I used seven in total for all the sofa cushions and the window pelmet.
It really is a mini home on wheels. Elvis has everything you need and the best part is your own bedding
Jade Aldred
“I used a 14″ upholstery needle from eBay for £6.99 and also buttons from eBay for £26.
“I watched endless tutorials on how to do it and they turned out really good and don’t look any different since I did them.”
Reflecting on their caravan’s new gorgeous look, Jade beams: “Since the renovation, Elvis is now very stylish, homely and cosy with such a warm feel.
“It really is a mini home on wheels. Elvis has everything you need and the best part is your own bedding.”
‘Young to own a caravan’
But while Jade loves her cosy abode, she confesses that some people have been very vocal with their judgemental opinions.
“When people say “you’re young to have a caravan”, it makes me feel old and boring but a lot of my friends hire caravans for weekends away and would love to buy one if they could.
Why caravan holidays are so underrated
CARAVAN park holidays are a British staple.
And with the cost of living crisis wreaking havoc on Britain’s purses, more of us are turning to them for an affordable break.
Josie O’Brien, Senior Digital Writer on Fabulous, weighs in on why she thinks caravan holidays are seriously underrated…
WHEN I was a child, my mum used to collect the £9.50 holiday vouchers in The Sun.
She’d use them to book a couple of nights away at a caravan park during the school holidays.
As an adult, I fully appreciate the convenience of a humble caravan holiday.
No faffing about with passports, no luggage limits and no bog-standard hotel breakfast of stale toast and grey eggs.
I still love caravan holidays as an adult.
In a world of doing everything for the ‘gram, a caravan park brings you back to basics.
There’s no obligation to get dressed up, no stress to fit a million picturesque excursions in one week and I don’t find myself flustered in tourist hot spots like abroad.
I love going to coastal caravan parks and strolling along the beach parade.
My highlight is always fresh mussels, ice-creams and classic pubs to grab an afternoon tipple in.
And then, of course, there’s the cost.
Staying in a caravan is definitely way cheaper than my international trips.
With no expensive hotel bills and the ability to cook my own meals, I’m spending hundreds less than I would abroad.
I’ve had some of my best and most relaxing holidays in caravans. Maybe I’ll buy my own one day.
“I think a lot of people associate having a caravan with the older generation [but] I think it’s getting more and more popular with younger people having caravans and motorhomes,” Jade reflects.
And not only do Jade and Jo travel around in their caravan, but it’s great for the rest of their family too, as Jade acknowledges: “I have taken my siblings on many trips away and they love it.
“We have had so many amazing times away with family and friends and made amazing memories and new friends for life.”
Cutting costs on holidays
Now, Jade and her family are able to go to campsites for just £10 a night, significantly reducing the cost of their holidays.
The homeowner, who is also currently renovating her detached three-bedroom home alongside Joe, admits: “We often do weekends away in the caravan and have a ‘No Spend Weekend’. You can do it cheaply if you want to.
“I always cook like I would at home – we have all the facilities, gas hob, grill, oven, air fryer etc.
You can see many places and have the best time with your family and friends for a very little price
Jade Aldred
“We go on long walks and take picnics, take our own alcohol and drinks. It’s so easy going and chilled. You can come and go as you please.”
So far, the couple have been to numerous caravan sites and have taken trips to Morpeth, the Lake District, Keswick, Harrogate, York, Belford and Richmond (with a cheeky trip to the Forbidden Corner).
And for those wondering whether caravan life is for them, Jade, who shares clips of her caravan on social media under the username @thatmeadowreno, gushes: “I definitely think if you are trying to save money and still want to go on holiday, owning a caravan is a great way to do it.
“You can see many places and have the best time with your family and friends for a very little price.
“It’s a great idea if you want to get away with pets, it means they don’t have to miss out on the fun too!”

A JAMAICAN murderer has won a human rights appeal to stay in the country after a judge said he has an “admirable work ethic”.
The unnamed killer has avoided deportation after an immigration court in Cardiff ruled key facts in the case had not been properly considered.
GettyHe mounted a legal fight for asylum in Britain after the Home Office attempted to deport him[/caption]
AFPDetails of the murder were not specified[/caption]
He mounted a legal fight for asylum in Britain after the Home Office attempted to deport him.
The man – who has been in the UK since 1996 – lost an initial appeal against the decision to deny him asylum at a first-tier immigration tribunal.
But his second appeal at the Upper Tribunal was successful, meaning the case is set to be heard again.
A judgement explained that he committed murder, but details of the offence were not specified.
He has been through “offender management” during his rehabilitation and now shows an “admirable work ethic”.
The man also argued that he “feared” deportation because he would be targeted by Jamaican crime syndicate One Order.
He claimed that his family home had been attacked by the gang, who shot his brothers and forced his sister into witness protection.
The Jamaican accused the judge at the First-tier Tribunal of not properly considering his concerns.
Upper Tribunal Judge Sean O’Brien agreed that the man could be in danger if he were to return.
He ruled that the First-tier Tribunal had “misunderstood” evidence given by the murderer and “overlooked” potential risks in Jamaica.
Judge O’Brien added: ‘The [First-tier Tribunal] judge had overlooked the fact that the core elements of the [Jamaican’s] account were not challenged by [the Home Office].
“It had misunderstood [his] evidence about [his] family he claimed had been murdered because of gang retribution and when, and had given no apparent consideration to the attempts made to verify that [his] sister remained in Witness Protection.
“I agree therefore that the judge’s findings on the credibility of the [Jamaican’s] account of events in Jamaica involved the making of an error of law.
“All in all, I cannot be satisfied that the judge would necessarily have found that the [Jamaican] would not be at risk from the One Order Gang had she taken a permissible approach to credibility.”
The One Order gang mainly operates out of Spanish Town – an area on the Caribbean island regarded as a hotbed for criminal activity.
It is the latest in a string of cases where offenders have called on Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), claiming they would face persecution if returned.
The judgement said: “[The Jamaican said] the judge had failed to take into account that the key facts were not disputed by the Home Office.
“The judge was wrong to find [him] vague in naming the One Order Gang as the source of risk.
“The judge misunderstood which family members had been murdered and when.
“The judge failed to take into account the steps taken by and on behalf of the [him] to confirm that [his] sister was in the Witness Protection Programme.”
It comes just months after an Albanian criminal was allowed to stay in Britain after arguing his son did not like foreign chicken nuggets.
An immigration tribunal ruled it would have been “unduly harsh” for the child to be deported toAlbaniawith his father due to his sensitivity around food as well other “additional” needs.
Father Klevis Disha, 39, successfully appealed his deportation at a lower-tier immigration tribunal in which his son’s distaste for foreign chicken nuggets was listed as the only example of his food difficulties.
The case also focused on his son’s needs in regards to sensory issues and difficulties communicating emotions.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp also slammed the decision, claiming foreign criminals are “exploiting human rights laws and weak judges”.

CONOR Kane reckons being kept busy helped Drogheda forget about their European woes.
And he hopes their upcoming down-time works in their favour as they bid to qualify again.
The left-back has started all 24 of Drogheda’s league games this seasonThe 26-year-old signed for Drogs last season from Shels after a successful six-month loan spell
The Drogs face Galway at home tonight in their sixth game in 22 days. Yet, they have just one more game this month, against non-league Crumlin United in the FAI Cup.
The lopsided fixture list is down to their games being brought forward from July to allow a clear run at Europe.
However, the left-back revealed it will be no holiday. The time off will be used by the club for a training camp as they focus on qualifying for Europe again this term.
Kane told SunSport: “It’s our job to get on with it. We couldn’t feel sorry for ourselves.
“It feels like it happened longer than two or three weeks ago!
“In the FAI Cup, we’ve obviously got Crumlin, who will be difficult.
“And we’re planning on going away at the end of the month for a training camp kind of thing.
“All of the players and staff will be together. It will be good for us as we’re a tight-knit group.”
The Drogs are in a good position. The past few weeks and a five-game run yielded five points — a streak that Kane acknowledged would have been good last season when the Drogs avoided relegation in a play-off.
But their FAI Cup win last year was no fluke. They improved in the second half of the season and brought those performance levels into this year to sit fourth in the table.
Kane insisted that has to be the target now.
He said: “We know what we have in the dressing room and that comes from the belief we’ve had since last year.
“People look back at the FAI Cup win but that wasn’t where it changed.
“It was last July. We got a few new faces in and a couple of results.
“People always write us off but this is the best group I’ve been part of in terms of talent.
“Going full-time has made a massive difference too. But we’re looking at the rest of the season and it’s Friday-Friday the rest of the way.
“We know what we can achieve but we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves.”
Usyk, 38, meanwhile rematches Dubois on July 19 at Wembley for the undisputed titles following his stoppage victory in 2023.
CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS
Fury wants a trilogy bout in London with Usyk – feeling he was robbed in both previous fights – but will also settle for a grudge match against AJ.
He said: “Who would I rather fight right now? Usyk. I want my revenge in England, that’s all I want.
“I want my fair shout, and I don’t believe I’ve got a fair shout the last two times.
“I don’t know what I’m going to have to do, because I can’t let it go to a decision.
“That’s the one I want, but if I don’t get that then it will be Joshua, the biggest British boxing fight that will ever happen.
“It would break all records and it would sell out 100,000 at Wembley in an hour and it’s a fight I think can happen, if I did decide to come back and the deal was right.”

A BABY shower erupted into a savage brawl when dart legend Jocky Wilson’s niece ripped out the gran-to-be’s hair.

Her mum Sarah Wilson, 45, attacked Pamela Ritchie – the dad-to-be’s mum – by pulling her hair and punching her.
Chantelle’s sister Chardonnay Wilson, 20, lashed out at Ben’s grandmother, who later claimed her feeding tube was removed.
Sarah Wilson and daughter Chardonnay are the niece and great-niece of late World Professional Darts Championship winner Jocky Wilson.
But Sarah avoided jail after pleading guilty to assault and was instead ordered to pay £500 compensation to the victim.
Her daughter was given an absolute discharge, which in Scottish law means the offence will not go on her record despite a conviction.
It came after her solicitor claimed a conviction would end Chardonnay’s career as a carer.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard the two families had gathered at Lochore Miners’ Welfare Social Club in Fife on May 18 last year.
At first, everyone seemed to be getting on “fine” but the mood turned sour following a game of “Would Mummy Rather”.
One question was asked about whether Chantelle would rather “put a bottle on for the baby or open a bottle of wine”.
The court heard someone from dad-to-be Ben’s family then yelled out she would open the wine, which caused Chantelle to become “upset”.
Chardonnay Wilson said her mum Sarah and Ben’s mum Pamela were “arguing back and forward”.
She added: “My mum told her they could speak any other day but not to spoil the occasion.”
But the court heard more rowing broke out during a game of “Baby Bingo” after apparent sexual comments were heard.
A punch up then unfolded outside the venue after an alleged abusive remark was aimed at the Wilsons.
Sheriff Susan Duff said: “Mrs Ritchie’s evidence was that she was left with a bald section on her head as a chunk of hair had been pulled out.”
Sarah Wilson pleaded guilty to assault, while Chardonnay was convicted following a trial.
She still denies removing Yvonne Ritchie’s feeding tube and punching and kicking the gran-to-be.
Sarah’s solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “This was a baby shower celebration that turned sour for one reason or another.
“She absolutely regrets the incident and she hadn’t been drinking that day.
“She continues to have a relationship with her daughter’s partner but not with the rest of his family. There’s no reason to believe there will be a repetition of this behaviour as she’s not likely to put herself into another family situation like this.”
Jocky Wilson was world champion in 1982 and 1989 and one of the biggest stars of the games.
He retired in 1995 and died at the age of 62 in 2012.

WITH household budgets stretched tighter than ever, many people are looking for ways to boost their earnings.
However, an expert has pointed out one surprisingly simple opportunity might be sitting right outside their front door – and isn’t a time-consuming side hustle.
GettyYou can earn money renting out your driveway as a side hustle[/caption]
The solution involves something most people take for granted – their driveway.
According to car industry expert Kazimieras Urbonas, from Ovoko, an online marketplaces for used car parts, homeowners across the UK are missing out on a straightforward way to generate passive income.
The secret lies in renting out your driveway space to drivers who need somewhere to park.
Using dedicated platforms like JustPark or YourParkingSpace, homeowners can list their driveways and earn money from people looking for convenient, affordable parking spots.
The earning potential varies significantly based on location and demand.
Homeowners in prime spots near major transport links can earn £150-300 monthly, while those in quieter suburban areas might see £50-100 per month.
Kazimieras shared: “It’s incredibly straightforward.
“You simply create a listing with photos of your driveway, set your hourly or daily rates, and wait for bookings to roll in.
“The platforms handle all the payments and insurance, so there’s very little work involved once you’re set up.
“It’s safe to say most people aren’t aware their empty driveway could be earning them money while they’re at work or even while they sleep.
“It’s one of those opportunities that’s been hiding in plain sight.”
The process works by connecting drivers who need parking with homeowners who have unused space.
Whether someone needs a spot for a few hours while they catch a train, or a tourist wants somewhere safe to leave their car for several days, your driveway could be the perfect solution.
LUCRATIVE LOCATIONS
GettyPeople can rake in up to £300 a month renting their drive[/caption]
While any homeowner with a driveway can potentially earn money, certain locations are particularly lucrative.
Properties near transport hubs tend to see the highest demand and can command premium rates.
Kazimieras added: “Homes within walking distance of train stations are absolute goldmines.
“Commuters are happy to pay £5-15 per day for convenient parking, especially when station car parks charge much more or are constantly full.”
Other profitable locations include near hospitals, as staff, patients and visitors often struggle to find parking and will pay for guaranteed spaces.
Other people who are close to airports could also be in the money, as travellers seek secure, affordable alternatives to expensive airport parking
If you are located near a stadium or event venues, this could be tempting for match days or concerts.
Meanwhile, office workers and shoppers love all-day parking options near city centres.
EXTRA BENEFITS
Beyond the obvious financial advantage, renting out driveway space offers several practical benefits that homeowners may not initially consider.
Kazimieras shared: “Your driveway stays active and occupied, which can actually improve security.
“An empty driveway can signal to potential burglars that nobody’s home, but regular activity makes properties less attractive targets.”
The arrangement also helps reduce local parking pressures.
The best places to earn money renting out your driveway as a side hustle
Near hospitals – Staff, patients and visitors often struggle to find parking and will pay for guaranteed spaces
Close to airports – Travellers seek secure, affordable alternatives to expensive airport parking
Around stadiums and event venues – Match days and concerts create huge temporary demand
In city centres – Office workers and shoppers need all-day parking options
Near universities – Students and staff require regular parking solutions
Instead of drivers circling neighbourhoods looking for spaces or parking inconsiderately on residential streets, they have a designated spot that doesn’t inconvenience anyone.
For environmentally conscious homeowners, the practice supports more efficient use of existing infrastructure rather than building new car parks, which aligns with sustainable urban planning principles.
The flexibility is another major advantage.
Homeowners maintain complete control over when their space is available, allowing them to block out times when they need their driveway for their own vehicles or activities.
Kazimieras concluded: “In my work, I’ve observed how parking scarcity has become one of the biggest pain points for drivers nationwide.
“What’s particularly interesting is how this challenge has created a genuine opportunity for homeowners.
“Cities like London, Manchester, and Birmingham can experience parking occupancy rates of up to 99 per cent during peak hours, yet thousands of private driveways sit empty during these exact same periods.
“I expect this market to continue growing significantly over the next few years, particularly as local councils implement more parking restrictions and charge higher rates for street parking.
“Homeowners who get involved now are positioning themselves to benefit from this long-term trend.”
