Fresh blow for Eamonn Holmes’ as telly firm racks up six figure debt amid divorce from Ruth Langsford

EAMONN Holmes has been dealt a fresh below as the presenter’s telly firm has racked up a six figure debt.

The Northern Irish star, 65, runs company Holmes & Away which takes in cash from his broadcasting work.

However, The Sun can reveal that the production firm has racked up a six figure debt.

Figures uploaded to Companies House this week show the firm is £22,850 in the red for 2024 – following a £18,000 surplus last year.

Annual accounts show the GB News host has creditors of almost £150,000 to pay.

In addition, he also had a Corporation Tax rebate of £39,173 paid by HMRC.

Eamonn has assets that make up some of the shortfall, which is why the firm is £20k+ in the red once that’s taken into account.

The Sun has approached Eamonn’s rep for comment.

The former This Morning host – who split from wife Ruth Langsford a year ago – continues to work despite a worsening health condition.

The 65-year-old has been experiencing ongoing health issues, including chronic back pain – which he’s attributed to slipped discs and a 2022 spinal surgery.

Eamonn has also spoken about difficulties walking and reliance on a walking frame or wheelchair.

He’s also struggled with shingles and has talked about experiencing difficulty seeing, even with his reading glasses.

Last month he said he was in pain, “even when the sun shines”.

Sharing a selfie on Instagram, he penned: “Even when the sun shines there’s pain.

“Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life.

“So pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters.”

He is now in a relationship with Yorkshire counsellor Katie Alexander, 43.

Ruth and Eamonn's relationship timeline

Before the shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on UK TV – even with their signature bickering style.

Here’s how their romance played out…

1997 – The couple first meet after being introduced by mutual friends, two years after Eamonn splits from his first wife, Gabrielle, with whom he has three children.

1997-2002 – To be respectful to Gabrielle, the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight. Ruth told Daily Mail: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”

2002 – Ruth and Eamonn welcome their son, Jack, to the family.

2005 – Eamonn finalises his divorce with Gabrielle.

2006 – The pair begin to host Friday episodes of This Morning together.

2010 – Eamonn proposes to Ruth while at the Cheltenham Races, after asking Ruth’s mother for her hand.

June 2010 – Eamonn and Ruth marry at Elvetham Hall, Hampshire.

2016 – Eamonn undergoes a double hip replacement in the first of many health battles.

June 2019 – On This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn say the secret to their happy marriage. Eamonn credits “compromise, consideration and lots of conjugal,” while Ruth said it was “laughter and an equal marriage”.

November 2020 – Ruth and Eamonn are replaced on their regular Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in a ‘show shake-up’.

December 2021 – After a year of being moved to the bank holiday presenting slot, both Eamonn and Ruth left This Morning.

January 2022 – Eamonn debuted on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV in her long-standing role on Loose Women.

September 2022 – Eamonn undergoes spinal surgery after years of back issues including a trapped sciatic nerve.

November 2022 – Eamonn falls down the stairs of his Surrey home with Ruth and breaks his shoulder, requiring a new operation.

September 2023 – Eamonn has a spine and neck stretching procedure as part of his year-long recovery.

May 2024 – Ruth and Eamonn announce they have split after 14 years of marriage and a 27-year relationship.

September 2024 – Eamonn was spotted on a luxury holiday in Barcelona with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander. Ruth calls in a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.

Eamonn and Ruth announced their split in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage.

A spokesperson told fans about their split in a short but sweet statement.

It read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

The pair hadn’t been seen together for over two years, last appearing alongside one another in a skit on Instagram.

Next generation of Red Arrows jets could be built in Scotland under new plans

THE next generation of Red Arrows jets could be built in Scotland under plans announced last night.

The Qatar-backed start-up Aeralis picked Scotland’s Prestwick Airport as its preferred site for assembly of a new jet trainer aircraft.

The Sun revealed the Red Arrows could run out of Hawk T1 jets as they are due to retire in 2030.

And the Government is considering a Russian designed aircraft to replace them.

Aeralis is the only UK company to offer the Government a jet trainer aircraft which could be designed and built in Britain.

But they are yet to build a prototybe.

Ian Forgie, chief executive of Prestwick Airport, said: “We are tremendously excited about this agreement with Aeralis and the opportunity it brings to generate jobs, apprenticeships, investment and innovation in the Prestwick area.

“We look forward to working with Aeralis to make this happen.”

Tristan Crawford, chief executive of Aeralis, said: “Prestwick represents an ideal site for our UK final assembly line.”

The company said it “awaits UK Government commitment to the aircraft in order to move forward with these plans that will clearly return Scotland to its deserved place as a first-tier aviation nation”.

The Red Arrows have always flown British jets.

But arms giant BAE are in talks with America’s Boeing about building a US jet on British soil to replace the Hawk T1.

Man, 38, jailed for three years after ramming Garda cars with stolen truck in Grand Theft Auto style spree

A MAN who deliberately rammed a number of Garda cars with a stolen seven-tonne rigid truck was jailed for three years.

The shocking incident, which was compared to a scene from the computer game Grand Theft Auto, was carried out by Istvan Konyari in Cork in November 2023.

The Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard how he only stopped when a Garda fired a shot through the windscreen.

Konyari, 38, had gone on a spree of burglaries and thefts, including stealing a van which he exchanged for the stolen truck.

The Hungarian national had no previous convictions and had never been in trouble prior to him being assaulted and struck on the head with a 6kg kettlebell in November 2021.

Konyari, who previously lived at an apartment in Shandon Street in Cork, suffered mood swings and other changes associated with a brain injury.

Judge Helen Boyle said today that she believed he had reduced culpability because of his head injury.

She was told his family had returned to Hungary and once his sentence was served he too planned to return home.

Detective Garda Peter Quinn previously told the court that Konyari took part in a three-day crime spree which eventually ended in the car park of Dwyer’s Electrical on Forge Hill on the southside of Cork city.

He said Konyari put lives at risk as he rammed Garda cars in the confined car park space in Forge Hill on the morning of November 8, 2023.

He was only halted in his tracks when a single shot was fired through the windscreen of the truck he was driving.

Konyari then got out of the truck and put his hands over his head.

In his Garda interview, the 38-year-old compared his antics to the video game Grand Theft Auto, the cops and robbers video game.

Konyari felt that it was a case of “maximum stars” when a member of the Armed Response Unit fired the single shot through his windscreen to bring his escapades to a halt.

In the game stars indicate when a dramatic scene is potentially lethal.

Konyari carried out a number of other bizarre robberies during the crime spree, all of which received concurrent sentences from the judge.

He wrote a letter of apology to the court and to Gardai.

Carlos Alcaraz makes it through to Wimbledon second week then throws down huge challenge to Sir Andy Murray

CARLOS ALCARAZ challenged Andy Murray to a deciding golf game this Wimbledon fortnight – even though he is aiming to win £3million on a different type of grass.

The Spaniard made it 17 wins in a row at the tournament as the two-time defending champion beat Jan-Lennard Struff 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-4 on Centre Court in round three.

He wants a deciding match on the golf course with Andy Murray[/caption]

There were some tough moments, particularly the second set he lost, but he was grateful the 35-year-old German missed a volley in a key part of set four.

Alcaraz, 22, is a crowd favourite and loves to take his mind off lawn tennis by playing rounds of golf on courses in Surrey.

Pre-tournament, he had two nine-hole challenger matches with Murray, Britain’s two-time champion, and at the moment the score is tied at 1-1.

Another contest will be set up at some point next week provided their schedules align.

Talking to Annabel Croft in a court-side interview, the reigning French Open champion said: “He said to you to ask me this question, right?

“He beat me that day. He beat me in golf that day. But then a few days later, I beat him.

“So, it’s 1-1. We are tied. We are tied.

“Will we play again? Let’s see. I love playing golf on my days off. I know he has a busy schedule.

“I will try to set up a golf round again, nine holes, and we will see who wins. We are tied at 1-1. We have to play again, absolutely.”

Alcaraz will now face Russian Andrey Rublev in the last 16 on Sunday as he chases a hat-trick of titles in SW19 – with Cameron Norrie a possible quarter-final opponent.

All roads continue to lead to a possible final against his great rival Jannik Sinner, whom he beat in thrilling fashion in a five-set, five-and-a-half-hour French Open final.

Yet he said his encounter on Friday caused him plenty of “stress” and it was not a straightforward passage.

The world No2 said: “I knew it would be really, really difficult and I had to be focused on every shot, my service games and returns. His game serves pretty well to the grass.

“Big serves. He approached the net as much as he can. Really pleased about everything I have done, fighting, running, making great shots.

“I tried to make the opportunities he brought to me in the match. I am proud to get the win in four sets.

“It was stressful as well. To be honest, I was suffering in every serve game that I did today.

Wimbledon 2025 LIVE – follow all the latest scores and updates from a thrilling fortnight at SW19

“Love-30s, break points down, yeah it was stressful. Every time he could push me, he did it. It was survival.

“I’m really happy that at the end I got the break. He missed a volley in front of the net. I cannot believe I am standing here 6-4.

“I tried to run every ball, tried to fight for every ball. Tried to see if he was going to miss some easy shots.

“I was lucky in that shot and I made the most of it. I made the break. I still don’t know how he missed that volley.”

American No5 seed Taylor Fritz has spent close to TEN HOURS on court and played 14 sets across three matches as he knocked out Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-4 6-3 6-7 6-1 after FOUR delays for emergency health scares and medical time-outs.

Former world No1 Naomi Osaka apologised for her loss ahead of her daughter’s second birthday as she was beaten 3-6 6-4 6-4 by former quarter-finalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

The Japan star, 27, said: “I’m just going to be a negative human being today.

“I’m so sorry. I have nothing positive to say about myself, which is something I’m working on.”

Club World Cup stars Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves burst into tears as minute’s silence is held for Diogo Jota

JOAO CANCELO and Ruben Neves broke down in tears over the memory of Diogo Jota.

The late Liverpool star was tragically killed in a car crash on Thursday alongside his younger brother, Andre Silva.

Jota, 28, had lined up alongside Cancelo and Neves numerous times on international duty for Portugal.

Cancelo had played 32 games alongside the much-loved attacker.

Meanwhile, Neves had played alongside him 164 times across the last decade at both Porto and Wolves as well as various levels in their national team.

The pair joined their team-mates in paying tribute to Jota before the Club World Cup quarter-final.

As the minutes silence was observed for Jota and 25-year-old Silva, the pair were brought to tears.

Fluminense players and coaches joined in the silence and were also seen wearing black armbands in tribute.

The football world has been united in grief following the tragedy.

Only 11 days prior, Jota had gotten married to his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, with the couple having three children.

Tributes from Prince William and Cristiano Ronaldo were among the thousands who paid their respects.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was at Anfield today to lay a wreath to mourn the loss of the football champion.

The Reds’ current skipper Virgil van Dijk said: “What a human being, what a player, but most importantly what an unbelievable family man.

“My heart is breaking for your beautiful family, for Rute and for your kids. I promise you that in these difficult times and beyond we will always be there for your family.

“A champion forever, number 20 forever. It’s been a privilege to have stood by your side on the pitch, and to have been your friend off it.”

Liverpool also announced they would “immortalise” his No20 shirt number.

A wake was held today to honour the passing of the brothers.

The funerals will be held in their home town of Gondomar near the Portuguese city of Porto at 10am on Saturday.

Tinder’s most right swiped man FINALLY finds love after nine years – but there’s a major twist

TINDER’S most popular bachelor has found love after nine years — but not through the dating app.

Model Stefan-Pierre Tomlin, 34, has had more than 48,000 likes on his profile since he set it up in 2015.

At one stage he was getting 40 matches a day, and in 2017 was nicknamed “Mr Tinder” after having a then-record 14,600 likes.

But he said it caused his success on the app to plummet, adding: “It’s just become a game where people swipe on me just because of who I am.”

But Stefan, who set up his own match-making firm in 2021, is now loved up with Vicky Batsford, 43.

He met the finance manager in a bar on a night out with friends last October and already says “marriage is definitely in the future” with her.

He added: “She stole my attention straight away and everything was easy and natural.”

Vicky, from Essex, was unaware of his Tinder past and did an eye-roll when she found out, adding: “I did ask if he was a slag, which we laughed about.

“But after a few more drinks over the following weeks, we chatted more and I found him incredibly interesting.

“He soon swooned me over.”

Stefan, from Greenwich, South London, said: “She’s organised, humble, and saw me beyond the Mr Tinder facade.”

Katie Price sparks concern as she shows off bony rib cage and skinny legs in tiny bikini

KATIE Price has sparked concern after she showed off her bony rib cage and skinny legs while holidaying in Dubai.

The former glamour model, 47, stripped to a yellow bikini as she enjoyed a sun-soaked getaway.

Katie put her tiny frame on display while sunbathing near the hotel pool.

She was seen lying on a sunbed before she sat up to catch the rays.

The mum-of-five then cooled down as she dipped her feet into the pool, while showing off her slim legs and stomach.

In one photo, the star was seen sitting on the edge of the pool with her small waist on display.

Just a few days ago Katie stripped down to a bikini and shorts for a sea side sail on a luxury boat.

Katie who first sparked worry over her shrinking appearance at the start of the year, recently hit out at critics on Snapchat as she zoomed in on a set of scales.

But she put the criticism behind her for her Middle Eastern holiday and shared snaps of herself on the boat.

She wore a floral bikini top, matched with white linen shorts as she smiled and gave a peace sign over her head.

“I took over a boat in Dubai and became Captain Pricey, and they never had a captain like me before,” she captioned the photo which she shared to her Snapchat and Instagram accounts.

Katie has been showing off her body while on holiday in Dubai, including in a bright orange bikini.

But fans have been hounding her about her weight loss and in attempt to put their minds at ease, Katie showed them exactly how much she weighed.

The TV personality, believed to be around 5ft 4in tall, showed her weight as 7st 12lb.

In an attempt to put fears to rest Katie, said in the video: “Everyone is so obsessed with my weight. This is what I weigh. That. That is what I weigh.”

The podcaster previously tried to shut down fears over her weight loss, saying she decided to slim down after a long-standing foot injury and attempts at IVF made her put on weight.

Speaking on her Snapchat in May, Katie said: “Yes I’ve lost weight.

“Yes that what I’ve wanted to do, I’ve wanted to lose weight.

“Because the past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months because they said I’d never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair.

“And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight.

“So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t me.”

She then explained how, after finishing her failed IVF treatment, she became more active with healthy eating.

“Everyone is talking about it – it’s driving me mad,” she said. “I’m healthy and I do eat.

“If you look at old old pictures of me in the Jordan days, I was always skinny.

“But today where I have lost weight, I feel, my butt looks like a deflated balloon.”

Martin ‘The General’ Cahill gang thug Joseph Kavanagh, who carried out bank director abduction, dies suddenly at home

A ONE-TIME key associate of slain gangster Martin ‘The General’ Cahill has died, the Irish Sun has learned.

Brute Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Kavanagh, a relative of fallen Kinahan No2 Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh, passed away suddenly at his home in the capital on Wednesday.

PA:Press Association

The thug, understood to have been aged in his late 60s, previously served seven years of a 12-year sentence for abducting former National Irish Bank director Jim Lacey and members of his family at their Blackrock home in November 1993.

Kavanagh was convicted of robbery, possession of a handgun with intent to commit an offence and demanding cash with menaces with intention to steal.

The brazen criminal claimed that he had himself been kidnapped by a gang who coerced him to bring Mr Lacey to the National Irish Bank on College Green.

Although £300,000 was taken, it was much less than the millions the Cahill gang had planned to steal.

As part of this ploy, sources explained how Kavanagh allowed Cahill shoot him in the leg two months after the kidnapping.

Kavanagh, who had only suffered a flesh wound, told gardai he was targeted because he had not carried out the instructions of the gang who orchestrated the kidnapping.

But the concocted story and move was rejected by the Special Criminal Court, and Kavanagh was locked up.

It was the Cahill gang’s last big job before its leader was shot dead in 1994.

Sources who dealt with Kavanagh say he was a “depraved” and “vile” character, who assaulted gardai while in custody multiple times.

He was part of Cahill’s inner circle, alongside Martin ‘The Viper’ Foley, John ‘The Coach’ Traynor, and Martin Cunningham, from the 70s into the 90s.

‘DANGEROUS CHARACTER’

One source told the Irish Sun: “Martin Cahill kept the likes of Kavanagh very close.

“Cahill had carried out a favour for Kavanagh previously. Cahill then held it over Kavanagh and used him.

“Kavanagh himself was a bad egg, a sleeveen and a highly dangerous character.”

NEPHEWS KILLED

Kavanagh’s nephews Gerard – nicknamed ‘Hatchet’ – and Paul worked for the Kinahan cartel.

But both were later whacked by the deadly mob in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Kavanagh is also related to ‘Bomber’, who was the second in command for the cartel before being locked up in the UK for two decades for drug trafficking.

Kavanagh’s funeral notice says his funeral is “private for family and close friends.”

Fat jabs are ruining dinner parties as guests on weight-loss drugs lose appetites and offend their hosts

FAT jabs are ruining dinner parties as guests on weight-loss drugs lose their appetites.

Eighty per cent on the injections say they now find the social side of eating and drinking uncomfortable.

Nearly half feel it has ruined their enjoyment of dinner parties completely — with 29 per cent of hosts getting upset.

Ten per cent of guests have even stashed food in a napkin to hide their embarrassment.

Jon Horsley, from trends and insights agency Perspectus Global, said: “Weight-loss drugs are still in their early days.

“The fact that their use can make social eating difficult is just one unforeseen effect.”

And it is not just food that is spoiled for those on jabs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, as 18 per cent say they can no longer enjoy wine or cocktails.

Sixty per cent believe the correct etiquette is to let hosts know ahead of time that guests are on the jabs, so menus can be adjusted accordingly.

Perspectus Global’s survey of 2,000 guests and hosts found lighter options such as prawn cocktail, melon and prosciutto, fish soup or a small fillet steak are the most suitable options.

For dessert, a sorbet is the order of the day.

Mr Horsley added: “Shared meals may become more awkward until we work past the social difficulties, adapt our menus and the etiquette surrounding the subject.”
