Cameron Norrie breezes through to Wimbledon second week as Brit brushes aside Mattia Bellucci in straight sets

LAST man standing Cam Norrie will take the Union Jack into round four of Wimbledon after seeing off Italian Mattia Bellucci on Court One.

Former British number one Norrie looked to be yesterday’s man as he fell into the shadow of Jack Draper, who reached the semis at Flushing Meadows while his compatriot was at home nursing injuries.

But while Draper was a second round casualty, Norrie, 29, who reached the last four on the SW19 lawns in 2022, might be on course for a repeat as he gained revenge for his April defeat in Monaco with a hard-fought 7-6 6-4 6-3 win in two hours and 28 minutes.

It was not, by any means, a vintage performance, especially in the opening stages.

But after bouncing back from a horror start, when he was broken to love in his opening service game and faced three more break points at the start of his next, Norrie took charge.

As the Court One fans began to return after digesting Sonay Kartal’s earlier win as well as their lunch, the Brit dragged his way back into the set as he capitalised on an error-strewn Bellucci service game.

Norrie was never behind in the breaker, making the crucial mini-break with a stunning backhand pass from way behind his own baseline to nudge in front after 67 minutes.

And when he broke the Italian in the opening game of the second, taking full toll of successive Bellucci double faults, it looked like things were only heading in one direction.

Not at this Wimbledon, where you can take nothing for granted.

Norrie, 40-0 up and set to be three games to the good, dropped his service only to rapidly break back as his baseline scrambling and heavy slice prompted errors from his opponent, with his fifth ace of the match ensuring there were no further costly mistakes.

Now it was about holding his nerve and waiting for the moment.

Norrie pounced in the third game, drilling a forehand past the stranded Italian after he refused to give up on a point he should never have won.

There really was no way back and Bellucci lacked heart and hope before, after a stumble at 5-1, Norrie completed victory when  his opponent overhit on his forehand once more.

Norrie urged All England Club bosses to break protocol and not move his last 16 clash on Sunday to Centre Court.

He said: “It’s impossible to say how much I love No 1 Court.

“When I saw the schedule I was really happy.

“Hopefully I can play my next match here – I don’t know, maybe play all my matches here. It was good fun.”

The last Brit man standing added: “The fans were such a big factor – I want to thank you guys for that.

“I started a bit over-confident and stole the first set. I found a way to weather the storm.

“That was probably better for me and I played a good tie-break.”

Asked about his lonely status on the men’s side, Norrie insisted: “I honestly don’t care about that too much.

“I was just enjoying playing point for point in this amazing atmosphere back on this court.

“But apparently I am the last man standing. So I will take that.”

‘Sorry for my silence’ – Rosanna Davison explains mysterious absence from social media & shares glimpse inside new home

ROSANNA Davison has revealed the reason behind her recent absence online and given fans a sneak peek inside her new home.

The former Miss World explained she took a step back from social media due to a hectic schedule and some major life changes.

She shared a glimpse inside her new home[/caption]

Rosanna, who is usually very active on her Instagram, hadn’t posted in over two weeks leaving fans concerned.

However, she took to her Instagram and explained: “I haven’t opened this app in just over two weeks, which is absolutely unheard of for me.

“Sorry for the silence, hopefully no one noticed too much. Hope you’re all doing well, and all is good in your worlds, and you’re surviving the summer holidays so far.”

The Dublin native revealed late last year that after years of house hunting, she finally secured the keys to her family‘s “forever home“.

The mum-of-three has been sharing regular updates on the renovation journey with her followers, but admitted the move itself hasn’t been easy.

Rosanna explained: “Sorry for my silence. It’s true what they say about a house move being one of the most stressful things you can do.

“We had the movers booked for last Wednesday, so I just had to cut out all the noise, all the distractions, and just focus fully on packing up the house and packing up all of our boxes and bits and pieces, which happened to coincide with the kids getting their summer holidays.

“Then I was hammered with a head cold, lost my voice for a few days, which I think my husband quite enjoyed.

“But it’s all under control, we’ve started the process of moving now since last week, but the house isn’t quite ready to go, so it’ll be another couple of weeks before we can properly start living there.

“As excited and happy as we are for this new chapter, packing up a house is no joke.”

She also gave fans a glimpse at some of her favourite details in the new build.

Among them was a stunning “coffee dock” fitted into her brand new kitchen.

The chic unit features a white cabinetry with gold handles, open wooden shelving, drawers and a bold black and white marble countertop.

In the caption of her post, Rosanna revealed it will be “another few weeks” before the full renovation is complete.

HOUSE THAT?

She added: “But thought I’d share a peek at some of our fave details so far. This part of the kitchen will get a lot of use.”

Fans and friends flocked to the comment section to share their love.

One fan wrote: “Such a gorgeous space. We cannot wait to see it when it’s finished.”

Sarah said: “That marble is pure art! Can’t wait to see the full reveal. Your kitchen’s going to be a masterpiece and the coffee dock will be the cherry on top!”

Alison commented: “Gorgeous handles… love big drawers in the kitchen. Looking forward to the full reveal!”

Another added: “So jealous but will be delighted for you all to eventually move in.”

Fiend who urged vulnerable woman to attempt suicide in video calls for his sexual pleasure is jailed in landmark case

A FIEND who urged a vulnerable woman to attempt suicide in video calls for his sexual pleasure has been jailed in a landmark case.

Tyler Webb met his victim, who was then aged 21, in an online forum dedicated to mental health and began grooming her.

The 23-year-old persuaded the woman to seriously self-harm and convinced her to send a photograph of her injuries.

Webb also tried to convince his victim to take her own life in a video call but the suicide attempt failed.

He has now been jailed for nine years and four months but was handed a hybrid order, meaning he will begin his sentence in hospital until he is deemed fit for prison.

Webb was the first person in the country to be charged with encouraging serious self-harm online under Section 184 of the Online Safety Act 2023.

He pleaded guilty to that charge and a separate charge of encouraging suicide between June 22 and July 11 last year.

Judge Timothy Spencer KC agreed that “very largely” Webb was motivated by sexual gratification.

Leicester Crown Court heard after the pair first met on the forum, they began using the Telegram app for “dark” conversations.

Over a six-week period, Webb repeatedly told her she had nothing to live for and gave her methods to take her own life.

In one 44-minute phone call, he persistently tried to get the woman to kill herself.

When she made clear she was not going to do so, Webb then threatened to move on to another woman instead.

Prosecutor Louise Oakley said that when Webb encouraged her to harm herself, “in (the victim’s) words, he loved it. Tyler Webb told her it turned him on”.

She continued: “He told her he wanted her to do it during a video call so he could watch.

“He would berate her and say she had nothing to live for and she should die.”

After the woman’s failed suicide attempt, she contacted police as she feared Webb would persuade someone else to harm themself.

Webb was arrested a week later at his home in Loughborough in July 2024.

Police found his user profile on Reddit – called u/EmpathicNarcissist – that showed disturbing images of anime characters with fatal injuries.

In a victim impact statement, the woman said: “I don’t want to call this encouraging serious self-harm or suicide, I want to call this what it is – an attempted murder through psychological means.

“What Tyler did was not a mistake, it was calculated psychological violence. He didn’t try to kill me with his hands but with his words.

“He had no turmoil while torturing me. He told me that my only value was in dying for his entertainment.

“I’m alive, but the life I have left is altered forever. My life is ruined – my mind and body have been severely damaged.”

The court heard Webb has been diagnosed with mental health disorders including autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and anxiety and depressive disorders.

His defence barrister Joey Kwong said Webb was in a “dark time” with his mental health and “wrongly he adopted such warped behaviour and distorted thinking” from material he saw online.

You're Not Alone

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

Detective Constable Lauren Hampton, of Leicestershire Police, said: “This case is not only truly shocking but also deeply concerning.

“Webb preyed upon a vulnerable woman at a time when she was reaching out to people in an online forum for help and support.

“He quickly gained her trust and then he began with his barrage of vile requests – all the time knowing that what he was telling her to do could result in her ending her own life.

“Thankfully, this did not happen, and the victim was able to report what had happened.”

Ben Shelton is through to round three of Wimbledon 2025, following a hard-fought straight-set win over Alex Bolt and a 69-second finish against Rinky Hijikata.

Next up, he faces Hungarian aggressive baseliner and hard-court specialist Marton Fucsovics on July 5, 2025.

Here we get to know Ben’s better half, 2022 and 2024 Ballon d’Or nominee Trinity Rodman.

Who is Trinity Rodman?

Trinity Rodman is a rising star in American professional soccer.

Born on May 20, 2002, in Newport Beach, California, she is the daughter of NBA star Dennis Rodman and Michelle Moyer.

Trinity is in a relationship with tennis American tennis sensation Ben Shelton.

Like her boyfriend, Trinity is one of the most promising young athletes in women’s soccer.

In 2022, former US head coach Vlatko Adonovski told USA Today: “[Rodman] was one of the most exciting players in the league this past season, and she proved that she can be impactful at the professional level in National Women’s Soccer League.

“She is still a young player, but we do want to expose her to the environment where she can get her feet wet a little bit.

“And hopefully she can continue growing and show what she was able to do in the league she can do at the international level.

“We don’t want to rush anything. We’ve got to be patient.”

Despite being given her father’s fame, Trinity was primarily raised by her mum and grew up alongside her big brother DJ Rodman, who is a basketball pro like his dad.

She has spoken openly about her complicated relationship with her dad, emphasising the incredible influence and support she has received from her mother.

From a very young age, Trinity showed exceptional talent and passion for football.

Her soccer career took a major leap forward when she was selected second overall in the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Draft by the Washington Spirit.

At just 18 years old, she was the youngest player ever drafted in the league at that time.

Trinity’s rookie season was nothing short of spectacular — she played a crucial role in leading the Washington Spirit to the 2021 NWSL Championship.

Her outstanding performances earned her the NWSL Rookie of the Year award and a place on the NWSL Best XI team.

Beyond club success, Trinity made her debut for the US Women’s National Team (USWNT), where she made an instant impact.

She was part of the USWNT squad that won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics — scoring three goals during the tournament.
