Derek Chisora pleads with Anthony Joshua not to give repeated drug cheat Jarrell Miller another chance for grudge fight

DEREK CHISORA has pleaded with pal Anthony Joshua not to give repeated drug cheat Jarrell Miller another chance.

Tyson Fury claims – instead of the overdue AJ shootout – he has secured a needless third fight with WBC, WBA and WBO king Oleksandr Usyk for April at Wembley.

That’s without knowing the outcome of the Ukraine king – who has dominated him twice already – rematching IBF boss Daniel Dubois in an undisputed decider on July 19.

If 35-year-old Joshua needs a late 2025 opponent, bloated 36-year-old Miller – who blew their planned 2019 New York bout when caught with a cotchel of steroids – is begging for the payday and does offer up a backstory.

But – at the IBA show in Turkey this week – Chisora confronted ‘Big Baby’ and told him to stop crying over cancelled fights that he is to blame for and to quit trying to goad Watford’s 2012 Olympic golden boy into the ring.

“Nobody else tells him the truth,” Del Boy told SunSport when we congratulated the 41-year-old on his stance.

“People need to start telling him the truth. He’s a good guy but he has this obsession of doing this thing.

“I don’t know why people do it but, when you do it, it’s not good because you are playing with people’s lives and you might end up killing somebody in the ring.

“It’s difficult because he has been given three chances and it’s hard to promote him.

“Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn have both put money into promoting him and he has had to pull out.”

It would be lovely to see Joshua punch holes in the Brooklyn blob – who has three public doping charges dating back to kickboxing in 2014.

But it would give Miller the sort of payday and platform that far more decent contenders warrant.

“He doesn’t deserve the AJ fight,” Chisora said. “He doesn’t deserve any shot right now, you have to earn your stripes.”

Miller spent three days in Turkey badmouthing Brit boxers like AJ and Carl Froch.

But when the Cobra and Del Boy confronted him, he melted in the scorching heat and made jokes and offered handshakes.

Chisora, however, called him out – when everybody else seemed too afraid to.

Staring down the freakishly fit 23 stoner, Chisora reminded him: “AJ offered you a fight, I offered you a fight and Fabio Wardley offered you a fight and you pulled out of them all.

“And now you are here crying that you want to fight all us UK guys. But the only person who has f***ed up is yourself.”

‘It didn’t look safe’ – Fears for darts stars after Luke Humphries injured by fan at US Masters in New York

FEARS have been sparked over the safety of darts stars after Luke Humphries was injured by a fan at the US Masters.

The world No1 was forced to go to hospital after being pulled back by a supporter during his walk-on in New York last month.

Fears have been sparked over player safety after Luke Humphries was injured by a fan during a walk-on[/caption]

The over-zealous fan latched on to Humphries’ thumb before yanking it as the star made his way to the stage.

It left the former world champion with a swollen digit that made it painful to hold darts in his 8-6 win over Nathan Aspinall.

Humphries was forced to go to A&E after the match for an emergency X-ray.

And fortunately for him, there was no serious damage done.

But now questions have been raised over the behaviour of some fans during walk-ons.

Darts stars are always up for signing autographs and posing for photos as they make their way to the oche.

Yet there are concerns over how darts moves forward after the raucous crowd in New York.

Speaking on the Darts Draait Door podcast, former pro Vincent van der Voort said: “Humphries showed me his thumb the next day, it was really swollen.”

Host Damian Vlottes then noted: “(The walk-on) really didn’t look safe for the players.”

Van den Voort then suggested that players instead fist-bump fans instead of shaking hands.

He added: “Raymond van Barneveld always fist-bumps with his non-throwing hand.

“He says, ‘I don’t want those beer-soaked hands anywhere near my darting hand’.

“More players should take a leaf out of his book.”

Jake Paul CAN win a boxing world title as Viddal Riley reveals why fight with YouTube star is edging closer

VIDDAL RILEY says Jake Paul CAN win a world title – with a fight between them edging closer.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul found himself No14 ranked in the WBA after beating ex-middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Jake Paul has boasted how he will fight for a world title[/caption]

And the outspoken American has boasted how he will overcome the odds to go from Disney Channel star to world boxing champ.

That has been met with huge backlash and outright laughter – but cruiserweight contender Riley warned not to rule anything out.

He told SunSport at IBA’s event in Turkey: “Things that’s in place today as we know within an hour or less or more everything can change.

“So I can’t stand here and say he can’t be a world champion in this game of boxing for me to say that would be naive.”

Riley was a talented amateur – winning youth championships – before turning professional in 2018.

But he did so after shooting to fame as the trainer of Paul’s arch YouTube rival KSI.

Paul has since veered away from the celebrity-style fights to carve out an improving 12-1 record in the boxing ring.

And with the American now ranked and beating ex-champs – albeit it undersized and out of their prime – Riley reckons a fight with Paul is no longer just fantasy.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

He said: “It’s not really down to me. I’ve got a plan.

“I’m achieving on my plan but it’s looking more likely to happen based on the path he’s chosen and the path I’m on.

“So long may it continue and if the boy can get paid for it, shout me.”

Riley, 27, is coming off a career-best win over Chev Clarke, 34, in April to win the British title.

Meanwhile Paul, 28, has been beaten just once in the ring losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 26, in 2023.

He has since won six on the spin and victory over Chavez Jr to land himself a world ranking puts him closer than ever to a title shot.

But Riley warned it does not matter how many followers or millions has – he still has to prove himself good enough to win championship gold.

He said: “There’s always the factor of the game which is most important that people forget about is he has to fight to obtain them.

“And that’s where, no matter what plans anyone has, can always be ruined.”

Ekin-Su’s ex brands her ‘selfish and entitled’ and reveals he’s now in therapy after split

EKIN-SU’s Married At First Sight ex has hit out at her and blasted her in an explosive new podcast chat.

Georges Berthoneau took aim at Ekin during an appearance on Jemma Lucy and Nathaniel Valentino’s podcast.

Ekin found love with Curtis on All Stars but split with him three months later[/caption]

The pair were understood to be dating in late 2024 ahead of Ekin-Su signing up to Love Island: All Stars.

But things between the pair went sour and any hopes of a reconciliation after she left the villa have been thwarted amid Georges’ accusations.

Georges accused Ekin-Su of “messing him about” and suggested they were still in a relationship even when she signed up for the starry spin-off – something which Ekin has repeatedly and strenuously denied.

Chatting to the podcast’s hosts, Georges said: “I knew she was going on [Love Island All Stars] – we’d first spoke about it in October.

“I was with her and she met my parents at Christmas. We did Boxing Day together and we did New Year’s Eve.

“I left hers on the 3rd of January and she flew [to South Africa] on the 4th.

“I was the last person she rang before she went into filming.

“She said, ‘I’ll come straight back to you and I already miss you’.”

He went on to insist that his split from Ekin-Su had left him needing therapy after she pursued a relationship with Curtis Pritchard during her time on the show.

Georges said on the show: “Like I started therapy I’ve never had therapy in my whole life and when I told her she went ‘Oh that’s good that you’ve gone to therapy I think we should all go.’

“I cried straight for I don’t know how many nights or weeks.

“So she was there [in Love Island] six weeks, I’d probably say I cried straight from week one or two to like.

She didn’t speak to me for eight days post show. She had her phone for eight days she didn’t message me – maybe she did she went ‘I’m overwhelmed’.

“She’s the most selfish, entitled person I’ve ever met she didn’t want anyone to know about me.

“Every big awards night that she ever went to who do you think was in her hotel room waiting for her.”

Ekin-Su and Curtis remained together for a few months after the programme but officially called it quits at the end of May following three months together.

The pair’s split was amicable with them sharing similar social media statements to confirm the sad news to fans.

Ekin-Su has denied ever being in a serious relationship with Georges and told him that she intended to pursue a new relationship when signing up for Love Island All Stars.

The Sun has contacted a representative for Ekin-Su for comment.

Thousands more Brits hit by flight cancellations in second day of chaos with as many as 75,000 affected

FLIGHT cancellations and delays hit a second day in Europe causing chaos for thousands of passengers.

Latest data reveals that the disruption across Europe, caused by an Air Traffic Control strike in France, has worsened with the overall number of passengers affected now thousands more.

The delays and cancellations are due to a French ATC strike, causing many countries to experience chaos, including Spain (pictured)[/caption]

According to AirAdvisor, yesterday’s disruption rates looked to be between 20 and 40 per cent of scheduled flights.

However now, the disruption rate is stretching to between 60 and 65 per cent, which means 60,000 to 75,000 passengers are expected to be impacted by the strikes.

According to aviation analytics firm, Cirium, 645 flights arriving into French airports have been cancelled so far today due to the strikes.

This is equal to 29 per cent of all scheduled arrivals into French airports.

A further 658 departures have been cancelled so far today from French airports – equal to 30 per cent of all scheduled departures.

Of these, 62 flights from the UK to France have been cancelled – which is 40 per cent of all flights from the UK to the country.

In the other direction, from France to the UK, a further 62 have been cancelled – again equalling 40 per cent of those scheduled.

Yesterday saw a total of 525 flights into French airports cancelled, which was 25 per cent of all scheduled.

A further 501 departure flights were cancelled, equal to 24 per cent of those scheduled.

Of these, there were 51 flights from the UK to France cancelled and also 51 from France to the UK cancelled – each equalling 36 per cent of those scheduled.

Another disgruntled traveller said: “@easyJet @easyJet_press
left stranded in Italy due to cancelled flight.

“No customer service support. No flight until Sunday but only put us up for one night?

“Most likely won’t be able to get through on call this morning. No contact email to be found anywhere. No support on chat!”

Some passengers were also due to fly to big events taking place in the UK this weekend, including the Silverstone Grand Prix and Lana Del Rey performing at Wembley.

One user commented: “My flight has been cancelled due to a strike and I won’t arrive in time, I’m reselling tickets to see Lana del Rey and Addison Rae.”

Another added: “My parents would fly to the UK tonight so they can come to Silverstone for the weekend, now their flight is cancelled.”

One woman commented on Facebook: “Flights now cancelled. We boarded the plane at 23:45…

“Three hours late to get told we will be diverted to Madrid due to cabin crew hours exceeded.

“Then got told actually it’s cancelled and we all need to get off. Now stranded… due to be at work in 7 hours.”

Kara Gammell, personal finance expert at MoneySuperMarket said: “Under EU law, you may be entitled to a refund for your flight from the airline, but you may also be able to reclaim other costs, such as accommodation, on your travel insurance.”

“If your flight is delayed your airline has an obligation to offer you food, drink and accommodation depending on the length of delay.”

Passengers are only eligible for extra compensation if they are made aware of strikes less than 14 days before their flight, as strikes are classed as ‘extraordinary circumstances’ with them not being the airline’s responsibility.

Kara added: “As long as the airline strikes were announced after you booked your trip and your travel insurance, you may be able to claim through your insurer.

“Always check the terms and conditions of a policy before you buy it as not all travel insurance providers offer cover for airline strikes.

“If your policy includes travel disruption cover though, then it might be possible to claim for disruption or losses incurred as a result of your trip being delayed or cancelled.”

Flight compensation rules

A look at your rights if a flight is delayed or cancelled, when your entitled to compensation and if your travel insurance can cover the costs.

What are my rights if my flight is cancelled or delayed?

Under UK law, airlines have to provide compensation if your flight arrives at its destination more than three hours late.

If you’re flying to or from the UK, your airline must let you choose a refund or an alternative flight.

You will be able to get your money back for the part of your ticket that you haven’t used yet.

So if you booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket refunded.

But if travelling is essential, then your airline has to find you an alternative flight. This could even be with another airline.

When am I not entitled to compensation?

The airline doesn’t have to give you a refund if the flight was cancelled due to reasons beyond their control, such as extreme weather.

Disruptions caused by things like extreme weather, airport or air traffic control employee strikes or other ‘extraordinary circumstances’ are not eligible for compensation.

Some airlines may stretch the definition of “extraordinary circumstances” but you can challenge them through the aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Will my insurance cover me if my flight is cancelled?

If you can’t claim compensation directly through the airline, your travel insurance may refund you.

Policies vary so you should check the small print, but a delay of eight to 12 hours will normally mean you qualify for some money from your insurer.

Remember to get written confirmation of your delay from the airport as your insurer will need proof.

If your flight is cancelled entirely, you’re unlikely to be covered by your insurance.

Ryanair recently warned of record flight delays this summer.

Spain & Portugal ‘still hot’ warning for Irish tourists as thunderstorm alert issued amid deadly 39C Europe heatwave

AN URGENT warning has been issued to Irish tourists over thunderstorms and scorching heatwaves sweeping across Europe.

Irish holiday hotspots in Spain and Portugal have been placed under an urgent weather alert ahead of the thunderstorms that are expected to brew today.

Spain and Portugal are at risk of thunderstorms[/caption]

Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather revealed that most European countries are still suffering scorching heat, as Ireland and the United Kingdom miss out on it.

Yesterday, the majority of Italy reached a whopping 31C, while Portugal saw temperatures hit 33C and Spain experienced 37C highs.

O’Reilly said: “The extreme heat in Northern France has eased off and will further over the coming days.

“Still hot in parts of Spain and Portugal and some thunderstorms expected in Spain, especially Northern areas today.

“Ireland missing out on the heat.”

The thunderstorm radar map reveals that Northern Spain, including Vigo, Oviedo, Santander and Madrid, is expected to experience thunderstorms today.

The thunderstorms are expected to last for two days, with Saturday highlighted as the peak for thunder activity.

On Saturday, the thunderstorm from Spain will slowly spread across Northern Portugal, affecting Porto, Braga and Braganca.

Thunderstorms may bring heavy rain and even hail to some areas.

This means that Irish jetsetters hoping to escape to the sun might find themselves disappointed.

No official weather warning has been issued by Spain or Portugal’s meteorological agency, but it is expected that they will issue it in a short period.

Holidaymakers are advised to take caution in severe weather, especially with the extreme heat, and follow the authority guidelines.

HEATWAVE WARNINGS

However, the warnings for Spain over the major heatwave remain in effect for some parts as the heatwave, which originated from the African continent, continues to have a grip on Spain’s climate.

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has warnings in place for Palma, Cordoba, Sevilla, Leon and Madrid over the extreme heat until July 6, with some parts still reaching up to 39C.

Spanish health officials have urged tourists and locals to take extra care in the heat, stay outside of the sun and stay hydrated.

They also encouraged people to pay close attention to those who are older, pregnant or who have chronic health conditions.

Portugal urged people to stay in cool or air-conditioned environments for at least two to three hours a day and avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during midday when it’s at its peak.

Using sunscreen with a factor of 30 or higher is recommended.

Ensure to reapply it every two hours and after swimming at the beach or pool.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

I’m a Brit who’s chuffed to have got a house in Bulgaria for £8k…but trolls say they’ve seen ‘better homes on Shameless’

A BRITISH couple are chuffed to have bought a house in Bulgaria for just £8,000.

But not only have people described the huge property as looking “rough”, but one mean troll has even claimed to have seen “better houses on the Chatsworth Estate on Shameless.”

Maxwell plans to take his family over to Bulgaria to renovate the house and eventually become as “self-sustainable as possible”[/caption]

Posting on social media, Maxwell, 38, and his wife Leah Jones, 29, gave viewers a close-up look outside and inside the huge property, which is in Popovo, Bulgaria.

As he took a step inside his new pad, Maxwell was pleased and felt “very lucky” that his bargain home has UPVC doors and windows everywhere.

He showed off the “big hallway” and the “original coving” which is still in place around the lights and walls.

He described the first bedroom as being in a “good state”, as he admitted: “Seen a lot worse on the market in Bulgaria for the money.”

Maxwell, who plans to take his family over to Bulgaria to renovate the house and eventually become as “self-sustainable as possible”, recognised that despite the electrics being “half done”, he wasn’t bothered as he beamed: “But for £8k, I’ll deal with it.”

After showing off the huge bedrooms and the large kitchen space, Maxwell gave a quick glance in the bathroom, which was complete with a bath, toilet, sink and radiator.

Thrilled with the bathroom, he beamed: “We’re very lucky to get this because a lot of the other houses that we’ve seen, there was absolutely nothing – every single room needed doing.

“It’s all plumbed in, ready to go – needs a bit of love, a bit of TLC and a clean, but that’s what we’re here for.”

Not only does the property have three bedrooms, but there’s also a “massive” barn with “endless possibilities”, and a garage on the land too.

As he showed off the outside space, which is “very overgrown” with “so much c**p everywhere”, Maxwell acknowledged: “All needs bringing back to life – I can’t wait to do that.”

Big divide

The TikTok clip, which was recently posted online under the username @maxwellmydailys, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and amassed 1.5 million views.

Not only this, but it’s also racked up 24,700 likes, 2,339 comments and 2,760 saves.

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

But social media users were totally divided by Maxwell’s £8,000 property – while some thought he was “lucky” to get such a great deal, others described it as looking “rough.”

One user beamed: “What a steal! It’s amazing what you can get here for a good bargain! Wish you all the best!”

A second gasped: “That is one of the best deals I have seen!!!!! LUCKY.”

Don’t mean to disappoint you, but this is too high of a price for this property. Source: I am Bulgarian

Whilst someone else shared: “The house is mint for that price.”

But at the same time, one person said: “It’s rough.”

Another added: “Seen better state houses on the Chatsworth Estate on Shameless.”

Meanwhile, a third chimed in and wrote: “Don’t mean to disappoint you, but this is too high of a price for this property. Source: I am Bulgarian.”

Robbie Williams breaks silence on 90s rivals Oasis reunion tour as he sends message to Liam and Noel ahead of first gig

ROBBIE Williams has broken his silence on his famously bitter 90s rivals Oasis’ hotly anticipated reunion tour.

Singer Robbie, 51, sent a message to Liam and Noel Gallagher just hours before their first gig tonight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

Robbie’s rivalry with the Gallaghers dates back to the peak of the Britpop era[/caption]

The pop star unveiled a spoof blue plaque on Berwick Street in Soho, the site of the iconic What’s The Story Morning Glory? album cover, in tribute to the brothers’ Britpop legacy.

The unofficial sign reads: “Robbie Williams – heard it, saw it, loved it, lived it, wanted it and snorted it… That’s The Story.”

Sharing a photo of the plaque online, Robbie tagged the band and added: “GOOD LUCK TONIGHT LADS.”

He also recreated the album’s famous artwork – wearing the same red tracksuit he wore at Glastonbury in 1995, when he famously partied with the Gallaghers during Britpop’s wildest days.

That same outfit features on the cover of his upcoming album Britpop, which documents his chaotic rise during the ’90s.

Robbie’s rivalry with the Gallaghers dates back to the peak of the Britpop era, when Noel famously dismissed him as “the fat dancer from Take That”.

Robbie later challenged Liam to a £100,000 boxing match live on stage at the 2000 BRIT Awards.

Despite that, he’s been vocal in recent years about his admiration for the band.

Speaking in 2023, he said: “I don’t think anyone could compete with that – including Taylor Swift, who’s the biggest artist on this planet.

“So no, it’s not a competition, even though it bloody is.”

Asked in May by NME whether he’d be attending any Oasis shows, Robbie joked: “Not only will you not be seeing me at any Oasis shows, you will not be seeing me at any shows full stop.”

“I’m a wonderful agoraphobe, and a very happy agoraphobe.”

He’s also been clear about how powerful the reunion could be, telling fans: “The soap opera alone will either be exciting and or ghoulish to watch. As for the shows? They’re gonna be incredible, off-the-scale special.”

He called Liam “charismatic” and praised the return as a “healing moment for our country”, before adding with a smirk: “Noel will be there too.”

In 2022, Robbie labelled the brothers “gigantic bullies” but added: “I’m still a huge fan.”

Liam later responded: “I’ve never bullied anyone in my life. I’m a massive piss taker for sure and probably gone a little too far sometimes, but if I’ve ever hurt anyone’s feelings I apologise.”

Oasis, who clocked up over 70 million record sales worldwide after forming in Manchester in 1991, split in 2009 following a fall out between the brothers.

They will perform together tonight in Cardiff for the first time in 16 years in front of 74,500 fans.

Following huge shows there tonight and tomorrow, Oasis will take a short break before kicking off their run of shows at Heaton Park in Manchester on July 11.
