Emmerdale villain to make shock return – just months after dramatic exit

AN EMMERDALE villain is making a shock return to the village – just months after his dramatic exit.

The ITV soap is bringing back the mysterious Dr Crowley for a revenge plot against Joe Tate.

Joe Tate awakens in a hospital bed, disoriented, with a menacing figure looming over him.

Dr Crowley wants revenge – and cash from Joe

Viewers will remember that Crowley was the doctor who helped Joe in his organ steaming scam.

With Joe needing a new organ to survive, Joe paid the doctor handsomely to illegal operate on an unwilling victim in order to save Joe’s life.

He ended up taking Caleb Miligan’s kidney after he was stabbed and transplanting it into Joe before fleeing the country.

However he will now make a shock return and take Joe captive with a fiendish plan.

Actor James Hillier will be back on screens next week as part of the plot.

Joe actor Ned Porteous has opened up about the moment Joe finds himself knocked out and coming to in a makeshift operating theatre while the bad doctor looks on.

“[Joe’s] very confused, very scared,” he said.

“A very powerless situation for Joe to be in.”

And talking about working with James again, Ned said: “He’s a really, really lovely guy.

“I enjoy working with him, and the character that he built is fun, it’s got more dimensions than just a helper, and it serves as a very interesting character going forward.

“Hopefully the audience likes what we do with it, because it all gets a bit crazy.”

He added of Joe: “I like to believe that he’s just doing what he has to do to survive, and I think if you were to hold that mirror up to everyone and say, ‘What would you do if your life really depended on it?’ Could you really ask yourself… you wouldn’t do that?

“People say that they wouldn’t want to, and it’s not the right thing to do. Of course it’s the wrong thing to do, it’s completely unethical, it’s completely immoral, but he was fighting for his life and now he’s just having to pick up the scraps, I guess.”

Music fan stunned as she bumps into Britpop legend in Eurostar queue – would you have recognised him?

A MUSIC fan was left stunned after bumping into a Britpop legend in the queue for Eurostar.

During the band’s heyday, they won a Mercury Music Prize, had three number one albums and eight Top 10 singles among many others.

In fact, Suede were part of the ‘Big Four’ in Britpop alongside Oasis, Blur and Pulp.

And while Oasis fans are gearing up to see the Gallagher brothers reunite for the first time in decades from tonight, one lucky Britpop fan got some one on one time with Suede frontman Brett Anderson.

Taking to Instagram to share a selfie with the 57-year-old singer, the delighted fan wrote: “YOU GUYS I just spent the time in the Eurostar passport/security line talking to BRETT ANDERSON FROM SUEDE who is easily like, top five nicest people I’ve ever met and also HE LOOKS PERFECT?????

“It is 100 DEGREES IN PARIS right now and this MF looks FLAWLESS???? Meanwhile I have sweat stains on every inch of my clothing.”

Indeed, Brett looked suave in a blue open-necked shirt and a pinstripe suit jacket, with his dark hair sweeping across his forehead.

The fan added in a further comment: “I SIMPLY MUST COMMENT ON MY OWN POST HERE AND SAY: If a person THIS IMPOSSIBLY HOT can still be nice, nobody else has any excuse.”

Other music fans were quick to comment, with one writing: “Omg this is so great.”

Another added: “ONE OF MY FAVORITES EVER!!!!”

A third incorporated lyrics from one of Suede’s songs as they commented: “Omg a dream come true! [flame emojis] maybe maybe it’s the clothes he wears.”

Suede first formed in 1989 and were branded “The Best New Band in Britain” by Melody Maker in 1992.

A year later, their debut self-titled album hit the number one spot on the UK Album Charts and won the Mercury Music Prize.

Their other hits include Stay Together, Trash, She’s in Fashion and Beautiful Ones.

The group disbanded in 2003 before reuniting in 2010 for a series of concerts and have continued to produce new music ever since.

Their upcoming tenth album, Antidepressants, is set for release in September.

The little-known 35C Spain sunspot on popular walking route with €2.50 pints and €21.99 Ryanair flights

IF YOU have yet to book your summer getaway and are looking to explore somewhere new, look no further than this little-known town.

Molinaseca is a little-known village located in the middle of El Bierzo, Spain.

The town is full of historic sites[/caption]

It’s located on the French Way, which is the most popular path of the Camino de Santiago.

As a result, it is a must-visit for those on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

The town had just 818 residents in 2010, so is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

The historic town is full of winding roads and impressive architecture, and is perfect for brightening up your Instagram.

There is evidence that settlements in the town date back to Roman times, but a Jacobean Route runs linear along the course of the river Meruelo.

The town was declared a Historic-Artistic site in 1975, and has become a must-visit for history buffs.

During Roman times, the town was flooded with settlements as the gold mines of Las Medulas were nearby – so many of the roads, causeways and bridges were created as gold trails towards Astorga.

You can visit Las Médulas, which was the largest open-pit gold mine during the Roman Empire, and was declared a Cultural Heritage Site in 1996.

The name of Molinaseca translates to ‘dry mill’ in tribute to people who provided services to the monasteries.

Another main attraction in the town is Royal Road, which is known as the main artery of the village.

HISTORIC SITES

You can take a lovely walk along the road from the Roman Bridge to the Holy Christ high cross, and it also coincides with the route of the Way of Saint James.

Historic buildings along this route include Casona de Don Pelegrín, the Palace of the Balboa family, and the cultural heritage site of Palace of Cangas de Pambley.

Casona de Don Pelegrín is historic, as Queen Urraca of León used to stay there when she travelled to Galicia.

Or head to the Saint Nicholas of Bari Church to admire the history and architecture.

Another appeal of the town is the food scene, with a range of local delicacies to enjoy.

Wine, cecina beef and botillo sausage are three of the most used ingredients in dishes from the El Bierzo region.

And even better, you can pick up a pint from just €2.50.

Summers here are warm, reaching highs of between 25 and 35C, so you can enjoy the heat while relaxing to the full.

Every August, the town holds a water festival in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows and Saint Roch as part of the Semana Grande festivities.

The course of the Meruelo river is moved to cross the main street to the Plaza del Rollo.

This festival means that locals and tourists alike flock to the town, when thousands run through the streets shouting “water” as people and firefighters soak them with water.

The event happens to the backdrop of music from brass bands and is attended by 20,000 to 30,000 people.

To get there, you can fly to Santiago de Compostela with Ryanair from €21.99.

It is then a two and a half hour drive to Molinaseca.

FedEx Cup winner’s money set to be slashed as Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler set to battle for PGA Tour’s top prize

The PGA Tour has confirmed sweeping changes to the way its massive $100million FedEx Cup bonus.

Rory McIlroy won’t be thrilled with the new parachute payout system that the world’s top tour will implement this summer.

The new prize payout will see the winner scoop $10m – a drop from $25m

Under the new system, the bonus pot will be split into three separate stages, with the eventual FedEx Cup champion earning just $10m.

That figure marks a massive drop from the $25m top prize handed out last year.

That means the Tour will now reward season-long consistency more than playoff performance.

The move that benefits players who top the standings throughout the year – not just at the finale.

McIlroy, currently ranked No.2 in the world, is among those likely to feel the impact.

The Tour Championship format has also been revamped, with the controversial ‘starting strokes’ system scrapped.

That means all 30 players will now tee it up at level par, rather than giving a points-based advantage to the FedEx Cup leader.

As part of the new breakdown:

  • The top 10 players after the regular season ends at the Wyndham Championship will share a $20m pool, with the No.1 spot taking home $10m.
  • After the first two playoff events, another $23m will be split among those who make it to the BMW Championship.
  • The leader after the BMW will pocket $5m.
  • The final $57m will be dished out after the Tour Championship, with the eventual FedEx Cup champ receiving $10m.

That’s a sharp shift from previous years, and world No.1 Scottie Scheffler is among those welcoming the changes.

And the three-time major winner is delighted with the news.

He said: “There’s going to be a balance between rewarding guys for having a great regular season, and then giving guys an opportunity to have a great post-season.

“But you’re not going to have an opportunity to win the FedEx Cup unless you have a really good regular season.”

The move comes as the new PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp was backed by Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

Rolapp, who brings over 20 years of experience from the NFL where he served as chief media and business officer.

He will officially take over from current commissioner Jay Monahan in 2026.

Monahan, who has held the role for a decade, is expected to assist with a smooth transition.

Gary was brutally attacked last month and has been in a coma

However he recently returned to screens after his quiet time and is now part of a major storyline – and it won’t end there.

The Sun can exclusively reveal that Mikey has signed on the dotted line for another year that will see Gary back at the forefront of the soap.

A source said: “Mikey loves working at Coronation Street and bosses love having him so it was a no brainer for him to sign for another year recently.

“Gary’s got a huge year coming up and it’s all just kicked off on-screen and it’s just the beginning.

“There’s going to be a lot of Mikey on screens in the coming months.”

Viewers watched recently as Gary mysteriously disappeared after a row with wife Maria.

He had no idea he was being used by Lou as a way to get back at Maria, with her framing him for a cheating night of passion.

Gary stormed out and went to stay with his mum Anna Windass, but then failed to return.

When Maria realised he had left Anna’s and was heading home but had never arrived, she began to worry.

Meanwhile viewers discovered that Gary has been in a coma after being brutally attacked and left for dead.

He is in hospital with a mystery woman calling herself his wife and calling him Chesney.

The mystery of what happened to Gary and who the woman is is set to be solved next week.

Coronation Street has been contacted for comment.
